Is anyone having an issue with their iPhone 6 getting hot after loading the iOS 8.1.2 update?
I finally loaded the iOS 8.1.2 update to my iPhone 6 yesterday. I've noticed that my battery seems to be draining faster and my phone is getting really hot if I use it for any length of time. Is anyone else having this issue? Is there a fix? Thanks!

I have an iPhone 5. I live in Nebraska where it is cold and dry right now and static electricity is everywhere. I use the the original equipment earpods virtually always for calls. Within the last several weeks I've started to notice if I move around in a vehicle, or move about my office or home while on a call, I will sometimes hear a small hint of static through the headphones and then the phone call cuts off or ends and my music player will start playing a song. COMPLETELY ANNOYING. In doing some testing since the issue started, I have experienced this now without the earphones both using bluetooth devices OR just the phone itself. I hadn't contacted Verizon yet, which is usually my first call since it is a corporate phone, and thought I would try the forum first to see if anyone else is having a similar issue. I just started having this yesterday. It's only happened twice, but it's annoying. My wife texted me that she was coming home last night, and it showed up immediately on my iPod Touch but not my iPhone. I opened my iPhone and it soon updated. Worked fine after that. Then just a moment ago today my wife texted me and the same thing happened. I heard my iMac and iPod Touch receive the message but it didn't display on my phone until I opened the phone and it showed up again a little bit thereafter. I suppose I'll send Apple some feedback on this issue.

Yes, the volume on my iPhone 4s will max out without me touching any button or setting. When opening mail, for instance, the ringer icon will appear and the volume level goes to max volume - and I'm not touching the volume buttons. It seems to happen randomly, at least I can't identify a pattern, but thankfully it doesn't happen all the time, but at least once a day.

Is anyone having Mic issues with iPhone 5? Speakerphone works but not the mic, on phone calls and memos.
Took it to local Genius campus and after taking off the back screen and case, they blew air into the mica and it worked for about 20 mins.
I can't have a ready can of air around every time the mic goes out.
Anyone else had similar issues?I am having a similar problem. I had the iPhone 5 delivered yesterday. On most of the calls I tried, the person on the other end could hear me just fine on speakerphone, but not on the regular mic. It was garbled, or I would cut in and out. I could always hear the other person clearly.
I just got back from a Genius Bar appointment where they gave me an entirely new phone. The issue exists on this one also, though now it seems like the audio is more muffled than garbled or spotty. Again, speakerphone works, and I can hear the other person clearly.
I had originally restored backup from my 3GS, but before I went to the Genius Bar I restored to factory settings just to be sure it wasn't a software issue (it wasn't, apparently). I did not restore from the old phone for this new handset either.

I'm having the same issue as most of you on this forum. my current OS is 4.3.5 and after a factory reset, the camera started working fine, however, once i done the restore the camera reverted back to the same issue - "the shutter on the screen wont open, and the still/video switch just flashes" - what is more strange is, i have the HP home&biz app installed and this has a camera function and the camera seems to work fine with that, therefore suggesting there is nothing wrong with the hardware and this is a software issue. I'm currently awaiting a member of the Apple support team to call me about this, will keep you posted. BTW - someone suggested, going into Location Services and switching off the camera and apparantly, the issue was resolved for them, unfortunatly, this didn't work for me extremly odd issue indeed!

Hello' I am having an issue with my iPhone 5 display. 2 days before i've noticed some horizontal and vertical lines on the display. Minor but noticeable. Specially in dark wallpapers and on full brightness. Is it normal?? Is this a software bug or Hardware problem?? Please Help!!!

Once the phone is up and running you can try and restore your backup again.

Has anyone had WiFi connectivity issues at home with their iPhone 5 after accepting the recent IOS 8.0.2 update?
Yes, despite being it an iPhone5 (8.0.2) attempting to connect to an Airport Express.
In my case the iPhone "connects" to Airport Express 2nd generation, but no Internet packages are available; Airport Utility shows the Airport Express as not connected to the Internet; but the iMac, MBP, Motorola phone, Samsung Smart TV and HP printer connect without any trouble.
The actual issue is the DHCP :
sometimes the iPhone gets none, and
when an address is assigned it just doesn't work,
even renewing the address won't work all the times,
switching off and on the WiFi won't work all the times neither,
going on Airplane mode, then back won't work all the times.
Solutions attempted and failed:
Reseting and reconfiguring Airport Express;
Reseting iPhone;
Switching off and on the iPhone;
Setup the DHCP renewal for every 5 days;
Meditation and stark visualisation;
Other possible patch not yet attempted : setting fixed IP addresses
All suggestions received resemble Windows' "Plug & Pray"
I gave up after reading several notes around the WWW complaining about it.
Last credible suggestion : wait for 8.0.3 or 8.1, whichever fixes the issue first. -

