Is airplay mirroring not working for macbook air?

Bought my macbook in March of this year and Apple TV last month. Upgrated to mountain lion and airplay mirroring is producing a black screen. Anyone know how to get this working

I had same problem: Mid 2011 MBA, AppleTV2 all updated. Both were on 5GHz network, with failure to connect or lag (delays of up to 20secs in video updating). I changed the AppleTV to 2.4GHz, and the MBA to 2.4GHz, it worked more consitently. I tried audio only and it worked perfectly with both using 2.4GHz, then reactivated video, which then worked better but not perfectly. Have now changed MBA to 5GHz network and it's working perfectly.
I believe this is because I'm streaming in HD to the MBA from webtv (on 5GHz), which is then streaming out the MBA (on 5Ghz) to the router and then from the router on 2.4GHz to the AppleTV. This helps to divide up the (radio) bandwidth.

Webcam not working for Macbook Air 2013 after upgrading to OSX Mavericks? Yahoo/ Google/Skype cam chats not working. Facetime works though. Any updates of Mavericks released to fix this?

I have a MacBook Pro Retina display: 15.4-inch late 2015 with OS X Mavericks install, only on second week.
Insight works on FaceTime, Skype, but yahoo program does not show insight cam in dropped down.
Now when I got my new MacBook Pro, I down loaded all new Skype (worked tested), FaceTime (Worked Tested), Yahoo (not worked)
    Fix:
With the new Maverick you have to use there messager program Version 8.0 (4218). Once I add my yahoo account video works again.
It also supported AOL, AIM, Google Talk, Jabber.
Guess I miss it frist time... hope this helps...

  • Camera not working for macbook air

It's a macbook air A1370, iOS 10.8.3. The build-in camera is not working. Both Facetime and photobooth show that the camera is not connected. I checked the system info, under the usb session, the build-in camera is there. I followed some posts and reset the SMC, not helping.
    What should I do?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!

tdingsh wrote:... Is there a way to re install the camera driver? ...
Yes.  Follow the instructions for reinstalling your Mac OS X.  All necessary drivers are automatically installed by the OS X installer.
tdingsh wrote:... Apparently ... computer is not detecting the in-built camera ...
By using your Mac''s (option) > System Information... menu command, you can be certain whether your Mac detects its camera.
When the System Information window opens, click on "USB" under "Hardware" in the sidebar.  Then look in the USB Device Tree window pane that opens when you select "USB". Click ALL right-facing triangles ( ▶) so they point down (▼) and reveal all individual items.
If your camera is nowhere in the USB Device Tree window pane, your Mac does NOT recognize the cam.
Resetting the SMC using the instructions for your specific Mac model may restore camera function.

  • Airport Express not working for MacBook Air, ok for iMac

I connect to the internet via wireless broadband; the ethernet cable from the broadband antenna plugs into my Airport Express router.  I run both my 27" iMac desktop and my 13" Mac Book Air off the Airport Express router.  To the best of my knowledge, nothing has changed with my internet provider's settings.
Since Friday, the MacBook Air internet connection barely works; if a page loads, it takes forever (and I have a very fast broadband connection.)  Checking the same connection on the iMac has no delay and loads instantly.  On the laptop, if the page does load, and I click a link on that page, the link takes me to a new page requesting me to log in to my internet provider, or just fails to load.  I get lots of "page failed to load; interneet connection was reset....".
I have checked network settings on both machines and they appear to be just fine.  I have run diagnostics and it shows everything working fine.
I ran Disk Utility (permissions repair and verify disk) and have no problems.
I have tried restarting the laptop several times.
    Software is up to date.
I don't think it's the internet server or the connection since it's working on the desktop Mac.
I'd appreciate any suggestions or things to try; I read about doing soft and hard resets but am reluctant to try that since Airport is working for the desktop computer just fine.

  • AirPlay Mirroring not working on MacBook Pro (Mid 2012, OS X 10.7.4)

I am trying to mirror the display of my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012, OS X 10.7.4) to my TV using the latest AppleTV. AirPlay works from iTunes to the AppleTV, but I don't have an AirPlay icon in my Display Preferences to project whatever's on the screen to the AppleTV. What could be wrong..? Thanks in advance.

