Is bt infinity length of wire dependant

Hi i live in the countryside i at the moment have a connection of max 1.2 mb at most the wire has to come over 5k via a cabinet to my house will i still be likely to get infinity many thanks for any answers

Fibre is dependant on the distance from your home to your street cabinet whereas adsl id distance from exchange to home.

  • Infinity extension - What wires go where for RJ11 ...

    Hi all,
I had the engineer over today to install Infinity. Everything working good and he left me some CAT5 and an extension box as I want to extend the line to different part of the flat at a later date. However, I fancied doing it now but am having some issues getting the extension to work. I've followed the engineer's instructions which were:
Faceplate off and CAT5 single strand into 2 and 5 on the extension point (orange in 2 and orange/white in 5)
Now I cant' seem to figure out where the orange/white etc goes on the extension box - does it go into 4 and 5? This will be for an RJ11 connectotr o the homehub.
    Here is the extension box:
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

Yep thats what I was trying to say. 2 and 5 is for the phone line. Not the dsl, unless its not filtered.

  • GigaWorks T20 - can anyone tell me the length of the speaker wire?

What I need to know if anyone can help, is the length of wire/cable between the two speakers so I can determine whether it is long enough for my planned set up. The Creative site does state that the package includes "stereo-to-stereo audio cable (2m)" - however I'm not sure whether this refers to the cable between the speakers or if this cable is for some other use. • How to find length of string after encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package

    Hi,
I am planning do data encryption using DBMS_CRYPTO package. I want to find how much will be string length after encryption.
e.g When I try to encrypt string of length between 1-15 characters it gives me encrypted string of 32 characters. When I try with 16 charcters encrypted string is of 64 characters.
Is ther any formula to calculate length of encrypted string?
    Thanks
    Pravin

The length change is dependent upon the algorithm you are using which can be a combination of cipher block, padding, and chaining.
The best solution is determine the method you are going to use and apply it to the l ongest possible strings you are going to proces, then add some safety margin. There iis no penalty for defining your column as VARCHAR2(4000).

  • Missing s750 speaker wire

does anyone know where i can go about getting replacement speaker wire for the s750? i've moved a ridiculous amount of times and lost track of my rear speaker cables.

From what I can tell from my S750s, you should be able to go to any Radio Shack and buy a new wire. Just make sure that the plug in to the Sub woofer is the right size on the one end and it really wouldn't matter what the other end is because you plug in bare wire to the actual speaker itself. Find a 2 wire... err WIRE with the right connector for the Sub and strip it on the other end to connect to the speaker. Sound simple... yes? Make sure you get the right length of wire!

  • Wire gauge for the BNC-2120

The User Guide for the BNC-2120 specifies AWG 24 maximum. But the connector openings look much larger. What is the reason for the limitation to such a small wire? Thanks. Wayne

The 24 awg rating is just what the connectors are designed to use. The manual says not to use a larger wire - just to be explicit, it means don't use a smaller gauge wire (as you mention).
The insulation stripping spec is similar. It is the length of wire that fully fills the connector without having extra to bend or accidentally get pushed aside to short another connector.
These are specified to make using it easier for you, and to keep unintended stress and shorts out of the system.
Hope that clears the intention of the specs up.

  • Labview runtime engine

    Hello Guys,
i am in a bit of confusion when it comes to utilisation of runtime engines.
I have several programs which requires older runtime engines, i.e. 6.1. on my computer runtime 7.1 is installed, and seems to be incompatible with the program.
Do i need to install a runtime for every version dependant on the shipped program? where do i find old runtime engines (i need now 6.1).
Why cant i keep only the latest runtime?
related question: i received vis from a 7.1 version, while i run on this machine 8.0 (yes, the buggy one ). however there is an error opening the files, LV claims that the vi could not be converted since it has no diagram! what does that mean?
    Thanks!
... And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wires...

