Is anyone with original happy with 2.0?

I have the original iPhone running 1.1.4. I've been holding off on upgrading to 2.0 because of all the complaints. I love my current phone AND especially the long battery life.
Is anyone happy with the upgrade on the original phone?

I'm very happy--I really love all the new features and am enjoying the new applications I bought. I was /very/ nervous to update because of all the talk here, and put it off until Sunday 07/13, but it went smoothly and apart from a few items to set up, my phone was restored with everything intact.
I had similar success with my husband's iPhone--trouble-free upgrade on that phone, too, and it works fine.
I was experiencing some Mail trouble but fixed it with suggestions I read on the Discussions here. Otherwise, I am not having troubles--my phone pairs and works with my car's Bluetooth system, speed seems the same, etc.
MobileMe is the only thing not pleasing me right now. It is pushing to my iPhone just fine, but I wish it would do more (like support subscribed calendars).
If you decide to upgrade, I hope you love it as much as I do and have a good experience.

Apple later clarified that you can still order Lion by calling the Apple store at 1-800-MY-APPLE and talking to a person. It was pulled from the Apple.com online store and the App Store.

  • Is there anyone out there happy with Media Encoder?

After almost year of working with CS4 under both XP 32 bit and now Windows 7 64 bit, I am delighted with Photoshop and After Effects, tolerant of the defects in Premiere, and absolutely insanely angry about Adobe Media Encoder.  I have spent a great deal of time following other people's posts and recommended "fixes."  None have made the slightest difference in the ponderous performance and frequent crashing, especially when exporting AC3 files through Surcode.
I have tested this setup with no greater happiness on clean installs with NOTHING else on the computer but CS4 with all updates.  These systems have all significantly exceeded Adobe's requirements for the software.
I have used in that time three different motherboards.  I have worked with Premiere for years, literally since version 3.  A have loads of experience optimizing computers for video.  I also have lots of experience with other editing systems, having done in-depth reviews of NLEs for DV Magazine for a number of years.  This is not to say that I have not missed something, but the consistent complaints I see reveal a critical lack of attention to the broken bits of this system.
I see lots of posts on this and other forums about the poor performance of AME.  I see very few where anyone is happy with the software.
My current 2-hour project which loads into Premiere in under a minute can take 20 or 30 minutes to load in AME.  Even when exporting only audio, AME appears to launch PPheadless and render all video frames before getting to the audio, and I have repeated issues with the program locking up when exporting more than 20-25 minutes of audio.
The decision to remove all direct exporting ability from Premiere and use the often broken Dynamic Link to AME was a gross mistake which in my opinion takes Premiere off the table for any professional shop.  I do not do work for hire, but I cannot imagine explaining to a client who is paying by the hour why we have to sit and wait for fifteen or twenty minutes for AME to load the project that was already loaded in PP to just export a brief section.  The architectural decision might be OK if all the bits that were involved were bulletproof and reliable, but the ImportProcessServer.exe and other dynamic link bits are clearly the source of problems for many people.
So here's my question: is there ANY professional end user out there that is happy with the current incarnation of AME and the decision to remove direct export ability from PP?

What format(s) do you work in?  What length of project?  Do you output to AC3?  I have no problems with AME for short projects or to output the same size/format -- for instance, I can usually output full HD for Blu-Ray but experience lots of crashes if scaling down to SD for DVD.  The crashes also occur above certain lengths, usually 20 min +.  With audio, I can output 5.1 uncompressed WAV in the same format (for instance, 16 bit) but if I try to output 24 bit (which AME is supposed to be able to do) I get "Encoding Failed - Unknown error."  In fact the error log is ALL that very helpful message, always when transcoding to another format/bit depth/size.  When outputting 5.1 to AC3, AME freezes up and fails at around 20 minutes.
Our systems are very silimar -- the current system is i7 proc with 6gb ddr3 ram on a gygabite GA-EX58-UD3R.
A have not had any huge issues really with AME for short videos or output to FLV for web.
But the workflow I use is something that CS4 is SUPPOSED to be able to do.  And the very unusual issue is that I have seen posts about the same type of errors (with ImportProcessServer etc) on Macs as well.

  • Shuffle 3g - Anyone who is happy with it?

