Is anyone else frustrated?

Weeks before Christmas the wifi on my cell phone greyed out, so it's no longer usable can't turn it on or off. I went on my boyfriends iPad to Apple.com and found info saying they were trying to fix it and to try resetting the phone, with clear directions on how to reset. Alas it did nothing, now I can't find any information pertaining to this problem, nothing to indicate they're trying to solve this problem. What's going on Apple? I love these products, literally love them and find them superior to similar android products, but I don't have the money to purchase a new phone.

yikes.  totally forgot i had posted this.  let's just say that someone, uh, was having a ReALLy bad day when he wrote it.  to fast-forward: i made a second appointment, with the full realization that i would need to leave it for a few days.  backed up all the data, made other plans for work flow stuff, etc.  got it back in two days with a new hard drive, everything is working fine.  sorry to have griped out loud in my moment of frustration.  couldn't be happier, really, considering that they didn't have to do that, since (as kappy pointed out) it was already out of warranty for that repair.

  • Anyone else frustrated by Mavericks? Am I missing something here?

    I updated to Mavericks to be able to sync my devices-a nice time saver. So far, other than that, I'm not finding it as easy to use as my old OS. I use the calendar reminders and popups to keep me on task. The feature that allowed me to reset the time of the reminder is no longer part of the pop up and I have to go through the time consuming process of opening the calendar and then resetting the time (takes 3-4 times as long). Also, the other great time saving feature for me was being able to recognize my sidebar items at a quick glance by adding logos. That ability is now gone and all items are the same color. I'm also experiencing a lag now as I move between different programs or if there is a background function or a popup going--Frustrating! My speed is gone--a must to my day. I really love my Mac and have found the platform very intuitive and user friendly to this point, but overall, I'm not finding Mavericks improves my workflow so far. Bummer.

  • Anyone else annoyed by the bug in Repeat...Controls setting?

    I have noticed a bug in iTunes since Version 11.
    It has to do with the Controls...Repeat setting. Back in Version 10 I could independently set each playlist to Repeat or not.
    Now, in Version 11, this Controls...Repeat setting controls ALL playlists globally. So, now there is no possibility of having some playlists automatically repeat and some playlists just stopping at the end.
    This is a bit frustrating and has been broken for a number of revisions of iTunes.
    Is anyone else frustrated by this bug?

    Had same problem on my iPad2 with the original 8.0 release.  I ended up wiping it completely clean and doing a reset and restore from backup.  That seemed to fix my issues.  I had the same problem when 7 came out and did the same wipe and restore to get everything working well.

    I see there are a whole lot of posts about errors... so many I can not even read and digest all of it.

    That's what I would have thought, but even after saving the setting, as soon as I shut down my computer or log out of Mail, it automatically defaults back to 25. It's a bit frustrating.
    Now I just need to figure out how to get rid of those horrible pop-up banners but still have my glass sound and number of emails in the red dot when I get an email...
    These little tweaks are the only thing I HATE about upgrading my OS.

  • My Iphone 6 keeps hanging up during calls.  It happens mostly on speakerphone, but while I am on a call, it just hangs up.  Anyone else have this problem?

  • Mail app crashes in ios8.  Anyone else?

    EEver since I downloaded ios8 on my iPhone 5 and iPad the mail app crashes every other time I open it.   Very frustrating.   Wondering if there has been any discussion of this and when it might be fixed.  Probably shouldn't have made this update yet...

    Same issue with iPhone 5. Mail app loads, it shows a white screen with only the compose button in the bottom right corner, and 10 seconds later the screen goes black and returns to the home screen.
    I've read that doing a reset (holding down the home button while powering off the phone) resolves this and it did once, but that no longer seems to resolve the issue either. This has definitely begun after iOS 8.02.
    I've upgraded to iOS8.1 and the issue still persists.
    Anyone else out there having the same issue? Am hoping Apple fixes this in their next update.

  • Anyone else having mic problems after 5.1?

    I updated to ios 5.1 and now Siri and the voice memo can't hear me unless I hold the phone to my mouth literally shout into the mic.  Anyone else have the same problem?  I think it's just the iOS update.

    I have had problems with my mic, only since updating to 5.1 last week. Intermittently, during a phone call, I can hear the other person saying, "Hello, hello, are you there?" and sometimes after about ten seconds or so they can hear me again. But it goes in and out and is very frustrating. I've never had this problem before and have had iPhones for years. Will have to go to the genius bar I suppose. Hopefully I'm still under warranty.

