Is Appleworks 6.2.9 Now Free to Use?

I just got AppleWorks 6.2.9 from the Abandonware site Macintosh Garden. I gather the Apple no longer sells or supports Appleworks, so can I legally use it on my iMac G4, G5 running Tiger? Thanks.

Thanks folks. I way playing with Appleworks while waiting for your replies. I have been using Open Office Aqua 3.2.1, the most current + last version for the PPC. Comparing the two, the sophistication, GUI, functionality, templates of Open Office is far superior although AppleWorks is much quicker. Legacy software like Appleworks is not really worth paying for so I'll see if there are any other replies, enjoy Open Office very much, was thinking of Appleworks as an alternate software for some occasions.
A similar situation for me was with a legacy version of Roxio Toast Titanium, version 6 in this case. This software is commonly available from a variety of internet sources. Roxio no longer sells or supports Toast 6, so I put in a call to Roxio support telling them how I got the program without paying, asking if I can use it. Their reply was that I was taking my chances using this legacy software but I was free to use, that Roxio no longer has any involvement with it, so I am successfully using it with Tiger

How to re-install an app downloaded in now free time without being charged

It means I've never purchased it and had no backup on iTunes or any other Apple devices, I just downloaded in now free time now deleted. You will need to check out a third-party utility. The diskutil CLI utility cannot non-destructively change the start of a partition map, only the end (which is why you only get the draggable handle in the GUI at the bottom of each partition...same idea).
To be honest, I'm not even sure how well third-party tools will do at this either. Changing the start of a partition is non-trivial, be cause of the partition map files, b-trees and so on which have to be moved. iPartition is well regarded, but also not free.
And regardless of what tool you use, you will want a backup of your data (assuming that it's data you want to keep, or you wouldn't care about non-destructive repartitioning). Which might mean that just getting a new HDD , copying the data and then repartitioning the current one and having an extra HDD because of it may be the simplest and safest solution anyway...

Before installation you should back up all your data.
When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard to bring it up to 10.6.8, or download the combo update from here:

Check via Software Update whether any further updates are required, particularly to iTunes (you will need the latest version in order to synch with mobile devices).
You should now see the App Store icon in iTunes, and you now need to set up your account:

If you need to run Appleworks 6 to export some data (for example a database, which cannot be opened by any other program):
a) If your Mac will still boot into Snow Leopard, partition your hard drive (or add an external hard drive) and install Snow Leopard (and the optional Rosetta) into it and use the "dual-boot" method to boot into Snow Leopard and run Appleworks 6; or
b) Install Snow Leopard Server into Parallels and run Appleworks 6 concurrently with Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks:

This app was priced at $24.95 us, and is now free from the app store if anyone is interested. This bit of software lets you access FCPX on your desk top or lap top from an iPad, and apparently it allows the user to do all editing from the iPad instead. If someone is using it already, what has your experience with it been?

It is not all that. You have to keep looking at it to use the contorls, interuptes your workflow. I much prefer "The Touch" as a remote control. Works with Magic Trackpad, lasptop trackpad, iPad. More intuitive, screen overlays for learning it. Way better approach.

Start up and shut down is slow after erasing free space using disk utility?

I went to Disk Utility, clicked Erase, and then "Erase Free Space." When I saw that it was going to take 1 hour and 30 minutes, I tried closing disk utility. It wouldn't let me exit, so instead I pressed "Skip." But when you hover over the "Skip" button it says, "Erase all data and reformat the disk."
I'm wondering if the fact that I pressed the skip button has anything to do with my computer shutting down/starting up A LOT slower now. If so, what can I do to fix it?

Just wanted to give an update. I called Apple and apparently, you shouldn't empty the free space using disk utility while you're logged in. I had to insert the Installations CD and press the "C" button while my computer restarted, and used Disk Utility from there. My start up and shut down speed still isn't exactly the way it was before, but this definitely made a difference.

Step 1: Turn off the iPhone. To do this press and hold the power button till you see the “Slide to Power off” screen. Now slide the button to turn it off.
In case your iPhone is stuck in an infinite loop and the previous option is unavailable, press and hold the Power and Home button till the screen goes off. Remember to leave both the buttons as soon as the screen goes off and before the Apple logo appears again.
Step 2: Connect the iPhone’s USB cable to your computer but not to your iPhone yet.
Step 3: Now hold down the Home button and while you are holding it connect the USB cable. Keep holding the Home button till you see the Connect to iTunes screen on your iPhone(Screenshot shown below). iTunes will show an alert saying a device in recovery mode has been detected.

Downloading from torrent sites is not necessarily safe - some sites include additions to the things you download. The point is: when something is free which costs money elsewhere, it may not be safe.
Personally, I would delete the video and make sure my system is still working correctly.

A few other things to keep in mind:Office 365 allows staff to install the company-licensed version of Microsoft Office on up to 5 devices, including those owned by the user. Office licensing, done.
Avast offers a free business antivirus product. But, honestly, who the [redacted] can't afford $30 a year to put a paid security product on a $400-$1,200 laptop?!
Unreimbursed business expenses may be tax deductible. Check with your finance department/company accountant to verify whether staff can claim some or all of the costs related to BYOD.
Remember that you cannot require BYOD without reasonable compensation. BYOD is not a way to completely offload equipment and software costs onto your employees. Also, that's just a dick move. Nobody wants to work for companies which pull crap like that.

Something that came into thought recently. What happens with free personal use only licensing and BYOD's
A good example for this would be AVG free licensing on some ones personal laptop but they then bring this to the office (say a company of 50+ users) to work on.
So a simple question with a potentially complicated answer. What should we be doing?
Other questions to go with this;To what extent do this go to?Are there exclusions (for example someone using remote desktop over vpn to a work machine)?What if that person has unlicensed software on their personal device, are we as a company now responsible?

Free draw using Mouse & Save it???

I have an applet code using which we can free draw using mouse. Say you can sign or draw anything on screen in the space given. Now, How do I store it as an image. IF not as an image, are there any other way to store the image drawn using the mouse.

Are you not drawing to an image anyway? If you don't then all your work will be lost if you minimize and restore the window.
On creating your canvas component obtain an image via JComponent.createImage(). When drawing with the mouse, draw to a Graphics object which is obtained from that image via Image.getGraphics(). Then in your paintComponent() method, paint that image to the on-screen Graphics object.