    Gabi1 wrote:
[...] however there is an error opening the files, LV claims that the vi could not be converted since it has no diagram! what does that mean? [...]
Since you have to recompile the VI for the "new" version, you need the sourcecode. And in LV, the BD is the uncompiled sourcecode. So, if you have no BD or it is blocked by any means, you cannot recompile this VI.
    And regarding the RTEs:
LV is not the only environment which needs a RTE. In fact, all programms need a RTE. It is only common, that many programming languages compile their applications in a way, the components of the OS work as RTE (this is true for e.g. ANSI C).
Other languages have their own RTEs, the most known example would be .NET where the .NET framework is the RTE. And just like LV, there are different versions of the .NET framework (1.0, 1.1, 2.0). And not all .NET assemblies can be executed with all framework-versions. So version-dependend applications are not as uncommon as some people might think.....

  • PCI-6221 pwm on separate 24 channel outputs

We have a PCI-6221 board and want to produce 24 separate 100 hz pwm signals. All 24 signal will be at the same frequency but they will all have different duty cycles. What is the best way to develop these separate 24 pwm signals?

    hei,
i am not familiar with the word "pwm". explain.
i guess you want to use the DIO signals, at 100Hz? this card has about 1MHz frequency. therefore depending on the accuracy of your waveforms, you can go to lower time base.
Once this is set, you can use DAQmx for addressing either all channels together, or one at a time. i would opt for the "1-channels n-samples", where your 1 channel is actually the whole combination of the 24 ports out.
in order to do that you will have to compute in advance (or at same time as you output to buffer), the whole 24bits for each cycle. that is one reason you might want to lower your timebase - lots of computation.
all you have to do now, is create a subvi wich will create 24 rows lists of values. the list will be following your timebase, say 1MHz.
then, assemble all columns into 3 words (3*8bytes), or one 32bit long. that will depend how you enter the data to DAQmx.
at the end you expect to have a single 1D array with all info for all 24 channels at a specific time. you enter that into buffer and start task.
for futur implementations, say if you want to do that for 100s of seconds, you will have to regenerate those function while it is running. we will get there as you finish the first step.
    Is it helpfull?

  • Problem with built-in animation text presets

    Hi,
I just started my first job with AE.
I want to make a very simple thing: animate text (to be precise, just 3 short words) with one of the excellent built-in effects, which was shipped with the product.
However I realized, that the final result of the effect, what I choosed from the list, is differs from the one that how I've seen it in the Adobe Gallery site.
So I tried other effects too (Flash, Blue Flash), and the outcome with AE is not the same, I would say it's on a complete different level.
For example, Pulse Exposure text effect seems to be a very complex thing on the website, while in AE it makes only fade-in and out to my text: no contour around the letters; characters also not growing, and shrinking, so it lacks almost all of the fancy features, that how the effect shows on the website.
Can you please help me where is the problem? Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thank you for your reply.
    It's CS4.
    I'm using SerpentineDBol.ttf font.
Your question 'How do you format the text?' I can not answer. I only do very basic things. I followed Lee Brimelow's video tutorial. Open new composition, 640 x 240, 25fps, 30s. Then I type three words, put in the middle. Choose character (font type), size. Then apply Effects & Presets -> Animation Presets -> Text etc. I apply the effect with 'drag & drop', RAM Preview first, then Play and that's all. But mine is not the same...
Only double-click U (or keep pushing long) makes anything, simple click nothing. This should be the animation properties menu. But this submenu is not covered in this video, so I didn't touch it.
I can see all the frames, I think it's the green bar, which is created when I first click on RAM Preview, isnt' it? Sometimes it's a short or full length green bar, depends on the effect what I choose. I'm playing with different setups for two days, I tried switching to other font type, but I always get low quality result, can't have the same effects like on the website gallery.
Where can I enable motion blur preview?
    Thanks & Cheers,

It depends on what you are doing. If you have wireless, and bluetooth running, that sounds about right. If these are off, that seems to be a little low, but its hard to say.