I have recenlty ordered an iPod shuffle 3rd generation as a gift for a relative.
The thing is on its way, as the birthday party will be in a week or so.
Now before buying this little ipod I forgot to check on here and see if there were any problems with the device...and I'm truly upset abourt this moisture problem.
The person who is going to get my present is not a runner or anything but I'm sure she intends to use it at the gym sometimes and also at the beach or on a bike ride...
I'm really worried about this whole thing and I'm afraid I betetr return it as soon as I get without waiting for any testing time. Eeven people who bought the ipod recenlty experienced that problem..so I guess that in a whole year they still didn't fix the earbuds.
Anyone in here who had succesful experiences?

I bought one early, took it on a trip and temporarily used the iPod headphones since no adapter was available at that time. I ran into the sweat problem in Glendale, AZ, and using plastic wrap and scotch tape from the kitchen of one restaurant covered the controls and stopped the moisture problem.
But that was only temporary anyway, I was waiting to buy this:
    http://scosche.com/products/sfID1/210/sfID2/343/productID/1726
That lets me use my Ultimate Ears and Sennheiser Sport headphones or any others with it and I have not had any problems at the gym. And I do sweat a lot.
Quite happy with the combination, glad not to be using the Apple earbuds.

  • Anyone else not happy with CS3 for Mac?

I converted to a Mac a year or so ago and was amazed how bad
Dreamweaver and Fireworks 8 were compared to the Windows version. I
couldn't find anyone complaining about it the web, so I figured it
was just me. After a month I eBayed the Mac and went back to a PC.
Well, I couldn't do without the Mac again so I bought a 3.0
GHz MacPro with 3GB RAM a few months ago. I eagerly awaited the
release of CS3 thinking "Ahhh, maybe they fixed the stuff I didn't
like. I mean, it was SO bad that SOMEONE had to complain about it."
    Nope.
Trying it out tonight and I've found this...
    Scrollbars in the floating panels
don't work with 4 of the mice I own
I make my own keyboard shortcuts and
save them. When I return to Fireworks, they're intermittently back
    to the "Web Standard"
    Much like the keyboard shortcut
issue, my saved Workspace Layout doesn't load when I start
    Fireworks again
In Preferences, I point to an
additional Photoshop plug-in directory and Patterns directory. I
exit Fireworks and the plug-ins are there... quit and start
    again... gone!
    Property Inspector...
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ, oh it refreshed, good. Yawn.
If anyone feels like duplicating the Keyboard
shortcut/Plug-In/Patterns issue, this is how I do it...
    1. Save yourself a set of Keyboard shortcuts
    2. Save yourself a Workspace, arrange the floaty panels
    around where you want 'em
    3. Go into Prefrences and find an additional Plug-Ins folder
    (ie Applications:Photoshop:etc:etc)
    4. Restart Fireworks
    5. The Plugins are there! Yay
    6. Go back into Preferences and Browse to a different
    Patterns directory.
    7. Restart Fireworks
    8. Whoa, Keyboard shortcuts and Workspace are back to their
defaults, and gone are the Plug-ins AND the Patterns.
Hopefully someone else on a Mac can duplicate that.
I've used and been an advocate of this program since version
3, on Windows. Absolutly love it. Do any other
ex-Windows-now-Mac-users know what I am talking about?
I could list a load of stuff about my old friend Dreamweaver
    but that's a different forum.

    Hi, R e j u v e s i t e
I know exactly what you talking about ...
I've posted a lot of message about it in this forum ...

  • Is anyone as satisfied/happy with the nano as I am?

I ordered my white 4gig nano on Sept. 12, received it on Sept. 15, personalized, with free shipping. Applied invisibleShield 4 days later, and picked up a Case Logic memory card case from Wal-Mart for $4 bucks. I lined the case with the grey cleaning cloth that came with my iMac. I heard the case was a perfect fit, and it is. I have had no problems with my nano. I tried an iPod photo several months ago, but could hear the audio defect that ilounge spoke of. I could also hear the hard drive spin up, something I had never heard from my minis. The audio from Ipod photo when not hearing the defect was great. It just sounded richer/fuller than the minis. My 1st gen. mini sounds really good, my 2nd gen. mini sounds even better, and the nano sounds better than them all, including the iPod photo! I have not had any crashes, no scratches, and no battery life problems. My headphones are Apples in-ear with Sony caps/buds. They fit the Apples perfect, and are very comfortable. For $40, they are very good. The stock Apple caps/buds will not stay in your ears. I've tried Etys. 6i, but for $150 not worth it., weak bass and small cords. I also like the speed of the nano, no lag that you get from hard drive iPods. Just wondering if anyone else is as satisfied with the nano as I am. Thanks, Anthony

