Is changing my AppleID going to effect my ownership to Lion?

Hi all,
Well i'm going through tough time figuring this out, I've created a new AppleID that i'm willing to use as the one and only. i'm having issues with my previous AppleID that's connected to my @gmail account,, well that account is no longer in use (though i can still access it) ..
I browsed here and there about the effects of changing the AppleID and using it in iTunes Store, App Store (iOS & OSX) ,, I'm aware that no more updates are going to be available for my apps that I've downloaded using my previous AppleID , that doesn't matter much to me since I was sticking to free apps, except i'm wondering about OSX Lion, I've purchased Lion with that previous account, and now that i'm changing to a new AppleID i'm not sure how is it going to workout..
I'm also willing to contact Apple Support to manually permanently delete/disable that previous AppleID,, and I'm starting over getting my apps again.
Anyone can enlighten me about what are the exact issues that I might face changing to a new AppleID , and permanently disabling my previous one???
Thanks in advance

You are able to change your AppleID email association, effectively changing your AppleID from your Gmail to whatever you prefer and your past purchases, updates and all information will carry over.
1. go to appleid.apple.com
2. Click "Manage your Account" on the right side.
3. Once signed in click the "edit" button next to "Apple ID and Primary Email Address.
4. Delete your current email address, and enter the desired new email address.
5. The system will email you a confirmation link, so check your email and follow the link to confirm.
6. Your AppleID is now changed, and all your purchases and iTunes Store account and everything with Apple will associate with it.

  • Change the appleid on a computer

We gave a MacBook (10.7) to granddaughter for college (smart girl, will use it well) which I set up initially which means it was born with my AppleID. She has her own ID, so I'd really like to switch it to hers, but i cant figure out where to do that. I found a KB article that suggested going thru iTunes but the instructions didn't match my iTunes version and I couldn't translate to my version.
So - how can I change the AppleID association on a computer from one ID to another?
    Thanks!

    Michael,
You can de-activate the machines you would not be using by following the procedure below:
    1. Launch any product from Creative Cloud.
    2. Go to Help>Deactivate.
    3. Once the deactivate is clicked close the application and the subscription is no longer valid on that machine.
When you want to re-activate the team subscription launch the app and then go click on license this software.
On next page it will ask for you Adobe ID, please login with new team subscription ID and it will activate your team subscription on it.

  • Changed my appleid password and now can't find AT&T cellular data network

A few days ago, I changed my appleid password.  This morning I had occasion to try to use the AT&T cellular data network on my ipad and it keeps being unable to find it, coming back saying "No Service".  I do not believe there is truly an outage on that network.  I am using iOS 7.0.6.  I can access everything via my wireless network with no problem, using the new appleid password.  I have tried resetting the network settings on my ipad, turning off Find my Ipad, and restarting the ipad with no effect.  I just successfully backed up my ipad to Icloud and am about to do so to my computer as well, prior to trying a reset to factory settings.  Before I do the reset to factory settings, I thought I would ask if there are any other ideas or if this is some sort of known bug?  Thanks.

Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings > Enable Airplane Mode, wait five seconds, then turn off airplane mode.
Turn iPhone off and then on again.
Remove the SIM card and verify that it's a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it isn't damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Check for a carrier-settings update. Connect to a Wi-Fi network. Then tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, iOS will ask you if you want to install it. If Wi-Fi isn't available, connect your device to iTunes.
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Reset network settings by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This will reset all network settings, including Bluetooth pairing records, Wi-Fi passwords, VPN, and APN settings.
    Restore the iPhone.

  • Changing the language in After Effects cs5

Hello, I'm trying to change the language in After Effects cs5 from German to English on a mac (10.8.5 osx). I've tried going to package contents/resources/AMTlanguages and changing de_DE to en_US  but when I restart it and enter the serial number it says its incorrect for this product. I was able to change photoshop without any trouble but does anyone know if AE has a language specific license? help please and thank you!

Any standalone retail package is language specific as dictated by the serial number and installer. Lucky for you, you can easily set AE to English by creating a file called ae_force_english.txt in your user profile's documents folder. the file doesn't need to contain anything, it just needs to be present and named properly.

