Is Adobe Photoshop CC the same as Adobe Photoshop CS+?

I will be starting an online website and need a program which gives me the ability to modify photos such as remove backgrounds, move sections of the picture around, add aspects of the picture to other pictures etc. You could say just the flexibility to edit each aspect of a picture.
I have been told I need Photoshop CS+ but this program runs into the thousands. I have found Photoshop CC for $9.99 per month which is appealing. Is CC equivalent to CS+ or completely diffferent?
Also I cannot find "CS+" does the plus just basically mean anything above "CS1" or is there an actual CS+?
Thanks.

CS + would be CS to CS6 or the subscription CC version, aka CS7.
CC is the latest, and a bargain at 9.99 /mo. Of course if you unsubscribe, it will no longer work.
CS6 is the last "permanent" non subscription license sold by Adobe. $700 for the Standard version.
If you can't afford the $700, then the monthly subscription is the best way to go.
CS to CS5 are no longer sold by Adobe.

  • Is this Photoshop Lightroom the same software as Photoshop?

I purchased Photoshop Lightroom 5 and of course Lightroom 6 comes out. My question is, is Photoshop stand alone the same as Photoshop Lightroom 5?

    No, bad naming by Adobe.
Photoshop is the large pixel editor that does layers and lots of other pixel creation and editing via destructive editing.
Lightroom is a digital asset manager and catalog that does nondestructive editing with its editor via the catalog.

  • Is Adobe Acrobat Reader the same as Adobe Reader?

Hi. I just got a new Mac and don't know how to use it yet. When I tried to view my utility bill online, it said I needed  Adobe Acrobat Reader. I found and installed Adobe Reader. What's the difference? I still cannot view my utility bill (yes, I restarted my computer.) Thank you.

    What exactly means "cannot"?

  • After my hard drive crashed and had to be replaced, Adobe will not activate the copy of Photoshop on the same machine it was originally on.  I paid for it, why can't I use it?

I have been buying and using Adobe Photoshop through numerous versions over the past several decades. and I used to recommend it whenever I had an opportunity. Now I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.  I could say a lot more than that, using words my parents taught me to not use.
Adobe now has their head in the clouds and doesn't care a whit about faithful customers.
I had CS3 on one machine, CS4 on another, and CS6 on another one. The hard drive on the machine with CS3 and had to be replaced.  I am trying to install CS3 back on the same computer, but Adobe will not let me activate it, even though I am trying to put it on the computer it was originally on.  I paid for it, I have gone by the rules, and Adobe will not even talk to me.  And as far as I can determine, Adobe is so far out in the clouds that it has nothing but contempt for the people that kept them in business for decades!
What I would really like to do is move CS4 onto the machine that originally had CS3 on it, and put CS3 onto the machine that now has CS4, but I assume nobody at Adobe cases what I would like, even though I paid for the software and have no intention of trying to have it installed on more than one machine at a time.

    Gene,
Thanks for your input.  The first response was from Semaphoric, and the suggestion to go to Activation  <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__helpx.adobe.com_x-2Dproductkb_policy-2 Dpricing_activation-2Ddeactivation-2Dproducts.html&d=AAMFaQ&c=2X_btuPRWkGwRX26NHIotw&r=SV2 7JiUdsqdd_EMOf-dq7w&m=ZZ3uTbq0aPS1gp4Hdc7Kfaq1cjXsUii7RKXoXvqBPGg&s=c6eaD33CSBrFAMNKsC0pPB qnQK4DfAG7wMSJ6E27pyU&e=> & Deactivation Help proved to be helpful.  I was never able to activate CS3 on the computer it was on originally, but I had been unaware that a license allowed installing on two computers if only one is in use at any time, so I uninstalled CS3 and installed CS4 on the old computer, so I am happy about that.
When I get time, I will try to install and activate CS3 on my laptop computer.  I thought about trying to install CS6 on the old computer, but CS6 is on my wife’s computer, and we are often both using Photoshop at the same time.  I will probably install it on her notebook computer – if they will let me.
    Thanks again,
    RG

  • Is editing in Photoshop with Adobe camera RAW the same as editing in Lightroom?

    Hi,
I have been learning to use LIghtroom, and I am now reasonably comfortable with it.  I shoot in RAW, and do my import, organizing and editing in Lightroom.  My next goal is to start learning to use Photoshop (which looks like a much bigger leap than just Lightroom !).
My question is this:  from all my online reading and watching videos, it seems that some people edit mainly in Lightroom and work on photos in Photoshop when needed, whereas some people like to work mainly in Photoshop.  If the original RAW photo is imported into Photoshop, I believe it first opens in Camera RAW, and the editing tools there seem almost identical to Lightroom.  Is that the case?  In other words, is editing in Camera RAW (within Photoshop) essentially the same as editing the RAW photo in Lightroom?  Any advantages to doing it in Camera RAW?
    thanks,
    Neil

Quote from Photoshop Help | Camera Raw
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom® software is built upon the same powerful raw processing technology that is available in the Camera Raw plug-in.

