Is anyone using the novation impulse keyboard with Logic pro x?

is anyone using the novation impulse keyboard with Logic pro x?
I currently have an M-Audio Axium controller but I cannot map any of the controllers.
I need to buy a 25 key controller anyway so I was hoping to get one that works well with Logic Pro X

I have the Logitech S530 keyboard and mouse. I had no problems with it while I was using it with 2 PowerMac G5 and one Dell XPS, but when I got the MacPro I found that it doesn't work with MacPro and a KVM switch. Logitech says their keyboard and mice are NOT made to work with KVM switches, but I didn't find that until I started using it with the Mac Pro.
The other small con is that the mouse is made for right handed people. On the other hand, I love the looks and feel of the keyboard and all the keys. It also will do the boot up holding down the Option key for choosing your startup drive and holding down the Shift key for Safe Mode, which the Kensington keyboard will not do.

  • Has anyone used the 3M Ergonomic Mouse with Logic?

    I'm particularly interested in whether:
    (a) the *scroll function* works with Logic, and
    (b) does the simple, non-programmable 3-button design hinder the functionality of Logic?

I am a big fan of mice with many options, and while I have never used a blue tooth mouse before, I do have a Logitech MX1000 mouse that I use for my Powerbook, and I love it. I originally used it for my PC, but when I picked up the new laptop, I just setup the PC with the older MX700 which I also love, and used the laser mouse on the laptop. Either way, I am sure anything with more than one button or the really ridiculous Mighty Mouse from APPLE will be better than a trackpad for any serious use.

  • Anyone using the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 with Logic?

I am looking to replace my Tascam US-122 with something of similar size/inputs. I've watched some videos and seen some reviews about the Scarlett 2i2, but I was wondering if anyone has any personal experience using it with Logic. I am wanting to make sure it will run with the 64-bit version of Logic that I am running on Lion. Currently to get my US-122 to work, i have to boot the computer in 32-bit mode or else my computer does not read the interface. I have also heard good things about the inputs in the Scarlett 2i2, and about Focusrite preamps in general, but I have never used them before. At this point, anything will be an upgrade from the Tascam unit that is starting to go faulty on me. This Focusrite unit seems like it could be exactly what I am looking for, I am just looking to see what others have to say about using it with their setups.

    Hi Miss Clandestine,
The Scarlett 2i2 will work just fine with the 64-bit version of Logic in Mac OS X Lion.
Here's a little example of what the preamps sound like: http://youtu.be/5sSBwkzdAU4 (yes, it was actually recorded through a 2i2 )
Let me know if you have any other questions, I'd be glad to help out!

  • Anyone using Antares Auto-Tune 5 with Logic Pro 8 on a Mac Intel?

I just bought the upgrade from Auto-Tune 4 to Auto-Tune 5 since v4 didn't work with the Intel machines, and I'm using a Mac Pro.
After trying to tune one simple part of one song, I'm going nuts. The plug-in is full of bugs, it seems -- mostly in graphical mode. Is anyone else either successfully using this set-up or experiencing major bugs with it?

I'm thinking it's an Intel thing.
When I try to use the various tools in the graphical view, the plug-in will just basically stop responding. I can't close out the plug-in window, and sometimes the "options" window of AT 5 will pop up for no reason and freeze. Its "cancel" and "OK" buttons are non-functioning at that point.
I've hard to force quit Logic a few times now, which pains me to say. Not to mention that it's setting my project back.
Antares doesn't have a forum, and I can't find anything else about this apparent anomaly online anywhere.
Unrelated: I've had problems with Drumagog in LP8 as well. If I try to drag the Drumagog pop-up window around the screen, the only thing that moves is the semi-transparent LP 8 "container". The actual Drumagog window stays put as the LP 8 window that frames the Drumagog window moves about. Very strange.

  • Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit

Can i Use The Apple Wired Keyboard With Camera Connector Kit
    3g 64gb verizon

People report it is still possible to use a wired USB keyboard with the CCK, if you use a powered USB hub to get around the "not enough power" error message.  (I have done this with an older Apple USB keyboard my non-jailbroken iPad1 on iOS 4.3.3.)  Normally, powered USB hubs have a AC power adapter so you lose portability unless you can find a battery powered USB hub.  At this point, the (in)convinience of the USB hub becomes an issue, depending on what you get.
And wired USB keyboard were never supported for the iPad.  So there's no guarantee that it will continue to work with future iPad updates from Apple.  So best to go with a Bluetooth keyboard unless you have a specific USB keyboard that you "must" use.  If you have all the equipment already, I say give it a try.  But I would not recommend trying a USB keyboard if you have to purchase anything.

