Is Anyone at Apple Noting Problems Installing v11.1.4.62

This new version seems to be causing an awful lot of problems, at least with Windows compatibility, I thought I had it all working properly after painstakingly following HT1923 to strip all Apple SW from my computer and re-install. This evening, problems began to reoccur in the form of no response from iTunes only fixed with a cold start. I just don't know wether or not to go back to a last November version which worked faultlessly and wait for this version to be fixed with something more stable. I am running Windows 7.

I have been into computers for about 25 years now and it really ticks me off that after all these years these companys can not put out something that works. Problem installing v11 client

Hi,
I tried installing v11 of the client on XP. The install brings up a command window and then immediately fails. Is there a log file for the installer?
It also broke my MS Oracle provider I was previously using in my application. Now I get a strange OCIEnvCreate error when I try to connect to the database. The v11 client doesn't appear in my Oracle universal installer or in my Add/Remove programs.
Has anyone else encountered this? Any help would be appreciated.

OUI logs to the following directory:
C:\program files\Oracle\Inventory\logs
If the command window immediately fails after launching setup.exe, it will not install the 11g client. So, you shouldn't see any changes to your Oracle Home.
However, once you install 11g client, OUI will make this new Oracle Home the deafult client for all existing .NET applications since the Oracle Home is unmanaged. You can resolve this issue by modifying the Windows PATH and setting your previous Oracle Home bin directory first in the PATH. For your 11g .NET app, you can specify it use the 11g Oracle client Home through the following mechanism:

I think setting this parameter may help the issue but the initial issue regarding the removal of the sequence structure and the variable not clearing could be due to data flow. By using the sequence structure you are forcing the execution flow. I think what was happening is that you were getting a kind of race condition that either a delay or a sequence structure help solve the issue.

IF RESET DOESN'T WORK, FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port. Do not release button until you see picture of iTunes and plug (very important)
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note: Data will be lost

Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.

Mac is ok. apple genius and tech support can't help me and say I need to go to microsoft. In fact the tech support was unaware that windows was loaded on by the apple retail store. hey mate i used to have the same problem and i got computers maintenance guys out to fix it in the end and all it was, was the router.. got a new one and it was all good after that! i think some routers just arent compatible for some reason or another.

Hold c and reboot off the 10.6 disk, run the installer.
If the machine your upgrading is the 2006, I'd highly advise you stay on 10.6.8
It's a 5 year old machine, you're in the last life stages of that machine and 10.7 will push it right over the edge.
10.6 is a GOOD upgrade for that machine, faster than 10.7 or 10.5.
And 10.6 will run your 10.5 software, 10.7 will not.
Get iCloud with a new 10.8 machine coming out after this summer, seriously.
Your machine is too old to bother with Lion.
Or else you can learn yourself and use this link to get back to Snow, good luck finding your 10.5 programs.

Settings > iTunes and App store > Apple ID = Sign Out... Then Sign In using the preferred Apple ID.
It should be Noted that anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID.

I did it the .dmg way alone and has problems with itunes crashing. This is a better way to ensure that there is not anything left behind to cause issues.
You need to backup your computer then uninstall I-tunes and reinstall itunes.
Delete iTunes
Deleting iTunes is not recommended unless you know what you’re doing.
Launch Terminal from the UTILITIES within Applications
Type the following commands:
cd /Applications/
This brings you into the Applications directory, the next command deletes iTunes itself:
sudo rm -rf iTunes.app/
Enter the Administrator password to confirm
There is no warning or confirmation other than entering the admin password, iTunes will immediately be deleted, effectively uninstalling it from the Mac.
Deleting the iTunes application will NOT delete the ITUNES or music, and any purchases bought through iTunes will still remain tied to the Apple ID used to originally buy them.
You can download the newest version from Apple, and running their installer will bring iTunes back to life on your computer.

I imagine a ton of people are attempting to download it right now. Simple patience, maybe keep trying, and if possible, try a little later. Think of it as all those people lining up at Apple Stores + about a million more.

Clearly there are some applications I need to remove and no doubt my HD could do with a 'spring clean'. My Mac 'Safe Booted' when I turned it on this morning.
I use many different softwares, some web-based. The decision to upgrade to OSX Yosemite is because I was unable to attend a Webinar this week using GoToMeeting downloadable software. GoToMeeting have upgraded their system and my OS is no longer supported. Other websites like VImeo no longer support my version of Safari. I tend to use Chrome if Safari isn't compatible.

I'm thinking of upgrading from v10.6.8 Snow Leopard to OS X Yosemite. However I have noticed that my MacBook Pro becoming ‘slow’ over the last 3 weeks and therefore might have some issues that need to be resolved before I even consider installing OSX Yosemite.
