Is Captivate the Adobe product I need?

Greetings,
I recently saw an excellent presentation where someone presented what looked like Powerpoint slides but it seemed like it was embedded in an Adobe program. Basically, the presentation started with a bird's eye view of multiple slides which looked almost randomly placed (with intervening comments) and with prompts the point of view swooped to various parts of the content. It was highly impressive and engaging and I figure it's not the only trick the program can do. Only problem is, I'm not sure which Adobe product it was. Is this something that's within the realm of Captivate or is Presenter a better tool for these sort of tricks. I'm likely mostly to use it for face-to-face presentations although the ability to produce stuff for learning resources would potentially be useful.
All thoughts and advice gratefully received.
Andrew.

Thanks very much. This looks like what I saw. I was sure the screen had the Adobe symbol in the upper corner, which is why I've been looking here. Impressed by what I found here in my journeys anyway.
Thanks again.

  • How can we update or manage the Adobe Product for example Adobe Reader and Flash Player in a enterprise environment.  Enterprise lifecicle management

You will need to apply for both Reader and Flash Player Distribution agreements if you intend on enterprise deployments of these products.

If you are using SCCM and SCUP then use the available catalogs for both products.

    HI wjleshe,
I've checked your account using the email address that you use here in the forums, but I don't see any order history. Did you perhaps sign up with a different email address? Or did you sign up via the Reader mobile app for iOS or Android? If you got your subscription via an in-app purchase, Adobe wouldn't have record of your order. And, you would need to contact the app store if there is a problem with your subscription.

No. If you want full compatibility with that display for all Adobe apps you’ll need to move to Creative Cloud.

  • Media Encoder saying "The Adobe Product that installed Media Encoder has not activated"

I'm using Captivate 6 and one of the applications installed alongside this is Adobe Media Encoder. I've recently moved to a new Laptop. I de-activated Cap6 on the old one and sucessfully reactivated it on the new one. However, when I try to run Media Encoder on the new laptop I get a dialog box stating that "The Adobe Product that installed Media Encoder has not been activated". Does anyone know how I can resolve this?

    nominder,
Start by making sure your products are updated to the latest versions.  Launch Premiere Pro and choose Help>Updates.  Do all the updates (if any) and restart the computer.
As far as AME is concerned, you were one click shy of your desired goal - hitting the start button on AME.  AME works in the background so you can keep working in another Adobe application.  So the workflow is thus.
within Premiere Pro - file>export media
choose correct settings for your output type and click ok
AME launches and ques up the render - click start...
    Hope this helps,
    Dennis

  • I had all the adobe products on my old laptop and it broke, but i backed up the harddrive. why isn't it letting me use any of my adobe products!?

I'm so frustrated. My laptop overheated or something a few months ago, and i took it to a repair shop and he saved my hard drive. and I finally got a new macbook pro, and i have my old hard drive plugged in and dragged all my applications over. I tried editing a photo with photoshop, and it said "error 16: please uninstall and reinstall the product. If this problem still occurs, please contact technical support for help, and mention the error code.... "
what would uninstalling it and reinstalling it do? would i love everything or have to pay for it again? I'm a recent art student graduate, and i cannot afford getting the adobe products again and they're all on my computer, just not working. What do I do?

You can download CS6 from this link.  Use your current serial # to license it.
    Download CS6 products
If you registered your product online (as you should have), you can find your product serial # by logging into MyAdobe with your Adobe ID (e-mail) and password.

  • How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt?

How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt from coming up every time I open Photoshop CS5 on my Mac, even after I have responded that I do not want to participate?  This is becoming very annoying and I have looked on line for a method to turn this off without luck.
    Thanks,
    Alan

    It only asks once.
So it sounds like your preferences might not be getting saved for some reason (usually a permissions problem on your system)..

  • The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated

My Adobe Media Encoder CS4 was working perfectly.
I even exported a video one morning and that same afternoon it refused and gave me the following message:
"Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated.
Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder"
I reinstalled a couple of times, but nothing changed.
I uninstalled and installed CS5, it launched once then gave me the same message all over again.
I even tried to install it on another computer and it's giving me the same result.
I have been working on this video more a month, and I can't even export it.
Can anyone help ? I have a deadline to meet
    Thanks a lot

Hi, I've just been having the same problem but on my mac!
I have been trying to use XDCAM EX converted Mov files on my new MacBookPro with CS6. I have just completed the installation of ProRes Quictime codecs, but when I went back to try to re-open my Adobe Media Encoder, (that I was using without problem around an hour ago), I now get the same message that The-Jade was getting
"Thank you for using Adobe Media Encoder CS4. The Adobe product that installed Media Encoder has not activated.
Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use Media Encoder"
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,

  • Can you keep the Adobe products after you cancel your membership?