  • Using Thinkpad Trackpoint USB Keyboard with MacBook Pro, Air, Retina (with pictures)

Using Thinkpad Trackpoint USB Keyboard with MacBook Pro, Air, Retina (with pictures)
The purpose of this discussion thread is to:
    (1) Get community thoughts around using alternative and complimentary mousing approaches with MacBooks
    (2) To share a current and searchable set of resources for those interested in leveraging a best-of-both-worlds approach for using a non-Apple Trackpoint Keyboard with an Apple MacBook.
    (3) To level-set the fact that a Thinkpad Trackpoint USB Keyboard works with MacBooks automatically and instantly out-of-the-box.
Note: I created this discussion because I found that all the other discussion threads related to using a Thinkpad Trackpoint Keyboard with MacBooks were archived and therefore I could not post my thoughts there.
I have been using MacBooks for 3+ years now.  Airs, Pros, Retinas etc.  I LOVE the built-in MacBook Apple Trackpad.  It is wonderful.  Apple has no equal as far as Trackpads go.
In addition, I have been using the Thinkpad Trackpoint USB Keyboard with my MacBooks for ~2 years, and below is why I have found BOTH the Apple Trackpad and Thinkpad Trackpoint to be great.
The Trackpoint and Trackpad both have their sweet spots.  Personally I use the built-in Apple Trackpad on my MacBooks when I'm using my MacBook for less than 1 hour, loosely speaking.  If I am going to be heads-down for more than 1 hr writing, reading, surfing, graphic designing, programming, workshop facilitating, teaching, mindmapping, presenting, demoing, etc. then I pull out my "Lenovo Thinkpad USB Keyboard with Trackpoint (55Y9003) > https://www.google.com/search?&q=lenovo+thinkpad+trackpoint+usb+keyboard
I know many will laugh at me for using a Thinkpad Trackpoint Keyboard with a MacBook...  Keeping an open mind, let's just agree that there is historical precedence for alternative mousing devices.  If I could only choose one, I would use the Apple MacBook built-in Trackpad exclusively, however with alternatives come potential benefits.  Keep in mind that Apple, Microsoft, Logitech and many other companies make millions of dollars each year providing alternative peripheral devices for computers, and mousing is no exception.  Regardless, I just want to share my positive experiences using both. :-)
Why should you care?  For *some* people the following is true and meaningful.  The Trackpoint (the little red eraser head stick thingy) in the midle of the keyboard enables useful and unique dynamics/use-cases, including:
You don't have to take your hand(s) off the keyboard to mouse
You can independantly click without accidentally moving the mouse (Yes I know some people don't have issues with this)
You don't run out of finger-gesture runway when you're moving your mouse across the screen (I know this is a gray area for some people)
For mouse-movement-heavy applications (e.g. Graphics, drawing, etc.) the Trackpoint *is at times* more exacting
Below I share some pictures (which I know *look* ridiculous to some people, but none-the-less help demystify what this looks like.  And, while ridiculous looking, it is actually quite thin and elegant once you get over the initial shock of seeing these two diverse technologies combined in this way.
Rest assured, the keyboard shown below (google "55Y9003") is VERY light, thin and fits in almost any laptop case/backpack easily so it is not a big deal to carry it, if you work on-the-go.  In addition:
It is UNCANNY how well it fits on top of the keyboard space of all MacBooks.
It fits perfectly around the corners of the MacBook Pro/Air/Retina keyboard
Note: I took one of the 5 rubber feet/pads off the bottom of my keyboard, the one in the middle
Lastly, you can actually use the built-in Apple Trackpad at the SAME TIME as the Trackpoint Keyboard.
It is quite a nice best-of-both-worlds approach for people that like the benefits of the "Why should you care?" use cases above.
Please reply and comment with your thoughts and please let's keep it positive, constructive and friendly :-)
    Pictures Below:
My two Retina MBPs, one with and one without the keyboard, so you can easily see the difference.  (As if you wouldn't)
A slightly closer-up shot of just the RMBP with the Trackpoint Keyboard on top
Please reply and comment with your thoughts and please let's keep it positive, constructive and friendly :-)

