Is anyone capable of helping

Since joining BT vision , I have had problems most times we cant view bt sport , tonight I rang asking again why. My bt socket and adaptors are over as you come in sitting room door , TV in meft hand corner , now openreach put these sockets where they are , I pointed out at the time shouldn't they be next to the TV the guy told me its infinity it picks up the signal ( who am I to disagree)  well appears not the case I should have a cable which runs from modem to TV , I do have a long cable but do to our age we just cant lift heavy furniture and carpets to run a cable under the carpet , tonight I was told to move the TV over to the door , I asked the guy to repeat yes that's what he said , I said you actually expect ppl to move a TV back and forth over to a doorway , block themselves in and move it back when they are finished ,surely openreach should have put it somewhere it would work in first place , I need help who in BT has the brains to help us , even my broadband speed drops , the guy wants me to sit with a Ethernet cable next to my modem , ermmmm its network , I should get a signal in the garden , I may be getting on a bit , but not that stupid that I don't know I don't need to be connected to my modem --------------its worked this way 7 years now I need to connect , wondering  why I ever left my last server--------------no yes it was the offshore call centres that annoyed me  same as BT what ever that may stand for

Hi jannette,
The wireless signal from the BTHomeHub that you can use with a desktop/laptop PC (or a tablet or mobile phone) from anywhere in the house or garden is not suitable for the BTTV service. That type of signal is not robust enough for watching the extra live TV channels which can be in HD. Therefore BT have decided not to put a wireless receiver in the BTTV box. You also can't just buy a wireless dongle and attach it to the box. The box just isn't designed to work in that way.
So, you need to use one of the two other possible solutions.
(1)  Use a single long ethernet cable. Yes, it is a lot of hassle trying to arrange it around the room under the carpet or tacked to the skirting boards, but just like a normal TV aerial cable you only have to do it once and in the long run it is by far the best solution. Maybe a relative or friend could help to install it?
If you are really struggling BT do offer a separate BTTV installation service but charge £35 for that. The original engineer should have probably done it for free anyway so it seems a bit unfair for BT to charge you for that now.

(2)  Use powerline adpaters. These make use of the existing home wiring to transmit the signal. However, officially BT don't support their use for the extra live channels as BT can't know the state of your home wiring and what possible issues you might get. Many customers have reported successfully using powerline adapters with the extra live TV channels, but it's really just a case of try it and see if you have them and available power sockets. BT won't provide support if you hit any problems.
So the correct solution is to use the long ethernet cable. You can either use it to connect the white BTOpenReach modem to the BTHomeHub router (this allows you to put the BTHomeHub under the TV), or use it to connect the BTHomeHub to the BTTV box (this allows you to place the BTHomeHub away from the BTTV box).
Note: The newest BTHomeHub 5 is a combined modem and router so no white BTOpenReach modem is required with that.
Do you have a BTHomeHub 5 router or an older BTHomeHub 4 or 3?
Do you have the white BTOpenReach modem box installed (normally near to the master phone socket)?
Do you have a BT Vision+ box or a BT Youview+ box?
