Is Adobe Elements 8 on the Decline?

Recently I purchased both Adobe Elements 8 and Premier 8. So far I am totally dissatisfied with them. In the past I used Elements 2 and 5 so was expecting at least some improvement. At least version 5 had a meager manual - version 8 has nothing. Of course Adobe is very willing to SELL you a manual ("book"), but I think that a warning should be placed on the outside of the box (much like a cigarette warning) that No documentation is included but is available for an additional cost.
An included sheet in the Adobe box claims that you get Photo Essentials to be able to perform 5 essential tasks in Adobe Elements at a cost equal to that of buyng Elements 8 in the first place. Are these features absent in Elements 8? If so, why sould I buy Elements 8 when what I should have purchased all along is Photo Essentials. Otherwise, why should Adobe push for you to buy another fuill product?
One of the main features in Elements 5 is to be able to easily print multiple different images on the same sheet (not conact sheet, but print package) by using the "Multiple Print" tab. That feature is now gone. I would estimate 95% of users print multiple different images on a sheet. Is this one of the purposes for purchasing Photo Essentials - to be able to have multiple print capability?
No documentation available, no multiple print capability, and I have not even searched yet for other Elements 8 reductions, nor will I do so at this time. I guess I won't even look at Premier 8. This product will be un-installed and put on the shelf. I'll return to Elements 5 and Photoscape, a FREE software package which rivals Elements 8 (and has lots of FREE documentation).
I know that Elements fanatics mwill blast this post, but I have olny two questions for them. Am I the only one encountering problems which this package (according to this forum, I'chm not), and second is what I have stated in here wrong? If I am wrong, I'll reinstall and check the product again.

Multiple Files/picture package/contact sheets: Start from the Organizer and you'll find them under Select Type of Print->Select Layout in the print window.
OnOne is a completely separate company that put an ad in the box, the same way you often find flyers for other products in the box when you buy software.

Adobe Elements 11 Editor: The MARQUEE for the brush tips aften disappears! The only solution that I have found is to shut the computer down then start up again. Is there a fix for this problem without shutting everything down?

If it takes rebooting the computer to fix this temporarily, that suggests the problem is in the system's temporary memory. Most likely the VRAM (the RAM on your video card). I'd suggest making sure you have the most up to date drivers for your card (go to the manufacturer's web site to download them).

How much computer is enough computer to do editing with Adobe Elements 11 for the PC?

I've migrated away from SONY Vegas MovieStudio for the reason that it could not render out smooth-playing files for upload to the internet (I suspect SONY codecs are not so good). I find that my 4-year-old H/P Pavilion w/ AMD Athlon II 4-core CPU is not up to the task of editing with Adobe Premiere Elements 11.
SOLUTION: I've recently replaced the old machine with an off-the-shelf Hewlett/Packard Pavilion desktop computer, model p7-1515. This is a current model as of April 2013.
SPECS: Windows 8 OS, Intel Core i5-3470 processor (3.20 Ghz), Intel HD graphics 2500, 8 GB DDR3 memory, 1 TB SATA hard drive.
UPGRADES I WAS ABLE TO PERFORM MYSELF: The hard drive cage allows for the addition of just 1 additional hard drive and I have added a second 1 TB SATA drive. Memory has been increased with the addition of a second 8Gb RAM module. I downloaded and installed Apple QuickTime 7.7.3.
I've been working with this new computer for several days and have had no problems to report. None. I realize that 'acceptable performance' is often in the eyes of the user. My experience with the H/P Pavilion p7-1515 is that it is quite up to editing within Premiere Elements 11.
As this posting is not a 'question' per se, the board moderator might wish to relocated it. Just thought my experience might be worth sharing with users looking for a 'budget-friendly' desktop machine. if you have a dl problem, you didn't follow all 7 steps. typically, failure to meticulously follow steps 1,2 and/or 3 is the problem.

Can't sync photos with Adobe Elements 6.0

Hi I am unable to sync my photographs to the iPod using Adobe Elements 6.0 The albums are not showing up in iTunes. I read somewhere that it may work if the photos are in "collections" & not Albums but I can't work out how to do this.
The iTunes help section says that Elements v3 or later will sync photos. Can anyone help me on this? I did wait for the latest version of iTunes before asking.

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

Adobe Elements 11 Organizer

In Apr 2013 I downloaded Adobe Elements Organizer. I can't get it to work. I paid $109.49 for it and never could use it. Did I download the wrong thing? And what can I do about it?

You could have bought:
Photoshop Elements 11 - which contains Photoshop Elements 11 and the Elements Organizer
or
Premiere Elements 11 - which contains Premiere Elements 11 and the Elements Organizer

Photoshop Elements & Premiere Elements 11 bundle - which contains Photoshop Elements 11, Premiere Elements 11 and the Elements Organizer.
Check your online order details and tell us which it was you bought (DON'T post any serial numbers here though).
From your description of what happens when you clicked on the Video / Photo Editor options you currently have installed Photoshop Elements and the Elements Organizer.
Your actual problem is nothing to do with the application installations, but the fact that the file you imported into the Organizer is no longer in the location it was in when you imported it.
This could be because you moved it somewhere else using your OS file system, deleted it, or it was on a memory card, USB thumbdrive, or removable hard drive that is either no longer connected, or now has a different drive letter than when it was originally connected.
In the Organizer select Find> All Missing Files and let the Organizer search your computer for them (that could take a while). If it finds them let it reconnect them for you. You should then be able to edit them by right-clicking the thumbnail and selecting "Edit with Photoshop Elements Editor".
Possibly one other misconception - you may be thinking that if you open the Editor all your photos are visible there for editing. That is not how it works - to edit a file you have to open it either from the Organizer (as described above) or in the editor with the File> Open dialog.
Hope this helps to explain things a little better. Try and find your files to edit and come back to us if you still have difficulties.