Newer Bluetooth version of the ThinkPad External Trackpoint Keyboard available...
The new version is smaller, so you can use your MacBook Trackpad at the same time as your Trackpoint keyboard.
    Here is the Lenovo model/Part Number# 0B47190
Here is a picture of what it looks like:
Note: Just like the older larger USB model keyboard, there is a rubbery footpad in the middle of the bottom of the keyboard that I just peeled off.  Otherwise, it makes the "H" key press accidentally under-neath the keyboard.  Once I took that off, it fit perfectly over and around the built-in MacBook keyboard, so I can optionally put it on top of my MacBook for easy typing. :-)

  • Hi I am attempting to use a Zed R-16 with Logic Pro 9,  how can I setup a bounce for output 17-18  this is where the mixer sums (the audio outputs on the zed come through 17-18)

hi I am attempting to use a Zed R-16 with Logic Pro 9,  how can I setup a bounce for output 17-18  this is where the mixer sums (the audio outputs on the zed come through 17-18)
I would like to be able to quickly bounce down my mixes,  through the Zed outputs.

    Pancenter...
Yes... but I have come across some setups that came with a native SL (and even one Lion!) installation.. that somehow had a corrupted or older Prokit installed for some unknown reason... and given it's a quick fix to try.. I thought I'd mention it..
I frankly don't think it is entirely a Prokit issue itself, but it wouldn't do any harm to try and install v7 just in case it is part of the problem...
    +1 on the UAD stuff....
Also, at the time it crashed... according to the logs...the OP was running Ableton Live at the same time, presumably rewired with Logic... so add all that together with UAD plugins... and that's quite a load on the system...
Finally in thread 32 there is a weird exception msg relating to the Trash2 plugin.. that I haven't seen before...
    Thread 32:

That might be nothing... but as i said, I haven't seen that one before and given what else is going on.. it might be involved too... or nothing to do with that at all!

  • Can i use my mini Mbox 2 with logic pro 9 on iMac os x lion?

Can i use my mini Mbox 2 with logic pro 9 on iMac os x lion?

    Hi there,
Did you find out anything more in regard to this?
I have been using Pro Tools 8 with the MBox 2 connected to my iMac operating Leopard. It worked a treat for nearly four years.
However the hardrive has just been replaced on the iMac which now has Snowleopard.  I don't want to have to update to Lion and then fork out £500 for Pro Tools 10.
I would be content to get Logic Pro 9 if I can attach the MBox 2 to it.
    Your advice would be appreciated

  • Is it possible to use the Apple wireless keyboard with the iPhone 6? Will the Magic Mouse work with iMovie on iPhone6 Plus?

iPhone 6 page says that iMovie is a (free) application available for iPhone 6. When I use it on the desktop I need a mouse. Should I expect all controls to be touch-sensitive, or is it possible to use the wireless Magic Mouse? Similarly, if I want to type an email or a long document, is it possible to use the Mac wireless keyboard to enter text? With the iPhone 6 Plus taking over for laptops (phablet), it seems to me that input tools are relevant. Maybe what I'm asking is whether the iPhone6 (OS8) has drivers for these devices. Please advise.

Apps that are designed for iOS devices such as the iOS version of iMovie are intended to be used entirely by touch. It's worth noting that iMovie for iOS is not absolutely identical to iMovie for Mac OS.

  • Anyone use the Panasonic DMC-ZS7 with iPhoto?

I'm thinking of getting the Panasonic DMC-ZS7 camera, which has a built-in GPS. Out of the new compact cameras with built-in GPS, this seems to have the best built-in GPS support. Before I get it, I just want to confirm that the GPS data it writes to the EXIF header can be used by iPhoto correctly. I use iPhoto '09 (8.1.2).
Has anyone used the ZS7 with iPhoto?

I recently turned the GPS function on. I am unsure if GPS is the problem, but the spinning busy next to the "Places" menu item certainly points that direction.
I would actually argue the opposite, that the spinning busy means that iPhoto can read the GPS data correctly. The fact that it is trying to determine places would indicate that it sees GPS data. More likely the spinning busy is due to something after getting the GPS data like trying to look up actual place info online to get names or downloading maps or something of that sort.

  • How do you use the same wireless keyboard with multiple devices?

