Is Adobe working on a Fix?

By far the worst Adobe software release ever. Fireworks is
not even Alpha quality software. The text engine is a mess having
to resort to crappy workarounds or scripts to fix it. The
Application is unstable and it can and will corrupt files on while
saving them. Please Adobe Fireworks team, fix this soon because it
is an incredibly powerful application that is worth using. :-(
For those of us that need this software, you guys should make
the CS3 version available as a download as an interim fix to the
CS4 blunder.

@rootadmin21
Can you try the following instruction mentioned below and see if this helps to solve the problem?
1. Quit all applications running on your system.
2. Navigate to the following 3 mentioned locations and rename the below specified file, i.e "AdobeFnt11.lst"
     On Win XP:
     a. [drive or C:]\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\TypeSupport\AdobeFnt11.lst
     b. [drive or C:]\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\TypeSupport\CMaps\AdobeFnt11.lst
     c. [drive or C:]\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\TypeSupport\CMaps\AdobeFnt11.lst
     On Win Vista:
     a. [drive or C:]\Users\[user name]\Local\App Data\Adobe\TypeSupport\AdobeFnt11.lst
     b. [drive or C:]\Users\[user name]\Local\App Data\Adobe\TypeSupport\CMaps\AdobeFnt11.lst
     c. [drive or C:]\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\TypeSupport\CMaps\AdobeFnt11.lst
3. Also, navigate to [drive or C:]\WINDOWS\system32\"FNTCache.dat" and rename "FNTCache.dat" on your system.
4. Now restart the system once and then launch Fireworks to see if it is working fine for you.

  • ACR 8.5 and Photoshop CC 2014 - after many updates, uninstalls, reinstalls, my copy is still running ACR 8.0. Is Adobe working on a fix - it's a common problem.

Some people are saying to just replace the 8bi file - but I'm sure that this is only half the solution. I am not interested in hand installing software.
Is Adobe working on a fix? I am surely looking forward to having my Lr5 and PsCC 2014 in sync. Very frustrating ....

Follow the below mentioned steps to resolve the issue:
    Quit and Relaunch CC app

Open the Adobe Creative Cloud application.
Mac OS: Go to the Applications folder and open the Adobe Creative Cloud alias.
Windows 7: Go to Start > All Programs > Adobe Creative Cloud
Windows 8: Open the Adobe Creative Cloud application from the Start Screen.
Click the Apps tab in the Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
Click on All Apps, then Previous Version
Your installed CC Product would be listed, Click on Install Drop-down and then select the CC 2014 to install.
After Successful Installation, Update your Product
Let me know if you are still not able to Update ACR.

  • Is Adobe working on a fix for Ext. Mgr?

Most of the questions in this forum appear to be the result of a non-functioning Extension Manager.  Assuming that by now we all know that the add-ons must be compatible with CC 2014, and assuming that we have updated the programs we use, we are all still finding problems trying to use add-ons.  None of these questions has been answered, except to explain that some add-ons no longer work.  That doesn't explain why add-ons listed as compatible with 2014 don't work, or why add-ons that show up in Ext Mgr in the list for a 2014 app do not show up in the app itself--i.e., don't work. I believe that if one can install and enable even one app for 2014 that works (e.g., new Kuler app), then the extensions window link won't be grayed out any longer.  BUT, the rest of the problems remain.
This is very disruptive of many people's work flow.  Is there any available answer?  Is there a fix in the works?  What are we to do please?  I would appreciate any response at all from Adobe.
    G

I agree with the above. Adobe applications are typically expensive and powerful tools but they lose their lustre when plugins/addon's do not function or require a PHD to install. I recently purchased a Plugin for Lightroom4.4 and have all but given up trying to install it. Seem to be a variety of ways to perform this but I've yet to solve it. So far my $$ have left my wallet but the product has not been delivered.

  • Adobe Flash Player 10 Fix for WinXP and Vista, IE7, IE8, Firefox, ect.(New Fast Fix)