  • I have taken a 12 month membership for cc and photoshop.  I now see that adobe are offering the same product for only $9.99 per month including lightroom, whereas I am paying $19.99 a month. Is it possible to change plans without any penility payments.

I have a monthly membership to Photoshop CS6 costing $19.99 per month on a 12 month membership.  I now see that Adobe are offering the same product for only $9.99 per month.  Is it possible to change plans with any extra costs to me. Thankyou

    Hi rjmo
Yes, you can switch to the Creative Cloud Photography Plan without penalty.
Please check this doc for the differences between this plan and the Photoshop single app plan you have currently: Photoshop Help | Differences between Photoshop and Creative Cloud Photography Programs
Let me know if you wish to proceed with the switch and I can arrange it.

  • Can't run Pshop and another adobe program at the same time

    Hi all,
I'm experiencing a frustration problem. I can't run two adobe programs a the same time - ie, Lightroom and photoshop, After effects and photoshop.
Lightrrom and After effects sem to be playing together okay at the moment so looks like it may be a PShop issue.
Running final release of windows 7 64 bit, licenced PS3, trial AE, trial PS4....8GB Ram,  has been with both Nvidia and ATI video cards, open GL on , Open GL off, seperate scratch disks, reinstalled everything,
Any help, advice, hints would be really appreciated as having to close programs all the time when switching apps is a real pain in the neck
    cheers
    Jeff

    thanks whytefly,
yeah I thought that may be the case but then realised both After effects and CS3 are 32bit (86x) and I can't run those together
I'm jealous as hell that you can run 3 together  haha,
    cheers

  • Can I have more than one version of adobe reader at the same time?

can I have more than one version of adobe reader at the same time?

If I may add a qualification: on a device running full Windows 8, you may have both Adobe Reader Touch and Adobe Reader (normal desktop edition). This does not apply to the primitive devices which cannot run desktop apps (running "Windows RT"), and while I may be wrong, I believe that the Surface 2 is such a device.

  • 15-inch have the same high adobe rgb gamut as 17-inch?

Just wondering if the 15-inch has the same high adobe RGB color gamut as the 17-inch (think it is like 90% of the gamut or something like for the 17-inch). Thanks in advance! This is the Only thing keeping me from purchasing the 15-inch right now.

