  • Is Canon PIXMA MG8220 supported by Easy-PhotoPrint Pro? Can several printer drives coexist?

According to the Canon site, Easy-PhotoPrint Pro supports PIXMA MG8220, but when the former is automated from Photoshop CC in MacBook Pro it does not find any supported driver. Canon helpers do not answer this question flatly. Would any one know the answer for good? Then, I would like to know where to find which printer drivers are running in that computer, the matter being that I have installed, most certainly unwisely, several.
    Thanks for any answer

Hello again Learner. I am not directly using your equipment, but will throw out ieas until someone with more knowledge provides some input.
I attached a few links that might help. In addition I attached a screen shot from Print Studio Pro. Yours should be similar. Are you saying that your printer doesn't show up in the EPPP dropdown?
Are you able to print directly from Photoshop?

Upgrade to Yosemite 10.10.1 caused my Canon Pixma ip8500 printer to stop working. Canon no longer supporting this printer. Any solutions?

    Hi
    try this
    resolve my printer problem.
with Yosemite, Apple have upgraded CUPS to 2.0, and CUPS work different. So you need to change one think in configuration.
open terminal, and write the following commands:
sudo sh -c 'echo "Sandboxing Relaxed" >> /etc/cups/cups-files.conf'
you asked for the password for superuser
    sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd
after this check in print queue if the printer is ready and not in pause mode.
The printer now should work, if the printer only print in B&W you need to change the configuration in CUPS web interface.
try http://localhost:631/ ; if you receive a error telling the web interface is disabled, type in terminal services the following
    cupsctl WebInterface=yes
    after this try again http://localhost:631/
after this choose in the web page "Adding Printers and Classes", bellow the CUPS for Administrators title.
in the new page, choose manage printers; after this choose your printer.
    in the page of printer choose from the second combobox the option "set default options";
in the option page, change the color mode from monochrome to color, and save hitting the button "set default option", you be asked for a user and password with admin privileges.
After this your print is ok.

  • Canon mp620 not supported in Lion?

Am I missing something or just out of luck/at the mercy of Canon/Apple to release new drivers for a 4 year old printer?

Are you talking about the PIXMA MP620?  If so, then OSX 10.7 (Lion) is listed in the selection list.

  • Canon 6d raw support in Lightroom 3.6

Is there a way to update lightroom 3.6 with a newer version of camera raw that will support a Canon 6d raw file?

    No.
You can update to LR 4.3 or you can use the free DNG converter to convert your raw files to DNG for 3.6.

  • Canon 7D Raw Support in Aperture 2 after installing Aperture 3 trial

    Hi!
I'm having a really weird problem! A few months ago I purchased Aperture 2 and have been working with it ever since. About a week ago I installed the Aperture 3 trial to see what the general differences are. After playing with it I noticed not enough "useful" changes compared to Aperture 2 to actually purchase Aperture 3. So I removed Aperture 3 and went back to my good old Aperture 2.
Two days ago I bought the Canon EOS 7D, but when connecting to my Mac the Raw files are not supported by Aperture 2! While I was trying out Aperture 3 I used software update to update Camera Raw as well and it seems that Camera Raw Update 3.2 enabled Aperture 3 to work with my 7D's raw files but disabled Aperture 2 to support them! I searched the Apple support pages for older versions of Camera Raw and came across version 2.7 which should enable Aperture 2 to work with the EOS 7D. But as expected, I cannot install 2.7 because 3.2 is already installed!
Does anyone know wether it's possible to "downgrade" camera raw to version 2.7? Or is there any other solution to my problem? It can not believe that an innocent Aperture 3 trial forces me to actually upgrade to Aperture 3 because Aperture 2 now refuses to support my brand new 7D?! Is there anyone on this forum familiar with this problem and able to help me? Many thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Mick van Jaarsvelt

I am running with same type of problem. I have Aperture 2.0 and can not work the Raw files from my Canon 7D. I have no problems working Raw files from my old Rebel Canon camera. Did you solve your problem?