You need to update to Mountain Lion. Purchase it in the Mac App Store.

AirPlay mirroring not working but AirPlay is?

I'm in the same boat.  Apple TV & iPad absolutely, positively up to date.  Airplay working.  When you swipe left to right, airplay icon is in fact present.  However, the only options are:
I've root boot iPad, Apple TV, Airport extreme, computer same network (should have no bearing but why not) with no results.  Only options for Airplay are iPad & Apple TV.  HELP.

  • Airplay mirroring not working as expected

    Hi,
Both the Audio and Mirroring function with airplay isn't working for me. I just can't select my Apple TV as an audio source and the Mirroring function just sends a screenshot before turning itself off.
    Anyone with similar experiences?
EDIT: AirParrot is working just great so there's no problem with my network.

  • HT201343 Airplay not working for MacBook 2010

How is it that a relatively new MacBook 2010 wouldn't be able to use airplay mirroring, and why is there no information about that up front? I purchased mountain lion expressly for this function and only now discover my MacBook is too old?
Or am I missing something...(i hope so)

Lots of people are disappointed. Including me.
    I have a mid 2010 iMac.
Most of us did our research and knew that our machines were "Not Airplay Mirroring" capable so we don't feel cheated or robbed.
Lot's of other nice features for some people, other people don't like or want the new features.
They have a choice of upgrading to Mountain Lion or not.
It wasn't like they made you purchase Moutain Lion, nor did they tell you your machine could use Airplay Mirroring.
It was your decision to buy Mountain Lion.
Myself, I am waiting for the new iMacs to come out sometime later this year.
I will then decide whether I want to upgrade to a new iMac or not depending on what new hardward the machines come out with.
    Good Luck

  • Airplay icon not appearing on Macbook Air (mid 2011). Everything is updated, can someone please help me out??

Hey, so I just bought an Apple TV specifically to mirror my Macbook Air screen to my TV.
My Mac is mid 2011 so it whould be working, I'm wondering if there is a setting I have missed or something?

Anybody know how I can fix this??

According to other discussion threads I need Mountain Lion? I'm on 10.7.5 is that Lion? My Mac says I have no new software updates though? So confused!

  • Why is AirPlay mirroring not working with MacbookAir

    Hi,
I bought Apple tv yesterday but the airplay mirroring is not working with my macbook air (Mid 2011).
Would you tell me Why? and How can I resolve this?
    Regards

    Supported Macs
AirPlay Mirroring in OS X Mountain Lion takes advantage of the hardware video encoding capabilities of 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core processors. Hardware video encoding allows AirPlay Mirroring to efficiently deliver high frame rates while maintaining optimal system performance. The following Mac models have processors that support AirPlay Mirroring:
    iMac (Mid 2011 or newer)
Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer)
MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer)
are you sure its mid 2011 Air?
    If so--

  • Airplay mirroring not working on iPad 2

I have an ipad 2, updated to ios5. Apple TV, updated. Wi-fi working fine.
Already went through the troubleshooting list. No problem there.
But my ipad DOES NOT SHOW THE AIRPLAY ICON anywhere.
I slide the multitasking bar to the right and it only shows the itunes icon with controls to play music, that's all.
I stand in front of my appleTV, nothing.
    Turn bluetooth off, nothing.
    What else can I do?

I have read through this and many other posts with similar issues.
ipad 2 at 5.1.1 and ATV2 with latest firmware
Airplay mirroring works between ATV2 & iphone 4S and airplay works between ATV2 & iphone 3GS/iTouch.
On ipad2, I can enable airplay & airplay mirroring and it works for several seconds.  Then the AppleTV option disappears mementarily from the Airplay list and then reappears with AppleTV deselected.
I have done a hard reset of ipad2 and power cycled the ATV2 & router.   I have a strong wifi signal from the router at the point of test so I don't suspect that is the issue.
When I bought the ATV2 around May, Air Play worked with the iPad2.   After reading other posts, I am starting to suspect that the update of the ipad2 to 5.1.1 may have been around the time Airplay stopped working.  Other posts seem to point to problems when this was loaded too.
Any ideas on other things to try are welcome.   Otherwise hope this helps contribute to knowledge base for others having similar issues.  With many similar issues reported with iPad2 and 5.1.1 with Airplay, I am hoping this gets resolved with next update.