    You will need to have the serial number to activate the products. Please have then handy & also check the compatibility of the operating systems.

  • Does anyone else have trouble hearing the person you're talking to half way through the call?

    Hello everyone.  For almost 2 years now I have had this ongoing problem.  I have called Verizon several times, stopped by the store several times and no one has been able to help me yet.  I will be on a call and all of a sudden I can't hear the person talking on the other end but they can still hear everything I am saying.  I have tried many times to figure out if there is something in common about the calls but there never is.  I talk to people that are on land lines, cell phones from various wireless providers, I called them, they called me, day, night, different towns, different states - many, many scenarios.  Same thing all the time.  Sometimes it happens when I'm on the phone for one minute, 30 minutes, one hour - sometimes it never happens.  I used to have the Verizon thunderbolt.  I had it for about 10 months before it started happening.  I put up with it until I was at my 2 year mark and upgraded to an IPhone 5.  One hour after walking out of the store with the new phone it happened and has been happening still for the last year.  I'm not lying when I say I have spent HOURS on the phone with Verizon and their technicians.  The customer service reps always promise to call me back and they say "Don't worry I won't drop the ball.  I'll call you when I get in on Saturday" and blah, blah, blah.  My phone is used for work and it's embarrassing when you have to tell the attorney or anyone else for that matter to call me back because you can hear me but I can't hear you.  I am beyond frustrated and am considering breaking my contract.  Wish I could figure out on here how much that would be.  HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE???  PLEASE HELP..

        I'm sorry to learn that you have endured the audio issues outlined in your post for almost 2 years SusanLM1! This is certainly not normal! Let's get to the bottom of this issue, first please confirm your phone model; your mention that you have the iPhone 5 but your post is on the iPhone 5S forum. Also, share the iOS version currently installed on your phone. What is your ZIP code? Does this happen mainly while you make/receive calls from a particular location (home, office, etc)?

  • My cloud won't work. I get error code #10003. Anyone else had this?

    I can't back up anything, my Cloud worked initially to back up everything- except my contacts, they would never back up, now it won't even let me sign in via the computer. It says unknown error and to call customer service when I try to login online. It gives me error code #10003 when i try to login on my phone. The tech support said that error code wasnt in their system! WTH!!! They have opened 3 tickets so far and I still have no resolution, its been 3 weeks. I have spent over 10 hours on the phone with tech support. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, factory reset, changed my password, just about everything I can think of to do. Nothing works. Anyone else had issues like this? Now it also takes hours to send a photo via mms. I am so frustrated. I just got this phone and had issues with it since day one but they kept saying the next software update would take care of the issue, but it seems to have just made more issues. Now they want to give me a used replacement instead of a new phone. I just want what i paid for to work correctly!

    I don't want a used replacement phone when I just bought mine. I have had your "like new" replacements before for my basic phone and had a ton of issues straight out of the box, which is why I don't want one when my phone is so new and I have had issues since day 1! Not once on my several calls to tech support, did anyone tell me to go exchange it the first 2 weeks. That is just one reason they want to send me a replacement. Another is the USB does not work properly, I can't use it to do anything but charge the phone- and my husband has the same phone so I know is not the cord or the computer because his works perfectly. The connection was sporadic so I just installed a new SIM card. So far that has helped with dropping 4g all the time. I have never been able to back up my contacts, spent 2 hours on the phone with tech support the first night I got it just trying to sync the contacts from my old phone. It never worked, I had to hand input the numbers. If Verizon won't do right by be and give me a new phone, I at least would like them to get mine working like it should have when I bought it.

