I own Dreamweaver 8. I have a client would like to edit their
web site using Contribute CS3.
Will CS3 support the DW8 editable attribute tags?
E.g.

PS CS3 is not supported on Win 8. So, its best to upgrade to PS CS6 and use it flawlessly with Win 8.

When will you make adobe compatible with Dreamweaver

I'm a UI Designer. I know light html and CSS. I don't want to have to figure out all the latest browser compatibilities, and I want to be able to avoid learning javascript/jquery but be able have cool effects in my website or client websites like parallax scrolling, lightbox, etc.
If you went about this in an intelligent manner, you would make this compatible with Dreamweaver for designers to update, for UI/UX designers to use as high fidelity prototypes that can be handed off to developers later, and for designers to import into Dreamweaver to finesse styles and change elements. If this doesn't happen, I can easily see this becoming a dinosaur like Web Objects Fusion and clients will be left with obsolete products.
PLEASE make this a useful product that plays well with Dreamweaver!

You have it backwards. Google (and other 3rd-party vendors) must make their products compatible with the browser.

Photoshop and Indesign worked directly after the upgrade. I had some trouble getting Illustrator to work:
I had problems with Adobe Illustrator CS3 and Yosemite. After the upgrade I installed Java for OS X 2014-001, as suggested by others. This seemed to work (sometimes) but when I opened Illustrator for the 2nd time it failed to open. Illustrator opened without crashing, but it did not show any menus, if I opened an .ai file the file did load and show on the screen, but I could not click on the window (unresponsive). Essentially this made Illustrator useless. I tried the following:
Re-installation
Install Java for OS X 2014-001
Cleaning font cache
Checking permissions
Installing other versions of Java (both JRE and JDK)
Nothing seemed to help. Until finally 15 minutes ago I found the solution by accident:
Open System Preferences > Java
Wait for the Java Control Panel to load
Open Adobe Illustrator (while keeping the Java Control Panel window open)
Hope this will also help others!

The system requirements list Intel Pentium 4 or AMD Athlon 64 as the minimum.
However, you could always download the 30-day free trial to test it for yourself.

CS3 is old enough, and Win8.1 is new enough, that you may not find anyone here with that combination
Have you tried installing and using?
Doing Run as Administrator http://forums.adobe.com/thread/969395 [says Encore and also for "All" versions of Premiere] will often be needed
You also MAY need to right click the program icon and select a compatibility mode from the popup option window (I know this for Win7 but do NOT know if Win8.1 has the same popup)

As far as i know the updater for photoshop cs3 doesn't work anymore anyway to actually download and install the updates, so you probably should just find them

Hi I was just wondering if Master Collection CS3 was compatible with Windows 7. Has it been tested and was it successful? Or were there problems with it? If so is CS4 compatible or would I have to buy the newest version? No, CS3 was never tested on Win 7 and thus is not officially compatible or certified with it. The first version to fit that criteria is indeed CS4. That doesn't mean that CS3 couldn't run at alll on Win 7, though. Many users do, but the specific level of success depends on too many factors, so nobody can give you a definitive answer. If you can afford it, just get CS6/ Creative Cloud.

CS3 software (InDesign and/or any other components of the Creative Suite 3) is no longer available from Adobe or any authorized resellers. If you are attempting to buy a copy of CS3 off of eBay, Craig's List, or other such marketplaces, buyer beware. Much of that stuff is pirated or is not eligible for activation. A buyer should require that the seller guarantee that the serial number is valid and capable of being transfered to and re-registered your name. (For that matter, CS5 isn't still available, either!)
In terms of compatibility with MacOS 10.7, CS3 came out long before MacOS 10.7. Adobe does not officially support this configuration with CS3 and you should expect some incompatibilities.

I'm currently running Pre Pro CS3 on my dieing XP. Looking to purchase Sony Series F- Quad core i7 740 QM (173 GHz with Turbo Boost to 2.93 GHz), NVIDIA GeForce GT 425M GPU (1GB VRAM), 640 GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM), 8 GB DDR SDRAM, with Windows 7 Home Version. I'm choosing a laptop to travel. This is $2,300, out of my range- but can make it work. How does this look to you? I shoot mostly SD presentations with a Sony XD Cam EX- the PMW EX1. These presentations are about 2 hrs. long. I shoot HD when playing with outside scenery- hobby level.

Are files on Dreamweaver CC compatible with Dreamweaver CS6?

Does anybody happen to know about this? I am in a web design class and we're working on a midterm; the computers at my college has CS6, but now that I am home I have to work on the midterm with the CC version. I am curious if the Dreamweaver file at home will be affected when I get it on CS6. Last semester I made a similar mistake, but it was with InDesign CC. I am now worried that the same thing will happen with Dreamweaver.

Don't know if it helps you but as a Cloud member you have access to CS6, CC and CC 2014 versions.
So when you're at home you can still use Dreamweaver CS6 if you want to.