some want to use their guns- so-keep the "praises"- to yourself
-have you heard the saying-"So the lark sang the last song"
Sorry... Call me stupid, but does anyone understand this?
I have a Shuffle and a Nano and To be honest, I'm not sure which one I'll keep.
I like the Shuffles simplicity and sound quality (with a pair of $40 Sony In-Ear headphones... Apple 'phones are USELESS IMHO).
I like the Nano's screen, interface and 4gig of space.
THe click wheel volume control is too touch for me. I constantly have to lock the nano's controls before simple slipping it into my shirt pocket, lest my eardrums be blown out .
But even saying that, the nano seems to lack some volume that the shuffle has (I have to play at 70% with sound check OFF, MORE with soundcheck ON). I dont like the Nano's short battery life, Fragility and the sound quality (with the SAME 'phones) doesnt seem quite as good, even fiddling with the EQ. I hear plenty of Low-end distortion.
I still use my iPS at the gym because i dont have a nano case yet... after that, I'll see which one I decide to sell or give to a friend.
Overall I'd say 9.5/10 for the shuffle, 8/10 for the Nano.
    Hope that helps.

  • 1TB External Hard Drive, Who Has One That They're Happy With?

Hi, I'm looking to get a 1tb external hard drive to store video, and was wondering if anyone was super happy with their's? I was looking at the Maxtor One Touch III, Lacie, or WD external hard drives??? Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.
    Dan

I have used the Lacie 1TB drive for backup use only, which it works well for.. However, a few people I have met have mentioned that the pre-RAIDed drives like these always have issues and will cause trouble in the future with heavy use..
So what are you using it for? Backup, or heavy daily read/write work, because apparently this is important for those drives.

  • Is anyone happy with the new iweb 09

Is anyone happy with the new iweb 09? Do you like the new ftp option? Are there any new templates?
Does this software fix any of the previous browser problems, like IE destroying our websites and effects not showing in certain browsers. I hope this is fixed it seemed to be the main thing that makes iweb not the best thing ever..

As always, the problem is not really with iWeb but that stone age contraption that Fred Flintstone used - Internet Explorer.
I keep my file sizes down as much as I can in iWeb, add effects to images and then take a screenshot to replace this as a JPEG etc.
I then optimize and upload the files with WSM which cuts out about 30% of the unneeded stuff.
I don't use iWeb albums pages any more or any of the fancy templates.
I have quit using Quicktime for music in favor of flash.
A backward browser needs to be fed simple information.

  • Was anyone ever happy with this phone at any point?

I am just curious if there is anyone out there who was remotely happy with this phone even for five minutes. Mine randomly restared from day one out of the box. Verizon was no help. (Getting another of the same phone fixes NOTHING.)

I think I liked it the first week.  It took me about 3 weeks to realize I wasn't getting all of my text messages.  That actually caused a fight between my best friend & I.  At first the random re-starts were only occasional but unfortunately, not they happen almost daily.  My biggest pet peeves are the fact that this SMART phone can't do what "dumb" phones can do - make phone calls & send/receive text messages.  You would think the most basic parts of the phone would be good, wouldn't you?  I'm so ready for a new phone but I'm doing a ton of research before I buy a new one.

  • So is there anyone on here who is HAPPY with their ipod classic?

i recently purchased a 160gb ipod classic (the black model) and i'm thinking about returning it based upon the overwhelming negative posts i've read about it on here. i still have not removed the item from its packaging so have not yet experienced either good or bad results. i already own a 30 and 80gb 5th gen which have both proven totally reliable but i'll need to sell them both in order to cover the $350 expense of the classic. with all of the horror stories i've read on here about the classic, i'm thinking of taking it back and just sticking with my trusty ol' 5th gens. any advice?