(This is a possible solution for most users) I have found that inside the folder C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash (WinXP Home/Pro) (Computer > C: Drive > Windows > System32 > Macromed > Flash for Vista) there should be a file named FlashUtil10b.exe (IF NOT YOU SHOULD UPDATE AS SPECIFIED!) (or FlashUtil10a.exe or for older versions something similar depending on your version), which is the update utility for flash player. Click on this and if it updates, you will have to restart your computer. This should fix any missing files, and update you to the latest version.
On a side note to all those who read this, I downloaded and installed 5 different times, the same version, from different websites, all for the "new" flash version, and they didn't work (this also included trying to update Shockwave player itself). Apparently, going directly to the website and downloading a new version of Adobe Flash Player, and installing, doesn't uninstall the older version, (though it says it does nor does the uninstaller work directly from the website) nor fixes the problem. I assume they are aware of this problem, because they included this bug fix in revision 10b. This fix should work for those of you whom cannot view/see flash images as well. There also appears to be a bug/reference problem with the installation of IE8 giving the error "Missing Shockwave Decompression XTRA", when trying to play a Shockwave/Flash file, which seems also to affect Firefox and other browsers. It doesn't recognize that the folder or files that it needs in it, exist. I never had his problem before, until IE8 was installed. I checked which version I had in the system32 folder and found this updater built in to Adobe. Version 10a does NOT automatically update, but version 10b includes this fix. I currently had version 10a when I received this error, and began digging for a solution. Doing the update as described above fixed the problem, and updated it to version 10b.
The new flash version 10b has some new features, such as volume control, auto-updating, and several rendering options for those who may have a faster or slower computer/video card.
I found this works great for XP users but unsure of the Vista users. The process is the same  for Vista and the update should still work the same, as long as you run it as Administrator, I assume. I have this also posted on wwwdslreports.com at http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22115254-IE-IE8-and-Adobe-Flash-Question and here http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r22361930-Adobe-Flash-Player-10-Fix-for-WinXP-IE 8-Firefox-ect. It appears to work for everyone so far. I have not heard of any problems from users with this problem running the RC (Release Canidate) for Windows 7 yet.
I hope this works to your benefit.
Please leave a reply to help Adobe and other users know if this fix worked for you or not. If not, please explain what you did, and the effects your seeing, including operating system, site of the flash file trying to view, browser type (ex. IE6, IE7, IE8, Firefox, Opera, ect.), and I will try to help you as best I can.
(I would strongly recommend those not using IE8, or Firefox 3.5, get the updated versions)
If your looking for uninstallers go to this site: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
If your looking for a true full install, you can download this developer version for Windows and Mac: http://download.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/updaters/10/flash_player_update2_flash10.zi p (44MB) (If you download this, I would recommend you still follow my instructions for the Flash Utility before restarting your computer.)

I would recommend all users having problems try the above solution first.
I have posted this on a couple of websites, and so far it has fixed everyones problems.
Firefox 3.5 Beta 4 has Adobe Flash Player coding built into the browser so that it not only loads faster but works better.
You still need to have the Adobe ActiveX plug-in and Adobe Flash Player for both browsers.
I would also recommend you download Shockwave Player 11.
IE8 has tried this as well, but it still has a couple bugs in it.
If you have IE8 or FireFox 3.5 Beta 4, and you are still having problems, then I recommend that you go to www.windowsupdate.com and get all of the latest updates (including SP3), then try this fix again.
Your auto-updater built into windows (If you even have it on) doesn't always pull down every update available for your computer. It only pulls down the manditory ones.
Sometimes you HAVE to go to the website and manually get them yourself. I recommend when you go to the website, you click on custom install and pick every last one of them to install, which includes, hardware and software fixes for your computer.
What a lot of people don't know is that when you have installed and tried all of the recommended fixes that Adobe gives you, and it still doesn't work, is that you are having registry conflicts within your Operating System (OS ex. WinXP, Vista, Linux, ect.), and that it is not the Adobe software at all.
Those are usually repaired by making sure your computer stays up to date.
The fact is the computer world is changing so rapidly that everyone can't keep up. You have to check for updates weekly.
If you fall behind on those updates, then you start having problems with your computer and/or software.
One problem then can turn into many and people get frustrated when something all the sudden just quits working.
Take a day or two at least once a month, and make sure you update and maintain your computer.
This includes disk defragmenting, disk cleanup, and making sure you have all the lastest updates.
You can get to Disk Defrag, and Disk Cleanup by going to Start, All Programs, Accessories, then to System Tools.
I would do Disk Cleanup first, then Defrag.
I hope you take this advise into consideration, and that it is very helpful for you.
If you find this useful, please come back and reply to this forum, and let everyone know so that others will be encouraged to do this.
Thanks and goodluck, from another user like you.

  • After resetting Firefox, all of my PDF files now have the Firefox icon. I don't like this. Is Mozilla working on a fix for this?

As stated, I used the reset feature in Firefox and immediately afterward the icon on all of my PDF files changed to the Firefox icon. Hopefully Mozilla is working on a fix for this??

This solved my problem. Got my Adobe icons back. Hope the other people having the same problem see this solution - it was pretty painless compared to some of the other solutions I read about.
    Thanks Philipp.

This fix worked on Windows Vista Business Edition (32-Bit).

