Yes, I have noticed the sucking more power issue. We also can't connect to the iTunes store anymore on either ipad we own after the upgrade. All the tips provided in the forums have not worked. I hope Apple peeps are paying attention to this... they are losing money!! I can't buy my stuff on iTunes, so I went to Amazon.com.

I use Adobe Actobat 9 PRO, Version 9.5.2 on a Windows 7 machine and the Jan 8, 2013 update causes the Adobe PDF printer driver to hang during the spooling process. I have restored my computer to a time prior to the update and everything works fine after the restore. I have done this twice with the same result. D800 file compatibility: Has anyone experienced problems with loading D800 files onto the iPad using the camer connector kit? I have tried both RAW and JPEG using SDHC and CF cards and the iPad(3) doesnt recognise any of the files.

Has anyone experienced problems with downloading Nikon D800 files to the iPad3 using the camer connector kit? I have tried .RAW and JPEG (of various sizes) on both SD and CF cards, but the iPad doesn't recognise the files.
I have seen various forums discussing Lightroom and PSE updates that are required to process .NEF files but I can't find anything on the iPad/camera connector issue.
I dont have any problem if I put the SD card straight into the SD slot in my iMac and Aperture will process the files fine, but I would really like to be able to download and view files on the move on the iPad.
Any advice appreciated?
PS - saw something that suggested the iPad had a maximum file size of 16mb for photos, not sure if this is correct, but I have tried smaller JPEG files and they still aren't recognised.

If your camera supports both PTP and Mass Storage Device modes, it may be necessary to use both modes to import all media content.
If some files do not import as expected using one mode, try switching to the other mode and importing again.
Note: Some cameras may refer to PTP as Pictbridge or PTP/Pictbridge.

I had been having a similar problem on Lion with Safari pdf files despite downloading the latest Adobe Reader XI.
I would constantly get the same messages - There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired. And I would get a blank page when I tried to print the pdf if I tried printing from the Safari web page using File - Print from the top toolbar on my laptop.
Then I came across the grey Safari lozenge with action icons.
This allowed me, without downloading the pdf, to print the pdf file direct from the Safari page by using the Print icon on the grey lozenge that appears centrally three quarters down the screen.
Then I discovered that if I save the pdf using the Save icon from this same grey lozenge on the Safari page I can open and print this pdf version from my desktop.
I've tested it with a couple of different pdf files and these methods work using the grey lozenge icons but the same pdfs files don't work using File - Save As on the Tool Bar.

Widgets unfortunately have gone by the wayside since Apple introduced the App Store a couple years ago. No widget has received any official recognition in the Apple listing of Widgets since that time. So it is entirely possible the widget has gotten redirected. There are many other Apps for stocks. I personally like the Nasdaq Quote website since it knows mutual funds and other markets as well.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.
Change the channel on your wireless router (Auto or Channel 6 is best). Instructions at http://macintoshhowto.com/advanced/how-to-get-a-good-range-on-your-wireless-netw ork.html
Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Anyone experiencing problems with USB2.0 accessories failing to be compatible with mini's USB3 connections.

I am being informed by the manufacturer's Customer Support Technician in reference to where their USB2.0 device is being referred to as a possible cause of incompatability with my mini's USB3 connection, and I quote: "They are supposed to be "backwards compatible" but some users devices are working fine with those ports for periods of time (months, weeks, days) and then just mysteriously not working one day, so be cautious of trusting Apple's marketing." and he further suggests using a USB2 hub to be compatible. Because of this incompatability this device ( $200 plus tax,) is being rendered inoperable for the the main facility for which I purchased it.
I'd be pleased to hear reactions from others on the validity of this claim and whether it is or should be incumbent on manufacturers of devices that are produced solely for use with Apple products that they should at least be compatible ( USB3 ) with those products and especially if it is known that the use of USB2 can create problems. Thank you.

I had no sooner posted, and I had second thoughts about third party "routers". I happen to be using the Bell Fibe TV system and their receivers, I have three, operate similar to routers in that they operate in conjunction with each other. If you set up a recording on one that recording will also appear on the other two. And it so happens that the device I am experiencing problems with happens to be attached to one of those receivers and it happens to prevent that receiver from making a recording that is separate from the recordings made by the PVR in that receiver.

Sync problems with 3gs and itunes after update iOS 5.0

I am using a Vista PC with iTunes10.5. After updating my 3gs to iOS 5.0 I am not able to sync the phone. iTunes recognizes my iphone and then stays syncing at the backup stage....I deleted all my apps on the phone and deleted previous backups and tried syncing again, but in vain. I am clueless....

I just plugged it into my netbook and its Restoring it on there so thanks, I know I will lose what I never had backed up but just be happy if it works. Fingers crossed this fixes it.
Edit: It didnt work, come up with iTunes isnt connected to the internet then the restore fails

I created an anchor link on the top of my home page with a text link at the botton called "back to top of page" whenever I click on the text link on my desktop the page move vertically upwards to the top of the page but when I try doing this on either of my laptop the page moves diagonally from right to left up to the top of the page how can I fix this? hi julia, i placed the anchor in various places to see what works. I placed the anchor center top towards the left and right side within the browser. I also tried upper top outside of the browser center, right and left and it still moves diagonally. Here's what I noticed. On my desktop I use a 25" monitor so the anchor works fine the page moves straight up but whenever I view it on both laptops it moves diagonally. I had my sister test the link on her laptop (she lives in Brazil) and she told me that sometimes it would go straight up and another time it moved diagonally. Has anyone else experienced problems using Microsoft Outlook after installing Mavericks? The computer seems to want to continue reloading emails.

When I try to open pdfs downloaded from the internet via Safari to the Mountain Lion desktop I get this message:
"There was an error opening this document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
I have encountered this problem with pdfs downloaded from several sources.
When I open pdfs received in email messages there is no probem.
Can anyone advise please?

Starting with the release of iOS6 I have had a problem with mail making it to my desktop. I never had this problem before. The mail arrives fine on my iPad and iPhone, but it's not in my ourlook inbox. Any ideas? I have the iPhone 4 and the original iPad. I have checked the settings and the "mail" option is set to "on" on both devices.
