Is designer available

I have just downloaded Java Studio Enterprise 8.
If a user wants to create a web application, consisting of a 'form' with 10 fields, is there a designer where the developer can simply drag and drop objects (e.g. buttons, text fields etc) onto a form?

Sun offers the Java Studio Creator IDE, intended (primarily) to create JSF web apps. Sun supports the NetBeans IDE, the open source basis for both NB and JSE.
Both of these provide DnD form design.
(Sun says their intent is to make both JSE and JSC add-on packs to NB)
Other (non-Sun) designers also provide this capability.

  • Are ready-made borders/frame designs available in PS CS6?

    I used Photoshop Elements 4 for many years and upgraded to 10 about a year ago; I recently downloaded Photoshop CS6 for the trial period.  In my projects I regularly use the ready-made frame and border designs that are available in the “content” section of PSE.  I thought that a more extensive program like CS6 would offer a larger variety of ready-made frames, but I have been unable to find any at all.  I’ve checked the Adobe help pages, the CS6 user manual, and also googled for information; I’ve found tutorials on how to create frames but nothing about any ready-made designs.  Are they not offered as part of CS6? Thank you in advance for your help.  (PC, Win7 OS, PS CS6 vers. 13.0 x64)

    Thank you all for the information.  (I never would have found those frame options without your screencap, R_Kelly.)  Having worked with PSE for so many years, the concept of “action sets” is completely new to me, as are many other features of CS6.  I can see I have a significant learning curve ahead of me, but it seems that once I learn it, CS6 will offer me much more flexibility in my designs.  In the meantime, it’s good to know there are ready-made options available for download; JJMack, I can just imagine the many hours you have put into the packages you are making available, so I appreciate the link.
    I’ve never posted in this forum before, and I have to say the quick and informative response to my question is very impressive.  Thanks again.

  • BEx Query Designer Opening Problem

    Hi Guys,
    I am working on BI 7.0. My system OS is Windows XP. When i try to open Query Designer it showing an as below.
    Component 'BEx Query Designer': available version 154, version 229 required.
    Before you can continue you have to run the front-end setup.
    please let me know to resolve this issue.
    Thanks
    Murali

    Hi Murali,
    To make sure it works, you should make sure that:
    When you installed the SAP GUI, you have checked the BI option (in addition to the BW option)
    Install the latest front end patch (BI patch 7) from SAP Marketplace
    I highly recommand to also install the BI SP07 patch for the server - it adds lots of stability for the front end.
    It works pretty well for us, I am sure you will also eventually make it work
    hope this solves ur problem....
    Regards,
    Bala...

  • New - Online Trial of LiveCycle Designer

    Hi all:
    We've now made LiveCycle Designer available as an online trial. If you want to try it out, but don't want to download the product, you can head to http://adobe.demoservers.com and try Designer online, without having to install anything.
    Let us know what you think of this new service by responding in this thread. The online trial also includes the ability to test drive Adobe Acrobat Professional, again without having to install any software.

    I don't see a problem in downloading the ES Trial under this URL: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=livecycle_designer

  • How can I get back to editing in Design view?

    I can't edit my web pages in Design view. When I DON'T have Live View on, nor Live Code, I only get a cursor shaped like a NO circle and I cannot click on anything to edit it. I can only make changes in the code window.
    What can I do to restore editablilty in Design view?

    Sorry this has taken so long. I have been trying a few things. One is the fact my template my pages are all based on has an editable region, which is where the uneditable are is within.. Other editable areas in the template are available for me to click into and edit, but not the main area.
    I tried moving the main div inside the editable region, but then, although it is now editable, the main div gets wiped away when the site pages get updated. So then I am forced to go back to the previous situation.