I changed my AppleID a long time ago to an email that I no longer use and I have updates for apps that I can't update because my old email is filled in to where i sign in and it wont let me change it to my new one???

The problem with those two apps is that they are supposed to be in your Apple ID and you didn't set up the Mac properly/completely when you got it.
You might try deleteing them and using OS X Recovery to install them again.

I changed my AppleID / email address after my old email expired, and now whenever I go to sign into iCloud on my computer it still shows my OLD AppleID in the log-in and it won't let me change it. So I can't sign into iCloud! I can still sign into iTunes though from my iPhone and laptop, but iCloud isn't working anymore, where do I go to update my AppleID in the log-in for iCloud???

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • I can't log into iCloud because I changed my appleid and it hasnt updated on my phone

I'm trying to log into an old iPhone but I've changed my AppleID since I've used it. So when i try to log into my iCloud account it still has the email address to my old account name and it wont let me change it to the new one. It's very frustrating. I can't restore the phone unless I turn off Find My iPhone but I cant because I cant log into the iCloud account...

    Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean that Find My Phone is asking for a password to a different Apple ID to your current Apple ID and that ID is a previous version of your current ID, not an entirely different one.
This feature has been introduced to make stolen phones useless to those that have stolen them.
However it can also arise when the user has changed their Apple ID details with Apple and not made the same changes to their iCloud account/Find My Phone on their device before upgrading to iOS 7, or if you restore from a previous back up made before you changed your details and some other circumstances.
The only solution is to change your Apple ID back to its previous state with Apple at My Apple ID using your current password, you don’t need access to this address if it’s previously been used with your Apple ID, once you have saved these details enter the password as requested on your device and then turn off "find my phone" and delete the account from your device. It may take a short while to remove the account.
You should then change your Apple ID back to its current state, save it once again and then log back in using your current Apple ID. Finally, turn "find my phone" back on once again.

So I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access iCloud with iOS7. ICloud shows my old appleID but I can't change it. How do I get iCloud to work with my updated ID?

    Hi ccharat,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities! It sounds like you did a good job editing your Apple ID and primary email address, but you didn’t sign out of iCloud on your iOS device before hand. What you may need to do in this situation is go back to the Apple ID website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the email address that is signed in with iCloud (there is no need to verify the account after editing it back to the old account, just changing it back is enough). Once your Apple ID is back to the original account, delete the iCloud account from the iOS device and be sure to keep all info on the device when prompted. After you delete the iCloud account, go back to the website and edit your Apple ID and primary email address back to the new address. Once it is back to the account you would like, you can sign into the iCloud on the iOS device with that new account and merge all of the data when prompted. Please use the following article as a reference.
iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5223
    Change your Apple ID temporarily
If signing out and back in to iMessage or FaceTime didn't help, try these steps:
Change your Apple ID to the Apple ID you used previously. You shouldn't need to verify the email address.
Go to Settings > iCloud. Complete these steps only if the Find My [Device] setting is turned on:
Scroll down and tap Delete Account, then tap Delete to confirm.
Tap “Keep on My [Device]” or “Delete from My [Device].” In either case, your data remains in iCloud and will be updated on your device when you sign in to iCloud again.
Enter the password for your previous Apple ID.
Change your Apple ID to the new email address that you want to use. You'll need to verify the email address.
Return to Settings > iCloud and sign in with your new Apple ID.
    I hope this helps,
    -Joe

  • I changed my appleID and primary email and now I can not access iCloud. ICloud shows my old appleID but I can't change it. How do I get iCloud to work with my updated ID?

I Changed my ISP and therefore changed my email address, which caused me to change my appleID.  I had no problems making the changes to my appleID but now I am having problems with iCloud. My old ID is still showing as my iCloud ID and I can not see where or how to change this. I keep getting an annoying pop up box to enter the password for my OLD appleID as well as error messages that I can't back up to iCloud.
CAn someone please tell me how I can fix this so my iCloud works.
    THank you!!!!!

Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.

