  • Is Apple video adapter compatible with my 12 inch ibook G4?

    HI.
Sorry if i'm repeating an old topic, but I can't seem to find this specific question in any of them. i was reading on the apple website that the video adapter M9109G/A (Model no) Is only compatible with ibook's without the external reset button? What exactly do they mean by external reset button? Mine has a reset/startup button on the right, just above the keyboard. Is that what they are referring to?
Anyway, I'm sure someone here can help me out.
    Thanks
    Steve

You are talking about the power button on your iBook G4. You can see a couple examples of reset buttons in KB 14449, Resetting PowerBook and iBook Power Management Unit (PMU).
The M9109G/A is the correct cable for your iBook.

  • Is Apple's Color Compatible With My Computer?

I have a G5 . . . however, it's an older Dual 2G G5 with PCI-33 slots . . . These slots will not allow me to work w/HD material because they're not compatible w/any HD cards, etc . . . I have FCS, but am thinking about upping to FCS2 - particularly to use Color. Would I be able to use Color on this computer then?
    Also:
I have a Sony DVMC-DA2 analogue to digital media converter that I use to view FCP footage (DV) externally on a monitor. I believe I recall hearing or reading somewhere that Color may not be compatible with this device and I would not be able to view my footage externally using Color and my media converter.
Is any (or all) of this correct?
One last thing: If I CAN'T use this particular G5 set up as it is with Color, would the purchase of a Matrox MXO that takes the video and audio information directly from the computers DVI slots for the purposes of transmitting "accurate color" to a 23" Apple Cinema Display, somehow, circumvent whatever PCI33G5-to-FCS2's-Color incompatibility issues there might be?
Thank you all in advance for helping out and answering these, possibly confusing, questions. I'm just trying to figure out the best setup that I can get to configure my computer to color correct my present project (a DV feature) as well as future film and HD projects.
    Thanks again,
    Javier Calderon

Just did a search and found info that . . . well . . . although helpful, wasn't too promising for my particular "iron".

"Well, you can waste a lot of time and money trying to get your old iron up to speed but the sad fact is, even though it may work with Color, it will most likely end in a less than satisfactory experience all around. You need to determine if your G5 has PCI, PCI-x or PCIe slots and then purchase the appropriate cards.
However, Final Cut Studio 2 is optimized for the Intel processors. You will see users here and there using the newest models G5 with great success but quite honestly, you need a Mac Pro."
Although not specifically stated, the verdic doesn't look good at all for my "paltry" PCI33s . . .

  • Is Version 6 compatible with Norton Security Suite from Comcast?

I have had previous compatibility problems using the Norton Security Suite from Comcast after installing a new version of Firefox. Are there any known issues with Version 6? I'd like to know before I install the new version. I have a PC running XT.

Only if the Comcast "deal" with Norton is directing you to the download or updating you to the newest Norton version. The Norton toolbar that gets installed into Firefox was made compatible with Firefox 6 on the day that Firefox 6 was released.
According to this post on the Comcast forum

  • UC540 Not compatible with Gmail Security Protocols

I just got off the phone with support and was informed that GMAIL recently heightened its security for SMTP forwarding.  At this time, the UC540 does not meet Gmail's requirements of SSL ot TLS encryption and SMTP4 authentication.  So, none of our corporate Gmail account customers can use this feature.
Do we know when or if Cisco will provide compatibility with these security protocols?
    TIA

    a)  Year old or not, it still returns on searches.   When I ran into the problem this is what I got.   I didn't see any other updated information that CUE and resolved the issue.    So I resolved the issue on my own and this is how I did it.    Old or not, it worked.
    b)  I am glad to hear that that Cisco fixed this issue.   But, using CCA, I could not get to work.   I used this trick to resolve the issue.
Now the web will have the information that the issue is resolved.   Thanks for the feedback.   Can you state which version of firmware and which version of CCA supports the configuration.

  • Cooling Pads - Compatible with MSI Gaming Notebooks

    Hi,
I purchased a MSI GT70 Dominator.  I also purchased a cooling pad as gaming tends to warm systems up and thus increase the likelihood of system problems.
I was excited as both arrived within a couple days of each other.  I sat the notebook on the cooling pad and was saddened to see that it skated around on top if it, no grip at all.
On the underside of the Dominator there are additional support feet and ridges at the back of the system around the fan vent on the bottom.  Those interfere with the four rubber feet's ability to grip the surface of the cooling pad.
My question is whether anyone has been successful in locating a compatible cooling pad for use with the GT70 Dominator, or any other similar MSI systems.
    Thanks!

I hand built my own cooling pad/dock for my GT70. Works great, even in the most demanding games with everything turned up (and seriously overclocked) I barely ever get to 70C, and usually top out at 65C.