  • Camera is not working on MacBook Air 6,2 with Bootcamp and Windows 7 Pro 64-bit -- how to fix?

I have a MacBook Air 6,2 that has been Bootcamp'd with Windows 7 x64 Pro. Everything works find except for the camera, which does not appear to work at all. In the Windows Device Manager it shows the camera as installed with a working driver, but the camera never turns on.
Any ideas on how to make it work?

    Hi,
If there is no error after the disk checking, please temporary disable antivirus, update BIOS and device drivers such as hard drive from computer manufacturer’s
    website to check the result.
If the issue persists, I suggest you boot in Safe Mode, and clear the temp folder. Delete every files that can be deleted.
    C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Temp

  • HP Laserjet Pro 1102w Wireless (Not working on MacBook Air 10.10)

HP Laserjet Pro 1102w Wireless is not working on my MacBook Air Yosemite (v10.10).

All I get under printers is the USB kind and NOT the Wireless/Bonjour kind.
    Can anyone help me out?
    Thanks.

    Hi @Random_Pelican ,
I see that you are having issues setting up the printer on 10.10. I would like to help you out today.
If the printer has a valid IPv4 address and you still can't add the printer as a Bonjour printer, most likely Multicasting is turned off on the router, since your not able to add the printer as a bonjour device and the other devices won't recognize the printer. Just call the router company and have them turn it on.
If the printer doesn't have a valid IPv4 address please try these steps:
Reset the printer first to clear out any previous network settings.
Turn the printer off, hold down the wireless button and cancel (x button) while turning the printer back on and don't release the two buttons until the printer stops making noise.
Print out a configuration report and make sure the SSID and IP address are cleared.
    Printing a Configuration Page.
Make sure Safari is set as the default browser. Sometime the Embedded Web Server won't open if it isn't.
Open Safari, across the top select the Safari menu, select Preferences, General, set as default.
I will provide the steps for 10.9, which should work the same for 10.10.
Mac OS X: How Do I Find Which Mac OS X Version Is on My Computer?
Here is a Youtube video of the Laserjet P1102w wireless installation on Maverick.
    Laserjet P1102w.
You may follow the steps instead of watching the video.
You have to connect the USB cable from the printer to the computer to install the printer as a USB device first and then configure the wireless network.
Turn the printer on, connect the USB cable and install the Apple Update that should automatically load.
Then go to the Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners.
Highlight the Laserjet on the left side of the window.
Then click on Open Print Queue, click on Settings, click on Utility, click on Open Printer Utility, then click on the HTML Config button.
The Embedded Web Server for the printer will open.
Click on the Networking tab, select Wireless on the left side.
Fill out this information for your network. Status make sure you select Enabled.
    Apply the settings.
Then go back to Apple, System Preferences, Printers and Scanners and click the + sign to add the Laserjet bonjour printer. (might take a couple of minutes to appear) Make sure the printer listed beside use: shows the proper printer name and not the default driver, then click on the add button.
Delete the USB printer from the list from the Printers and Scanners window.
    Disconnect the USB cable.
    Test the printer.
Let me know how you make out.
    Have a great day!

  • Airplay Mirror not working after upgrade to Yosemite

I just upgraded my home Macbook Air to Yosemite (10.10.1) and I can't mirror my display to my Apple TV.  I can stream music to iTunes no problem.  And my work MacBook Air (running Mavericks v10.9.5) will mirror to my Apple TV.  I think it is safe to say there is something wrong with Yosemite and mirroring.
I am open to any ideas, suggestions.  Thanks!
