I want to know if apple is planning on restless in ios 7 to iPod touch 4th generation

No. The hardware in the fourth-gen iPod touch won't handle iOS 7 or Apple would have released it for your model of iPod. If you want to run iOS 7, you'll need a new iPod.

I can't update my iPod 4th generation to ios 6
I can't update my iPod 4th generation to ios 6... I've updated my iTunes to 10.7 checked my security software tried restoring my iPod and then downloading on my device and my laptop. When I connect it to the computer I try downloading & updating and only downloading.. Still nothing I get error messages, can't connect to update server messages.. I'm just thinking about giving up... What the heck do i do !!??? Will the local apple store do it for me and what's so going to be on the 5th gen I may just wait and get that one. Please help.
Are you sure you have a proper Internet connection? Make sure your iPod is connected to your computer, and you have an Internet connection.
Don't even get me started on the iPod Touch 5G, I actually own an iPod Touch 4G, and I've considered a lot about if I should get the new one. At first look, you might be sold by the features Apple has on their iPod Touch page. It has a taller screen that's a 4-inch Retina Display, has a much better camera with a flash, and comes with iOS 6 preinstalled with Siri. But the real breakthrough comes with the new connector. It's called Lighting, and it's much smaller. But if you have a dock connector that comes with some cars, and maybe a set of speakers or docking stations as alarm clocks, I encourage you not to get the new one. The usage of your old connectors requires a $30 adapter, which is a ridiculous price. And who knows how secure the adapters will be with your docking stations? I personally think Apple has crossed the line. If they are to put a new connector with their new products, they should ship with an adapter in the box, at least at first. This is why I strongly encourage you NOT to get the new 5th generation iPod Touch.
Sorry if I went a little off-topic there, but I wanted to get my point across. For your updating to iOS 6, I reccommend you check out other discussions in the support comunity, and see what other contributors have to say. Or go on Google and search your error messages, possibly someone might've already went through the same problem as you did. I really hope this helped! -
This morning, i tried turning on my ipod (4th generation) and it is stuck at the black start upp screen (the screen that has the siverish apple when you have first turned on your device). It has been stuck like this for about a half an hour now, and I'm not sure what to do. This would be the second time in at least three months I have had problems with it (around December it went into recovery mode and i had to reset it to the factory settings). Is there anyway I can handle this at home, or do i have to go into an apple store to have this fixed? Also, I plugged it into my computer and it didnt show up in itunes like it did last time. Thanks! (I'm pretty sure its the IOS 6 because i have not updated it since then).

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

Idk what to do.. it really ***** but it goes from apple screen for like 20 minutes to white screen for a few seconds and keeps repeating. idk what to do.... My home button doesn't work because it is jammed but my lock button works fine. please please tell me how to fix it. I'd greatlly appreciate the help. It sometimes has the apple on the screen, or says it needs to be charged, or is all white, black, or yellow. I have tried charging it, leaving it alone for a while and turning it off and back on. Nothing has worked. What should I try to do??? Help please!!!Try:

I just got an iPod 4th generation and Im trying to sync my iTunes songs and books from my dell laptop on to my iPod but it says I need iTunes 10.6.3. So I tryed to download it on the apple website but it keeps saying that there is an error. I have already tryed uninstalling all Apple Inc. programs on my laptop then trying to install iTunes again but that has had no success what so ever. I have started to get very frusterated with this . Hopefully someone can help. I would really appreciate it. Any suggestion?

It always starts to synch like any normal iPad but just when its stars to transfer the movies, music or what ever new media I want to get on the iPad, it instantly restarts the synch, and the only thing it does is synch the artworks for the music and movies, but I does not transfer any media. I have restored my iPad 4 times, nothing different, I have reinstated iTunes on my PC 3 times, nothing changed and I dont know what to do.

Okay, so somebody stole my Ipod, 4th generation, and it don't have IOS 7, it has IOS 6.1.4, and apparently I was tracking it with police officers this morning and when I get home from school (now, 4:26) it appears that it's offline and I can't see the location no more, so my question is... Can they still find out where is it located?
Your carrier might be able to locate it if it's on their network and they are ordered to do so by the police or the courts. It can't be tracked with Find My iPhone if it's offline.

You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6