Adobe Elements 11 from OS X App Store Crashing

Hi,
Just recently purchased Adobe Elements 11 off the APP Store.
It wont even open without crashing.
It seem like it should be a simple error to fix but I cannot find any information with regards to solving the problem. Please see the information below.

Invalid Serial Number: OEM Adobe Elements 8

I bought a computer and Adobe Elements 8 came on the computer. I re-installed the computer. I have the two original disks and the disk sleeves. The serial number is on the sleeve with the text "Adobe Elements 8" above the serial number. I am now trying to install it on the computer it came with.
It says invalid serial number. I have reviewed the serial number four times to make sure that it is correctly entered. There is no error code.
I contacted Adobe Customer Support through chat and he stated that I needed to post it here.
Can someone please help?

Ive had a the same problem re-installing phtoshop elements 7 that originally came free with my VAIO laptop. Although my serial numbers has be registered (by me when I first got the laptop) and it is clearly shown on my Adobe Account ID when I re-install its not accepting my serial number. I've re-installed premiere elements in the same way and that had succeeded so I cant understand why photoshop elements is behaving differently as they both came free with the laptop at the same time. I've also been onto 'chat' and a very polite 'customer service representative' told me that I need to find my solution in the user forums. So, not much help there! and not much customer service either! So I'll carry on the search for a solution and post back here if I ever get one; providing that I can find the time to keep searching of course.

Adobe elements 11 trial version

I recently purchased a new laptop and i would like to install Adobe elements 11 on the new machine. I have the serial number of 11 download so I thought I could picup the trial version online and enter my serial number. However I have been unable to find the trial version (a lot of site say the have it but spend most of the time trying to redirect you to something else.
I appreciate any help you may give.

When you make a DNG that's like making another raw file, so you will need to convert the DNG file just like your original raw. Don't use the Save button in the raw converter. That's just a link to the DNG converter. Normally you would click Open instead and then save in the editor as a jpg or other image format of your choice.

I have finally found time to work on and to learn how to use my recently purchased Adobe Premiere Elements 11 (APE11) and Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, using Adobe’s respective ‘Classroom In A Book’ training aid I recently purchased. To my disappointment when I open Adobe Premiere Elements 11 in the 'minimize' state it “tracks” when I try to move it across the screen, (see images), making it impossible and unacceptable to use. It only happens with APE11 and not with Photoshop, Premiere Organizer, MS Office Suite Programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Etc.), or any other programs on my computer. Also, the “tracking” doesn’t happen to a video within the APE11 video working space. I have installed this instance of APE11 twice to no avail using the Adobe defaults. See the added images for the current configuration of my PC and the APE11 version I have. I noticed in APE11’s Properties that I don’t have Compatibility checked-off because I never have had a previous version (see image). I do the Microsoft & Windows 7 updates regularly. This PC was purchased and configured to work on photo and video editing & manipulation, along with my everyday use. [Purchased on 2/22/13 from a reputable company Computer Links, Burlington, NC 27215, 336-226-4738 Invoice# 148599, (Technician: Matt). I am not a computer science person, which is why I relied on Matt to configure my PC. As this appears to be an AEP11 issue I am relying on you to resolve the issue verse Matt. I had one person kindly suggest "Could you try to update your graphic card drivers, if they are not current"? If I knew how to & where located on PC I would consider it, however I would think it would be current as it was new when PC was purchase 2/22/13 and if it was out-of-date why wouldn't the other programs on the PC also 'track', such as Adobe Photoshop Elements, MS Ofiice Suite programs, etc.? (PS: I thought I posted this in the Adobe Premiere Elements area 5/19/13, apparently I posted it in the "Downloading, Installing, Setting Up" discussions area instead, & didn't see a way to move it?? It appears Matt solved my issue earlier today and I have been testing it without a failure.
Matt determined it was the Personailization "Themes" I was using. I had the Theme "Windows Classic" selected from the "Basic and High Contrast Themes..." group, and when he changed it to one of the "Aero Themes" the Adobe Premiere Elements "TRACKING" problem went away. He and I are not sure why it works by changing the theme, but it appears to. Using the Aero Theme continues toi allow me to use my own photos for "Desktop Background" and "Screen Saver".
The path to it is via the PC display by right clicking your mouse, select "Personalize", select one of the "Aero Themes" and go from there according to personal taste. See image below:
Note: Something for Adobe to consider going forward, if the above remains a solution. Matt says as I am using Windows 7 I have a selection between Themes, either "Windows Classic" from the "Basic and High Contrast Themes..." group or one of the "Aero Themes" (which resolved my Tracking problem), however Windows 8 did away with the "Aero Themes" and there isn't a choice then what? He isn't sure if there will be a tracking problem or not.
ATM any thoughts on why the above Themes setting would make a difference?

I wouldn't think the graphic card would be out of date as it was part of the 2/22/13 PC purchase, however I don't know how to verify it using Windows 7 to be sure if it is or isn't. If it was the graphic's card, wouldn't the other programs, such as Adobe Photoshop Elements 11, the MS Office Suite Programs, etc., on the PC also 'track'?.
