IS APPLE LISTENING??

There have been many posts lately concerning various problems with QT 7.2 with no real answers to any of them (mine included). Is there any way to bring this matter to the attention of Apple?

I'm having all kinds of problems since loading Lion and I really wish I hadn't bought it yet. Even after the software update today, 1. my modem still won't work, 2. Photoshop Elements produces muddy photo prints, 3. View preferences in windows don't hold,  etc.  Anybody at Apple listening?  Anybody else out there having these kinds of problems?

10.7 was horrible unstable so I waited until 10.7.1 and tried it again. Well I have to say that it is still a defective OS. I am reverting to Snow as we speak from my carbon clone copy.. This is really the worst OSX I have ever used. It gives me random Kernel panics for no reasons, unstable airport and hundreds of small issues that are just not necessary. For instance I can't use QuickTime in Lion to trim a videoclip ( the UI goes mad and the trimslider becomes inoperable and hangs the Player window ) while in Snow it is no problem. Itunes gives me crackling sound when the equalizer is turned on, Graphical glitches in Photoshop, games crashing, Preview.app not working with some pdfs, so I need Adobes reader which I never used before.. It is definately not ripe for mass usage. Might 10.7.2 or 10.7.3 fix it, but not yet.
    * and just for the records : the hardware is absoltely ok. Because in Snow it works as it should. ( So many Lion fanbois are talking : "your Ram is defect", defintely NOT. - Lion is defect! ).
    Shame on you Apple.

  • Will Apple Listen?

When will Apple listen to our software problems and help?
I love my new 5th Gen black 60GB, and I have owned many other iPods right from the 1st Gen, but there has been a lot of hassle with the new cool feature of Videos. So many people are having trouble with conversions. iTunes needs to be able to have an import feature to convert these vidoes automatically, like into AAC with audio. I know there a free and costing apps out there like Videora and Quicktime Pro. But seriously, the iPod plays them so why not the software support? Also my remote. How crazy is it to have a remote for the iPod where the menu button only works with an Apple computer and not my Ipod? And where is my AC charger or Firewire cable for my car charger? What does everyone think?

I totally agree. Apple should put the same option for videos as they have with sound files in iTunes so that you can convert videos directly in i-Tunes to a format that will play on the iPod as this seems to be the biggest issue in the forum. For me Videora has worked just fine, but still it would be beneficial to do it in iTunes.

  • Is Apple listening regarding the "Buy All" option?

I wish someone could post one good reason for the "Buy All" button to have been eliminated from My Wish List in iTunes 11.

Is Apple listening regarding the "Buy All" option?
    Only if you told them.

I wish someone could post one good reason for the "Buy All" button to have been eliminated from My Wish List in iTunes 11
Because Apple did not want it there.

  • Birthdays in iCal, Address Book, iPhone.  Why isn't Apple listening?

I have seen this complaint over and over again. I have sent countless feedback emails. Why is it that Apple just doesn't care about these VERY BASIC things? Their attention to detail is amazing, yet they choose to ignore things that scream incompetence....
Why is it that I can sync birthdays from my Address Book in to iCal. (Awesome feature by the way) Yet I cannot set a reminder of any kind. Does Apple just think this isn't important to people? Do they just not care? I run into these types of problems with almost every application they have. There will be those one or two little things in each that begs the questions: What are they thinking? How could they have missed this? Why aren't they listening to people? Another upgrade I paid for, and it's still not fixed?
Are any of you feeling this frustration?

That's great, thanks! Worked like a charm, and all my birthdays now have a reminder. Even tells me their age...
Frustrates me that I have to pay $6, when it should already have this functionality. However, it's otherwise a useless feature, unless I am reminded of the birthdays, so I'll pay the $6. It's more important to me to know when these birthdays occur.

  • Apple Listen Up

What about a program that.... well I better not say too much here I dont want anyone to steal it. I need a good ear inside apple. Apple if you are listening please get back to me. I have the next new program that will set the world on fire!

After reading Apple's policy on unsolicited ideas, why not take time to correct the operating system that appears in the info underneath your posts. iOS does not run on Macs — only on iPods, iPads and iPhones. Enter the version of Mac OS X you are running.