My apologies in advance if this question has been answered previously.  There was nothing in the owner's manual (for the keyboard) that answered this.  I did do a rough search that did not yield an answer to this:
I have one wireless keyboard I am using with my Macbook Pro.  I understand this keyboard can also be used as an input device for my Apple TV and my iPhone - both of which I currently own.
And although I am able to use the keyboard with those devices, I am forced to "forget this device" after having used it on either the Apple TV or my iPhone so that I can use it on my MacBook Pro.  Is there any combination of keys that one can press on the keyboard that would cycle through my three devices?  As it is right now, if I don't "forget the device" on my secondary units, it somehow defaults to a peripheral OTHER than my MacBook Pro and I'd like for it to always default to my computer.
    Thank you for any information/advice.

  • Can I use the apple wired keyboard with the iPad?

Will connecting an Apple wired keyboard through the USB connector work on a iPad?

Some people have reported success using a wired keyboard with the Camera Connection Kit. Never tried it myself, though.

  • Has anyone used the Seagate wireless plus with an iPad?

I would like to use this wireless external drive to store videos and then stream them to my iPad.  Has anyone used this drive and if so how do you like it?

    Hi everyone,
I am frustruated with the Seagate Wireless Plus. I think most of you just download movies in it and then watch it on your tablet. I thought this can be my external storage for everything including the content of my iPad. Not so easy!!! I can't see anything from the content of my iPad when I connect it wirelessly to Seagate. I wrote to Seagate and apparently there is another thing called WebDav in order to do it. I think Windows are winning here how easy it is to connect devices. Simply, I can see the demo stuff from the Seagate on my iPad but nothing the other way, no pictures, no music, no videos stored on my iPad can be seen from the Seagate. If there is somebody who can explain to me how to do it before I will return the Seagate to the retailer please do it in a way normal people understand. Don't say "I think" as most of people in these forums do, please say only "I know" and lead me step by step what to do. I have the latest iPad mini with iOS7, 32GB WiFi & Cellular with Retina display. I've already updated the Seagate OS to 2.2.0.005 exactly as they advise by installing the 2.1.0.014 prior to that.
Please forgive me for the tone but those 10 hours I spent so far without any results are too valuable to me.
    Thanks in advance. Danny.

  • Anyone using one of the new iMac intels with Logic Pro?

Hey people the title says it all really. Anyone using that particular combination? More specifically the newer Core 2 Duo range.
If so, how is it handling Logic and perhaps your 3rd party plug-ins? I used to have a Dual 1.8 gig G5 (see spec below) and that was pretty powerfull but unfortunately one of the processors died so I had to sell it on. Now I'm thinking of getting an iMac due its size and price.
    Cheers and beers everyone.
    Dual 1.8 G5   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   3 Gig ram,

    yup
this has been asked and answered a lot - but i'll bite:
I've got a imac c2d 2.16 2gb ram and it flies. haven't got close to making it sweat yet.
been running upto 8 audio tracks with between 3-7 plugins a track, 2-3 + space designers, stylus rmx with 4/5 instances and fx and maybe 3-4 soft synths - e.g. 2+ absynths and a couple of logic plugins plus an ultrabeat.
dmitedly i am comparing it to my old powerbook - but really it flies and i'm occasionally aso running imovie in the background and surfing the web if the whim takes me.
I'd recommend at least 2 gb ram - but although i bought mine in feb with the full knowledge that a new imac might be introduced soon, i'd have to say wait....check out macrumors buying guide as it's long overdue for an imac new model.
    hope that helps,
    rounik

  • How to use my TS 12 Ensoniq keyboard with Logic Pro X

I just got Logic Pro X but I have no idea how to use my midi keyboard. I have a midi to usb cable running between my TS-12 Ensoniq keyboard. How do I set up the drivers or really just get it all to work. I'm a noob to the hardware stuff though I'm quiet fimilar with Logic 9. Help would be great asap!

    AidansMarbles wrote:

So I guess it can make the sound of one hand clapping?
    Anyway...
Does the USB-MIDI cable need drivers? What brand is it? There are some cheap ones floating around ebay that don't work properly with all hardware. Assuming you've got a working one that needs no drivers, all you need to do is plug it in, the OS and Logic should detect it automatically. In Audio MIDI Setup (MIDI page) you can check if your Mac indeed recognizes the MIDI interface. It will not show the TS12 itself, just the MIDI interface.
You can find Audio MIDI Setup in Applications>Utilities.