  • About to Upgrade MBP...... Checklist Review Appreciated ;)

    Hey Everyone,
I'm finally getting my first mac - a late 2011 13" MBP from a co-worker (who has retina ****) for a little less than a refurb - and am contemplating (well, preparing) to do an upgrade. [kind of ironic, one of the reasons I'm dumping BYOPC for a Mac is so that I don't have to worry about taking the time to do upgrades and the odd problems that sometimes result, eating away hours, and so I can outsource all my computer problems to the genius folks, but here I am doing upgrades to save a measly few $100.....]
First, I have some experience with this upgrades - I've done BYOPC for over a decade now, going through at least 5 systems, and used to be an apprentice admin, doing constant HDD/RAM switches on multiple machines on a SunOS network (back in the days when wooly mammoths walked the earth - but I'm not old enough to remember dinosaurs   ).
Anyway, it's a stock 4GB+HDD 13" late 2011 MBPl, and I'm looking to upgrade to a 128GB OCZ Vertex 4 SSD, and then 8GB RAM (one then the other.....).  A checklist is in order - would someone mind going over it to confirm that I haven't messed something up terribly?
I will be taking out the existing HDD (which has nothing of my own on it) without backing anything up on it.
    What I will be getting:
    1. SSD:  128GB OCZ Vertex 4 SSD (Vertex 4 VTX4-25SAT3-128G 128GB SATA 6.0GB/s Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) with Indilinx Everest 2 Controller from Microcenter)
Q: Bare SSD, without additional cables, brackets, Norton Ghost, etc.  is what I want, yes?
    2. Memory: Corsair 8GB DDR3-1333 (PC3-10600) CL9 Dual Channel SO-DIMM Laptop Memory Kit (Two 4GB Apple Memory Modules), again from Micro center
Q: Corsair's mac memory is fine, yes?
    3. T6 torx screwdriver
    4. standard phillips head screwdriver
    5. Spudger
Q: this is all I need, and I don't need anything else, yes?
    What I will be doing:
    a. Removing HDD and replacing with SSD
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-MacBook-Pro-13-Inch-Unibody-Late-2011-Har d-Drive/7656/1
    b. installing MacOS onto the SSD
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-Mac-OS-X-v10-5-Leopard/751/1
    c. Once above is confirmed to work, installing RAM:
    http://www.ifixit.com/Guide/Installing-MacBook-Pro-13-Inch-Unibody-Late-2011-RAM /7651/1
Q: those lists are all I need, yes?
    Final Question:
Finally, re: SSDs: is there any advantage for the Samsung 830 vs. the OCZ Vertex 4?  Only thing I can think of is if the whole thing goes south the folks at the Genius bar *might* be willing to work with the Samsung since it's allegedly what's in the 15" Retina.  Also, is crucial vs. OCZ vs. Samsung (or for that matter any other SSD), assmuing similar specs?  From what I've researched, OCZ Vertex 4 seems to be generally as good as the others.   Thanks,
    Marc

Marc, in addition to the other suggestions, I would recommend a static wirst strap, you can even make one with a length of flexible wire and an aligator clip.  Srip a length of wire long enough to wrap around your wrist, attach an aligator clip to the other end, and use that to attach yourself to the metal, power supply contact, or something else while working.  A lot of people just recommend touching the metal before starting but a wrist strap makes life a lot simpler by keeping you at the same static potential as the computer the entire time your fingers are inside.
There have been several great comments about Corsair memory the past few weeks...haven't seen anyone complain about it so looks like a good choice.  Right up there with Crucial and OWC.
Good luck and have a good time with your computer.

  • How to find WBS-Elements of CO-DOC-Numbers

    Hi,
I need to know, whether a wbs element exists for a CO doc number / CO item number, or not.
I have to create an extractor to load the doc number - wbs element mapping into BI.
Do someone have some R/3 table proposals?
Exists a meta data repository like in BI or a used-in function for R/3?
DataSource 0WBS_ELEMNT_ATTR extracts wbs elements as field POSID.
DataSource 0CO_OM_CCA_9 extracts CO doc number as field BELNR.
DataSource 0CO_OM_CCA_9 extracts CO item number as field BUZEI.
Field 0AUXACCVAL is not useable in case of error in R/3: PM orders with wbs elements will not get an valid 0AUXACCVAL value.
    Thanks and regards,