  • IS ANYBODY FROM APPLE LISTENING

What kind of people put out a product and then don't support it. I guess all they want is the money up front when you buy something from them, with no support. I-Pod suffle was working good until down loading the update. Seem to me a software update??? or put out the original software. Thanks for the great support. This was the first Apple product that I have purchased and the last. I have read every post that applys. Seems to me this Company could care less. Gave to one of my kids as a gift last Dec. A big waste of $100.00. If anybody from APPLE is reading this I would like a refund.

Well -at least now I know that Apple does monitor these posts... In a fit of frustration my post from yesterday morning complained about the lack of resolution. I also asked for submissions from all who would listen, what they suggest I do with a completely useless iPod Shuffle. My first option was using the gutted shell for a doorbell. Needless to say, it has been removed. As this one likely will be!
Thanks so much for monitoring theses discussion boards Apple!

  • Apple listen to the features WE want in 1.1.2!

    Hey,
Got my Ipod touch 16gb week 38.
Really love it but also had a 5th gen ipod video that seemingly has more handy features (like search function) I want to create a list of all the things that ipod touch is missing, not things like built in emulators, etc but features that should be in ipod touch as standard as i dont think its 100% right now. please feel free to comment and update any features i may have missed out you want to see on your new ipod touch.
    List
    * Search function for music
    * Rewind & Fast Forward button for 'precise' time seeking
    * a fix for the random touchscreen lockup problem (maybe add if you press home and sleep button together it will unlock the screen)
    * Integrate a video convertor in Itunes 7 for non copyrighted DVDs
theres more im sure, heres the start but the top 3 should be compulsory fixes.

If you want to leave suggestions or feedback for the ipod touch, this link might help.

  • Just another 10.4.9 Logic Bug...Is Apple listening?

Now when you record an audio track and hit stop, the fade indicator in the left hand pane which is normally a 0 becomes an asterisk as if you have multiple audio files with multiple fades. This is the norm when you do have multiple audio files with multiple fades but not when you only have one audio file with NO fades. Way to go Apple, batting a thousand!

omg, I lost exactly that very same nanosecond of sleep over it too! and I demand that nanosecond back, now! how dare they call this thing a pro app? if I add up all the picoseconds of sleep I've lost over these frankly unsurmountable bugs, I'd be entitled to a whole trillionth of my usual daily rate.
but seriously. I hope people are learning a lesson here. every time a system update comes around, it's inevitably followed by an onslaught of posts in the following format:
I was in the middle of project x which has a deadline in y number of days and now I did the update and I'm ruined. good one apple.
well. the simplest of rules to follow is that if you have a project 'x' with a deadline 'y', then system updates can and should wait until after 'y'. at the end of the day, we are the professionals responsible for getting the work done, nobody else. if the machine is working, then don't mess with it till you have the time to backup (or even better, clone) your system and then carefully dedicate some time to doing an update. and even then, you should only do it after you've waited for the dust to settle, to make sure that there aren't any reports of big problems with the update, and after you've done the rounds of all your 3rd party plug in websites to make sure they haven't got big flashing warning signs all over their site screaming 'our plug ins aren't ready for system x.y.z yet!'.. or at the very least, they may have updates for you to get first.
in the case of this OS update, it really does look like the only legit problem being reported so far is the new AU val causing some plug ins to fail validation. the cause seems to be only that developers knew this new AU val version was coming, but weren't expecting it till 10.5 leopard. so it's not a bug, nor a faulty update nor a bug-bomb dropped on us all by apple. all that is going to be required is an update to certain plug ins so that they pass validation again, because there was a spec change. and according to reports, there doesn't seem to be anything critically wrong with these plug ins either.. they just don't match the new spec so AU val deems them as failed. you can still open the validation app and force logic to use them, and then continue working as normal, until updates come out.

  • Apple listen up! - Safari comment/feedback storm.

Having as much, of a problem using Safari as I am?
Seems Apple is leaving Safari in their dusty closet.
Take five minutes and send them a comment about Safari.
    I've provided the link below.

