Is anyone having Web Sharing issues after switching from 10.6 to Mountain Lion?

I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) but I wanted to see if anyone is experiencing any issues with their Web Sharing after making the switch. I use Web Sharing daily to build and test  web sites for my clients and when I made the switch to 10.6 none of my database driven sites worked. Ultimately I had to install a new version of PHP 5 because 10.6 came with and older version.  And I had to reinstall SQL for my databases along with some other related items.  It wasn't a major problem but it took a couple of days to track down the issue.  Anyone seen any weirdness like that with Mountain Lion?

Web sharing is absent in Mountain Lion. Apple removed the feature. There're some unofficial hacks to bring it back, search the forums.

The Health app won't work in iOS 8 after these steps. It will be fixed in our upcoming iOS 8.0.2 software update.
    Last Modified: Sep 25, 2014
There is no IOS 8.0.2 out yet. There is no patch for iPhone5s.
This update is specific for iPhone6/6+ as indicated
Download the file below that corresponds to your device:
    iPhone 6
    iPhone 6 Plus
8.0.2 is out.  But if it's true that 8.0.2 is only for iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus, WHY would it appear on devices that aren't 6 or 6 plus?  I have two 6 phones and the update went fine.  But the update also appeared on our iPad's, which I downloaded and that went fine as well.

  • Some issues after switching from 686 to x86_64

    Hi all,
after switching from i686 to x86_64 using this link I am now facing some minor issues with some packages. I already activated the multilib repository but some problems remain. I checked the binaries in /usr/bin for 32 bit executables as described in the above link and there are 177 "bad" binaries left. I thought all of these were not executable, but surprisingly wine was. Strange!
ffmpeg is another 32 bit executable and not runnable. So I tried to reinstall it, but that failed:
    > pacman -S ffmpeg
warning: ffmpeg-1:2.6.1-1 is up to date -- reinstalling
    resolving dependencies...
    looking for conflicting packages...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
    :: ffmpeg-compat: requires libx264.so=144-32
libx264 is installed and didn't want to be reinstalled either:
    > pacman -S libx264
warning: libx264-2:144.20150223-1 is up to date -- reinstalling

    :: ffmpeg: requires libx264.so=144-32
    :: ffmpeg-compat: requires libx264.so=144-32
Can someone give me a hint, what's the best way to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance, Zmann

I think the first issue you will run in to is that the interface for an old P4 hdd will probably not be the same as a new computer.  Besides that, it will probably be vastly slower than what comes with a new computer.  I think that is not the best idea.
The only wat to really "trasition" between two archtectures that I know of is to copy configuration files over and have pacman dump a list of explicitly installed packages from the main repos.  Then use that information to reinstall all those packages.

  • Do I need to update Bootcamp 3.3 after upgrading from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion?

Do I need to update Bootcamp 3.3 after upgrading directly from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion? If so, what is the recommended version for my machine?
Other pros and cons we should consider? Not sure what is considered best practice.
We have a mid-2011 iMac (12,1) running Win7 64bit. Concerned about firmware updates not being compatible with Bootcamp 3.3. Firmware updates forThunderbolt port were part of post-Mountain Lion updater install. Not sure what other firmware/boot changes might have been applied to support the new recovery partition, for example. Will the 3.3 windows control panel still work safely?
Win7 still boots OK, at least for now. Backup is current.
I'd like to get the entire machine current again. Bootcamp 5.0 didn't want to download (appeared to hang writing to my external drive, which is otherwise fine). Bootcamp 4.1 refused to install on Win7 (claimed it wasn't for my machine, so I aborted. Downloaded from apple support page directly).
I've searched the forums for this specific question - I see plenty of info for upgrading Bootcamp 4 to 5, but nothing for 3 to 5.
    Thanks much in advance,
    -b

    Appreciate the quick response.
There are basically 2 schools of thought here:
    - If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
    - Don't fall off the upgrade cycle (apply patches whether you have an issue or not in order to ward off trouble before it happens).
I don't have a specific issue that I'm chasing on the Win7 side right now. I'm attempting to address having fallen off the upgrade cycle by staying on Snow Leopard too long.
I appreciate that the Win7 side under bootcamp is its own thing (upgrades to Mac OS don't cross over or effect the bootcamp partition) - except where firmware upgrades coming out of Mountain Lion change the hardware interface to Win7. Hence my questions.

  • Iphoto wont start after migration from snow leopard to mountain lion

Hello everyone hope you can help me, I've migrate from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion and my IPhoto (8.1.2) won't start, I cant reinstall from app store because it came with the copy of Snow Leopard already instaled on my Imac...And I cant find the original Disc, so anyone can help ? felling desperate...

You should be able to Software Update and that will bring your iPhoto up to date.
iPhoto was 9.2.3 at 10.6.8, so I don't know why yours was stuck at 8.1.2
However you can stick the #2 10.6 disk into your machine and should be able to run the bundled app installer.
If that doesn't work there is Pacifist from CharlesSoft that you can extract iPhoto and replace your corrupted one, then run Software Update to bring it current.
Once you have replaced iPhoto, rebuild the database

  • Time machine can not access time capsule after upgrade from snow leopard to mountain lion

Two days ago I upgraded my 2009 17" MBP from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. That evening my time capsule/time machine combination worked fine and did an incremental backup of about 12 gigabyte. Yesterday - only one day later - the time machine backup did not work anymore.
It appears that the system can not find the time capsule - even though it shows the remaining free space on the time capsule (so it did find it after all).
The message is always the same:
Time Machine can not complete the backup "Time Capsule"
The image of the backup volume "/Volumes/Data/Pauls MacBookPro.sparsebundle" is not accessable (Error -1).
I also can not delete the backup image on the time capsule since it is read-only. And I do not want to format the time caspsule yet since my wife's MBAir is also using the same time casule.
I tried out all kinds of suggestions (hard and soft resetting both the MBP and the TC, entering the password again, setting the TC up again) all to no avail. No backup is possible anymore.

