Is BW integrated to  XI Landscape?

Hi everybody
how can I know if my BW system is integrated to a XI System?
Thanks
FedeX

hi,
what do you mean BW integration to an XI system?
in most cases XI will only server as an integration server not as a data warehouse
server at the same time...

  • Solution Manager 7.1 Integration into SAP Landscape

    Hi All
    I have a few questions for all the SAP Solution Manager experts out there and for anyone that would like to take a stab at these questions. An organization would like to implement a 3 system landscape for the following SAP Applications; SAP ERP, SAP CRM, SAP SRM, SAP Portal, SAP XI, SAP BI (SAP BW and SAP BOBJ) as well as SAP Solution Manager. They want to use all the functionality that is available in Solution Manager. The questions that I pose is as follows;
         1. How many Solution Manager systems must one implement? A 3 system landscape or will a 2 system landscape suffice? Bearing in mind that    functionality such as CHARM will be implemented.
         2. Where will the productive SLD reside? How would this SLD connect to the Solution Manager Systems?
         3. To which Solution Manager System will all the diagnostic agents connect to?
Your expert input would gladly be appreciated and points awarded accordingly.
    Regards
    Deen

    Hi Deena,
I good approach would be to use a two system landscape.
Where - all sandbox and development systems are connected to develpoment solman.
and - all other systems, like quality, pre-prod, and prod are connected to production solman.
For CHARM, this is sufficient. Keep the hardware specs on the higher side of production solman.
You should use a separate SLD instance on your solution manager. WHY, incase you need to update the SP level, as SLD needs to be on the highest level, outage from SOLMAN or PI would be avoided.
You can also use, SLD of Solution manager, SYNC you dev sld with prod sld - uni directional sync - eg for stack generation.
SLD connect to your solution manager during solman_setup basic configuration and preparation of your landscape through LMDB.
    Check.

  • Sourcing CLM-SRM Integration : Supplier mapping

    Dear Experts,
We have successfully implemented the CLM-SRM integration in our landscape.Further to this we have some clarifications required regaridng certain possibilities regarding this scenario.
    1. Is it possible to have a different vendor names for a same vendor in SRM and CLM and to map these via XI in some way.
2 What is the primary purpose of  'External Validation' option in CLM which we see in Master Agreement.
Please let me know your valuable suggestions on this topic.
    Thanks and regards,
    Gopi

    Hi Prasad,
    hope you are doing fine.
I´m standing in front of a riddle!
I´m sending from the CLM-System a Contract to the SRM-System.
This can also be created without problems in the source system, as long as we have registered for the appropriate document type in the SRM as "internal number range".
But I want that the central contract is created in SRM with the "external number" and thus there is a single number for the contract.
Thus, this number would be the same in CLM and SRM.
Unfortunately, the SRM central contract always requires an " internal number ".
If this is not available, then there is a error (CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL) in the distribution of CLM contract at SRM.
Do you know if a BAdI in the Component "ESOSRMINT" exists, which can help me?
Thank you very much and best regards
    Ghumaan

  • CRM Implementation Landscape: Single Vs Multiple Instance

    Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where SAP CRM has to be implemented across Multiple Geagraphic Loacations (Europe, APAC, NAFTA).
We have to advise the client to go for Single Instance of SAP CRM or Multiple Instances.
What are the factors that have to be considered before taking this kind of decision?
What does SAP recommend for such cases, any documentation will be helpful.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Regards,
    Rahul

What are the factors that have to be considered before taking this kind of decision?
Mostly driven by the current setup, business model the company has now.
    (1) If R/3 (ERP, ECC) is in the landscape (I am sure it is), do they have separate instances in the different regions?
    (2) How is the master data? Business Partners, Products, Organizational data, Sales / Service Configuration. These are downloaded from the backend (R/3) into the CRM system.
    (3) How independent are these geographic regions? If they have disparate business models and master data, then it would be simpler to have multiple independent instances with limited integration within CRM landscape.
    (4) What processes in CRM? Do they plan in rolling out same scenarios?
Questions like these will drive the discussion on such questions. One-size-fits-all may not always be right choice.

