Is battery replacement covered under the warranty?

I've got an ipod touch and the battery is really bad now, needs to be replaced. Under the service page it says that it'll cost me £59 for battery replacement. However I still have my 1 year warranty until May 2012. So does the warranty cover the battery replacement or not ?

yes, it's covered by the warranty
I'm not sure that's correct.
Warranty covers manufacturing defects, including a defective battery, but it does not cover the replacement of a battery that has come to the end of its working life due to use. I suggest thilakshan that you check this page http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html which explains this (although this maybe the page you have already seen).
Another point to consider; there have been several posts in these discussions about poor battery life after updating the iOS. Perhaps you should check out some of those posts and make sure your problem is not that. After all, if you send it in and Apple say there is no problem with the battery (because it's the short-life-after-update problem) you will be no further forward.

    Hey,
My left ear bud keeps buzzing. Will it be covered under the warranty? I got my iPod Touch 2 weeks ago and I really don't want to buy new apple headphones. Please help I don't have a JOB and my parents are cheap! And I don't want to call apple for nothing! So are the headphones covered or am I 'SOL'?

They are covered by your warranty.

  • Is this covered under the warranty?

A month ago my iPhone was stolen. A teacher just confiscated it from the thief. However the glass on the screen and back were destroyed, but the LCD still worked. The battery was dead and when I tried charging it, it wouldn't. Is repairing this or getting a new one covered under the warranty?

    No. Only manufacturing defects are.

In the extremely unlikely event that the screen is damaged due to a manufacturing defect, it would be covered under the warranty. You would have to prove that to Apple that it is a manufacturing defect and not accidental damage. You can read this to see what you replacement options are.

  • What is covered under the Apple leather case warranty

Apple cases come with a one year warranty and apparently it covers workmanship and manufacturing defects but for a case, nearly everything could be claimed to be cosmetic damage caused by the user. Will they cover for example if the case goes wonky at the bottom where the gaps for the lightning port and EarPods ports are?

Sorry, dropping your device is not covered:
What type of damages are not covered by my warranty?
Apple's Limited Warranty for iPod excludes coverage for damage resulting from accident, liquid damage, disassembly, unauthorized service and unauthorized modifications. Please review the warranty for further details. When a service is not covered under the warranty, Apple will return your original iPod to you without providing service, and may hold you responsible for shipping costs, plus any applicable sales tax.

  • Is a cracked screen covered under the one year warranty

Is a cracked screen covered under the first one year warranty on an ipod touch?

    I'm afraid not:

An iPod that is ineligible for warranty service may be eligible for Out-of-Warranty (OOW) Service. For example, an iPod that has failed due to damage or liquid damage is ineligible for warranty service but eligible for OOW service. However, certain damage is ineligible for OOW service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications. • The volume button is stuck on my (6th generation) nano, how much will it cost to get it fixed and is it covered in the warranty?

As it says up top, The volume button got stuck. So, how much do you think it will cost me to get it fixed?
And is this something that is covered under the warranty?
I mean, the rest isn't broken or anything and is in working condition, I just need the volume button fixed.

The Apple warranty is one year.  If you purchased your Nano less than one year ago, it is covered by the warranty.  If purchased more than a year ago, it is not covered by the warranty.  Apple has a flat rate ($80, plus tax) for an out-of-warranty Nano repair.

  • Battery covered by the warranty?

Is the battery covered by the warranty? My PB is still under the standard year warranty, but my battery only lasts about 1 hour on normal usage (web browser, aim, word).
    Thanks!

The 1-year warranty will cover defective batteries under certain circumstances as highlighted in http://www.apple.com/batteries/replacements.html .

  • I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.

I have an iPhone 4s that is still covered under the AppleCare Protection Plan. I have a pretty significant crack across the screen and wanted to know if I have to pay any additional fees to replace the screen or replace the entire phone.
I was hesitant to purchase this protection plan at first about $70, but the customer service agent reassured me that there were no deductables and thats why I bought into it. But now that I look around on the support site, I see that it says that there are up to two incidents covered for a service fee of $49. Did I really get duped?

If the issue is a manufacturing defect, there is no cost to have the device replaced.
If the issue is a result of user damage (like a cracked screen) and you have AppleCare+ Apple will replace the device for the minimal fee of $49.  They will do this up to two times during the timeframe of the protection plan.
If the issue is the result of user damage and you do not have AppleCare+ then the Out of Warranty replacement cost is $199 for the 4S.
No, you were not duped, you were simply not completely informed.  Whether that was a result of them not sharing all the information or you only hearing what you wanted, no one here knows.