    Jeff,
I am happy with mine, but
    1) it's my first,
    2) I can afford it, and
    3) I'm basing my opinion on my own experience, rather than that of a discussions board.
I'm a little lost as to how you could buy one if you can't afford it, why you'd get one when you already have two, and how you could buy one without opening it. If I were you, I'd take it back, but then, I may not have bought it in the first place, or at least not until I had sold the others.
    Good luck,
    Tim

  • Is anyone 100% happy with Creative Cloud?

Cost, quality of products, stability, access. Your thoughts?

Well...i speak for myself...i'm not happy with the CC subscription. The main reason to subscribe is that at this moment is the only way to go, so there is no choice. I've experienced a lot of issues with After Effects with a complete rebuilt of my system to make it works. Other people is still waiting for a solution...but no update from Adobe yet.

  • Still on the fence about the Nano?  Are you all happy with yours?

    Hi,
Is there a certain week number I should look for when buying the Nano like week 38 (that was mentioned for the Touch model before). I know some have had problems with a slanted screen as well.
How about the sounds is it pretty good? I saw one in the store yesterday but they didn't have earbuds out for it. I'm still between this and the Classic but obviously want good performance so will sacrifice space for that in the end. Are there still bugs with this one?
    S.

I'm pretty happy with my 3G Nano so far. I got it about a week ago shipped from China (got it engraved from Apple). But my prior iPod was an original 1G 5GB iPod. So it's about 1/6th the size and has over 50% more capacity than what I'm used to. Battery life is a lot longer as well. The things I was looking forward to was the ability to view video and photos on a TV. So I'm most disappointed that Apple has locked the video out functionality. Only one reason makes sense for why they did that, and that is to stick it to their licensees so Apple can charge higher licensing fees for 3rd party iPod video devices. That decision can only frustrate and annoy iPod owners--expecially since even Apple isn't yet selling their own video-enabled cables yet (you can't find them in Apple retail stores and they're backordered for weeks on the Apple store.com).
My screen is mounted straight (In fact I haven't personally seen any crooked ones), and I've started subscribing to video podcasts and have been very impressed with the viewing quality on the 2" display. It's not that much smaller than the Classic, and though I would have loved the larger iPod Touch display, I just couldn't justify double the price.
The included games are okay. I probably wouldn't buy any new ones since the Nano is so small and the touchwheel is so low on the iPod that it cramps my hand to use it for extended time needed for a game, but that's just me.
I've heard the coverflow has issues on the Nano. But so far, I haven't encountered either the problem with coverflow lag or cover jumbling. As far as I can tell, since I've populated all the relevent track tages in iTunes they seem to group as expected for all my music.
Probably the second thing I'd criticize the Nano on would be the storage capacity. I was hoping for 10-16GB when Steve announced them. 8GB is a bit cramped for anyone who seriously wants to utilize it for music, photos and videos in my opinion. But I think I'll give iTunes synchronization a try and see how it goes (I've always managed my prior iPod manually) as far as maintaining a fresh source of podcasts to keep me interested.
Overall. The sound quality seems great. I'm not hyper-sensitive, so I don't hear any extra hiss in the audio at all. Though I've read that there are some audio-dropout problems once you start sync'ing photos onto the Nano (but I haven't gotten around to installing photos yet)
I'm sure there will be more software updates for the Nano in the future, I wish Apple provided some way to customize the view when an audio track is playing. I'd much rather have more song info displayed along with a head-on square view of the cover art, but I'd be surprised if any significant interface changes like that are ever introduced.
I must say, the Nano looked a bit odd when I first saw it online, but in person, it's really the nicest tiny iPod ever in my opinion.