  • Not able to see hierarchial org structure by clicking on Expand this branch

    Dear experts,
I am currently using the Online data extraction via sap for Nakisa Integration with SAP Landscape.
I have completed the configuration of Nakisa with the help of configuration guide and administrator guide - After completing administrator steps the org chart is visible - When i navigate to the org structure i can see the org unit under the org structure root that i configured as an administrator in the general settings section.
When i click the + sign ie on expand this branch i am not able to see all teh org units under the displayed branch.
Can you please guide me regarding how one can view the org structure below the selected branch when i click on expand this branch section.
Manager Personnel Id is not maintained for this org unit - Should the user clicking on the expand this branch be the manager of the org unit to see the org structure.
    Regards

    Dear Luke,
I am not able to see that navigation icons within an org chart box - The org unit that is displayed on clicking the orgchart does have branches in SAP but i am not able to see these navigation icons that lead me to these branches.
Is there any specific step that needs to be done to see these branches.
By the way what is the log file you are refering to is it the "PresentationResources.xml " or is it any other log file.

  • Changes in backing bean are not considered for deployment

    hi,
i'm not sure whether this is a jsf specific issue but..anyway, here's the case: I'm using eclipse ( lomboz) as ide and whenever i change something in my backing bean (let's say add a new method) it is not found after redeployment neither after clean command. after some startups the changes eventually are adopted. this is really annoying as just starting the server takes me half a minute. so if anybody ever had the same or similar problem or has any experience with hot deployment please sent me a clue.

Elena, the system is giving you this message as a (cryptic) reminder that even though you want to close the SDMJ, you have made changes in DEV and QA that need to be reversed with another transport.  Depending on your audit requirements, you may want to add these reversing entries on the same transport as a new task, or on an additional transport and send the whole thing through the normal processing.  The other alternative is to execute CRM_SOCM_SERVICE_REPORT - just make sure you have reversed the changes already made to maintain the integrity of your landscape.

  • Changes in development system are not excluded

Anyone had this issue in CHARM before ?
we have SLFN - SDCR - SDMJ open for a change.
Development complete and almost tested - transport of copies is in QA, but original transport is not released from DEV.
Business now wants to stop this change and close SLFN.
    How can I close/cancel SDMJ ?
When I try to cancel it, I get the message "Changes in development system are not excluded" and status is not changed.
Is there a way to force close SDMJ ?
    Thank you

  • Service users in SAP XI?

what are service users in SAP XI?

    Hi Ankur,
in XI basically we deal with two type of uses. they are
Service users are used for internal communication between XI components, which is
usually triggered by interaction of dialog users .The service users provide dialog-free
access to the involved XI components. They have SAP user roles in the ABAP part of the SAP
Web Application Server (AS) that are available as user groups in the J2EE part. The Integration Repository is associated with service user XIREPUSER. For each component, service users representing the respective components are created with the appropriate roles in the target components during installation. The passwords of the service users have to be defined during the installation process.
    Ex:
    Component Service
    Exchange Profile,
    System Landscape
    Directory
    User Role
    SAP_BC_AI_LANDSCAPE_DB_RFC
    Service User
    XILDUSER
Dialog users represent human users (as opposed to service users), who log on through the
various UIs of the Integration Builder, System Landscape Directory, and Runtime Workbench.
Dialog users are generally maintained in the ABAP part of the SAP Web AS. The roles for the different dialog users displayed in the following table are predefined and
    shipped.
    Dialog User Role Description
SAP_XI_DISPLAY_USER-- Read-only access to Integration Directory and
    Integration Repository
SAP_XI_DEVELOPER--- Design and development of integration processes

    Landscape:
The SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD) is the central information provider in a system landscape.
The SLD contains two types of information:
Component Information: This is information about all available SAP products and components, including their versions. If there are any third-party products in the system landscape, they are also registered here.
At design time of the integration objects, the component information is extracted from the SLD to define integration scenarios.
Landscape Description: This contains all installed systems in a system landscape.
When a collaborative business process is configured, the landscape descriptions are needed to determine the system information of the business partners involved.