    I have an iPad Air (wifi only) and iPhone 5s. I'm wondering if the following features exist in iOS 8.1.1 and maybe I've missed it?
    #1- Raise to speak for Siri. I know there is "Hey Siri" but in order to use that it requires you to be a wall-hugger. Is that correct? I've read in a discussion board that you can hold down the home button to enable Siri, then bring it up to your ear. That seemed to work somewhat okay for me. I bought my first iPhone for the raise-to-speak feature...bought my 2nd iPhone for that reason. It's a necessary Accessibility feature for me.
    #2- I know the Apple Wireless Keyboard always worked with my iPad Air and my iPhone 5s but wasn't always the same experience as when using a Mac. Meaning, the keyboard shortcuts that enabled me to be productive, weren't always enabled. For example, I can still use in Apple Mail, shift+command+D and that would send an e-mail I've drafted. I wish more of the same keyboard shortcuts I use on my MacBook Pro would be enabled with my iPad Air/iPhone 5s. But after updating, I noticed even more shortcuts were taken away. Things like fn+delete, command+delete or option+delete don't delete an entire word or sentence. I also can't use shortcuts anymore to highlight a sentence from my keyboard. Or at least, in Mail there seems to be some decent functionality. But in Safari when trying to send Apple feedback through these forms...no dice (on a consistent/reliable basis). Why not? Please bring that back. Being disabled is no fun. But these shortcuts helped me. Is it me, or have things gotten worse with this Apple accessory with iOS 8.1.1? Or, has anyone found a solution? Yes, I unpaired and re-paired the device. I also notice that while typing with the Apple Wireless Keyboard, it doesn't spell check as I type. That's no fun.
    #3- Reliable searching in Spotlight. Keyword here is RELIABLE. I've seen a lot of folks on Twitter posting screenshots of searches in Spotlight in iOS 8.1.1 for even Apple apps (like Phone, Contacts, etc.) and nothing comes up for applications. I've had the same issue when it comes to searching for installed apps on my iOS devices. Why? I know the release notes for iOS 8.1.1 mentioned fixes for iPhone 4s and iPad AIr 2. But what about iPhone 5s and iPad Air? Where's the love? I've tried unchecking and rechecking the Spotlight options. That didn't help. Yes, reset all my settings. Didn't help. Right before iOS 8.1.1 was released, I had restored my devices.
    #4- Reliable searching for event in the native Calendar app. Again, keyword here is RELIABLE. So a few times now, I have tried to search for (recent) or future events/appointments in the native Calendar app by tapping the search icon in the app. The result? Nothing was found when searching by that method. However, by going through the Calendar app (day-by-day) I was able to find the appointments/events I needed to. However, this experience was horrible and very tedious. And at first, I just heard about this issue from friends. And family members were asking me for help. Has anyone experienced this issue? Any workarounds?
    #5- Battery drain issues since iOS 8.1.1 on both my iPad Air and iPhone 5s. For example, I was using Comcast/Xfinity's TV GO app to watch a movie I downloaded on my iPhone 5s. The device was in Airplane Mode and Location Services was off. The device ran very hot (even though it is quite cool in my apartment and outside, and it was not being plugged in). It went from a charge of 100% to the caution dialog box to recharge in just over 2 hours of viewing. Brightness setting was its lowest. Now, that experience is quite new to me. My battery was replaced by Apple about 4 months ago. I attempted to replicate the issue the following night with the same settings. It wasn't as bad but still a drain much faster than what I've seen before. Has anyone else experienced this type of drain? On my iPad Air, I've noticed a sharp decline in battery performance since updating to iOS 8.1.1 and I don't know why. And it's intermittent and frustrating. I use only Apple cords and adapters. I follow the instructions about Apple batteries and ways to optimize per the Apple website. Yet, I'm seeing a problem. Anyone else? Anyone have a fix?
    #6- Is there any way to create location-based reminders on my iPad Air (wifi-only configuration)? I tried to make a location-based reminder and the native Reminders app wasn't having any of it. It would not allow me to do that.  Why not? I tether my iPhone to my iPad.
    #7 - Is there any way to use Apple Maps on my iPad Air (wifi-only configuration) when tethering my iPhone 5s? It doesn't do turn-by-turn navigation. Why not? Any workarouds?
    #8- Sooo.....you know on our iPhones it gives us the cellular data breakout? Is there any way to get a breakout of how the iPad Air  is using the Hotspot/cellular data? I ask because I know on Netflix website, there is an option to toggle playback settings. I switched it to "low" since I was going to be traveling. I noticed that when I tethered my iPhone to my MacBook Pro, the playback setting seemed to be at the low setting (based on cellular data usage from my iPhone). But when I tethered my iPhone 5s to my iPad Air, it ate up a whole lot of data. It's as if the Netflix app didn't adhere to change in setting. When I contacted Netflix, they said it was an issue with Apple. When I contacted Apple, they said it was an issue with Netflix. I was hoping to see some kind of cellular data usage report when we tether, so I can better help Apple or Netflix. Or...if you know of a way to get my Netflix to not eat up all my data, that would be great too.
    I know this was a lot. But I appreciate any and all help. I'm interested in any other bugs you're seeing with the latest version of iOS 8.1.1. My apologies in advance if this has multiple spelling mistakes. Spellcheck and grammar check don't seem to want to work in this Safari session.
