Yes. These days I prefer Brother printers. They appear to have engineered their printers with AirPrint as well as OS X compatibility from the start, unlike certain others who appear to have included it as an afterthought.
Brother's models are inexpensive, their ink is also inexpensive and lasts a long time, and their photo quality is at least as good as HP's. They have a two year warranty and lifetime free technical support with people who understand Apple.
Read the reviews (Amazon for instance, but be sure to read user reviews on the various manufacturer's websites as well) and decide for yourself.
If you require AirPrint compatibility, or if there is any possibility you may need it in the future, limit your search to printers that specifically indicate AirPrint compatibility.
Brother™ Monochrome Laser Printer and All-in-One models now support AirPrint.
Brother™ Color Inkjet All-in-One units now support AirPrint.
I have no affiliation with Brother but theirs was the first inkjet printer or "all-in-one" I have ever owned that simply works as well as the Macs I am accustomed to using. I positively detested every inkjet printer I ever had until I bought the Brother.

  • Is the canon eos rebel t3i compatible with Mac osx 10.9.1?

Is the canon eos rebel t3i compatible with Mac osx 10.9.1?
I am trying to transfer my photos from my camera to my Mac.
I have downloaded the software for the camera to my Mac BUT it cannot transfer the photos.
EOS Utility states that it cannot be used with this version of the operating system.
I am running on OSX 10.9.1
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance.

I would try uninstalling the canon software and then just plug your camera into your Mac. iPhoto should be all the software you should need.

  • Canon PowerShot A620 fully compatible with OS 10.4.6 and iPhoto 6?

I am about to buy my first digital camera... the Canon A620 looks like the one, but I'm a little confused about whether it's fully compatible with iPhoto 6. The Canon website says (implies, really) that it is, but I've seen some reviews by people who had different experiences. Does anybody in these discussions have this camera? Does it work ok with iPhoto 6?
Thanks. I don't want to make an expensive mistake.
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

I expect it works perfectly fine. I suggest you use the Canon software to download the pictures from the camera and them import them into iPhoto. You can get the software and the manual at www.powershot.com. The software at the Canon site may be newer than the CD that comes with the camera, too.
In my experience, iPhoto doesn't 'remember' which images you've already downloaded from a camera or a memory card reader. Each time is downloads all of them and then you can pick whether you want to "ignore duplicates". The Canon software shows you thumbnails of all the images and there is a mark on the images you've already downloaded -- you can select just a few images and it only grabs them (and tags that they were downloaded). On my USB 1.1 iMac the latter method is much faster.
Using the Canon software doesn't load the pix into iPhoto -- they're put into a folder and you import into iPhoto afterwards. You might choose to back all the images up to CD from the folders and just import the better photos into iPhoto at this point.
Another route is to use "Image Capture" on the Mac to download the photos. It puts them into a folder, like the Canon software, and it lets you choose just the images you want from an 'icon view'. Again though, it doesn't 'remember' which shots you've already downloaded; only the Canon software does.

  • Is Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 compatible with Mac mini?

Hi, I am thinking of getting a Mac mini. I currently have a Microsoft Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 which I use with my HP laptop. Does anyone know if it is fully compatible with Mac mini?

It is compatible -- to a certain extent.
The Windows key will become the  (Command) key. The Mac will let you know that the keyboard you plugged in couldn't be identified, so it will ask you to type the Z key, followed by the / key. Choose ANSI and you should be ready to use the keyboard. Any multimedia keys or extra keys not part of the standard keyboard layout will have no function. The F12 key becomes the Eject key.
(PS/2 keyboards are not compatible with the Mac, unless you purchase a $15 PS/2-to-USB converter.)

    Hi
I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

    Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
    Calibrate the monitor

  • Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

This is not true.  I've been using my 8400F with Mavericks since it was released.  However, mine was an upgrade from 10.8, so whatever drivers Canon installed when I bought the scanner several years ago continues to work.  And my new Mac Pro that I used Migration Assistant with also works with the scanner.  However, the other Mac Pro that was a clean install can't see the scanner and Canon's site claims there are no drivers.

  • What video cameras are compatible with mac without having to download software

What video cameras are compatible with mac computers without having to download software?

Did you try connecting your camera to the computer USB port via the supplied USB interface cable instead of plugging in the SD card directly?
No driver is needed to connect your computer to your camera.
    http://usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/camcorders/consumer_camcorders/consu mer_camcorders/vixia_hf_r52#DriversAndSoftware
Regardless of whether or not you 'like' downloading and installing software on your computer, Canon DOES HAVE software available for your specific camera and it IS compatible with recent versions of the Mac OS X operating system. Maybe try that instead of whining here about it not being compatible.

  • A good High Definition camcorder that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.5?

ok, i need to find a good HD camcorder for my macbook pro which uses imovie 08, but i am using imovie HD 6. my budget is around $250 and i am willing to purchase on ebay. i recently bought an HD camera off ebay for $130, it was good but i found out later it wasn't compatible with MAC! so, i need a little bit of help from anyone who knows anything about ebay, hd cameras, and mac support.
and one more question, is the Aiptek hd camera supporting Mac? - because is records in HD .MOV format which is mac format. (quicktime).

Those little Aiptek things, though supposedly shooting in hi-def, use high compression which iMovie HD 6 just can't deal with. If you buy one of those, you'll have to run the video through other programs first in order to make it compatible with iMovie 6.
They usually record in something like 720p ('progressive') mode, which iMovie generally doesn't like: it expects to receive normal i ('interlaced') video ..the kind which standard-def broadcast television generally uses.
A hi-def picture needs to be nice and stable for you to get the best out of it - otherwise it's just as much a wobbly blur as standard-def. So for good results you want a camera which has an image stabiliser built in. I don't think the cheap'n'cheerful Aipteks do.
Even though the Product Description may say "..A-HD is your 720p HD Camcorder, Digital Camera, and Personal Media Player/Recorder! Captures true to life, vibrant colors and astonishing High Definition images like you've never seen, right in the palm of your hand.." ..that's just advertising blurb or twaddle, of course. Who says that these are images "..like you've never seen.."? ..If you have already seen images from a JVC, Sony, Canon or other decent brand hi-def camcorder, then those from the Aiptek camcorders are pretty disappointing. But no advertiser is going to spend money to say "..images far more disappointing that those of other camcorders.." ..are they?
So - as Karsten suggests - you should be looking for an HDV hi-def camcorder on eBay.
P.S: You wrote "..records in HD .MOV format which is mac format. (quicktime).." ..but several QuickTime formats - although they do play in QuickTime Player - won't work properly within iMovie (e.g; sound or picture may be missing). Such formats need to be converted into another .mov, or .DV format before trying to use them in iMovie.

  • Is a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX9V fully compatible with a Macbook?

Is a Sony Cybershot DSC-HS9V fully compatible with a Macbook?

I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W350. It has never ejected correctly from either of my Macs. I had a Macbook running Snow Leopard, and now have a Macbook Pro running Maverick. I always get the "disk was not ejected correctly" message, even though I drag it to the trash, yadita, yadita. The most recent surprise was when the camera was automatically ejected before I was done using iPhoto, and was (of course) "not ejected correctly". If anyone has a fix I am listening closely! I always thought it was probably the driver, but don't know if it is a Mac or Sony thing.
