Is CS4 compatible with Mac OS Mavericks?

After using a Nikon D200 and Creative Suite CS4 for years, I have recently upgraded my camera.  I purchased Lightroom 5 since CS4 does not support RAW files from my new camera.  However, I cannot install Lightroom since I am running OS 10.6.8 on my Mac.  I am wondering if I upgrade to Mavericks if I will lose my ability to use CS4.  Can anyone advise?  Thanks in advance!

  • Is Adobe CS4 compatible with Mac OSX Maverick?

    Hello,
Is Adobe CS4 compatible with Mac OSX Maverick?
    Thk

I just upgraded my OS to Mavericks X, and my previously installed Photoshop CS4 failed to run when I tried to launch it.
I even downloaded a brand new version from a link here that was in a "Mavericks X" column, giving me SOME confidence that it might just function on the new OS.
So far, I've been down 3 days since upgrading my OS. I cannot get Photoshop CS4 to run, no matter what I've tried!
Yes, I've uninstalled the prior version before installing the new one. I entered all of my serial number and registration information, and still NOTHING! Bridge appears to work fine, but Photoshop CS4 is just one big crater right now!
I'd like to just talk with a human at Adobe on the phone for a few minutes, which should be all that's needed to get it resolved, but they do NOT offer phone support for Photoshop products!!! And, I'm unable to locate how to even become a "Premium Member" (paid) that will allegedly provide phone support!
    HELP!

  • Is Photoshop 6.0 compatible with Mac OS Mavericks or Yosemite and if yes, how do I install?

is Photoshop 6.0 compatible with Mac OS Mavericks or Yosemite and if yes, how do I install?

Well, probably not what you wanted to hear, but if you come across an older Mac, you should be able to use your old copy.
These are the old system requirements.  You want CS6 or better for today's Intel/OSX Macs.
    • PowerPC® processor
    • Mac OS software version 8.5, 8.6,or 9.0
    • 64 MB of RAM* (with Virtual Memory on)
    • 125 MB of available hard-disk space (after install)
    • Color monitor with 256-color (8-bit) or greater video card
    • 800x600 or greater monitor resolution
    • CD-ROM drive
And thanks for reporting back, at least I know what happened even if it didn't fix things.

  • When is Canon going to update DPP to be compatible with Mac OS Maverick 10.9 ?

I recently recommended to an Australian friend to purchase EOS 700D and a 28-135 IS lens. She did so only to find out that DPP is not compatible with her Mac OS Maverick version 10.9. I feel embarrassed about my recommendation and the problem I caused her. When is Canon going to update DPP to make it compatible with all existing OSs?

Jeff, Does your Mac have an optical drive (newest models do not).  Apple does let you use the optical drive in another (presumably) nearby computer if there is one available.
Canon now lets you download the software (this is new... it used to be that you HAD to install the original media even if it was old (you did not have to run it... just had to install it) and then you could install the updates to bring it up to the current version.
To get the downloadable version of the software (this is the same software that's on the disk) first go to the Canon 6D software download page here:
    http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/slr_cameras/eos_6d#DriversAndSoftware
On the "Operating System" menu, pick "OS X Mountain Lion v10.8" (do this EVEN if you are really running Mavericks v10.9 -- because Canon hasn't added the software download disk to the 10.9 category yet).
From there, pick the choice named:
"EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 28.2A for Mac OS X (For users who cannot use the bundled CD)"
and since it's a long name, it probably reads:   "EOS Digital Solution Disk Software 28.2A for Ma..."
When you pick this and proceed through the steps to start the download, it will probably prompt you to type in the serial number of your camera.
From there you should be able to install using the download.

  • CS4 compatible with Mac Mini (OS 10.9)

I bought a new Mac Mini with OS 10.9 (Mavericks) and am getting error 150:30 when I try to open my CS4 on it. Before I bought the new Mac, I researched to make sure CS4 would work with it and Mac said they tested it and it would work.

Install it with sufficient user privileges and also run it that way. Also fix the permissions on your user Library folder so the licensing stuff can actually work.

Unfortunately that link is not that clear on your specific question.  My guess is that CS4 is not supported in ML 10.8.x.

  • Is Photoshop CS4 compatible with system Mac OS10.8.2 ?

Bought a MacBook Pro. 10.8.2 for Xmas. I have Adobe Creative Suite CS4. I migrated from a previous computer. Photoshop will not run. Error: Licensing for this product has stopped working. Error: 150:30. I have been searching online for an answer. I downloaded LicenseRecovery111.dmg and AdobeCreativeSuiteCleanerTool.dmg. Tried running the License Recover and it won't open. Have not tried the Suite cleaner. Also, installed flash player, not sure which version. Nothing is working. Is CS4 compatible with system 10.8.2 ?

Meuli please see Error "Licensing has stopped working" | Mac OS - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/error-licensing-stopped-mac-os.html for additional solutions to implement.  The licensing repair tool does not function on 10.7 or above.  The additional solutions listed in the referenced document should may allow you to resolve these difficulties.
In general when running a migration from one computer you will want to only migrate over your documents and settings.  Applications should be reinstalled from the installation media.

  • Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

Is CanoScan 8400F scanner compatible with Mac OS 10.9.2 (Mavericks)?

This is not true.  I've been using my 8400F with Mavericks since it was released.  However, mine was an upgrade from 10.8, so whatever drivers Canon installed when I bought the scanner several years ago continues to work.  And my new Mac Pro that I used Migration Assistant with also works with the scanner.  However, the other Mac Pro that was a clean install can't see the scanner and Canon's site claims there are no drivers.

  • Is my HP LaserJet 1300 postscript compatible with Mac 10.9 Mavericks?

I am using a LaserJet 1300 with Windows XP.  Because Microsoft does not support XP anymore, I must buy a new computer.  I am considering changing to the iMac, but I love my 1300 postscript printer.  The Mac sales rep said to find out if HP 1300 has drivers that are compatible with 10.9 Mavericks.
I've searched the Internet and even called customer support.  The customer rep was in India or somewhere.  I could not understand what he was saying.  Would appreciate any help with this.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
The Laserjet 1300 is supported on Mavericks, as you may find listed for the HP LaserJet 1300 Series below:

    emscape,
you can find Apple’s list of supported printers here. Have you looked on Dell’s Web site, to see if they claim Mavericks compatibility with that particular printer?