  • Acrobat 11.0.09 With IE11 - Not Compatible With Enhanced Security

We've packaged Acrobat 11.0.09 for deployment with the Customization Wizard and the install goes fine.  We are having issues when try to view linked PDF files in Internet Explorer 11 (Enhanced Security is on) on Win7 64-bit PCs.  We are receiving prompts asking us to allow opening of these files.  I was under the impression that starting with Acrobat 11.0.07 IE11 Enhanced Security was fully supported?  One thing I did notice is while viewing the IE11 add-ons, the "Adobe PDF Reader" add-on shows as 32-bit, any way to load the 64-bit version of this?  Thank you.

I believe the EPM compatibility was for Adobe Reader XI and not for Acrobat XI just yet.

  • Apple programs not compatible with iPad

    Hi
I have a iPad and use Apple's remote with it to control my iTunes music.
I have to extend the (iPhone)Remote software to 2x. Why isn't Apple support his own software to use with the iPad?
Why isn't there a iPad version (hiRes) to use on the iPad?
This is just an examble .. there are other Apple iPhone programs that are not available in a iPad version.

William ~ Probably nobody here knows the answer — we're all just users like yourself. To send feedback to Apple, use this form:

It will depend on which specific application you are looking to utilize.  I would recommend inquiring in those specific applications product forum.

  • Is the apple watch compatible with iPod touch

I Know the apple watch is compatible with iPhone but what about iPod touch? Would it work with Bluetooth?

I do know that it will work with the iPhone 5 and later, and I doubt that Apple wouldn't make the Apple Watch compatible with the iPod Touch. The fact that the Apple Watch will be able to make calls concerns me. You can not make calls on the iPod Touch with any built-in app, so that might make the iPod Touch excluded from being compatible with the Apple Watch. I am almost one hundred percent sure that IF the Apple Watch is compatible with the iPod Touch it will only be compatible with the 5th generation.

  • TS1741 where can i go to see if my tv is compatible with Apple TV

I cannot seem to find out if my apple tv is compatible with my TV. I have a 42 Flat screen with HDMI compatibility. its a Sanyo. Can n e one help?

If it has HDMI with HDCP and supports 720p or 1080p (AppleTV3) you should be fine.
There are occasional incompatibilities but these are uncommon.

  • Firefox 5 is apparently incompatible with F-Secure anti-virus; F-Secure repeatedly pops up "Changed Application" messages; How do I restore my previous version of Firefox?

I just installed Firefox 5. Unfortunately, F-Secure's "Application Control" now repeatedly pops up "Changed Application" messages in an endless string. It will not accept my attempts to "Allow" the new version of Firefox. Since Firefox 5 is not compatible with F-Secure, I must return to my previous version of Firefox. I am very disappointed that you have put me to all this trouble. How do I delete Firefox 5 and return to the previous version of Firefox?

"F-Secure repeatedly pops up Changed Application"
So how is this Firefox's fault? Shouldn't you write to F-Secure so they fix that?

  • Connection kit compatible with ios7??

Can anyone confirm  whether the connection kit (http://store.apple.com/be-fr/product/MC531ZM/A/kit-de-connexion-dappareil-photo- ipad-apple) is still compatible with the new ios 7 on ipads? Thank you

I had the same issue, but today while calling apple on the issue (after a genius bar visit) I figured out a work around (on the latest 7.1.2 IOS), using the 30 pin connector kit.  I think the lightning usb camera kit will work the same way, but I cannot verify that as I don't own a lighting iPad.
    1. Unlock both devices.
    2. Go into the photos app on the iPad.
    3. Plug the phone into the lighting/30 pin cable, then plug the cable into the 30 pin camera connection kit USB dongle.
    4. Plug the dongle into the iPad's 30 pin port.
    5. Wait a minute, when you get the trust this computer message, choose trust.
    6. The import icon on the iPad will disappear after 5 to 10 seconds.  After it disappears, it will reappear, along with the Trust this computer message on the iPhone. DO NOT press the trust/don't trust on the iPhone.  Simply put the phone aside.
    7. Press the import icon on the iPad.  You will now see the pictures and can select them to import/delete as needed.
I let the apple senior advisor on the phone know about this, he said he would try it himself tonight.  (I discovered it while waiting on hold for this issue.)
Also, I believe if you allow the devices to sleep, you have to start the process over again.
FYI, the apple advisor said the support webpage HT4101 was poorly worded, and apple does not officially allow you to transfer from iPhone to iPad using the camera connection kit, and sent a ticket to get the article corrected/clarified.
I hope these instructions helps someone else.
