Is anyone else's screen literally falling off?

My screen is falling from the top left corner. I think whatever glue that was holding it together has lost it adhesive.

So bring it to an Apple store or AASP and have them fix it.

  • Ideapad U410 screen LITERALLY falling off.

    Hi Everyone:
I flipped open my lid on my laptop today. Then the bottom left corner (where the U410 is printed) popped open. I can look between the screen and the square, seeing screws and strips and things like that.
I managed to press it back in, but now there's a weird clicking sound when I move my screen and it pops back open every once in awhile. Does anyone have an idea how to fix it? I'm hesitant as to take it apart myself (without specific help) as there is a sticker that says DO NOT TOUCH under the "Lenovo".
    Thank you!

  • Is anyone else having the finish rub off of the keys on their macbook? I've had mine for about 6 months and several keys look like the finish is wearing through. I went to the local genius bar today and the techs said they'd never seen this before.

Some people have seen their aluminum uni-body discoloring due to body oils.  Go figure.
Normally putting anything over the keys/aluminum will hurt heat disspation, but you may need to use keyboard covers.
Or save up $500/year for new keyboards.
Neither is supposed to be a sarcastic answer.  Either one could end up being the solution.
    Good luck with it.

  • Plastic Screen Protector Falls off

I have a Late 2009 MB Pro 17 and it has been beautiful. BUT about two months in the plastic screen cover started coming off of the bottom of the screen. No I would think the heat from the fans is warming the glue and it is separating. Now when I have it on for about 20 min and close the lid the entire thing falls off. Anyone else having this problem.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
If you have a late 2009 MBP, then it is under warranty, and you can get this fixed under warranty. Contact Apple about arranging for a repair. This is likely a manufacturing defect of some sort. The plastic should not be coming off.
    Good luck!

  • Has anyone else had screen flickering on iMac 27"?

I bought my 27" iMac only about one week ago, with the i7 processor, 8gb ram and 2gb graphics.
All has been fine, except every now and then the screen will flicker?
It happens every few hours I would say. It's never predictable, just happens and for about 10-20 seconds at a time.
Has anyone else had this issue? I'm waiting for my apple care to register so I can speak to someone about a replacement unit.
But for now I just thought I would ask and see if anyone else has run into this problem?
    Thanks.
    FD

I have this same problem, Just bought a new imac 27".
When i'm scrolling in websites it's flickering. also when i slide to different desktops.
Is here anybody who can help with this??

  • Is anyone else experiencing screen activation issues during calls?

I got my iPhone in the first batch from VF. Since then I have not experienced any of the issues reported as common faults such as the signal loss - however, I have a new one - the screen on the phone activates itself after a length of time (sometimes a while into a call, sometimes after only a couple of minutes) - this means, when I am happily chatting away the screen activates and my face is happily touching all the buttons on the screen - majority of the 'end call' button! At first I thought I was going crazy, maybe it was me holding it funny, but now I know I'm not!
After doing a bit of googling a few o2 users have reported this issue too - does anyone else have this problem?
Its very irritating. For example, last night I was on the phone to my partner, and the call ended twice - the first time I actually managed to type out a very garbled email to someone!!

It's the proximity sensor, and there are hundreds of posts on here about it. It's not affecting every device, so make an appointment with an Apple Genius, pop instore and get it swapped out.

  • My screen is falling off of my ipod 8gb 4th generation

i have only had my ipod for 5month and the glass is falling off the back of ipod

If not abused (e.g., dropped), Apple will replace the iPod at not cost under your warranty. Otherwise you will have to pay $99. $149 or $199 depending upn the capacity for a replacment iPod.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store,.

  • Has anyone else had the screws fall out of the bottom of 2012 2013 Macbook Pro Retina?

Apple tried to repair my Macbook Pro Retina when I first got it. They took the back off, replaced the motherboard (which was not the problem), and returned it to me the next day (via FedEx). When I got the machine back, half of the screws on the back shell were falling out... and one was in crooked. Apple told me to take my machine to the authorized computer repair place to have the screws tightened. The screws were tightened and now, they are falling out again! I've read about needed some sort of locktight product to put the screws back in. I don't understand why an authorized repair place would not do this the first time! Can you tell me what the process should be on replacing the screws in the bottom (shell) of the Macbook Pro Retina? I've heard that the shell should be replaced when the new screws are put in. Is this true? (I have AppleCare and will take my machine in next week for repair.... again!) Thanks!

The first repair (when they thought logic board was bad) was a mail-in to Apple. They are the ones that did not re-apply the screws properly and they were falling out when I took computer out of the cardboard shipping box. Called Apple. They said take it to Computer Guys (only auth Apple repair here). Now, a new Mac store in the mall has opened. I think I will take it there this time since it was not done properly at the Computer Guys last time (however, Apple didn't put them back in properly in the FIRST place! Gee. I have Applecare and will stay with Apple repair only. Thanks! I appreciate everyone's input. It has been really helpful! The only reason I have not taken it to an Apple Store is because it is 3 hours away. I will see what this new Mac store has to offer. Oh... and, Apple Support did absolutely nothing for me! Did not even apologize for not fixing it properly the first time... and costing me time and money (as my computer is part of my job). Thanks again! Did Apple do this on purpose to keep us from repairing our own machines? I've seen so many complaints online and I imagine there will be more to come as the machines age and people try to make repairs themselves. Crazy.

  • Help! My screen is falling off!