I was wondering if you can keep the Adobe products after you cancel your membership, whether on month-to-month or annual.

No... you stop paying rent, the programs stop working
If you want a (higher at one time) single purchase, and you can use 3 year old software, look at Creative Suite 6

  • Stop the Adobe Product Improvement Program prompt from appearing

How do I stop the Adobe Product Improvement program prompt from constantly popping up whenever I open a pdf?      I've tried to follow all the instructions to disable but to no avail.    When I go to Help and try to follow the path, I can't get to anywhere to de-select participation.   What can I do, this is very disruptive and wasn't occurring two weeks ago, but now all the time??
    Help ??

Thanks for the response.   I’ve done this before, and I’ve just tried it again, and it doesn’t change anything.
If I go to “Help” and choose “Improvement Program Options” it simply brings me back to the popup window that asks “Help Improve the Adobe Reader Experience” asking for permission to include me in the program.   This window offers these two options:
“Yes I would like to help make Reader even better”
    “No, thank you”
Then I can choose one of three actions
    “OK”
    “Remind Me Later”
    “Cancel”
No matter which one I choose it doesn’t change anything, next time I try to view a pdf this same window popsup again asking me to participate in the improvement program.
This wasn’t like this two weeks ago, it just started and without me changing any settings on my computer.
    What am I missing?
    Thanks,  Ed

  • The Adobe product that installed "Adobe Device Central" has not been activated.

After the download for the CS5.5 Design Standard finished, I pressed the handy button labeled "Download Complete! Open bundle." However, when I press that, I get a message that says:
Thank you for using "Adobe Device Central". The Adobe product that installed "Adobe Device Central" has not been activated. Please launch and activate that Adobe product before continuing to use "Adobe Device Central".
This has been the case for multiple attempts at varied times. What do I do?

Christy Wurtz can you please post a screen shot of this error?  Where are you downloading the installation files for Creative Suite 5.5 from?

  • Is Captivate the right product for me?

I am a college student, albeit an older one and I have previous IT experience as a network admin. I only say this so you know I'm not a total noob. So what I would like to do is become a course designer/creator for an adult/corporate audience. I am trying to teach myself various things as my school doesn't offer any classes on this sort of thing. I am pretty adept at Power Point animations and I have also been using a cloud-based service called Prezi to create a US citizenship informational class (more of a presentation, really). My goal is to make a few classes as a sort of e-portfolio for after graduation using 3 or 4 platforms. My next project is an English as a Second Language (ESL) class.
There are SO many different Adobe products that all look awesome in their own ways but of course they are expensive and I will be buying any software out of my own poor pockets. Additionally, I want to attend some instructor-led training at an Adobe training center in order to learn whatever product I use correctly. So, before I go to all that expense, do you guys think Captivate is the way to go? I mean, there's Authorware, the e-learning suite, Dreamweaver by itself, Presenter, etc. Based on my description of my goals, which product should I focus my time and money on?
    Thanks for all advice.
    - Roberta

    Hello again Roberta
I'm always baffled with folks that seem insistent on paying what a training center wants and traveling to the center. I've facilitated loads of classes virtually where we connect via screen sharing and I mentor as we go along and ultimately you end up with a better and more personalized result. You may ask questions at any time if you like, just like the classroom. But if you feel you must travel, pay extra and get dumped into a public class with however many others that may be present, it's your money and your time.
Just a heads up on this. Don't be surprised if you sign up for a class and you think you will be traveling only to discover that the class is later canceled. The way these training centers work is that they "bait the hook" by saying a class is scheduled for an arbitrary date. Then they sit back, wait and see how many folks express interest. Here's the kicker.
If not enough sign up, they cancel the class plain and simple and leave you hanging where you thought a class was going to happen. If enough folks do sign up, they then work their list of possible instructors to find one that will come and deliver the class. I'm one of several they may use. I'm certified by Adobe for RoboHelp and for Captivate.
Some training centers regularly use instructors that, while are certainly certified by Adobe, they aren't certified for Captivate. They may be certified for some other Adobe product such as Flash or Photoshop. This means that these instructors don't know the ins and outs of Captivate and will will essentially just read you the book.
Indeed I've facilitated many classes in Atlanta as well as many other locations for many different training companies.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Is it possible to adjust the interface of the Adobe products in the suites

I run my resiloution at 1600 X 1200 on both my moniotrs and when I open any Adobe product the words like "file, edit etc" are so small I can't see them very good, my tool bar is very small. If I lower my screen resiloution they get bigger but then every other software I use is huge. Adobe  are the only software that this happens to, Can I adjust how big the menus and tool bars are, also the palettes. ??
    Thanks in Advance
