i can only get black and white with the yellow cable and i don't think there are any other video inputs either. do i need all three of the video cables plugged in to get color?are there any accessories that can change the 3 video cables from the apple tv to one video cable to get color in my one video input?

AppleTV does not support composite (yellow) video output officially, some kind of convoluted trick using various leads was described but not sure this still works for software 3.0.

You would need a component to composite video conversion box, but a decent one would probably be nearly as expensive as an AppleTV.
Also, while you can use an AppleTV with a 4:3 TV, AppleTV is not designed for them so the image may be squashed in on eplane as AppleTV thinks it's outputting 16:9 signal - it has no onboard controls over 4:3 or 16:9 signal but your TV might.

Have you tried deleting the songs from Settings?
Settings -> General -> Usage -> Manage Storage (not the iCloud link!) -> Music and then click Edit to enable you to be able to delete.

TS2755 Updated to ios 7, contacts that I have texted are all messed up, just get a phone number or part of a phone number listed when I text, no name. Not even sure my texts have gone through, no response from recipient.

I have updated to ios 7 as has my daughter. Now when I send her a text all that shows up is her phone number or part of the number, not her name. I'm not even sure she is getting the texts because she hasn't responded at all. She is usually very prompt. Is this a glitch with the new ios?

Actually you are not texting if she has an iOS device. Is the balloon the typing is in blue? Check your Settings>Messages and see if it is activated. You might want to call your daughter and ask her the same thing. Check her contact in your contacts app and see if the number is correct and everything is still there.
Then go into Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. This will not affect data. After that, if iMessage is activated, then try sending her a message.

You will have to contact the person who's account was used to activate the phone, with iOS 7 and activation lock only the owner of an account can remove a device from their account.

I attached my perfectly functioning iPhone 4 to my computer to update and came back to an error message saying I have to do a factory restore which cause me to lose everything recent because I'm not even sure that the backup completed correctly

I left my iPhone attached to my computer to do an update and now I can't use the phone at all. It was taking so long I left it, when I came back there was an erroe message saying that I need to do a factory restore on the phone. It wasn functioning perfectly before I attached it to iTunes to do the update and now since I can't even be sure that the back up completed, I'm faced with losing a lot of stuff recently added to my phone.
I don't want to do a restore, I just want my phone back to how it was this afternoon before I connected it to iTunes.

If the screen shows a plug going to itunes, then you have no choice, It's in recovery mode. You'll be given the chance to restore from a backup either from itunes or icloud.
I assume when you got the message to update (was this for the ios or update some apps?), that was before the device when dead. At any rate, doing a restore does not change the ios.

At wits end on how to use line tool as guide? Not even sure if correct.

I have been trying for hours but maybe it just isn't possible. This would seem to be the simplist way to do but maybe a better way?
I have an area of a subject that I am trying to divide into four triangular segments. I need to shade each area seperately. I have drawn two individual lines that intersect, giving me the required shaped spaces. Nothing was allowing me to work within each area until I used the magnetic lasso to individually select a quadrant. Once I did so I was able to fill the quadrant with color. The problem is when I hide the layer that was created just for the line, (because I DON'T want the line in the picture,) my entire result disappears, the line AND the color.
I have tried many different ways to do this, I can't even list them all. The program automatically created a shape layer for each line. If I hide one of the shape line layers I can still see the result but when I hide the second line shape layer the shaded area and the line go away.
What am I doing wrong? Is there another way to accomplish what I want to do?

You don't have to (see my previous reply), but if you think you might want to experiment with different colours for the shading then I suggest you add a Solid Color Fill Adjustment Layer - one for each quadrant. Then it's easy to experiment with different colours - just double-click in the adjustment layer color section.
If you've not used these before you work slightly differently. First select a quadrant , then add your Solid Fill Layer. Now if you need to refine the edges, with the layer selected, you paint in black or white. White lets your selected colour show through, black conceals it - this is because you are using a mask. In the layers panel you can see which areas are applied or not from the mask thumbnail.
Give it a try. The other thing with this technique is you can experiment with the different blending options and opacity to achieve a specific result.

Help...not even sure right forum...getting old music?

So my laptop crashed recently and i hadn't had a chance to back up purchased music. The ipod we have has a bad battery...when Iplug it into the laptop, it says "please wait very low battery" but never charges enough for the computer to even recognize its plugged in. I tried to go into windows explorer and select show hidden files....but nothing cmoes up. I want to transfer the songs I've paid for that are in that ipod, into itunes i just re downloaded so I can put them on my new ipod. Is there ANY way posible to do this????????????????????

Sorry, but officially Apple does not allow redownloads of purchased items other than iPhone/iPod touch applications. It's your responsibility to make backup copies in case something goes wrong with your system, as unfortunately it apparently did in your case, and you lose all the information on your hard drive. The official statement of their policy can be found here, among other places. If your hard drive was erased and you don't have a backup of your purchased items, and can't get them from your iPod, you're probably out of luck and will need to repurchase your tracks.
If you haven't done so already, you can start a new thread and see if someone can help you get your iPod connected to your computer so you can get the tracks from it, if they were transferred to the iPod previously.
Otherwise, you can try contacting iTunes Store Customer Service (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting) and explaining what happened. Reportedly in some cases Apple has allowed redownloading on a one-time basis. But don't count on it.

Your me address does not necessarily have to be the same as your ID. If you are receiving messages about your password in regard to your me address that is related to your ID, this may well be an issue with mail only. However you should check System preferences> iCloud, to make sure you are logged into the correct account.
First check that all your settings are correct, that calendar syncing is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the calendars you are using are in your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone' or other non iCloud account (you can do this by clicking/tapping the calendar button in the top left corner of the application ), non iCloud calendars will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your calendars are in the iCloud account, you might try unchecking calendar syncing in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling calendar syncing settings.

We are wanting to add an interactive app (may not be the right word) to our website where our customers can customize a package. (for example, view the blue shirt with red pants and green shoes, or decide they want to see the red shirt instead)
A click and drag would be nice, where they could click the items they want to build their package.
What software would be used to create something like this? Flash?
and would it truly be considered an interactive app? is there a name for something like this?

I'm not even sure of what airport I'm using....kinda new to this...

I own a mac mini. The airport is built into it, so I'm not sure what airport it is.
The point is, I'm all updated on my software, et cetera., and all of a sudden, the airport keeps dropping the connection to the internet and to the server -every 20 minutes-. It's absolutely ridiculous. It just started doing it today though, and I downloaded updates last week, I believe. Is this Apple's mistake or something else? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there everyone. I'm trying to locate some tutorials etc on a certain effect. Essentially, I want to use a shot of a camera panning around a room. As it's panning, I want certain text elements to appear, and stay stationary as the camera moves.
For example, the camera pans around a kitchen. When the stove comes into frame, I want text to appear on top of the stove that reads "stove," and I want that text to remain there as the camera pans, rather than move with the camera.
Can anyone help me with what this technique/method is called?

Now I've watched a bunch of tutorials and wrapped my head around motion tracking and getting an object to move with something I've analyzed, here's the new situation:
It's almost like what I want to do is the exact opposite. I'm doing a panning shot of a kitchen counter. When the sugar canister comes into view, I want the word "sugar" floating on top of it, staying locked on top of the canister the whole time. You don't see sugar until the canister comes into view, and as soon as the canister goes out, the word is gone too.
Is that still a form of tracking?

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I have tried as you suggested, and when opening the "purchased" apps some have the icloud logo next to them, but I only have "OPEN" against "Find My iPhone". When opening it up, it goes through the same routine; needs to be updated before proceeding, and wouldn't update because I don't have IOS8.
