Is anybody else having problems with itunes (10.6.3.25) and ipod touch (5.1.1)?

Lately I've been having a ton of problems with iTunes and my iPod Touch (4th generation). Lots of error messages such as can't connect to itunes store, incompatible application, ipod detected but not identifiable, invalid response received from device, unknown errors [mostly (0xE8000001)], problem with audio configuration, etc. I've done everything I could think of. Uninstalling iTunes (with all the components) then reinstalling with the newest version (10.6.3.25), running diagnostics and such. If it does appear (about 2% of the time) then iTunes freezes and/or it won't sync. I also try to change some info (song title, artist, artwork, etc)(when it DOES come up) and it shows up on itunes but not on my ipod. My ipod appears on my computer but not in iTunes under devices like its supposed to. I've been to all the support threads I can possibly find and NOTHING has helped. I also had the latest version for the ipod touch (5.1.1). And I've never had any issues with iTunes or my iPod touch before. I know I should probably try restoring my ipod but I absolutely do not want to do that unless I have to because i have a lot of music, apps, movies, etc I'm not able to back up. Also, I'm using a Windows 7 computer. Please Please help if you can, I am frustrated because I can't do anything.

Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes) then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

You posted this in the OSX 10.4 forum but your computer profile says you are running OSX 10.6.8 Which system version you are running makes a big difference.

Anybody else having problems with airplay with ios 5.1 on iphone 4s

So i bought an iphone 4s a few months back and it came with ios 5, i then tryed it with my airplay speakers and they kept cutting out so i googles about it and found there was a known problem with iphone 4s and airplay speakers.
ios 5.0.1 then came out a few weeks later and the problem seemed to be fixed and i was happy as they worked fine after that
ios 5.1 then came out so i updated my 4s to this and started playing music through airplay and they started to cut out again, i turned them off and on and it happened again, then i reset them to my wifi router and the problem still occured
Is anybody else having this problem with airplay on there iphone 4s running ios 5.1?
If so, apple really need to sort this out! I bought my iphone with high expectations and to pay all that money for it not to work is not good

Arrgh! Is anybody else having problems with the Adobe Acrobat open source approach to handling PDF files? I am getting as many as three crashes and full reboot per day and the delays are terribly frustrating.

Is anybody else having this problem? Does anybody have any idea how to fix the conflict?

Is anybody else having problems with iOS 7.1 and Home Sharing?

I have two iPhone 4's - one I recently upgraded to iOS 7.1 and the other running 6.3.1. The phone upgraded to 7.1 will not connect to my (rather large iTunes library) on my Mac Mini (running 10.9.2). The 7.1 phone does see the library - and attempts to connect - but the progress indicator stops at about 50%.
I've tried de-activating sharing on the Mini and then re-activating. I've tried restoring the 7.1 phone from a back-up. No change.
Also - now the 6.3 phone will connect to the library - but the playlists have no entries and 99% of the library is missing.
Before the upgrade - the phone now running 7.1 never had any issues with Home Sharing.
Anyone else out there having issues with iOS 7.1 and Home Sharing?

I've had no problems with Facebook on my iPhone 5 but here are a couple of suggestions.
1. Quit Facebook like I describe then reset the iPhone. Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart.
2. If the first thing doesn't help, quit Facebook again, delete Facebook, and reset the iPad. After the iPad restarts use the App Store app to download Facebook again.

Iomega network drive no longer connects under iTunes 10.5 - lost access to all my songs. Anyone else having problems with iTunes 10.5 / IOS 5?

I have an Iomega 500Gb network drive (Connects via CAT5 cable to hub) It contains all of the music in my iTunes. It worked fine until I upgraded iTunes to 10.5 (and installed IOS5 / iCloud). Now, I can no longer access ANY of the music. The drive shows as a device in iTunes, but when I click it, it displays the songs for a split second, but they then disappear and I connot access them. The Iomega drive functions normally when accessed via a Windows browser.
Anyone else with this problem?

FYI: It seems it was a network problem with my WinXP PC. After complete deletion and new installation of XP and iTunes my iPhone will be recognized correctly, Wifi synchronization works (mostly) fine.

Anybody else having problem with bluetooth connection in vehicle

I have had the iPhone 4s for about 10 days now, and my problem is lag time connecting to the Bluetooth in my vehicle. When I make a call from the phone, the Bluetooth doesn't connect until the call is picked up on the receiving end. In other words I never hear the phone ringing, nor do I hear the person I am calling say hello. Apple has sent me a new phone, it has the same problem. They think its my vehicle. Called Toyota for Bluetooth upgrade, they said I should not need one. My previous 2 phones hooked up without a problem. Yesterday I tried my sons iPhone 4, it hooks up immediately. So I am assuming the 4s has a software issue. Which Apple is not as yet aware of. Anybody else with this problem. Andre

I understand your frustration with not getting a 4G signal in Chicago. Are you still experiencing this issue? The post below yours states that a power cycle corrected the issue. I did check my references and I am not showing a 4G outage in Chicago from the 19th.