  • Canon 350d cr2 supported?

    Hi all.
I have Aperture 1.5 currently shipping but noticed something odd in the 'supported camera raw' page. Within it has an asterix next to Canon XT that's supposed to meaning 'providing optimized support' but not the 350d. Anyone know exactly what this support is? Here is the page I see it on:
    http://www.apple.com/au/aperture/raw/cameras.html
I certainly hope it is not as is the case with iPhoto where raw adjustments are actually performed on a Jpeg instead.
This concerns me somewhat as here in OZ the 350d was not supported by iPhoto 05 about a year ago (until a few OSX updates), whereas the XT was. Both with CR2 file ext. but different camera names.
Any clues? PLs let me know as I still have time to cancel the order.
    Cheers

    Hey cobracero,
just installed Aperture and can confirm no probs with a '350 d'. I am aware of your frustration as the initial purchase of my camera meant running around trying to find why iPhoto 05 (before I upgraded to 06) was showing 'unsupported format'. The camera 'name' was left out of the script of OSX and later written in after a few updates. If you haven't done so try another mac to see if iPhoto will see the raws. Basically, I wonder if you have a corrupt card. If not, it's obviously in Osx.
Sorry if this has already been mentioned.
    Good luck

  • Canon G9 not supported - Alternative

The topic of no RAW support for Canon G9 (CR2) that I posted yesterday was removed this afternoon. I did look into competitive products and they only recently posted upgrades to support Canon G9.
Lightroom v1.3 supporting G9 was launched approx. December 12. G9 Raw files worked with 1.2 but was not supported until 1.3. Upgrading to v1.3 messed up the RAW files processed under 1.2.
Bibble began support of G9 around December 17 This is not an option as for some reason Raw file for my older Olympus camera are no longer supported.
To be fair it appears most programs only began to support G9 within the last few weeks. I am leaning towards sticking with Aperture with the exceptions support for G9 should be in the next 4 weeks. In the mean time I can use the Canon Raw Processor that came with the camera and transfer files to Aperture.

Volker, do yourself a favor, stick with the Powerbook and Aperture. Apple's inexcusable delay in supporting the new format is no reason to cross over to the dark side. It is true Aperture does not yet support the G9, and I also find that very disappointing on the part of Apple. Many of the other apps do in fact support the G9-CR2 format.
I will briefly give you my experience. The G9 files are easily seen by Bridge CS3, and easily converted to .dng files by Adobe Camera Raw. But even those dng's are not seen by Aperture as they are based on the unsupported G9 RAW file type. The only easy way I have found to get them in Aperture is to use the Canon software "Raw Image Task" and save the files as tiffs. This was pretty speedy on my MacPro, and the files were promptly read by Aperture.

  • Canon EOS 6D support in LR 5?

Any news available, that LR 5 will support Canon EOS 6D with tethering in a future update?

DSLRemote Pro does not work with WIFI alone !
It needs the camera to be connected via USB to a computer.
But EOS utility can import camera files (pics) via WIFI to computer and I would like these pics to be imported via WIFI direct to LR (the watch folder work-around is known for months, already).
Many users in forums which own Canon EOS 6D would like to do this with LIGHTROOM, because it's the first Canon DSLR with built-in WIFI.
DSLRemote Pro does a different thing. It always uses a Camera, a computer and a smartphone to _make_ pictures remotely with the phone, but there's already a smartphone app which does this without a computer (EOS Remote).
So we talked about different things. :)

  • Canon Picture Style Support in Aperture

Is there a way to support the Canon Picture Styles in Aperture? The reason I want to use the Picture Styles is as they give a basic touch to pictures which is often fine for most picture. Only some pictures I really want to go through the full range of processing.
When I shoot picture using my EOS 400D and apply a specific Picture Style, i.e. monochrome, portrait or landscape, then this setting is not applied when importing the pictures into aperture at all!
I realized this when using monochrome as a picture style and then the pictures turned up in color in aperture...

this is probably a good way to come up with your own presets ...
i personally have never used the picture styles (except the BW on my IR only camera - i only want BW jpgs) ... but conceivably you could shoot RAW+JPEG and tweak the RAW till it looks like the JPEG and save those as presets ... it may take a few times to get them close ...
but definitely worth a shot if the picture styles really is the way you want to go ...

