    The answer is subjective depending on your view point.
    Amazon prime has very little value accept for it's supposedly free movie service, so what you are really paying for is essentially a very similar service to NetFlix at a slightly higher cost, the Apple TV offers NetFlix and has a premium movie service in iTunes which most people would require in addition to NetFlix or Amazon. A hardware solution seems somewhat over the top to me.

    I think the problem is with the BBC. They've focused on iOS, Playstation and XBox. If they turned to the Apple TV Apple would, I'm sure, accommodate.
    I'd like to see LoveFilm on there as well...

    There is no such app currently for the ATV.  No one in these forums has any way of knowing if such an app will ever exist.
    It is possible to use AirPlay to send content from the Amazon Instant Video app on an iOS device to the ATV

    I have found that my Apple TV streams Netflix more reliably than my Sony Blu-Ray and would like to stream my Amazon Prime but currently Amazon Prime is not aupported in the Apple TV software.  Does anyone know if Apple will be supporting it?

    likely because both are their compatitions and I doubt they really make money on selling appletv's but make up for it when people who buy appletv's use them to buy stuff from itunes store rather then their compatition

    Providing you have a free HDMI port on the TV and the location you would put the Apple TV will allow it to connect to your network, you should be good to go.

    Speak to Amazon, their app does not support it.  It is not an issue the user can fix.  You can mirror if you have the capabiklity though.

    All the sudden, as i've read many other's have experienced, I can no longer connect to wifi in my own house with my iphone4s.  Nothing goes to the cloud. No matter what I've tried to fix it, nothing.  Any idea when Apple is going to get their act together and get another update to fix the last update????  Anyone have any luck fixing this - it's not a wifi problem.  It's an Apple issue, it was introduced to the device on their last update - what in the world are we supposed to do to fix it?

    I've been on the new IOS since it was released, and have no problems with wifi.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
    Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
    Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    Reset the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings)
    Restore the Apple TV (Settings > General > Reset > Restore)

    That is normal. The developer has to enable this, Amazon has chosen not to.

    The answer to the first question is easy: Apple sells music and movies. Amazon sells music and movies. Apple isn't going to do anything that encourages or allows you funnel your money to their competitors for something they very much want you to buy from Apple.

    Update the Amazon Instant Video app, I suspect the version installed is an older version that does not support AirPlay.
