Is bestbuy Canada getting the Star Wars steelbooks? And is there a digital copy with it?
Just hearing of the Star Wars steelbooks being released in the U.S. And UK. Are we gonna see them? And what are the details? Price, digital copies, etc...
I came on here to ask the exact same thing. This will be the 10th time in my life I've bought the original trilogy, but those Steelbooks look great.i only hope that when all the new movies are released, they get Steelbooks in matching artwork. Also noticed that these don't reference the episode #, likely so you can add the anthology films in the correct order

Warranty and support are ONLY valid in the country of origin. The only exception is the EU where the entire EU is treated as one country.
If the device will be used in India, buy it in India.
An unlocked iPhone will work on any supported GSM carrier world wide. The LTE portion of a US purchased, unlocked iPhone is unlikely to work outside North America as it does not support the appropriate bands used in other countries. -
How do I exit from the "Star Wars" display?
Hi all,
I did my first Time Machine backup last night, and I think it went OK.
Somehow, though, I hit the Time Machine icon during the backup, and I got into the "Star Wars" display. It wasn't showing me the progress of the backup, and it didn't show me when it was done. There was no way to get off this screen that I could find.
How do you get out of the "Star Wars" display? (I didn't want to hit "ESC" because I wasn't sure if that would end the backup.) I'll be doing manual backups (this is for a MacBook Pro that won't be plugged into the external hard-drive all the time); I won't always have to sit with this "Star Wars" screen, will I?
Thank you!The star wars screen and the process of backing up are two different things. The star wars screen is where you go to recover files, email, photos etc that have already been backed up. You don't have to be in this screen in order to back up because that happens automatically in the background. To exit, there is a cancel button in the lower left.

Time Machine does not display old files: the star wars screen stays stuck
I have been looking for an known report, but can't find it.
In Time Machine, I don't see the 'star wars' panels anymore. It was working when I installed it.
In an activated Timemachine screen, the date slider on the right of the screen does not react. Only the front most screen is seen = "now".
I used to have time machine on an airportextreme; but because of adding a shared USB printer I had to move the external HDD to my own iMac.
Time machine tells the backups are successful.
Did I do something wrong by moving the HDD around?
Did I do something wrong with 'permissions'? [I added myself as a user with read permissions.]
Should I reinstall Timemachine?

Sort of. Time Machine stores backup differently when they're done locally vs. over a network.
Double-click your external HD. It should have a "sparse bundle" including the name of your computer. Those are your network backups.
Double-click the sparse bundle to mount it, then try Time Machine again. If that doesn't work, quit Time Machine and control-click the TM icon in your menubar, or right-click the TM icon in your Dock, and select the +Browse ...+ option. That should show your backups in a small window; select them and click the +Use Selected Disk+ button.
Post back with your results and we'll explain further and see how you want to proceed. -
Will someone please make clear what the Star Wars display is
I see so many references to the so called Star Wars, but never any screenshot or illustrations. TM manuals say, " If you don't find the "Star Wars" display intuitive, PLEASE tell apple" . Great, now how about showing me what I should be seeing. What is the Star Wars initiative?
The manuals and FAQs keep referring to differences, once starting TM depending upon where you were when you started, but no illustrations showing any of these differences, such as Finder, iPhoto, and the mysterious Star Wars display initiative.Noodle-head wrote:

It's not in any of the manuals because Apple has never used that term (being a copyrighted title/term Apple would probably have to pay LucasFilm/Disney big bucks if permission was even granted). Calling the Time Machine interface "star wars" is something users made up.

Which Mac Pro? More cores=slower speeds? And most of us know the speed matters or FPU for music and I don't understand the faster is for the least amount of procs. And while I get the whole rendering thing and why it makes sense.
The above is what the bar says. It's been a while and wondered, maybe Apple changed the format for forums. Then got this nice big blank canvas to air my concerns. Went to school for Computer Science, BSEE, even worked at Analog Devices in Newton Massachusetts, where they make something for apple.
The bottom line is fast CPU = more FPU = more headroom and still can't figure out why the more cores= the slower it gets unless it's to get us in to a 6 core then come out with faster cores down the road or a newer Mac that uses the GPU. Also. Few. I'm the guy who said a few years ago Mac has an FCP that looks like iMovie on Steroids. Having said that I called the campus one day to ask them something and while I used to work for Apple, I think she thought I still did as she asked me, "HOW ARE THE 32 CORES/1DYE COMING ALONG? Not wanting to embarrass her I said fine, fine and then hung up. Makes the most sense as I never quite got the 2,6,12 cores when for years everything from memory to CPU's have been, in sets of 2 to the 2nd power. 2,4,8,16,32,64,120,256,512, 1024, 2048,4196,8192, 72,768. Wow. W-O-W and will be using whatever I get with Apollo Quad.

Hi guys, I Know how to get the list of users of a site collection by Get-SPUser cmdlet but hte problem is that this cmdlet doesnt give me the user Created at and modifed at properties

does anyone know how the cutout filter works and is there a way of achieving the same effect without using filters to get more control over final look?
Several ways to get similar results. Image > Adjustments > Posturize with low values similar to what you'd use n Cutout. This is the most flexible way I can think of as you keep the image in RGB mode with layers intact. A more radical approach would be to reduce bit depth using Indexed Colour. You'll need to experiment with settings, try changing Forced to Primaries, and Matte to Foreground Color. There's no going back from this route, although you can change the mode back to RGB to re-enable layers, adjustment layers etc.
A nice thing about the Filter gallery filters is that you can change the layer to a Smart object with all the control that gives you.
Now if only this forum could filter out bizarre content. -
IPod Touch 64GB activated October 2013 - how do I get the free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps?
I purchased (from an authorised seller - Dixons Duty Free, Heathrow) and activated an iPod Touch 64GB on 18th October 2013 (prior to the announcement of free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps but after the 1st Sepember 2013 date in their conditions). It had iOS6 preinstalled. I've updated to iOS7. How do I get the free iLife, iPhoto and iMovie apps? The App Store is trying to charge me for theese.

If your iOS device was activated for the first time after September 1, go to the App Storeon your iPod which should open to Featured. If not, tap on Featured at the lower left of the screen & scroll down to Collections & tap on New to the App Store? then scroll down to Apps Made by Apple & tap. You should now see the iWork & iLife apps as "FREE." -

A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. ?? I can't uninstall the Apple Software Update from my Control Panel. I am experiencing the exact same issue during the installtion process for iTunes 10.5.
I uninstalled all Apple components but when I attempted to uninstall the Apple Software Update I received the same message: "Fatal error during installtion." I was able to repair the Apple Software Update but still could not install iTunes 10.5 afterwards.
I have tried everything that I could find on these discussions pages as well as other suggestions on third party sites. I have the mini display port cable to hdmi. When I connect I can get audio but on the video I get the display auro screen and can't get my actual display to show as that is not what shows on my display. How can I fix this?
