When is Apple going to fix the iOS6 App Store app? With the iOS5 version, you could easily view apps by release date in order to keep up with the new offerings. I usually bought one or two newly-released apps every week (many of which admittedly got deleted within a few days, but at least I tried them...). Now (with the new version of the App Store) I can't view apps by release date (at least not a list longer than a dozen or so titles in a specific subject area). As a result, I rarely buy new apps any more. It seems to me that it would be in Apple's best interests to fix this problem.

Your right!! I should have given details.
I don't like the new music app for iOS 5.
You need to constantly use iTunes to change play list content etc.
Podcasts won't play in a loop.
Even the iPhone has more control in the music app.
I wish Apple had given more music tools instead of removing them.

When I ring someone from my iPhone 4 they can't hear me sometimes and other times they can hear me fine. This has only started happening since I updated to iOS 6 it was perfect the day before.
Good news! I believe I have fixed my phone!!
A friend of mine was having the same problem that I was having where you could hear other people but they couldn't hear you.
We fixed the problem by redownloading the 4.2.1 update. 4th post down on this page: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1052794&page=5 is a list of links to the update files. I downloaded the one for my phone and did a restore (from a backup) after downloading the file and double clicking it so iTunes opens. Since I've done this my phone has been working perfectly again!
It might take you a few tries, it took my friend 3 tries until his worked right and it worked for me on the first try. I'm guessing something was screwing up during the download. -
When listening to songs on my itunes acct (without ipod attached), I can only play one song at a time. It doesn't automatically play next song on list. It happens with all playlists. It only started happening when I downloaded the latest itunes update.

When is Apple going to fix the problem with slow Time Machine backups with Mavericks?
I have been with Apple tech support and they got my Time Machine working by doing a spotlight re-indexing and a safe boot. This worked for about three days and I am back to very slow backups. It is impossible for Time Machine to back up every hour when it takes six hours to do the back up. I don't want to take hours to re-index with spotlight all the time. I think taking six hours to do an incremental backup is a bit much. I see that there are many people that have this trouble and it all started with an upgrade to Mavericks. The question is when is Apple going to fix this problem of slow backups with Time Machine for Mavericks. I have wasted more time than I care to. I am think of going back to Windows. I need good solid backups of my machine and Apple has taken it away with the new Mavericks. Oh, I am using the UBS 3.0 connection so the drive should not be the problem. Also this has occurred in about the last five months, so I am not sure this problem was in the original Marvericks.
Allen Thanks for your reply. All I can say is several months ago Time Machine quit working in a reasonable manner. Right now I have a Time Machine backup that has been running all night and still has three hours to go to backup 6 GB of data. I am using a OWC 1.5 TB drive connected directly to my MacBook with a USB 3.0 connection. In the resent past I have added Dropbox, GoogleDrive and a MAMP server on which I am using a program called Learning With Text from Sourceforge. There have been a lot of questions on the forum about people having very slow Time Machine back ups, so it appears to be a general problem. I should also state I am getting this very slow backup after doing the Spotlight re-indexing and the Safe Restart procedure that was told to me by apple support. I have a 750 GB drive in my MacBook Pro which I am constantly trying to keep at a 5% level of free space. This might be a problem also. However, I am working on a lot of things and like to have a lot of things on my drive. Also the heavily loaded drive has not be a problem in the past. This slow backup business started about three months ago, so something has happen in a very short time period. Now it seems even the procedure that Apple support gave me is not working. Currently I am in China and it is difficult to interact with Apple support to solve this problem, but because I am in China having my computer backed up is critical. I have run the EtreCheck and am attaching the results below. I would appreciate any suggestions. If necessary I will clear out more of my hard drive if that appears to be a solution. The Time Machine drive was recently reformed so I only have a few backups on it. I also don't run the Time Machine all the time as I don't want multi-hour backups running all the time. I run it every few days.

Apple,
This is a nightmare.
I wish I never did the upgrade.
It's horrible that Apple released an OSX update that doesn't work with some of the most used Apple applications.
I don't know what I should do.
Compressor doesn't work, export using Quicktime is having problems...and that's just what I've found so far.

HingefactorDid you heed ANY of the warnings that were posted here, on LAFCPUG.org, or the CreativeCow.net? We gave many pointers on what to do before you upgrade, so that if you do run into issues with the new (and you WILL run into issues with the new OS) you could always go back to the stable version.

Apple will fix it when they fix it...that's all we can say. Keep sending in your issues and when they can, they will issue updates.
The rule of thumb is that if you have a good working edit system, don't mess with it. The machine that I use to earn a living, that is still on 10.4.9 and FCP 5.1.4. My laptop, that I use occasionally for editing, but mainly for e-mail, word processing, web surfing, that I updated. And I am testing FCP on this. So far, I am not suffering any issues.
If you backed up your system, you could have gone back to it.

I have just upgraded to ois6 on my IPAD. The maps on the major European cites have no street names and makes the whope app unusable.

Look on eBay for Ram, or Google reputed dealers. I used genetic RAM and updated to 8GB. MacBook Pros (5) all flying along without a glitch. Are you running any third party programs such as MacKeeper, Anti-Virus Software, Little Snitch, etc? What Login Items do you have selected in your User Account? There is generally a good reason why someone's Mac runs slow under Lion or Mountain Lion compared to the millions who don't have an issue. Ram increase would certainly be a start, but Apple RAM is quite expensive to, say, Kensington for example.

I've read some threads on how to stop the screen saver from changing back from settings that the user applies and none of them seem to work. So, When is Apple going to fix this problem?
These are mostly user to user discussions, so we don't know.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

Magic Trackpad issue with Windows 7 Boot Camp
Hi, I just cannot get the the magic trackpad to work with bootcamp in indows 7.
1) is it compatible?
2) I have already updated bootcamp to the latest version, installed driver software. It detected the trackpad once and worked but than on reboot just does not work, and also now cannot detect it. Works fine in Mac OSX. Any help is appreciated.I came across this problem today after buying a Magic Trackpad to replace my dying macbook laptop pad - all of the symptoms above. First I added a USB mac mouse, which at least gave me some control! Then I got a lucky break when the laptop discovered the Trackpad (it did it 1/4 times roughly), I quickly double clicked the icon for the 'wireless mouse' it thought the device was. This kicked off Windows 7 retrieving a driver from the web for the actual device (Magic Trackpad), just the same as the process for adding a Mac USB mouse to the Windows environment. I now have it working fine - although it seems I still have the same problem that inspired me to buy the new pad (left click in Minecraft just keeps going on its own, sometimes stoppable with a second click but destructive in the meantime ;-). May be a Minecraft problem, everything else works fine. Now I have a mouse, a half working pad on the laptop, and a working Magic Trackpad. Recipe for some hardware confusion.