    /* Tips for mainContent:
    1. The space between the mainContent and sidebar1 is created with the left margin on the mainContent div.  No matter how much content the sidebar1 div contains, the column space will remain. You can remove this left margin if you want the #mainContent div's text to fill the #sidebar1 space when the content in #sidebar1 ends.
    2. Be aware it is possible to cause float drop (the dropping of the non-floated mainContent area below the sidebar) if an element wider than it can contain is placed within the mainContent div. WIth a hybrid layout (percentage-based overall width with em-based sidebar), it may not be possible to calculate the exact width available. If the user's text size is larger than average, you will have a wider sidebar div and thus, less room in the mainContent div. You should be aware of this limitation - especially if the client is adding content with Contribute.
    3. In the Internet Explorer Conditional Comment below, the zoom property is used to give the mainContent "hasLayout." This may help avoid several IE-specific bugs.
    /* Miscellaneous classes for reuse */
    .fltrt { /* this class can be used to float an element right in your page. The floated element must precede the element it should be next to on the page. */
              float: right;
              margin-left: 8px;
    .fltlft { /* this class can be used to float an element left in your page */
              float: left;
              margin-right: 8px;
              azimuth:center-left
    .clearfloat { /* this class should be placed on a div or break element and should be the final element before the close of a container that should fully contain a float */
              clear:both;
        height:0;
        font-size: 1px;
        line-height: 0px;
    [if IE]>
    <style type="text/css">
    /* place css fixes for all versions of IE in this conditional comment */
    #navbar, #header, #mainContent, #container, navbuttonlineup, #centercore, #leftside, #rightside, #adspace, #mainblurb, #pictscolumn {zoom: 1;}
    #header {
              top:0px;
              position:absolute;
    /* the above proprietary zoom property gives IE the hasLayout it needs to avoid several bugs */
    </style>
    <![endif]
    If you have any solution, I would greatly appreciate it!

  • Data Template Designer

    Hi there,
    Can anyone enlighten me - what options exist to create data templates other than hand crafting the XML? Is there a BI Publisher data template designer available? We are using BI Publisher as part of E-Business Suite (11.5.10.2)
    Also, does any utility exist which will take a SQL statement and create an valid data template based on it?
    Thanks,
    - Matt

    Careful with the recommendations for XPAAJ. There are specific restrictions around whether you can
    use XPAAJ or not. Specifically, you have to own a copy of one of the server-based LiveCycle
    products. This does not include LiveCycle Designer, which is a client product.
    Maybe someone from Adobe can clarify.

  • Oracle OLAP Desktop-like cube designer application

    I am looking for any kind of Desktop-like cube designer application offered from Oracle. Using drap and drop, the end user can design cube without any programming knowledge (for example, no XML programming knowledge). I have tried an open source OLAP application called Pentaho Mondrian which has a GUI based Java application called Cube Designer. I have tried that application to design a basic cube for our business, but the problem is that it requires a lot of XML programming knowledge. Is there such a Desktop-like cube designer available from Oracle?
    Thanks,

    Thanks for your information. By looking at Oracle OTN, I found several interesting products - Discoverer, Oracle Warehouse Builder (OWB) and Analytic Workspace Manager (AWM). There is a tutorial for how to create multi-dimentional cube using AWM on OTN. What are differences among those products? You mentioned OWB is a general-purpose ETL tool with creating cubes capability. Is OWB required for AWM to work? Should the data be stored as Star or Snowflake schema in the database using OWB tool so that the AWM can create cube based on the Star or Snowflake schema data? I am confused about the relationship among those tools.
    Thanks,

  • How to use form design for both online and Offline Scenrio!

    Hi All,
    I have created the forms using WebDynpro context with ZCI layout for Online scenario.
    There are some fields which need to be prefilled and are read only.. Header fields.
    There is no interface structures created seperately but the interface is constructed through webdynpro context.
    Now that I have to use the same for offline scenario, I don't see layout in SFP of form. I can create a structure for Importing fields but there is no Layout for mapping?
    Do I need create seperate forms for this as I have some prefilled hedaer fields which I can't pass using download beacause there is no context design available for this?
    Regards,
    Srinivas

    you could either create a separate form for your offline form using Data Dictionary interface or use the Data Dictionary interface for both of your forms.
    You do have the option of creating your own XML file for your offline form - you may be able to copy the XML code out of your online interface, save it to a file and use that for your offline interface - i'm not 100% sure on this as I've never done that.