Actually, it all depends upon your needs, as you see them. While it’s true that ‘many, many’ professional photographers use the 15” UMBP, a great many do not. And, of those that <do>, many cannot afford the investment, don’t wish to acknowledge there’s even a possibility that a difference exists (I’ve seen this in studios many times- it’s known to some of the staff and creative heads for whom I’ve consulted as ‘17” envy’.)... Then there’s the flat-out ignorance of the difference, and, lastly, the least-common reason- “... I know the difference, need the difference, but I’m going to settle for ‘adequate’...”. Not common if the Pro’s needs are more than average. The ‘ballpark’ is sometimes not good enough- if it often needs to be a certain part of the outfield, then the 17” UMBP’s screen, the best laptop solution is the next step up from the 15” UMBP. The realistic expectations of a pro photographer, who needs more than the display accuracy of the 15”UMBP, there IS an alternative. And if it raises productivity, and/or the quality of your final product, the 17” display’s broader color gamut is immediately worth it as an investment going forward; after a certain period, the 17” becomes cheaper, not more expensive to use, by saving editing time on the 23”, for example, when the workflow can be more ‘localized’ to left field, rather than Wrigley Field ;^). I use the 15” UMBPs all the time- but for color-critical work, where time is money and my 30” ACDs are far away for the day, I need MORE than the 17” UMBP can provide, so all the hardware ability I can get is a requirement, not an alternative. An example: I had to batch-process over 600 NEFs from my D3X several weeks back... I had both a 15” and a 17” at my disposal, the 15” calibrated to its color space limit, a just-barely Adobe RGB 1998, w/ 500GB 7200 rpm drive, 6GB RAM, Capture One Pro, NX2, LR2, Aperture, Bibble, RAW Developer, CS4, etc..., same software on my 17”, but 8GB RAM, a calibrated ProPhoto color space, bigger screen, 2.93 Ghz processor, and no power to either for the afternoon. Both batteries were fully charged, and I had an extra battery for my 15”, also fully charged. I knew I could batch-process all 600 NEFs on the 17”, and still have about 35-45 minutes of surf/e-mail time after batch-processing. I also knew that, if I grabbed the 15” for the job, I’d have to batch-process WAY differently, since I’d have to ‘strip’ each NEF of its ICC tag (for Adobe RGB 1998), because, if I batched into CS4 or Aperture or Capture One Pro, for example, with any of those programs on the 15”’s ‘maxed’ ICC calibrated color space of Adobe RGB 1998, I’d never regain the lost gamut from any of the 15”’s batched files, because, well.. it’d be gone. With the 17”, calibrated to ProPhoto RGB, I’d be able to bring ALL the gamut from ALL my batched files into CS4 one of my office office Mac Pros (32GB, 8-core, 12 TB RAID, yada yada), and have a leg up on the next day, when some of these batched files would be fed the output ICC tag of ProPhoto RGB to print on an Epson 9800 for proofs that could hang on a gallery wall, which is exactly where my client wanted to be able to hang HER NEF files, after the full process she wanted to implement at her studio, beginning with a Nikon + laptop, next stop, ProPhotoRGB files being fully massaged on a pair of 24” ACDs (LED), then some of these being incorporated into very high-end HD video loops edited in FCP. ProPhoto RGB is the ONLY color space that photo files have a chance in that kind of application, as with so many other pro applications/scenarios; Adobe RGB 1998 may be NTSC-safe, but would be dwarfed by the video gamut, given the type of output monitors being used...
all right, so many, many scenarios are far more mundane, but obviously still ‘professional’ in nature.. I’m illustrating my point with a high-end flashlight so that the spectrum is clear- in so many professional photo, video, layout and graphical, even architectural applications/situations, the 8GB, broadest-gamut capable, big-real-estate, 133 dpi screen rez (AMAZINGLY helpful when editing/viewing fine detail/tonal gradations), and even the 2.93 Ghz chip (I save about 20 minutes a day, by my estimation, with the difference in clock speed alone, for some of the transcoding and Shake-related projects I do), amount to a significant increase in both utility and ‘easy-breathing’ performance- it’s easier to hit the bulleye when your equipment’s not breathing too hard, straining at its limits!
OTOH, if the above sounds like WAY further out to sea than you normally venture, get the smaller, more maneuverable craft. But if you need a rig that gets you between islands as fast and as accurately as possible, the big dog’s your rig. To strain the metaphor a <little> further, it sounds as if you might need the bigger boat, eventually, and RAW files in CS3 go WAY more accurately and speedily on the 17” UMBP- I’d get the blue-water rig, because you never know when you’ll get a job that changes your needs for good- to the bigger! ;^)
    Best,
    Charlie

Is Adobe Reader the same as Adobe Acrobat Reader?

Sorta. There isn't anything called Adobe Acrobat Reader any more, but there was until about 10 years ago (version 5). With version 6 it was renamed Adobe Reader, and it's been that ever since.
There's also Adobe Acrobat, or Acrobat Pro/Acrobat Standard. That's the paid software.

    Hi Josué Cruz,
Insert the 'Interactive Form' UI element in the desired view.
And bind its 'pdfSource' property to the context atribute pdf source. Optionally, you can set height and width of the form.

hello, is there a way to redact a word or item from a pdf using adobe pro X the same way you can if you convert a word doc using pro X on a pc?

If the document is not a scanned image or protected from editing then you should be able to edit it. I would have to guess you have a scan and when you converted to Word, you ran OCR (Optical Character Recognition) on it converting the scanned image to live text.
This is the forum for the free Adobe Reader which can not edit or redact.

  • How do you keyboard scroll an Adobe Reader document the same way as a web page?

When I use the up and down arrows using a browser it simply scroll the page as a whole, not line for line. I can not seem to figure out how to do the same with Adobe Reader. I often have 2 column documents (similar to newspaper width) and find it frustrating scrolling as the cursor jumps around. It's not a smooth transition at all. I am often frustrated with this. How can I fix it? I searched and google and did not find anything. Automatic scroll is the closest I can get it to work. Seems like such a simple task is made complicated.

Windows 7. Document being opened directly with Adobe Reader X 10.1.8.24.
Like I said in the original post I'm using the arrow keys. The page up keys are for scrolling entire pages. I want to smooth scroll as you can with browsers. Can't seem to figure it out. The page keys are choppy and it's easy to loose your place this way. Using the arrow keys only scrows a cursor on the last page the cursor was on. If I skip from page 1 to 10 for example, and my cursor is still sitting on page 1, if I hit the arrow key, it brings me back to page 1.  I experience this on ALL systems using Adobe Reader.

The CC that you have has been activated only once, you can activate it two times, hence you can install&activate it on other computer.
You can also deactivate it from any of the installed machine if you want to activate on third machine.

Is Photoshop Elements the same as Photoshop? I am brand new and have no idea if they are the same or different or what!

Photoshop Elements is a subset of the features found in full Photoshop, and with an organizing component that isn't part of the big program (which includes a deluxe file browser, Bridge, rather than the Organizer found in Elements). More info here:
