Hello I recently purchased a new imac 2013 with fusion drive about five weeks ago I am currently using sounddevices usb-pre2 as my audio interface every 2 to 3 minutes i get audio glitches in the audio whether its itunes or the internet doesn't matter I checked on the internet evey on says its the fusion drive.it *****, I wonder if an update can fix this???

Since updating to OS5 in my itouch I have lost all my library audio books. I have downloaded a couple of new library audio books. The books look like they are being loaded into my itouch but are not there. The only way I can access them is to make a playlist for each book and drag the numbered files into the playlist folder. There are a lot of problems with this method - book chapters are not in order (I have to tried to reorder them without success) and if I stop listening to a book, when it starts again it starts at the beginning of the chapter. Before OS5 I had no trouble with WMA files or anything for that matter. I hope there is a solution soon.

I figured out a solution that works you must disable Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) on the affected system. To do this :
Open Keychain Access. Keychain Access can be found by selecting Go in the Finder and choosing the Utilities option. Keychain access should be listed in the folder that appears. Double-click the Keychain Access icon to open it.
Select Keychain Access -> Preferences from the menu at the top of the screen
Choose the Certificates tab
Change the OCSP option from Best Effort to Off
Close the Preferences dialog and quit Keychain Access
You should be able to NAC now -
I am having trouble sending an audio signal from my computer (mac pro early 2009) to my TV. Is there some interface or adapter that allows /enables the audio input from my computer to be sent to the TV (R,L signal?) any suggestions
just the audio, eh?. If you were using DVI or DisplayPort that might be different, but for audio alone, it shouldn't be that hard. Just grab a 3.5 mm stereo plug to 2 rca cables adapter. Plug the smaller end into the back of your Mac Pro (or the Front), where you see either the headphone or speaker icon). Alt-click on the speaker icon at the top of your screen to show all audio inputs and outputs. Make sure it's set to Line Out. Plug the red and white end into the audio in jacks on the back of your tv and set it to the correct input. I don't know if your tv will allow just the audio to play. Usually one has to connect up something else, but hopefully I'm wrong. If you were using DVI, or DisplayPort, you'd need an active DVI--HDMI adapter or a DisplayPort to HDMI adapter, but

Like the title says. My 1 TB drive failed and unfortunately my computer isn't covered on the replacement program even though my hard drive is the one they are claiming to replace. So that is not a solution just to get that out of the way. So I replaced the hard drive. What I am having trouble with is re-installing my OS. I have 10.6. When I load it and restart it just spits it out and I get the question mark folder. What am I doing wrong is there a step I'm missing? I did do a back up to my Time Machine before the crash. Can I plug it into it and reload format? I'm new to this so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!Well, let's hope that nothing was jiggled out of place when you were installing the new hard drive. Your optical drive may just be out of alignment or the disc you have is "dirty." Get a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol, then clean the disc as thoroughly as you can starting from the center and working outward in a concentric circlular motion. See if that helps. In particular clean the inner portion well.
If this does not help, then you have a problem. You have opened the computer yourself. That action voids all support from Apple. If you take the computer in for service the store may refuse to service the computer. This is not related to your now expired warranty. -

I suspect you are attempting to burn an HD DVD, which will not play on a DVD player...
But if you provide more details such as the settings you are applying in Compressor, then we would be able to provide you more accurate information.
How are you adding the files to Compressor?
In FCP, what are your footage properties (command-9) and sequence settings (command-0) -

I am wondering what options do I have to discover the problem. COuld it be the most recent IOS update? I don't want to have to restore an old backup and loose data.