    Greetings Ron,
After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with gift card issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:
If you can't redeem your iTunes Gift Card or code
    Contact iTunes Store Support
If the code is completely scratched off or you still can't redeem your gift card, contact iTunes Support:
Go to the iTunes Store support page and choose your country.
From the menu on the left, choose Contact Support.
    Click Contact iTunes Store Support.
    Follow the instructions.
iTunes Store Support might ask you to send these things:
Image of the full front and back of your gift card
Sales receipt showing when your card was purchased
Serial number from your gift card
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.

  • Why doesn't Apple allow changing your AppleID username?

i realize this subject is best sent to Apple Feedback ("Contact Us" link found at the bottom right of most pages on Apple's site). I post here to hopefully assemble others who have the same questions or concerns, with the ultimate result being a call for action, that more than just me emails Apple to see if the change I discuss here, and others before this post have made, might finally happen as this is not a new concern.
I have several AppleIDs. Not by want, but by mistake. Like many, when you bought a new Mac device, during set up many mistakenly created a new AppleID instead of using their original existing one. Some people do want multiple AppleIDs and that's fine. This post is about those who don't, but once an AppleID is created you're stuck with it, other than not using it/them and trying to stick with using just one and setting all devices and your logging to be just one AppleID.
The problem is that many didn't realize we created other AppleIDs and started to use them and then find out that they can't be merged and certain fields can't be changed. Period.
For me, i bought a new device and then noticed my posts here in Discussions show my full name instead of my long used nickname. When registering my new device I must have unknowingly input my full name not realizing I was assigning both creating a new AppleID until I posted next in Discussions.
The problem can be that instead of one AppleID, you end up with 2 or more and each AppleID stores your data specific to that ID and our AppleIDs don't talk to each other. For Discussions, because I logged in over time with different AppleIDs, so my posting and Activity are broken up over my different IDs. We don't have the ability to see all our posts in one place, AKA one login, or one login that can access all our other AppleIDs.
So if I need to find a post I started or contributed to, I may have to login with each AppleID until I find it.
Many people have questioned why does Apple have such a strict policy about AppleIDs when for the user, it can and does complicate using Apple products, forcing us to remember which AppleID we used for which device, Discussions, iTunes, etc. Again, some want separate ApleIDs for each use, but for those that don't, we have to manage not to accidentally create additional AppleIDs and/or if you get stuck with multiple AppleIDs that you make sure you only use one and ignore the others to prevent your data being fractured among more than one AppleID.
Apple must have a reason for insisting that those with more AppleIDs than desired can't merge or change certain fields, but it certainly doesn't seem to benefit the user. So why is their policy in force and regardless, with enough outcry AKA Feedback... It might impact enough on Apple to make some changes.
SO if you don't like having multiple AppleIDs and wish to merge them/some or change some of the now unchangeable fields, please send Feedback to Apple - found in the lower right "Contact Us"
    Thanks!

You are not alone. I am sure a lot of folks did exactly what you did, others found that they forgot passwords or security questions and the like.
[1] This seems solvable - if this identity is new, it could and should be changed by the Hosts
[2] Yep, that's the kicker (<- technical term) - the database holding all your posts uses your AppleID as the one solid 'keyword' to tie them all together, regardless of content  - there is probably yet another database for all Store issues - that seems a less daunting coding task to merge. But probably won't happen. A good source here among Hi-Levelers has told that a feature of iOS 8 (coming this Fall!!) will have 'family plan-like management features.  But I think it unlikely to extend to the discussions.
If you change that AppleID keyword, you lose all connectivity to those posts. Read on...
[3] I have a workaround for you: Go to each AppleID Profile page in A Seperate Tab. Even though you are not logged into each AppleID, you can still see everything about posts - you just can't set prefs. Not on one page, but for me, it would be easier to keep track of with it sorted by ID.
[4] Pardon my sarcasm, but make Sticky Note or something!! Seriously, just get it straight once and for all and keep it in a text file or spreadsheet if tits that complex.
[5] see 1-3. Apple will probably see your point with "Personal Information" on #1
Regarding your grass-roots effort, take care not to even insinuate a "P O L L" <- formatting mine. Super NoNo per ToU. Even if there were the effort made, I'll bet not enough folks suffer as you do to make a global change.
    Best luck