I have windows XP media center. I uninstalled Acrobat 8 to download Acr 9 pro extended. No adobe printer was installed .
Tried the steps given here by Steve Lionel. I was able to add the "Adobe PDF Converter" as printer. Although after the 7th step in Steve's fix, the wizard asked me to search for some files (from XP CDrom) which I was able to locate in the Windows folder-drivers folder and the system32-spool folder.
I went to acrobat, opened a pdf file and tried to print with this printer and saved it on the desktop. A file appears, but adobe cannot open it however it activates adobe illustrator and opens in that program.
Lots of time has gone. No solution yet.
    Appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Update!!!
I tried printing on this printer from a webpage and it converted the webpage like charm.
I am more than happy even if I get to use this printer to convert webpages to pdf as now I don't have to install those shady pdf converters and printer drivers.
This is good as the fix given here works even for XP.
    Thanks for this wonderful solution.

  • SO tired of waiting on .pdf pages to populate. Shame on Firefox. I shouldn't be spending my time trying all of your workarounds. Just make Adobe work!!

Adobe works fine on my other browsers. I don't have time to read and try all these fixes. It is YOUR job to fix the browser!
.pdf will load if I sit and nurse each page, waiting for it to fully populate, then scroll down to the next page to do the same, and so on. This is absurd.

You can change the action for Portable Document Format (PDF) from Preview in Firefox to use another application like the Adobe Reader or set to Always Ask in "Firefox > Options/Preferences > Applications".
You can set the pdfjs.disabled pref to true on the <b>about:config</b> page to disable the build-in PDF viewer.
You can check the value of the plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref on the about:config page and remove the application/pdf part if present or reset the pref to the default via the right-click context menu if you want to display PDF documents in Firefox with another application (i.e. not the built-in PDF Viewer).

  • When i press "Alt" imac runs the command "duplicate" or "copy". It interferes with work, how to fix it?

    Good day!
I have this problem: when i press "Alt" my imac runs the command "duplicate" or "copy". It interferes with work, how to fix it?
    Thank you.

    Hi, thank you!
For example when I work in Nuke, and press "option" (for navigation), after I will release the "option", selected node will be duplicated.
The same issue, but with copying happens when I'm working in blender and hold the "option" to navigate - I see the message "copied selected objects to buffer".
Maybe it's some additions to the finder, which I could set a long time ago? In any case, how to fix it?
    Thanks in advance!

Recent iOS update has made my iPad 2 unusable. The screen locks up. It's very laggy and web pages do not load correctly.  Is there a fix for this or are they even working on a fix.

    Try some basic troubleshooting:
    (A) Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    (B) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (C) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

Is apple working of a fix for this update error?  8.0.1 needs 610mb of space. Every time I try to install the latest update, I get this error:  "Updating to iOS 8.0.2 requires at least 610 MB of free space on your iPhone. Please change your media sync options to make more storage available."  There is way more space than that on my phone, (about 12gB) and no matter what i do, I keep getting this error.  And what the heck are media sync options?
Also, my phone will not backup, giving me another error.  iTunes could not backup this phone, because it could not back up to this computer, or something to that effect.  Even trying to manually backup to iCloud, i get the same message about this computer.  Seems like it started with the last update to iTunes.

  • Is Apple still working on a fix for PC?

Because I'm starting to feel it's all a ploy to get people to buy macs.
    It used to work right.
P.S...... for every PC/itunes user posting with problems on this board, there's many more of us lurking & waiting for the solution that works to appear on here.

"Is Apple working on a fix for PC?" is actually my question, too.
I'm one of those who has been lurking around for a while reading fixes and suggestions without previously posting. I had previously installed every update of iTunes since 4.7 without any issue. My iPod (a 40g photo) has the newest updates installed. My situation was the seemingly succesful install of the 5.0.1 update at first, then the connection to iPod/ 'please reinstall' error that reinstalling did not correct, and then it stopped working at all.
I was relieved to find this forum and tried every fix I found here... uninstalled completely (including a reg clean), checked my admin login, made sure my Windows XP was completely updated, disabled my antivirus even though I didn't have the file that's supposed to be the problem, disabled firewall, downloaded QT standalone and installed, downloaded iTunes and installed, plenty of restarts in between (always disabling antivirus), etc. Hours gone, same problem. I was eventually able to reinstall 4.9 successfully and re-import my library using a renaming fix found on this site, and that's been working fine for a week or so.
The only issue is that I did have to give my copmuter a second permission to play my iTunes-purchased songs, so I do feel a bit like I was cheated out of my five computer allowance. Are there any possible fixes for this?
Now I've been surfing back through these topics to see if there is any word that Apple is working on the problem or assurance that future updates won't have these issues. I really can't spend another two or three days trying to install an iTunes update that won't work. How will I know if the problem is fixed and a new version is safe to try again? Does anyone know anything about this?
    Thanks.

  • Is Adobe working on a version of Shockwave for the iPad?

Is Adobe working on a version of Shockwave for the iPad? I've tried to access the Junior RAI site on my iPad.  It uses Shockwave.  It has great content for children, but the site is blank because I don't have shockwave on my iPad.  There are many sites like this.

There is no Shockwave Player for iOS, and I don't think there will ever be one.  Same for Flash Player.