Hi. I almost died today when I lifted my lid up and noticed that the screen wasn't attached to the unibody! I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I got my MacBook just over a year ago now and have had the screen replaced (by an Apple Certified place) because of a crack. I'm wondering if this could be the result of a dodgy job? I don't know what to do, and I need my computer for uni. I believe I did buy an extended warrenty for it from the place that I got it from, will this still be covered now that I've had repairs done to it?

If you used an AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) your extended AppleCare warranty (provided you have one) would cover it.  It's an unusual problem, so I would expect the screen repair you had may be the cause.

  • Anyone else having screen/window resolution issues in windows 8.1?

    Hi,
    I have Indesign CC 64-bit, on a Dell XPS18. I upgraded(?) to Windows 8.1.
Since then the Indesign screens show at a lower res than other windows - that's menus and everything, not just the page content.
    Any help appreciated.
    Ed

That led me to the solution - thanks! I followed the Compatability Troubleshooter and checked the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings.
    Much better!
    Thanks again.

  • Anyone else receiving really old email off of a sudden?

    This is beyond strange.
Today, I've been receiving email that was sent to me as long ago as April 25 2012! 15 emails so far were lost in the ethernet of space!
    Anyone know why this happened?

I thought an MSN account is a Hotmail account.
Have you tried deleting and manually recreating your MSN account and your MSN account only?
MSN and Hotmail are two different accounts under MSN as I understand it. Regardless, having both accounts did work fine up until today.
I took your suggesting and also deleted my MSN account ending up with zero mail accounts. I then reinstalled MSN as my only account and now everything seems to work right. I think what got me in this pickle was that Hotmail was my primary account before getting MSN. Together they worked fine. However, when I deleted Hotmail, MSN did NOT slip into being my primary account.
    Anyway, I'm back in business.
    Thanks

  • Is anyone else's screen flickering?

since the update my screen was been dimming in and out.

Me too!!! The screen flickering & brightness of the screen suddenly fade to low intensity. The screen flickering happened everytime I use my MacBook.
May MacBook was the initial Jun 2006 version.
I already get those problems (a) sudden shutdown (replace the logic board), (b) palm rest area discoloration (change the bottom case), (c) power adaptor pin contact problem (replace the new one), (d) poor performance of battery life (awaiting confirmation from local Apple support, 180cycle max. charge only 50% of initial capacity) & (e) screen flicker issue (today just send in my MacBook for them to do diagnostic).
I really lost confident with my MacBook.
Should I request a replacement of entire MacBook?
My warranty period will be expired mid of next month & the are asking me to purchase the apple protection plan. But, I claim that the unit is poor in initial build quality & why I should considered the plan. It is unfair to me.
If the MacBook is in good condition then I will consider the plan for support another 2 years (fair), not in this reverse way.
Anybody please guide me how to pursue this matter.
I previously own an iBook G4 & PowerBook G4 TI don't have these problem at all.

  • Is anyone else experiencing reminders settings turning off on its own?

I was using siri earlier and asked her to remind me when I leave home to call my mom and she says "Before I can do that, you'll need to change your location services settings, In location services settings turn on both 'Location services and reminders" Here's the thing. The settings were already on, but my reminders keeps turning off by itself. I've done this over 5 times to make sure I'm not crazy. Both settings are turned on, I ask siri for the reminder then she gives me the same message stated above then when I go back to the reminders again its turned off. Is there a fix for this?

A HA!!! I figured it out!
Settings > Privacy > Location Services
Make sure Location Services is "On" and Reminders is set to "Always."
Now scroll to the bottom of the page...
Settings > Privacy > Location Services > SYSTEM SERVICES
Make sure LOCATION-BASED ALERTS is turned on.
Not sure why there is "System Settings" that seems to contradict the other settings, but mine worked immediately after I changed it.

  • Has anyone else experienced their macbook powering off by itself after installing lion?

This never happened before the lion install, but now it has happened twice and I can't restart without attempting power on mulitple times.

    Hi tinytunnels,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I know that it can be frustrating when the built in trackpad on your computer is jumpy or erratic. In this situation there are a few different troubleshooting steps that I would recommend. Please read over and use the attached article for troubleshooting.

  • How 7+ Years Late Payments Fall Off Report?

So being a credit forums junky for years now I thought I knew exactly how this would go down but I'm a little confused now, I guess...  I just checked my Transunion report which still shows some old late payments from 2008 and 2009... An example of my "confusion" is  one of my Student Loans...there is payment history on that loan dating back from March 2007 and onwards (opened Feb 2007)...these recorded "OK" payments are well over 7 years old - why havent these payements fallen off as time goes on? (My lates arent quite 7 years old yet on that account yet, but will be soon and I'm sort of not sure how they are going to "fall off" if this account's payments are being reported beyond 7 years?)  A similar sitiation is going on with my Capital One card, which is actually still open. - It had a 30 day late back in September 2008. Will this 30 day late just magically turn in to a "OK" payment in Septemeber when it turns 7 years old, or will that payment literally fall off and dissapear somehow, even though the older-than-7-years payments on that account that are "OK" are not falling off and still showing?

Derogatory payment history (lates) will be excluded as each late passes the 7 year mark. When the last late is excluded, the account will become completely positive and will report for ten years after its closure.  A similar sitiation is going on with my Capital One card, which is actually still open. - It had a 30 day late back in September 2008. It will become excluded and will essentilally become "no data" for that month. Most display formats will show "no data" as "OK" - it just depends on where you are viewing your file.
