My Mac Pro and laptop connect, but cannot print. Shows a "The printer is out of toner error" when all four toner cartridges are OK. Fuser and imaging unit showing end of life warning, but still have 9% and 18% life. Prints fine to our Xerox 6280 and 6360.

unfortunately using LPD instead of IPP (which works on the non-Lion systems) doesn't change anything. I can not get the 6200DP to work from my Lion running system (reports "The printer is out of toner" though it is not).
Any advice on what to do and how to disable the checking for toner ?

Has anyone achieved a native 1920x1080 display using Lion with a Sony SCEI 3D monitor?

I recently purchased a Sony 3D display to use with my PS3 and my Mac mini. The playstation, of course, has no prblem with driving a beautiful 1920x1080 (16:9 format) display to the monitor (as well as a nice 3D display). The 3D monitor indicated it was receiving a 1920x1080P60Hz video format.
However, the Mac, running Lion, does not appear to properly drive the display. The Sony monitor menu indicated it was receiving a 1920x1080P60Hz display but only a subset of those pixels were active and accessible by a mouse pointer. The system preferences indicated the software was driving a 1080P display. There are no settings in the monitor that will affect the active pixel area as it is already set to 'full' which should yeild a 1:1 resolution display. I tried changing the Lion display setting to 1600x900 and the monitor indocated it was receiving that format and as expected, the size of the display in active pixels remained the same. This lead me to believe the Lion display driver was sending a 1920x12080 format signal but for some reason was only displaying in a 1600x900 area. I then reverted back to the '1080P' display setting in system preferences. Using the oversan button I could get all the pixels on the screen to be active but this resulted in a crummy display that interpolated the ~1600x900 up to the full 1920x1080 pixel area. I believe the Lion software is incorrectly indentifying the Sony SCEI display as a 'TV' rather than an actial monitor. My other Sony 1920x1200 (16:10 format) monitor works perfectly and does not have any 'overscan' button - as it shouldn't.
Here is the System Profiler output for the Sony 3D monitor.
I have also connected this monitor to my Mac Pro (Lion) using an NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT and it behaves in the same manner.

I have been narrowing this problem down but unfortonately I have not figured it out yet. I have a Macbook Pro runingLion 10.7.2 and ever since I upgraded to Lion my 120 Hz, 1080P has not worked - it worked before the upgrade. I found a post regarding the Display driver removed <
file://localhost/System/Library/Displays/Overrides/DisplayVendorID-410c/DisplayP roductID-0> and recently replaced it but without success. My issue is that the MacBook recognizes the TV but the TV does not recognize the signal.
I have tried all vidoe modes (formats) without success and will continue to troubleshoot. I will post if I find an answer but I suspect we are missing a driver for 1080P TVs that was deleted by some careless developer at Apple. This obvious error, as it was working in the previous OS, coupled with the issues in iOS 5 is starting to demonstrate that Apple is becomeing less interested in quality when releasing updates. Since I have 6 Macs, 2 iPhones and 7 iPods all for home use, this is a concern as I must now begin to test Apple upgrades like I have to test MS upgrades.
I am very, very close to going back a version to resolve my issue, you may want to do the same if it works for me.

My "Use" menu only contains Apple print drivers. And Canon drivers, from the location I set this machine up. None for my home use....which is a Xerox machine.
Not being on the menu, I don't know how to acquire this generic driver.
Any further helpful hints?

It sounds like the features are working through the USB connection rather than the wireless connection since it is still not seeing the networks.
Everything points to a hardware failure since the steps provided through the private message did not work and the wireless test showed it had failed. Sorry.
You do have some options at this point.
If it is under warranty, either standard or extended, you can contact HP support at 1-800-474-6836 to have it serviced under warranty.
If it is out of warranty, you can still contact HP support to find out all the options and the cost of each option. However, it is my opinion that this money would be better spend being applied towards a new printer.

What operating system are you running? I assume they had you install the latest BIOS. True? If it were mine, I would suggest forcing it to use integrated graphics (in the BIOS) to rule out a problem with the NVidia driver.

I've been looking everywhere for a driver (any driver) that may help me use this Workcentre with our Macs. I know there's none from Xerox for this printer so, any idea, tip or suggestion to make this work? Besides buying a new printer of course...

Looking at the specifications for this printer, it appears that is uses a proprietary driver that was only ever released for Windows.
I also had a look at the Linux Foundation for an open source driver but there does not appear to be one for this model.
If you still have a Windows XP computer, you may be able to use it as a print server and use this instruction to print from the Mac.

A DVD caame with the printer. Why not use it? Lost it, just d/l another copy from Canon. It' free.
But the best is Photoshop Elements.