I have a 3 year old MacBook Pro with MAC OSX 10.6.8, iPhoto ’09 version 8.1.2 and have downloaded two software programs: one is Aperture 3.2 and the other is Photoshop Elements 9 (which I got from a friend who didn’t need it).
I am totally happy with the way iPhoto organizes my photos and how I can work with iMovie to create slide shows with music from iTunes, etc.
I have been shooting mostly high resolution jpegs and I continue to learn more and more about photography, post processing etc. I realize that the small adjustments I can make in iPhoto are good, and are adequate most of the time. However, a have started to experiment with shooting RAW images and would like to go the next step, ie. post processing.I am totally technically challenged and need SIMPLE, INTUITIVE programs and am certainly NOT anywhere ready for Photoshop CS whatever!
After having these programs sit on my computer, I decided to try to see if I could figure them out. When I opened Aperture, this is what first comes up.
    “Welcome to Aperture 3.2
Your library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of Aperture. Once upgraded, you will not be able to use this library with previous versions of Aperture.
Upgrading a library from previous versions of Aperture 3 generally takes a few minutes or less, though larger libraries will take longer. After that, Aperture 3.2 will upgrade your library's thumbnails, but you can use the application during that time.
Tip: To open a different library, quit Aperture and hold the Option key down while starting Aperture
    Current Library Location:
    Jadzia (home)   -----Pictures------Aperture Library
                                                      QUIT             UPGRADE”
I have heard horror stories  about moving your entire library to Aperture, ending up with 2 libraries, etc. etc. hence my previous reluctance in attempting Aperture. In addition, many of my photography friends are saying: Go with Lightroom 3.....you’ll love it!
So here is my dilemma.  I don’t want to mess around with my iPhoto library. All I want to be able to do, is to isolate a few photos, export them to Aperture, Elements, and work on them there, then bring them back into iPhoto.
Can I do this? Should I forget about Aperture and Elements and look at purchasing yet another program like Lightroom?

Export those few photos via the File ➙ Export ➙ File Export menu option with Kind = Original to the Desktop.  Then import them into the Aperture library. That would keep one copy in your iPhoto library and another in your Aperture library to edit, etc.
You can use Photoshop Elements 9 from within iPhoto as your editor of choice. However, if you edit a raw file in iPhoto with PSE9 the resulting edited version must be saved outside the iPhoto Library and imported back in as a new file.  For editing jpegs just do a Save (not a Save As) and it all will be kept within iPhoto.
Using Photoshop or Photoshop Elements as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop or Photoshop Elememts as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop.  When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window
that indicates that  PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file.  You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements  the Saving File preferences should be configured as shown:
I also suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.  In PSE’s General preference pane set the Color Picker to Apple as shown:
Note:  to switch between iPhoto and PS or PSE as the editor of choice Control (right)-click on the thumbnail and select either Edit in iPhoto or Edit in External Editor from the contextual menu. If you use iPhoto to edit more than PSE re-select iPhoto in the iPhoto General preference pane. Then iPhoto will be the default editor and you can use the contextual menu to select PSE for your editor when desired.

  • I am happy with the CC format- it works for me

There are a million and one negative threads about the new CC stuff. But I wanted to start a thread with a different tone.
I realize that the majority of those in the forum probably see the CC change as a negative one. And in complete honesty, I understand their reasons, and even AGREE with them. The lack of an exit strategy from the cloud is a problem, though Adobe does say they are working on a solution. The place I work has no plans on upgrading to CC, though it's only maybe 10 users that are affected.
But on a personal level, the CC option is a huge blessing to me. Though I do work in an environment where software is provided for me(we're currently on CS 5.5), with a new baby on the way and daycare costs taking up half my salary, I am ramping up my freelance business again as sometime in the next year, I'll probably become a stay at home dad.
I've never been able to afford the Adobe suites outright. My wife and I do have a certain amount of personal money set aside each month to spend, but it's very difficult to come up with enough to purchase the suites.
So when I saw that I could get everything for $30 a month for the first year(I do have a CS3 or above product registered), I was very happy. As somebody trying to get my freelance business running full speed again, this is a perfect opportunity for me to get into the Adobe software outside of my place of employment. And if things go well, the $50 a month after that won't be a problem. If I'm not making enough to afford $50 a month, then I'm probably not running the best business and probably won't be needing the tools for long.
So this arrangement works perfectly for me. I do web design AND video/motion graphics editing, so having everything at my disposal is ideal.
So in the sea of negativity that exists here in the forums(and not for bad reasons), I just wanted to say that I'm happy with this. Adobe have provided a way for me, who doesn't have a ton of money flowing in, to get into the great tools I already know and love. And in my view, at least temporarily, if I'm finding success, the continued fee is more than justifiable. So I want to say thank you to Adobe for providing this opportunity.
Now, if I can please ask that this thread doesn't turn into yet another one of the already extensive number of threads bashing CC, and hopefully others who are thankful for this plan can chime in. Maybe nobody will, but I'm sure there are others out there. I just don't want this to degenerate into the same thing you can read in every other topic. Yes, I know that when I want to get off "the cloud", there are things to consider. I'm aware, and I accept that. Let's leave it at that.
    Thanks!

