Is Apple doing anything for iPhone4 users who upgraded to IOS7?
My phone has become very frustrating to use. Can I revert back to an older IOS? I bought my phone outright because I travel and needed an unlocked phone. My phone was perfectly fine before the upgrade. Now every app is sluggish, WIFI doesn't always pick up and alerts don't always work. The keyboard is sluggish as is scrolling. Every iPhone4 user seems to have the same problem. What is Apple doing to help us?
I have read that it has. You can also search the forums here and see what you like. Remember though, that looking here at the forum for good news is like going to the emergency room looking for people that are not sick. The forum exists for those that are having problems, so that is what you see. People do not come here and tell people everything is working fine.
I have 5 iPhones in the family here, a 4, 4s, 5c and 2-5s. All are updated and all are working fine, even the 4. I have everything synced to the computers here, so I set the iPhone 4 up as new and have not had any issues. The ultimate decision is up to you. Depending on the amount of data you would have to resync to the device, a restore as new is not too difficult. The more data, the more time consuming it can be.

Only one of my earbuds on my bose headphones works with my ipad, iphone and macbook- if I hold them there the right earbud will work, but for the life of me, I can't get them to both work. Obtain a primary token for a user who does not have permission to logon locally
I would like to know whether it's possible to obtain a primary token for a user who doesn't have permission to log on locally. If yes, what the recommended way is for doing that.
I called LogonUserW with logon32_logon_network logontype for user which is not allowed to logon locally. It returned impersonation token. I called DuplicateTokenEx to create primary token but it still returned impersonation token.A Network Logon is always going to return an impersonation token. This is by design.
A Batch or Service logon would return a Primary Token. The user would need the corresponding right to return these 2 types of token. Typically, all users are allowed to generate a Network Token (Impersonation Token) but as you have discovered
it has limited usage which is by design.

How can I deploy EFS using Group Policy and Active Directory with a goal to automatically encrypt computers for ALL users who login? (NOT an option for me to use BitLocker)
I was asked to deploy EFS to encrypt the user my documents folder and profile on all of the users laptops. The laptops are in common areas (board meeting rooms, etc) and security of files is a must.
I successfully created a recovery certificate in AD. I created an OU and setup an EFS policy and users can now login and select to encrypt their own files. The issue is that management would like to have automaticy Encrypt ALL users my documents AUTOMATICALLY
when a user login.
Can this be done?

What compelling reasons are there for UK users to upgrade nano - vid ipod?

I just wanted to point out a very fundamental flaw in Apples grand plan at the minute (at least as far as the UK is concerned).
I'm a recent convert...I love Apple....I breathe Apple ...I buy their products everyday but at the minute I see no compelling reason to buy a Video Ipod or buy the iTV.
Theres one simple answer....CONTENT
Tell me what content there is that makes the iTV or the Video Ipod a worthwhile buy for UK users and I'm not counting music video's here as not everyone likes that.
TV Shows - Why doesnt iTunes UK have TV shows yet ????. The BBC loves new digital media and is spending loads of $$$ on it. They're launching simulcast 3G streaming on UK mobile networks (Virgin Mobile) so it seems silly to me that Apple hasn't at least negotiated a contract with them. For UK users, who here would love to be able to pay 99p to put last nights Eastenders episode on their iPod ?. Or what about paying for premium shows like Dr Who or the X-Factor from iTV. The fact that Apple is still to talk to the BBC and ITV and sort out something seems ridiculous to me. Also I'd love to pay for stuff like 24 and Lost and Battlestar Galactica and I'd prefer to not have to mess around buying itunes gift cards from the states. While it's technically feasible it's WAY too much hard work to buy gift cards off ebay or to find someone who will send you itunes US gift vouchers :/. If these shores were available in the UK store chargeable to my own CC's the chances of me getting a video iPod would skyrocket.
Note - the BBC has stuff available online for FREE including shows like Dragons Den !!!!
Films - We HOPE to go international in 2007. There is no cast iron guarentee that the UK itunes store will ever have movies.
So really the question is..
What does Apple have in terms of CONTENT that makes either a Video Ipod or an iTV a wortwhile purchase at this time?
The answer is NOTHING
As much as I love Apple and their products (I have a Macbook and a Nano) I see no compelling reason to buy either of these products at this time.According to press releases, etc., Apple is coming out with a voice recording headset/microphone. Also, I had suspected that using an iPhone headset would also work, so try that if you can pick one up on eBay or if you already have one.
A year ago, I purchased a MicroMemo by Xtreme Mac and used it with a 3rd gen. I bought a 4th-gen. only for music, but I was kinda hoping my $50 external mic would work with it. It does, actually, despite reports to the contrary. It even allows me to insert chapter markers, which will be great for recording interviews.

I have had good experience with the MicroMemo. It allows me to run a line in or use the external mic. This means I can record from another source such as my computer or my telephone. Recording from my cordless phone required the purchase of a $20 accessory from Radio Shack, but since I interview people regularly, it was worth it to me. -

She wishes to reverse-tether, from her PowerBook to her Iphone (because of the cost of using Internet on her phone over there). I found some instructions about Internet Sharing, in System Prefs, etc. "From: Ethernet, To: Airport" Enable Internet Sharing, and all...She did everything, by the book (or so, she thinks) but nothing shows on her Iphone Wi-Fi Settings when she tries to connect... I also read that it could be done with a Bluetooth PAN, but I got lost, as I tried to follow the instructions here at home, after pairing computer and Phone, with a "rude" message appearing on my phone telling me to "forget that device". Can you help?

How to dynamically populate a manager name and level for any user who login
Hi All,
I need some help in doing this in my DB:
Table 1 is the the manager hierarchy {which basically shows the structure of every employee's org).
Table 2 is a list of all people manager ( all these usernames will also be in table 1). What i need to find is using the username from Table 2, the highest level that username exists in the manager hierarchy.
For ex:
Table 1: { What this shows is Sam is CEO and Jeff reports to him. So for Sam, he will exist on all 15 levels and Jeff will have Sam has his top level manager and then Jeff will repeat for all remaining levels till 15.
Manager Level 0 Level 1 Level 2 Level 3...Level15
Sam Sam Sam Sam Sam
Sam Jeff Jeff Jeff Jeff
Now in Table 2:
User Name Manager Level/Name

As you see, for each user name in Table i want to populate their high level from the manager hierarchy {their record in manager hierarchy).