  • R/3, APO, BW Quality Assurance Refresh order

    All,
We are determining the best and recommended way to refresh these QA systems that are integrated in our landscape.
    -R/3
    -APO
    -BW
Is there any recommended order/sequence in which they will have to be refreshed to maintain integrity? Can we refresh only one system and not others- r/3 only and not APO or BW? What are the issues?
I am looking for best practice that is followed across everywhere.
    System versions: R/3 4.6, APO 4.0, BW 3.0
    Need your input.
    Thanks
    satish

    In my point of view
We shall take the point in time image of all systems and then refresh.
The Livecache should be in sync with R3 side.If you have mismatch livecache and APO DB and R3  ,you may have some problem after refresh.
    My advise
R3 and APO shall be in sysc. That is possible if you have stopped the livecache  , APO DB and R3 at the same time and taken the backup. That backup you should use for the system refresh.
    Hope it helps.
    Thanks

  • Idoc metadata

    hi
why should we import idoc metadata while using idoc adapter and what do we mean by metadata.even in mapping idoc structure why we assign segment and begin to constant values and disable cntrol record field.
    regards
    raghu

    Hi Raghu,
    What is Metadata:
IDoc (Intermediate Document) metadata comprises structures for the corresponding IDoc types .This metadata is just a description of available structures
and fields.Using an RFC connection, metadata of this type can be either called directly at runtime or loaded to the Integration Server beforehand. Thus it can be loaded in two ways:
    1. During the runtime
    2. Before the actual message flow.
To find out what metadata has already been loaded, call the transaction Metadata Overview for IDoc Adapter (IDX2).The system displays a screen with the directory of all systems connected with the IDoc adapter (including a description) for which metadata has already been loaded. Choose Port Maintenance in IDoc Adapter () to call the corresponding transaction and to create additional ports.
    Why to Import:
To process an IDocs in the form of an IDOCXML
message, an IDoc’s metadata must be loaded into
the Integration Server so that SAP XI’s IDoc adapter can
change the native IDoc format into the XML representation.
All IDocs are created according to specific rules: This is the general structure (the record types) of every IDoc. Special rules affect the different IDoc types.
    Segment:
Segment is like a container which strores all administration information for technical processing, as well as the actual application data.of an IDOC.
    Fields :
A segment comprises segment fields as the smallest unit of the Idoc which contains the actual values and information.
    control record :
The control record is identical for all IDocs and contains the administration information, for example, sender, recipient and message. Note that the control record also contains the last processing status ( STATUS field).
If you disable the Apply Control Record Values from Payload indicator in the receiver IDoc adapter, the fields are filled from the system information not from the payload as:
    1. From XI sender service, configuration in Integration Directory, System Landscape Directory
    2. Constant LS
3 . From XI receiver service, configuration in Integration Directory, System Landscape Directory
If you enable the Apply Control Record Values from Payload indicator in the receiver IDoc adapter, the fields are filled from the IDoc-XML payload.
**Pls: Reward points if helpful **

    Jyoti

  • ESB or PI

    Hello All,
We are planning to integrate our 3rd party system with our SAP system to interface IDocs and our 3rd party informed us that
they want to use ESB as middlewear ,  If this is the case do we need to use both ESB and PI or only ESB ?
Please also let me know the details of ESB.
    Thanks in advance

ESB is a generic terminology. You can get its definition and details on google.
PI is still getting evolved as ESB. If you have integration with SAP landscape, it would be recommended to use PI. If however, your landscape already have some other middleware and you have just one SAP system to be used for communication in long run, you may use that other middleware as the ESB as well.