  • IP - Issues with Input Query: Works on Bex analyzer but not on Web

    I am doing the following:
    Created a Aggregation level for a multi provider which has only real time infoproviders associated with it
    Created the query using Bex Query Designer availing all the options for planning
    When I execute this query it executes using a web template and does not open up the Key Figure cells for input, I had tried using the Web Application designer with Save button but still the same issue
    I tried the same on Bex analyzer and it works fine
    Please help to resolve the above issue.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ram,
    Cells should be input enabled on the web just running the query. No need to create a Webtemplate, altough you need to have the webtemplate to be able to use the "save data" function.
    Maybe your query is not input ready at all, and you're misinterpreting analyzer layout.
    To test this, please enter some plan data in analyzer, right click and choose "save".
    Please check if data is written to the real time infoprovider.
    Hope this helps you.
    Regards,

    I've run a report three times with "include All Objects" ticked . When I inspect the generated file , it is empty.
    Any suggestions please ?
    Oracle SQL Dev 3.2.20.09 / Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit.

    Check the data modeler log file (\sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.datamodeler\log\datamodeler.log) for possible exception.
    Is this happening for all output formats? In reports generation dialog there are combo boxes 'Available designs' & 'Available models'. Is the selected model non-empty? In the report generation directory there is file report_data.xml. Is this file empty or just the report file is empty?

    This should NOT work!  The UI elements should safe encode all input values - thereby eliminating the value of any HTML tags. If you system isn't doing this already then it is a bug and if you rely on such a thing it will stop working at some point in the future.
    You are basically restricted to different values available via the design parameter.  The overall font sizes come from the underlying themes and the client applications (browser or NetWeaver Business Client) that host the Web Dynpro Application.  Therefore no direct specification of the font size is possible in order to stay within the controls of theme.  If you don't like any of the designs available, you might consider altering the Portal Theme you are using - but that is a rather drastic approach.

  • How do I create this title?

    How do I create a title with a blur in the background like this?

    for me this looks like one of the -zillion of free Title-designs avail across the net ...
    but to re-enact such a look, one option which comes to my mind is:
    • added a title to project, in red
    • alt-drag title-clip to create a copy of it
    • the lower one set to yellow
    • applied a Gaussian blur, played with some settings, see screen-shot above: 80% transparency, lots of blur, lots of 'boost'…
    … maybe not the most elegant way, but … close.

  • How to deploy crystal reports in Windows Azure

    I have developed a web application using VS 2008 and also developed some crystal reports for the appliation, now my task is to  migrate the web application to windows azure and to migrate to Windows Azure we have to convert the application to VS 2010 but in VS 2010 there is no inbuilt Crystal reports now my question is how should i migrate my crystal reports to windows Azure, kindly help me.
    Thanks in Advance
    Ramakrishna Reddy

    Hi,
    Installing [CR for VS 2010 |http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0.exe]on top of visual studio 2010 will give you a bundled crystal designer available inside visual studio 2010 IDE. Apply [SP2 on CR for VS 2010 |http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_13_0_2.exe]Upgrade the reports in the bundled designer and compile / build your application.
    Take a look at the Deployment section of [CR for VS 2010 Developer guide |http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/sapCRVS2010/en/crnet_dg_2010_en.zip]for recommendded deployment procedures.
    The [MSI (Redistributable runtimes)|http://downloads.businessobjects.com/akdlm/cr4vs2010/CRforVS_redist_install_32bit_13_0_2.zip] is meant to install manually on the app server / client machine.
    Search the forum for 'cr for vs 2010 deployment' you will find many useful threads, kbases, wikis.
    Hope this helps,
    Bhushan.

  • BI services and xcelisus

    Hi,
    I am creating a dashboard using live office ( i need crosstab reports, so using live office connecting to a webi report). but my webi reports are taking long time to run, so dahboards are also. so i thought to create cache the reports data and use it in dashboards. but i am new to BI serives, can anyone expalin me how to use BI services and cross tabs reports in xcelsius.
    Do i need any addin in xcelisus components?
    Thanks
    Krishna

    Hi Krishna,
    BI Services can be consumed without restriction I know by Xcelsius 2008 SP3 and above. You simply need to define a new QaaWS connection from the Xcelsius data manager and map it to the BI Service call you want (QaaWS connections will enable to use serialized sessions if you want to consume the dashboard from Infoview).
    You can improve dashboard interactivity and scalability as BI Services enable to leverage scheduled documents as well as pass report filters.
    BI Services can be designed from WebI report parts with a specific designer available with XI 3.1 SP2 (and above) WebI Rich Client. FYI, this designer is also available from Webi applet in Infoview since release 4.0
    Hope that helps,
    David.