Kelly Speca.It may be worth your while to engage with Apple in a chat online or go to an Apple store. It seems as if you have some hardware issues that need to be sorted out
But here is a test I would do to check the battery drain:
1. Do this at night before going to bed
2. use app switcher and close all apps
3. Go into settings - cellular and turn cellular data off
4. Put phone in airplane mode
5. Charge phone to 100%
6. Then un hook it from the charger and let it sit overnight and see what the battery percentage is, in the morning
This will tell you if the battery itself is not performing up to par...... -
After loading the latest software with an update, iphone 4/ 5.0, I do not have zoom with the camera any longer, can I correct this or is it a software item?

Welcome to Apple Communities. The Zoom feature has changed a little in iOS5. To activate the zoom, "pinch" the screen with two fingers. You will see the screen zoom and will also now see the slider that you use to see when tapping the screen.

My Iphone 5 screen is stuck on the itunes/plug-in after trying to load the ios 8.1.3 update.
Last night I tried to upload the ios 8.1.3 update to my Iphone 5. There has been a black screen with a blue itunes symbol and plug-in picture for 12 hours now. I've repeatedly tried a reset by pressing and holding the home button and sleep button. Screen goes black, apple symbol appears, same itunes/plug-in picture comes up.

I have an AT&T iPhone 5 purchased from an AT&T store - it is a normal phone, no changes, no jailbreaking. I tried using my phone and my girlfriend’s iPhone 5 with the USB auxiliary cable in my 2012 Hyundai Accent. No matter what connector I use (headphone, USB, auxiliary) it doesn't charge or allow me to use the Hyundai’s controls to change music. Music will play through the Bluetooth system, but I cannot control the music unless I physically touch my iPhone. My iPhone 4 has a USB auxiliary cable and works perfectly; it charges and I have full control of my music without having to touch my phone. Nothing works even if I use the adapter that connects the iPhone 4 charger end to the iPhone 5. The picture below shows the iPhone 4 USB cable but it needs to have the (blue) iPhone 5 adapter.
Here’s the best part of this whole situation. I was told by Hyundai Customer Care that there is a specific USB cable available for my iPhone and that I need to contact a dealer. However, two Hyundai dealerships have told me that they do not have a cable, that Apple has not made a cable for the iPhone 5, and that I need to contact Apple directly or order it from an Apple store. It gets better. I contacted an Apple Store and they told me to contact Hyundai. I explained what I wrote above and they put on a call with Apple Customer Care. After 37 minutes on the phone with Apple, they still couldn't give me a satisfactory answer on how to get this cable or if they even had a cable (Case ID 505467409).
So here is the magical question: Is there a working adapter for the iPhone 5 that connect to a 2012 Hyundai Accent? It needs to play music, charge the phone, and work with the car’s controls. Thanks!
-samThe problem is that you're using an uncertified lightning to 30-pin connector (the blue cable). If you purchase the 30-pin to lightning cable (either online, at an Apple store or an authorized dealer) it should work fine.
I have a 2011 Tuscon and tried the lightning to USB cable that came with the phone - no dice. Talked to my local Hyundai dealer and they don't have an eta on the Hyundai lightning cables (I'm sure it's in the works).

I had a problem with Siri this weekend. Asked a question and got it answered, then asked another question and it was just "thinking" and didn't answer. This morning I connected to iTunes and the screen went black except for time, service bar. I had to shut it down and turn it back on. And is it just me, or does the battery run down A LOT faster??
Everyone else seems to be using their iPhone 5 devices trouble free No, but seriously...the issue with the fast draining battery is probably your push notifications or the known problem with excessive data network usage. Make sure you adjust your app settings to reduce push notification usage, and monitor your data usage to see if your phone is secretly downloading tons of data. People are describing gigs worth of data over a few days.
WiFi also drains batteries pretty fast. If you don't need it, turn it off.
Sounds to me like Siri had a freakout that sapped the memory of the phone (some kind of memory leak/bad programming). The restart probably stopped whatever was stuck in a loop.

Hi All, Can anyone help? I've sadly got nowhere with Apple sending just a cut and paste process that I've tried (and which fails to understand the point) I have n itunes account set up in the UK. I've moved myself and my UK bank account address to th