Depends upon your interpretation of "number of elements in the array"

</pbs>If you used something other than a primitive type for the array element type you could have a case. A value of integer zero for the other elements is still a value, so there are indeed 10 elements there.Even if it were not primitive, every element would have a value. • Pattern generation doesnt work - DIOHS96

    Hello
I have a trouble getting the DAQmx to do a pattern generation as expected.
the first mode of operation, is when i set the clock configuration to "sample clock": the card should support 2MHz operation, however, above about 2KHz, the card spits out everything BUT the last 16 samples! . the error i get is underbuffer, when i force the task to stop after having waited too long. above 1MHz the output operation dies in the middle, underbuffer error.
to note, i monitor all the time the data written to buffer, and the actual nb of samples generated. i see that i have written a nb of samples, that the memory has filled, that it recovers as the data is spit out, and that suddenly, 16 bits from the end it stops.
the second mode of operation, is by setting the clock configuration to " burst (input)", after the recommendation of Johannes from this same forum (by the way, i still want to understand why first mode of operation doesnt work). then, on most computers installed with same card the system works nicely, and i get 2MHz operation working.
But for one computer: a new HP, which had a bug already not recognising the NI card first, but after the bug fix from knowledgebase it recognised it. it seems this card work using traditional DAQ now on this specific computer.
What happens on this computer is that the "sample clock" configuration works as on any other computer, meaning badly. and the "burst input" mode, doesnt work at all. it spits out only the first 16 samples, then dies. i have to stop the task manually.
so you can check that i make no mistake, i attach my piece of code that does the work.
Hope that i get help fast! thanks
OOPS! this should have gone to hardware board! - disregard!

  • How not to realocate memory in a "buffer write" loop

    Hello,
i posted this also in the DIO board, but maybe this is specifically a Labview problem:
my application requires sending data to all 4 ports of a DIO 32HS at a 2MHz rate, for an undefined length of time.
preparing a bit less than the maximum buffer size (about 64MB /4 it seems) and setting the Buffer control to "reserve", i then begin to send information in arrays of 4 words to the "buffer Write", while cycling trough the buffer. after some initial buffer loading time ( about a second worth of timed output), i begin the output operation with DIO start.
my data being prepared online, i cant use a double buffer configuration (half buffer size being recreated and reloaded), because my application typically stops creating output words in the middle of such half buffer size, leaving the rest of the array full of null values, affecting my output applications.
However "Buffer write" reallocate memory each time a 4-bytes array is sent to it. therefore sending out 10ms worth of data takes 500ms, sending 100ms takes 5seconds!! this makes it impossible to actually prepare online the data to be sent out. by preparing the full length array in advance, the windows limitation of ~16Mwords then limits my output application to max ~8 seconds only.
Is there any way to avoid memory reallocation on calling the Buffer Write? what are actually the elements the dll requires?
i am using traditional NI-DAQ and Labview 7.1 or 8.2.
Thanks for any help on the subject.
... And here's where I keep assorted lengths of wires...

    Hello Kevin,
    Thanks for your answer.
attached is some test code (not very clean but should be understandable):
two elements are sent with a time lag of 100ms, during which frame 2 creates a null array of 4 words for about 200000 times (filling the time lag)
the four words are : 16 bits value, channel value 8Bit, and a 2 bit strobe (10 or 11) on port 4.
in this test, i let fill the buffer for this time, check how much time it took, and only after that allow execution out.
the idea of the final code will be to send an undefined nb of elements at various time intervals, to fill the buffer online (regeneratively hopefully) as the execution is taking place. it would be possible if "buffer write" would be fast enough, and i would avoid creating big chuncks of memory , as well as saving on the overall run time (calculation + output execution would be almost parallel, with a short time lag).
if it works, i would just need to introduce some wait commands if buffer filling is faster than execution.
i think the main problem right now is that when i call "buffer write" it realocates memory for its array.
    Tell me what you think.