Unable to print crystal report over web using ActiveX Control

We have a problem with printing crystal report over web using ActiveX Control. When clicking print button, it only shows a blank dialog web crystal viewer page without any error. The page just simply hangs. We installed the PrintControl DLL and enable all the security setting for ActiveX Control for IE. It still does not print. Does anyone know why?
Environment.
Bundle Crystal Report v10
Asp.net 2.0
IE 6.0 or higher.

When Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is enabled, using the ActiveX control to print reports from a Crystal 10 DHTML viewer results in the following error message:
"A communication error occurred, printing will be stopped."
How can this error message be resolved?
Resolution
This is a known issue with Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10 viewers and has been tracked. The Track ID is ADAPT00282199.
This error occurs due to the receiving application performing a case-sensitive check for the HTTPS request header value "ON". When a sender application sends the value as "on" in lower case, the error occurs. The update below changes the receiving application to be case-insensitive.
Hot Fixes or Service Packs address this issue as indicated below. With the updates, this issue is resolved.
Unless indicated otherwise, Weekly Hot Fix updates from our FTP site have only been tested with English versions of products.
For Crystal Reports 10 and Crystal Enterprise 10, the update for this issue is included in the Crystal 10 Viewers Weekly Hot Fix (WHF). This is available in English only at the following location:

Unable to print chinese characters in Smartforms use Zebra printer

My printer is Zebra ZM400 300dpi,I created a new output device 'TestDevice' and use the Lzeb3 Device type.
In my smartofrms i used the Zebra command to rotated text.Now the smartforms counld not print chinese characters but '#' instead.(style font 'ANDALE_S')

Hello Andy,
If you use the device type LZEBU3 with font ANDALE_S, then when you print then the SAP system
send a print control for activating the ANDALE font installed on the printer, and the text should
be outputed over this font.
When you get # during print then this means that the device type or the SAP font don't support
this character(this was the original problem), when you get a "space" then this means that the
font which is used by the printer don't support this character.
I think this can have 2 causes in your case:
1. The SAP system use the print control SF000 when you use ANDALE_S, which contains
the print control ^CI17^F8 in HEX form. This should activate the ANDALE font on your printer.
(You can find this under tr. SE73 -> Printer Fonts -> LZEBU3 -> ANDALE_S)
You should check wheter this is the correct print control. You should find on the printer an option
which list you all installed fonts, and also the print control which can be used for activating it.
Compare this print control from the printer with the above print control from the SAP system.
If you see a differnce then change the print control in the SAP system.(Before you do that please
copy the device type LZEBU3 into customer namespace, don't change the original SAP device type)
2. The font installed on the printer don't support the character which you use. Contact Zebra to confirm this, and ask for a ANDALE font which supports the character.

Can´t Print with my Xerox 3100 MFP till I upgrade to Yosemite

Till I upgrade with Yosemite, on my Mac book or my e-mac it appears no more possible to use my printer Xerox 3100 MFP.
I try the last driver disponible at Xerox for Mountain Lion but ... it stops during printing with a message "filter failed".
It was working with Mavericks.
Anybody have an idea ? A compatible driver ?

Reader prints A5 to Xerox Phaser on Windows 7 32 bit

I have several Windows 7 machines most 64 biut but one is 32 bit (laptop). All have Reader 10.1.2 installed. I am printing to a Xerox Phaser 8560MFP, which uses Postscript. The 64 bit machines print perfectly. I am slecting print to Fit. The 32 bit machine prints A4 pages as A5. Selecting Advanced|Print as image results in black and white image, not colour. Selecting "choose paper source by pdf size" results in thumbnails on both sides of the page. Driver is up to date.

Try using the PCL driver - just as a test - to see if it makes any difference. Set up two seperate printers, one that uses PS and one that uses PCL.

Printing to a Xerox laser printer via OS9 and airport: why no work?

My powerbook runs OSX 10.3.9. I have a Belkin wireless router and use Airport to print to the Xerox without any problems. The Xerox has its own IP address, as required by the Belkin router.
When I boot up Classic, however, Classic can't find the Xerox; it never shows up in the Chooser (Laserwriter 8) unless I a) connect an Ethernet cable from the Powerbook to the Belkin router, and b) reboot Classic. If I do that, the Xerox appears in the chooser and I can print to it from within OS9.
What does it take to configure OS9 to recognize the fact that my Mac's underlying OSX is connected via Airport to my router and printer, so I don't have to constantly switch back and forth from cable to airport whenever I run OS9? The OS9 Apple System Profiler says Open Transport, Appletalk and TCP/IP are installed. Under Network overview it says Ethernet PCI Slot: link-n/a; speed-n/a; duplex-n/a; It also says default Appletalk zone is Not Available and active network port(s) is Ethernet PCI Slot [1]...Not sure what all this signifies. Any ideas?

The Xerox N2125 printer is discontinued by Xerox and no longer supported. My general experience with this printer was that it was a constant source of problems, networkingwise. I always wished I had purchased a HP printer instead. I would never buy another Xerox printer for my Mac.