Its a fact the CC model will work for some, especially newbies and small businesses.
The risks associated with the CC model have been well documented.
For long term users of CS perpetuals its generally a large hike up in cost compared to the upgrade system.
Then there are the....... Adobe can rot it hell...... group who will never subscribe
To each their own, you do the math to suit your cashflow whatever that is and then make an informed decision
To those on the CC model, I'd like to offer some practical advice.........do not allow automatic updates.........make regular backups............develop an exit strategy of alternatives for when you can no longer afford the subscription costs............never ever assume that the Adobe update is bug free
    Enjoy your cloud

Thank you for that post, and the advice. I just happen to be one of those who it does work for. I've been around long enough to know that CC isn't going to work for everyone(the large publishing/radio/web company I work for isn't upgrading to CC because of the costs involved). But it does for me as I potentially venture out into the full-time freelancing world and away from the more structured big office environment. I can't make decisions based on what is best for anyone else, or what will hurt or help Adobe. Just what affects me, and that's all.

  • Can anyone actually help me with the up-to-date program???

First off, I want to state that I have been an Apple customer for years owning multiple iPhones, MacBooks, and iPads.  Although I've had some minor glitches in the past, they were all fixed with relative ease.  I recently purchased (8/11/12) an iMac as I am going back to school.  This purchase has been plagued with issues from the start.  I ordered it online and picked it up at a local Apple store.  Upon getting my computer home, I realized there wasn't a mouse or keyboard.  I called the store back and explained the problem to them and they asked that I come back to the store with the receipt that was taped to the box to get a new keyboard and mouse.  Upon returning, it turned out that they gave me someone else's computer.  Luckly everything was fixed....but that was the start of the iMac from ****.
So this issue all started because I couldn't get my new iMac to find my documents on iCloud (originally written on my iPad).  So I called Apple Care to figure out what I was doing wrong.  We finally figured out that my iMac wasn't finding my iCloud documents because I needed the Mt. Lion Up-To-Date program.  Soooo they sent me the link to redeem the program for free since my computer is new....did I mention I just bought this iMac???  So I input all the data (name, address, date of purchase, computer serial number) yet I got a message back saying: " This is an already claimed serial number."  So I called Apple Care back since clearly something was wrong.  So hours go by and it is finally determined that someone else used my computer serial number to redeem the copy of the Up-To-Date Program.  Numerous customer service reps (and I've lost count how many people I have talked to in the last 24 hours) have stated that the computer serial number which is registered to me was used by someone else, obviously they couldn't give me that person's name or contact info.  In addition, the customer service people all said this has never happened before and that they didn't know what to do about it.  So I've been forwarded to numerous people to no avail.  The latest contact, which was given to me by a Senior Supervisor in another department because he didn't know how to fix this, makes me want to ram my head through a wall.  I was told to send an email to [email protected] explaining the situation and various details I've gotten so far.  Their email reply made me want to scream when I read it because they clearly didn't read or investigate the issue as they gave me a blank statement: "

As you can see they are asking for a claim reference number.....the **** system will not let me make a claim because someone else already has!!!!!!!!  That's the problem!!!!
I don't know what to do!!!  All I want is for my iMac to work with iCloud!!!! I also don't think I should have to pay for the program because I am entitled to it for free since I just bought the computer.  By far this is one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had (even worse than the **** cable company...and we all know they're idiots)!!!  Does anyone know of anyone I can contact to fix this issue????  Also, I don't see how someone could of used my serial number if they didn't know my address information.  I just heard last night about a possible Apple ID hacking on the news.  I wonder if this could be related, since everyone I've talked to has acknowledged the issue but no one has given me a situation.  Another coincidence (that may or may not be related), the credit card connected to my iTunes account was recently closed by the bank for fraudulent charges.  That card is primarily used for my iTunes account, so I also wonder if that could be related.  In the end, I am disgusted and appalled by the customer service I am receiving.

If it were me I would schedule an appointment at the store where you bought it and meet with the Manager of the store in person. Print this post and bring it with you along with your iMac.
And change the password on your Apple ID and then see if there are in purchases in your account that you did not make. If there are then someone did get your ID and password. If not someone got your Credit Card information from somewhere and used it.