    Let our voices be heard.
Let a Safari update ring loud and clear.

    A slow and buggy Safari
Always a good idea to provide feedback to Apple.
What specific problems are you having with Safari? Except for an occasional slow down (usually web driven) Safari is stable for me. And I use a number of add-ons such as SAFT, Stand, SafariPlus, Acid Search.
Perhaps others in the forum can help you?

  • Would Apple listen to customers ever

I had replaced my Hard disk from Apple 2 times now. Still i hear grinding sound in both the replacement hard disk. Looks like apple provides only refurbished HDD as replacement. My Macbook is only 4 months old.
Is there any Apple executive to help me out with is frustrating service from apple. I am from INDIA. can anyone help.

As long as your unit is only 4 months old, you should still have warranty coverage through AppleCare India. Yes, you shouldn't have to replace the HDD over and over again, but maybe if it keeps having legitimate problems, your unit will be tagged as a "lemon" and swapped out completely -- who knows? It has been known to happen.
Have you been in contact with Apple through the following channels?
    http://www.apple.com/asia/support/
    (91) 1800 4250 744
    or
    (91) 80-4140-9000
That would be how India residents would get attention from the techs at Apple, not through this (user to user) discussion forum.

  • Apple listen up!! Itunes should include a diagnostic program for the Iphone

Hey Apple, with all the problems that are being reported on here with the Iphone
wouldn't it be prudent to include a diagnostic program in Itunes for the Iphone?
A program that could check for missing or corrupted files. Maybe one that could bring it back from a crash to restore it. Also scan the backup OS for missing or corrupted files. Can everyone else second this motion?

    Lgend45,
The restore replaces corrupted files. In addition the iPhone does its own checks during power on, updates, and restores. For example if you are prompted to restore during an update it is because a file that is not being changed by the update is not correct.
However, a restore can not fix issues caused by some unauthorized software.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Why is Apple listening to my conversation with Siri?

    Just curious

I am not sure what you mean but Siri works by taking your voice command and then sending it across the internet to the Siri servers to decode what you are want/are asking for etc.  The decoding of your command is not done on your iPhone.
Is this what you are concerned about?

  • Apple Does NOT listen to us

For quite sometime now ALOT of us have complained about podcasts showing up in the library. When podcast were added they were kept separate and didn't show up in the library this way when you leave you music on shuffle you don't get a podcast popping up in the middle of your songs. This should be an easy fix it was right all along. APPLE LISTEN TO US OR WE WILL SWITCH.

    Step 1:
    File>New Smart Playlist
    Step 2:
Artist is not Podcast (live updating, not limited to anything)
    Step 3:
Listen to your new playlist which now does not include podcasts.
Think about it this way. If Apple include podcasts in your library, then you can exclude them using the above method quite easiliy. If on the other hand, they chose to keep them entirely separate, and someone wanted them included within their library it would be much harder. The way they have it set up allows for both positions to be easily implemented.

Edit: PS: Exactly what are you going to switch to that's going to be a threat to Apple?

  • Why did Apple change the color labels of folders in 10.9.2?

What's the purpose of a dot when I can't even see them?
THE IDEA is to highlight a folder so you can easily find it.
I'm all for aesthetics but this is a change of practical design. It's annoying.

Also for the bug that iTunes doesn't minimize when I double-click the top edge of the window.
    It isn't a bug, it's a feature.
Actually, I kinda like the improvements to the "miniplayer" thing, even though it isn't the same thing as minimizing the app. The only thing I don't like about the miniplayer is the tiny, hard to hit icon used to toggle it on & off, but if I can just remember the Cmd-Option-M shortcut for that I'm OK with that too.
I wouldn't mind filling out a survey before they (Apple) curtained features.
After hanging around ASC for a few years, I have realized that almost everybody has very different ideas about the usefulness of just about every feature Apple has ever implemented. If Apple listened to users, I suspect we would end up with an OS so bloated it wouldn't even be able to crawl, much less run, on most Macs, & the user preferences alone would have so many options nobody could find the ones they wanted without help.
Actually, I think that may already be happening ... but I'm sure everybody has a different opinion about that, too!