Is anyone else having problems with iTunes 11.3.1.2 for windows8 64bit? Whenever I start it up, it crashes immediately.

I cannot run iTunes 11.3.1.2 and I cannot figure out how to reinstall the older version that it replaced. Any help?

The latest ios firmware update for the iPOD TOUCH (4.3.3.) has accidently removed the special speakers menu from the B&W Zeppelin Air.
How can this problem be reported to Apple to fix it ??????????????????

I recently purchased an infiniti FX35 with the ipod integration. After visiting the local apple store "Genius Bar" and speaking on the phone with an "apple expert"; neither the genius bar or the apple expert heard of such an integration option in new cars being sold. They wanted more information from me about how it work rather than them assisting me with my problem.
Anyway, after alot of experimenting I got my ipod touch 2G running firmware 3.1 to work somewhat consistently.
Turn off wi-fi on the touch, power off then back on, go the ipod menu and select playlist. Attach the touch to the infiniti supplied cable through the dock connector. Select the ipod option from dash board. Playlist, songs, artists, etc will appear on the dash display and begin playing.

When plugging the iPod into iTunes and it loads then click on the iPod tab and then press the Update button if it does not propmt you itself.

Anybody else having problems with Tiffen DFX 2?

I recently upgraded my Tiffen DFX to version 2 (Photoshop) and have run into a couple of problems. I thought it would be worth seeing if anyone else is experiencing the same. If you don't know DFX, it's a very cool and actually useful set of photographic correction and effect filters. The new Photoshop version brings most of the features from the standalone (layering, masks) into Photoshop, making it finally actually useful.
The first problem I noticed was color calibration. When I choose DFX from the filter menu, the preview is noticeably more saturated and contrasty than the image in Photoshop, making it difficult to do accurate work. There don't seem to be any settings in DFX to allow fixing of this.
The second problem comes when trying to load a saved "Setup" - Tiffen's terminology for a preset of settings that I previously saved. Saving them works fine - go to File->Save Preset, navigate the very non-standard file dialog, and save. But any attempt to File->Load Setup causes DFX to freeze and requires a force-quit of Photoshop.
I have support requests in to Tiffen, but would love to know if any other DFX users have the same problems.
My specifics: MacBook Pro running 10.5.5, PS CS3 10.0.1, not sure what else might be relevant.

Do Not Disturb scheduling feature will resume normal functionality after January 7, 2013. Before this date, you should manually turn the Do Not Disturb feature on or off.
To turn off the scheduling feature, tap Settings > Notifications > Do Not Disturb and switch Scheduled to Off.

Is anybody else having problems with their iPhone 5 screen responding?

I had my previous iPhone 5 for just under a year when I had to have it replaced 3 weeks ago due to screen faults. Everything worked perfectly until this morning when I tries to check my bus timetable - the entire phone froze and I had to restart it. Then I tried to send an email and the keyboard kept typing letters I hadn't pressed, and repeating the letters I had 10 times. I shut down the app I was using and tried to open another, only to find that the screen had become completely unresponsive. Once I had restarted it again, the same thing kept happening.
Does anybody have any idea what this could be or how I can fix it?

if the issue comes from the software, try to reinstall a new software by iTunes. If this does not work, the issue may have come from the hardware, therefore, I suggest you to contact Apple Services.

Anybody else having problems with Mountain Lion restrictions on unknown applications?

After upgrading to the new Mountain Lion OS X 10.8 i can't open an application I already had downloaded that worked on the previous OS X Lion.
It came up with a message saying it wouldn't open because of an unknown developer, and I read you can get around it by right click or option click and open.
When I tried this it didn't come up with a message saying it wouldn't open, but the application still didn't open. Anyone come across this problem and figure out how to fix it?

If you open System Preferences>Security & Privacy. Under the General tab choose to Allow Applications downloaded from anywhere.
Now you should be able to launch the application.
A couple caveats:
I assume the app in question is one you used before and is from a know developer that you trust.
It's probably a good idea to restore the Allow Downloads setting back to one of the two more restrictive setttings.

For Those Having Problems with iTunes 7.0 Not Recognizing Your iPod

Hello all:
So I was having the same issues that I have seen many others have. I install iTunes 7.0 and can no longer get my iPod to connect. I was about ready to uninstall and revert back to 6.0.5. However, I tried this instead:
1. Close iTunes.
2. Connect iPod.
3. Go to Control Panel.
4. Add/Remove Programs
5. Find iTunes and highlight it but do not select Remove.
6. Select Change.
7. Select the option to Repair.
8. Let the repair finish and select Finish when done.
9. Open iTunes and your iPod will hopefully show up.
Confirmed to work with 1st Gen 4GB nano on Windows XP Pro SP2. YMMV.

BTW, this is only a temporary fix as you will have to do this each time you reconnect to your computer. I know it is a hack but something is better than nothing until Apple releases a fix.

It sounds like an app you installed is not functioning correctly. I recommend starting with these steps from the article named:

Close the app and open it again.
Restart your device
Turn the device off and on.
Update your device software and your apps
Update your device to the latest version of iOS.

You might need a Wi-Fi connection to update some apps.