Sounds like you got this message earlier:
If so, see #C13 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
Offhand, I don't recall anyone not being able to delete one via the Finder (but most were only backing-up one Mac, so just erased the disk).
You may have to wait for that message to appear again (24 hours later), or you might try holding Alt/Option with the TM icon in the menubar, and select Verify Backups if it will let you.

  • Web Sharing issue after restore

After restoring my imac from a time machine backup recently, everything is working great apart from my Web Sharing.
I used to go to http://localhost/~username, that just gives localhost, server not found.
I can still connect to the mysql server at localhost, but any attempt to browse any of my created sites comes up blank and looks to be a possible apache problem as http://localhost is also blank.
In sharing prefs, web sharing is on, I've turned it off and on again. The weird thing is that where it previously would say http://localhost/~username it not says http://codename.lan.
Connecting to this doesn't work surprisingly so I don't know what to say!
Any starting places would be most welcome!

  • Switching From Mavericks Back To Mountain Lion (Without an Optical Drive)

So I normally am not one to post to a group asking for help (blame it on the mid-20's stubbornness), however I seem to have run into an encounter that I cannot exactly find via Google or through clever sleuthing. I have an Early 2008 Macbook Pro which I upgraded to Mavericks back in the early Spring. I currently would like to try to revert back to Mountain Lion or even possibily Lion, however my predicament is that I have unfortunately never ran a Time Machine backup (don't own an external) and my optical drive in the past couple of months has finally kicked the bucket. Since I'm unable to use the install cds to do a clean wipe and fresh install off of those, would anyone have a recommendation of what else I could do? Thank you so much and have a wonderful day.

You can only install Snow Leopard from an installer DVD. You can purchase one from the online Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
Alternatively, you could relate what problems you have with Mavericks. Perhaps we can help with those.

  • Anyone having album art issues after update to iOS 6 ?

Mine's a strange one . It occurs in the player bar at the top , with the scobbler and repeat/shuffle controller . The album art is now missing when I play anything , but only up there . Every album art is where it should be on the main page and you can still "full screen" it , so to speak . It gets stranger still . With home sharing on and the iPad now accessing that library , it operates and displays as it normally would ... just with the songs stored on the iPad does this minor error/glitch happen . Any thoughts on this one ?
I do know this . Thre's no way I'm deleting or replacing all my music on this iPad 2 . It's 64 gig , and most of the space used is music , so it's a massive , tall order to do all that again .

It'll take time , but deleting and then re-sycning every piece of music on the iPad is the only solution . No one at Apple had heard of the issue and thus had no answers , but when adding a new album and replacing some lo-res album art , the issue presented it's own solution .

  • Web-part issue after migrating from 2010 to 2013

    Hello all
Correct me if I am posting this question in the wrong section.
The background is: Migrating and Upgrading SP2010 to SP2013. I did it, and alot of it works, as it should, though I have one issue.
I did deploy all the solutions to both the 14 and 15 hive, and activated all the propper features. Now, I have one web-part which breaks down. It is a Web-part that communicate with a SAP endpoint, to retrive some data and show dem. The Web-part work fine in
    the 2010 environment.
As soon as I enter the site where the Web-part is placed in, I am being redirected to the "Maintanence Web-part, error message". If I delete the Web-part I can access the site with no errors. The code works fine in 2010.
The error I am getting is "value cannot be null".

No, I did not migrate the content from 2010 web-config to the 2013 server. This is something I will take a look at, to see if there are some missing points in the config-file of 2013.
And just to be sure, when we are talking about the config file, it is the one who is associated with the Web-applikation? So, IIS --> WebApp --> Explorer --> and that web.config?

  • Ipod issues after switching from PC to Mac

I finally got my music library and songs moved to the new Intel Mac using the ipod and all is synced up again, however the ipod now moves considerably slower than it used to. Sometimes it takes up to 10 seconds to skip to the next track.
    My questions are:
    1) Would a restore from the new Mac make things run smoother?
    2) If so, before I do, I have more files on the PC I'd like to move over, so I need to complete that first, right?
    3) Some of these files on the PC are very large (1-5GB), is that a problem to move them using the ipod?
    Thanks for the help!

Intel imac, ipod Photo 60GB   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   Windows convert!

    1. Yes.
    2. You can use a product such as MacDrive to read Mac formatted disks on a PC.
    3. The FAT32 disk format used by a Windows iPod cannot accomodate files larger than 4GB regardless of the capacity of the drive; either put it in the Mac format and use MacDrive, or compress larger files before putting them onto the iPod. There is no issue with smaller files.

  • HT1222 After this update, my dropbox is no longer able to connect securely. Anyone having the same issue?

Anyone having the same issue? Can this be fixed? I'm on a 2011 Macbook Air 11" running OS 10.9.2

Here is something to try.  Boot into the Recovery HD by holding
down Command+R when booting.  Select the get help online option.
It initially opens Safari with a local web page, but you can use
the bookmarks on the bookmark bar or even enter a website.
Many extensions may not be available but it could tell you if
it is your Lion install that is a problem or perhaps a hardware
    problem.
If you can browse around in this mode, then it could eliminate
any possible hardware issues.  If you still have problems, then
the issue could possibly be hardware/driver related.
Give it a shot and see what happens.