  • Canon S120 RAW support in Photoshop Elements

I have Elements version 11. It will not recognize RAW files from my new Canon S120 camera. I saw that others have said that version 12 doesn't recognize RAW from this camera either. Anyone have any suggestions short of buying the full version of Photoshop, which I don't otherwise need?

    Hi,
The S120 requires Camera Raw 8.3 or later. This is an update to PSE 12 but is not compatible with PSE 11.
If you don't want to buy PSE 12, then you could download & install the free Adobe DNG converter. You would then use that to convert your CR2 files to DNG files. The DNG files can then be processed by PSE 11.

Since Canon does not care about Linux, there are only two chances:
    1. Undigging something usable out of Canon's japanese FTP site (not too likely).
For the moment, nothing is in there:
    ftp://download.canon.jp/pub/driver/multipass/
    2. Warm up the 29.95 euros in your pocket and hope the next Turboprint version will support the printer part of it (that's more likely).
As for the scanner part, things look bleak...
The hardcore solution: Install Vmware player (free), ask a friend of yours with a full VMware licence to create for you a windows (any supported, or any you have a licence for...) virtual machine, and use that one to print/scan with the Canon drivers for windows... I know it sounds absolutely ugly, but blame Canon for that.

  • Canon 5D not supported?

Just got the new Canon 5D and can't download RAW images. I get an "unsupported image format" error.
    Any ideas?

Canon is generally well supported by Aperture. New models (such as the 5D Mark II) are likely to be supported soon, older models (such as the 20D) have been supported for years. If you need to know about a specific model, the search function (right side of this page) is your best friend. You will not only get an idea about whether or not a model is supported, but often people also discuss workarounds for unsupported cameras.
Aperture has seen an upgrade to 2.0 earlier this year, you can't buy the 1.xx version anymore. Apple constantly updates Aperture (aside from adding new camera models which is taking place independently of Aperture updates and also benefits other parts of the OS). These regular updates (say from 2.1 to 2.2) have always been free.

  • CANON PIXMA MX397 SUPPORT CODE 5B02

pls help me with my canon printer pixma mx397...at first, it said that ink waste pas was full so i just clicked the ok button on the machine. but when i tried  nozzle check or deep cleening, it said "Printer error has occurred. support code 5B02" how can i fix this problem?
    thanks and God bless!

Ebony,  I'll spell out specifically what could be inferred from my post.  11 inch paper works, 10.3 inch paper fails.  I'm not sure at what point between those two lengths the failure begins.  Some experimentation with various lengths could more precisely determine that, but Canon should do that research themselves.  The point is that it makes no sense to me that this limitation exists.  The mechanism should continually feed whatever size, within reason, that is fed as long as it detects more pages.  Obviously as some point the doc will be too short to feed correctly, but a difference of seven tenths of an inch is reasonable to expect functionality to continue.  Having 42 years of software development behind me, I really feel this issue can be fixed programaticly, be it driver or application.

  • Canon Powershot S100V Supported Format?

Does anyone know if the Canon S100V is a supported format? I have installed the Camera Raw 6.6 plug-in to CS5 but I cannot open the S100V images as I still get the 'camera model not supported' error message. The Adobe documentation says that Camera Raw 6.6 supports the S100 but there is no mention of the S100V (Chinese version of the camera).

    madjohn1 wrote:

That would be enough to make that model not supported.  If it's not mentioned, it's not supported.
