Because PSE 11 has stopped working 12 hours after installation, I thought I might uninstall and reinstall it. Do I need to deactivate the serial number for this action?

The uninstaller has an option to deactivate as part of the uninstallation process.

Hi,
I have an individual membership plan with CC for the full suite. I currently have that set up on 2 machines. One in the office and one at home. However I am now looking to buy a macbook so that I can work on the road, or so to speak.
I will only ever be using these devices myself, one at a time. Im assuming I can just install CC on the new Macbook, and as long as I don't try and use all 3 at the same time, I should if anything, just be asked to put the login details for my CC back in so it can confirm the status?
Is that correct? Or am I going to run into unseen problems?

Interesting. That sounds pretty nice. Now the best scenario for me would be if there wasn't any deactivating necessary and it would let you install it on as many machines as you wanted and would only let you have two launched at any one time. Though that would probably require more communications with the servers. I currently have it on my work machine and my laptop and would love to have it on my desktop at home, which currently has CS5 on it.
It would also be nice if you could add a third machine for an additional monthly fee.

Unable to deactivate CS3 on XP Pro

I have a new computer and need to move my CS3 to it. I am running XP Pro and have had no problems installing or running any of the apps. There is not a deactivate option on help, instead it says receive elicense and return elicense. Either way, I'm ok with that, except that the options are greyed out. I tried every app and in all of them, it's greyed out. So, how do I deactivate so that I can reinstall on my new computer? This one is being trashed, so I don't care about having to uninstall. thanks for any help.

Are you just uninstalling ID, and leaving the rest of the suite in place? You don't need to deactivate to do that.
A suite license does not permit you to install individual components on many different machines so that different users have access to them, if that is what you are contemplating.

BADI deactivation in ECC6.0

Hi, I have a badi based on the definition 'ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST' in ECC6.0. I had to migrate it to the new enhancement point during our recent upgrade from 4.7. The BADI is called correctly and all our code contained within works well. However, when I deactivated it, which it did without an issue, it is still called from the SAP transaction in question, in this case ME21/2n. The enhancement implementation says it's inactive, the runtime behaviour tab says it's inactive however the badi is executed every time that part of the code is called. Does anyone know why this is happening?

I solved this one on my own. In ECC6.0 it seems that in addition to deactivating your own implementation in SE19 it is also necessary to do the same in SE18 under the enhancement implementations.

SPL - Deactivating Line Item Table - Trx GCL3

We currently have SPL ledger line item table activated.
That table is getting rather large and therefore increasingly costly in terms of performance and database cost.
We believe it is not strictly necessary given that we have FIGL account line item tables to support the audit trail.
In terms of deactivating - is it merely deselecting in Trx GCL3? Are there any implications?

Yes. You just need to uncheck the checkbox 'Write Line Items' in transaction code GCL2.

Federated Portal, Register button is Deactivated

I am trying to register Consumer Portal with Producer Portal, all the pre-requisites are met.
I have created the Producer Portal Object in the Netweaver Producers--> and inputing the necessary field values.
Connection tests went fine, but when I switch to Producer Registation, i see that "Register" button is Deactivated.
I don't think this issue is related with the connections or trust, reply back with your valuable suggestions on this.
Portal Versions: Both are on 7.01 SP13 Latest. (Netweaver Enhancement Pack1)

Thanks Kiran, 3 days ago when I try to enter all the values and click save, it told me that there is unexpected value in the host name and many weird problems.
I have cleared the portal fpn cache but since then I haven't tired again.
It worked fine today.

Material Ledger deactivation work effort

We are in the planning stage of a material ledger implementation and have seen comments about the difficulty of deactivating material ledger if you change your mind (requires Platinum level SAP consultants). Our management want us to include as a contingency the effort necessary to deactivate material ledger if we change our minds.
Has anyone deactivated material ledger and can you give me an idea of the effort involved? I have also been asked for a cost estimate, if anyone has that information available, also.

I assume that Material ledger once activated then very difficult to deactivated. If you have not activated profit center valuation, then it is a big task to deactivate.
Concern with the FI consultant as there is more financial complication in de activating.

As per the requirement you have mentioned, if you are done with configuring code,code groups & code group profile.
Also if you have assigned the code group profile to subject profile(check whether you assigned subject profile to the transaction type).
You have to do the following settings in Software Agent Framework(SAF) to get the Categorization activated keeping your scope of work in mind,
1) Check if the RFC destination for TREX is working u2013 perform a Connection Test with
Transaction code SM59
2) Configuring the Search Engine
In this activity, we use a wizard to define the basic settings for the search engine used in the Software Agent Framework (SAF). This is necessary for the compilation, clustering, and search functionality to work.