Since new, my Macbook core duo has sent all audio to all analogue outputs with frequency distortion. Some physical hardware or firmware in the analogue section adds a bass boost to the frequency response of the audio.... And, this boost adds bass frequency distortion to most, if not all, of the audio analogue output.
This happens for all audio sources, players, iTunes, videos, streaming audio/video, movies... any sound source available to the Macbook. No-one with whom I have talked about this problem, has ever heard of it. Not elegant ideas for reducing it are to use equalisers on players and iTunes. iTunes even has a preprogrammed "bass reduce" on its equaliser, as if it knows already that this inherent bass boost "feature" has been built into the Macbook, and cannot be defeated by the user.
The digital audio is of sufficiently high quality to play well on a very good to excellent sound-system; so, it's a shame someone has mucked around with the frequency response of the analogue conversion, by designing the frequency distortion right into the computer. This motherboard, (which includes the sound-section), has been replaced, along with the speakers, and everything sounds exactly the same as it was before.
To receive a flat frequency response and no frequency distortion, I listen on one receiver using Airtunes, (it doesn't matter whether or not the analogue or digital output jack is wired analogue or connected via optical cable.... the freq. response is flat); and I listen on a high-end stereo system using an USB output port to an A/D converter, passing the analogue result using long patch-cords connected to the "line-in" jacks of the stereo. The bummer is that most of my audio sources are not derived from iTunes... hence, I cannot use Airtunes with Airport express for them. I've tried using "Airfoil" without luck. The sound becomes distorted with sibilance and other frequency anomalies.
Question: has anyone else discovered this sound imperfection in any Mac product? And, does anyone know if Apple is aware of it? Finally, has anyone found an Apple fix for the problem; or, at least, come up with better solutions than I have?

M-Audio Black Box with Acoustic/electric guitar plugged in. No sound on monitor or playback in GB. Have tried every setting I can imagine. Seems to recording because I have green bars in the upper left and can hear it on headphone into the M-Audio. Record volume in GB not active - but I'm guessing the M-Audio cancels that. Any ideas? My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now. About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

Audio Interfaces & Fusion Drives?
I am using the newest 27" iMac (3tb fusion drive) w/ an Mbox 3 interface. Every audio related program I have used works fine accept Pro Tools, both 10 & 11. I was hoping 10.9.2 would fix this, but it didn't unfortunately.
I get a crazy amount of error messages during recording and playback in Pro Tools. 6104 CPU Error Message, even though the system usage will be under 5%. Some other errors as well, but there are many threads about this over at the Avid forums, but a lot of people seem to have the same issue with fusion drives & PT.
I don't have an Apple retail store where I live so sending this iMac back and getitng a new one with a regular drive would take well over a month and would be really inconvenient for me.
So I'm wondering if anyone else has had luck with any different audio interfaces w/ fusion drives & Pro Tools (10 or 11).
Again, I have an Mbox 3 & iMac w/ fusion drive. I get error messages (6104 - CPU usage error messages and stuff). I was actually lookign at the Apogee Duet 2, but wouldn't wana get it and find that I get the same error messages in PT as i did with my Mbox.
So if anyone could reccomend an interface that works properly (ne errors) with fusion drives & Pro Tools & 10.9.2 that would be great!So are there any comptabible audio interfaces that work with Pro Tools & Fusion Drives? Does anyone know?

What is the disc utility supposed to look like with a fusion drive
I have bought a brand spanking new iMac 2013 with a fusion drive. I had a bit of a glitch with the set up of boot camp. I have taken it to the apple service centre and they reformated the drive. But I am no expert but it seem as though the computer is really slow, even slower than my 2009 iMac. can any one tell me what the fusion drive should look like in the disc utility? It appears as two seperate drives!? is this right? Can some one please help me?

Any perfect audio hardware setup with the new Macbook Pro?
I'm still not sure if to go for the new Macbook Pro 2.8 ghz, or the 6 months earlier 2.5 ghz model (march 2008).
I love to go for the new Macbook Pro, but I'm not sure about my setup. Now I have:
- extern 7200 rpm bus powered LaCie firewire 800 hard drive
- Saffire with firewire 400 (thinking about moving to Apogee Duet)
Will the express card really help? I've read that if you connect a firewire 400 device to the express card, the firewire 800 won't work at 800 speed, but at 400? Also that a bus powered hard drive doesn't work, and that it needs it's own power to run with the express card?
Bottom line:
What would be the perfect audio hardware setup with the new Macbook Pro? I don't think this is right. As I understand it, the advantage of having one of your devices on an express card slot is specifically so it is on its own bus.
Then both devices will operate on their own speed.
However, this is true for the older model Macbook Pros when you use both FW ports that are built in, because even though the machine has two ports, they each feed one firewire bus. So if you have a device plugged into each port, the one plugged into the 800 will only run at 400 speed because they're both on the same bus. Using an express card means both devices can operate at their own speed.
If you want the newer machine I think you should get it. Then you can buy a firewire 400 express card, plug your interface into that, and plug your FW 800 drive into the main firewire port. This will give you better performance from your peripherals than an older machine with both devices plugged into the built in FW ports.
