Eligibility for FI certification exams

One of my friend is preparing for FI certification, however, he is still student of Bachelor of Commerce and doesn't have any practical financial experience nor SAP user.

My opinion is that he should finish Bachelor of Commerce program first. CA is also a very good career. If Heu2019s happy then stay because thatu2018s the ultimate goal. If youu2019re not so happy then change to IT.
But he should remember grass always looks greener on the other side.

The pre-requisite for the RAC certification exam is OCP for the database (the same or higher version).
Thus, for 1Z0-058 (Grid and RAC Expert in 11g), you need to be an 11g or 12c OCP.

I am assuming you intend to appear for the exam in India. Earlier, you required your employer to sponsor your exam. You could not directly appear for the exam without first appearing for the certification course. But things could have changed now. I haven't seen anything that really qualifies as the definitive guide to this particular certification, and the "free" sample tests I saw offered on the web had wrong answers to a lot of the questions. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from taking the test, but the availability of reliable material makes prepping for this test really tough.
When I took the exam, it touched on many areas of the product:
Core Content Server (profiles, security, admin applets for example)
Site Studio
Digital Asset Manager
Document Capture
Forms Recognition
Imaging
Universal Records Management
Information Rights Management
My experience and advice would be that you have to be aware of all of these areas (and I hope that I didn't miss mentioning any topic areas). You must be really strong in many areas to cover up for those areas of the test where your knowledge is lacking.
The questions are spread far enough around the overall suite where you realistically can't have more than one weak area of knowledge. As I recall. the test was 69 or 70 questions with a minimal passing score of 70%, so you are likely to see an average of about 8 or 9 questions per area mentioned above (more on some, less on others). If you've never dealt with Rights Management or Forms Recognition for example, you're likely to miss those questions, making your max score at best 56 out of 70, or 80% assuming you miss nothing else. That leaves you about 7 misses across the rest of the potential test material and still get a passing score.
The test is really designed for practitioners who have considerable experience in implementing the solution stack, as some of the questions that I saw could only be answered by someone who has done this for a while. I don't see this test as one where you can easily bluff your way through, or get enough reminders/hints from other questions to get through successfully, since the broad scope of the material that you must cover really doesn't lend itself to such hinting help.
I don't intend to sound negative on the test at all, but I want to set realistic expectations based on me actually taking the test.

SAP Certification Exam for sales order management

Hello All,
I am an SAP SD Consultant with 5 yrs of experience. My experience spans across different areas in SD which includes integration experience as well.
Off late i decided to appear for a certification exam & found the same in SAP website. SAP is offering the following certification exam as it relates to SO Management
"SAP Certified Application Professional - Sales Order Management with SAP ERP 6.0"
Can somebody advice/sugges me on if i can prepare for this exam on my own based on my work experiece or is it better to go to a centre which offers a certification training. I would appreciate any suggestions/comments

Hi Vekat,
Having knowledge is good but certification comes in different way. There will be questions from SAP materials and it might be just one line from the PDFs.
Its good to go thru the SAP materials applicable for this certification which can help you to prepare for it in a better way.
If you donot have these materials then you may go thru e-learnings/classroom trainings either from SAP Eduction or from its affiliated institutions.
