Is direct deletion without archiving possible?

Hi All,
I have a scenario in which i have to delete messages of a particular interface directly after a retention period of 7 days. I should not archive the messages. And this should apply only to that interface and not the others.
How can i do this?

Hi Sivasakthi,
Below are my answers
If a message is not flagged for archiving and it is automatically flagged for deletion, will it be deleted automatically by SAP after the retention peiod is exceeded or do we have to schedule the delete job?
You need to schedule the jobs, please schedule below jobs
RSXMB_DELETE_ARCHIVED_MESSAGES Delete Archived XML Messages
RSXMB_DELETE_MESSAGES Delete XML Messages from the Persistency Layer marked for DEL
When a message is deleted we will not be able to view it in SXMB_MONI isnt it? What about messages that are archived?
You will not be able to see both of them but you can retrive the arhived messages using 'Archived XML messages' option in SXMB_MONI transaction
And incase i maintain a retention period for deletion as 10 and archive retention period as 30, it makes no sense isnt it?
Because the message will be deleted by delete job before it becomes available for archival.
YES, you are correct.
I request you go through my blog & wiki that covers the basics of this concept

  • Deletion without archiving is not allowed in the production client

    Hi Gurus!
I have a new problem with regards deleting products in the Production system in CRM. I can't seem to delete the product in Production Box using this report(COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE). It gives me this error: 'Deletion without archiving is not allowed in the production client' I'm doing this to solve my issue with regards some of the products not having any Sales and Distribution Data. The steps i did below worked in QA box.
These are the steps i did in the QA box to delete the product:
    1) I've deleted the products that has no sales data using the report COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE. I went to COMMPR01 to tag the said products with a status 'To Archive' then saved it before I triggered this report.
    2) I've registered it first in the table COMC_PR_TOOL_REG and filling up the necessary parameters
    3) After Deleting the said products in CRM, I logged into R/3 to access the material (MM02). I just changed the sales text and saved it to trigger the replication in CRM.
When I checked the product in CRM, it worked. The Sales and Distribution Data is already shown.
Now I have a new problem with regards this procedure. I can't seem to delete the product in Production Box using this report. It gives me this error: 'Deletion without archiving is not allowed in the production client'
I have already followed the same procedure as to what I did in the QA box but for some reason it didn't work in the Production Box.
Could anyone please help me with this. Thanks!
    Thanks & Regards
    Nathan

I was able to solve the problem.
In Report COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE,there is a special check in order for the productive system detection.
The logic in this program has a perform check_authority which will automatically produce the error and prevents you from deleting a product in the production system.
    Solution:
I copied the program COM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE to new one ZCOM_PRODUCT_DELETE_SINGLE then I placed a comment on the PERFORM check_authority.

    Hi,
this is what the "Test" mode is doing, but it's recommended to avoid using it for productive systems.

  • Delete message without archiving before

    Hi,
how can I delete messages (only successful processed messages) without archiving before.
I thing RSXMB_DELETE_MESSAGES just deletes messages archived before.
    Thanx
    regards
    Wolfgang

    Hi,
    From the help.sap.com link:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/0e/80553b4d53273de10000000a114084/frameset.htm -
"Messages that have been processed correctly are deleted by default. You must archive all messages that are not to be deleted."
So I think as far as you didn schedule the job for archiving the selected interface messages, it will be automatically getting deleted. But you need to configure SXMB_ADM>Integration Engine Configuration>Specific Parameters.

  • Read report - deleted without reading

Sent a letter with the "read report", and Icamethe message status.
    "was delivered and not
    read" - in Outlook
    and
    "was deleted without reading"
    - in the mail client Iphone, Windows Phone
In this case, the recipient has not read
the letter, and it was not removed.
Moreover, if I send the same email to other
recipients, such messages do not come
only after reading the notice of the reading.
If I send another letter to the same
recipient, no notifications are also absent.
    Also disturbs formulation posts
when viewed through the operating system IOS (Iphone, Windows Phone),
since changing the meaning of the notice.
Person receiving such a message might think that
the recipient has deleted the message
    without reading.
Help to understand why only one letter has come
to such a notification, and whether it is possible
to change the text messages to mobile devices?

    Hi,
I would like to collect some information.
What’s the client version on the recipient’s side?
Does the recipient use AutoArchive to save the outlook data?
When a message is archived, it's copied to the archive file, then deleted from the server.
If the message was not saved to the Archive, where the message go to?
Please update the exchange server to latest patch.
What’s more, do you mean change the text message of ‘was deleted without reading’ to the mobile devices? If yes, I couldn’t find a way to change the text messages.
    Thanks.

  • Error when printing a PDF direct from SAP archive

    Hi together,
I try to print a PDF direct from SAP archive and I got the error ""C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\reader\AcroRd.exe" /p /h" not found. In the internet I found several topics which describe this way to print a PDF without open the Acrobat Reader.
The customizing for document management (Local application) seems o.k. If I remove in the registry the parameters /h /p for print, Acrobat Reader will open and show the document if I use the print button in SAP.
Have anybody an idea what the reason is?
    Thank you.
    Regards
    Thomas

The rundll32 error seems to have disappeared.  Until this morning I had both this error and the rundll32.  All other types of docs open fine.  This one will open if saved to the desktop first, but not from Outlook.

  • Process Order Deletion and Archiving process

    Hi all,
I just want to ask what is the proper process in deleting and archiving process orders and what are the possible impacts on the other modules?
    Thanks!

Using SARA, Archiving object is PR_ORDER or t-code COAC.  Follow the step pre-process, write archive file, and delete from database.
I don't recall any prerequisite for archiving process orders.   However, costing guys/girls often yelled to keep process orders for a very long while so you might want to check with their requirement (Note that archiving is more business-oriented than you think).
Before you can do so, you must follow the steps of process order life cycle (from create, release, tech.comp., close, deletion flag, deletion indicator, accordingly).
For deletion flag, and deletion indicator, you can set via COAC t-code.  There is a set up for period lapse between deletion flag to deletion indicator to archive in order type configuration (residence time 1, 2).  Process order, for example,  must reside in database for 1 month after deletion flag and another 1 month after deletion indicator before you can archive them out if you set residence time 1,2 to 1.
    Hope it helps.

  • Absorption&Variable(Direct)method Costing, are possible both method on SAP?

    Hello my dear Gurus:
In our actual project; we are trying to include on SAP the Absorption and Variable (Direct) costing methods; this of course within the Controlling modules (Product costing (actual costing), CCA, IO's, etc.) In order to comply with the external (Absorption) and internal (Variable/Direct) costing requirements. So the Big question we already know that the absorption method is plain, BUT how can we include the variable (Direct) method costing with any development (i.e: Parallel Accounting costing (Alternative Valuation Run)). or configuring the Cost Components attributes that the (Fixed costs) are not included in the inventory valuation (TCODE OKTZ).
Our first impression is that SAP it is only capable to execute the analysis under the Absorption method without the Variable(direct) costing.
Please if you have both methods implemented, please let me know how you did it?
    Kinds regards!

    Hi,
Yes. This Variable/direct/Marginal Costing is possible in SAP. All you have to do is to create a Profitability Report. First you need to deduct all variable costs from the Revenue to arrive at  the contribution/Gross Margin. And then, you need to deduct Fixed costs from the Contribution to get the Profit. You can also find breakeven point and breakeven volume for the business. The only challenge is to segregate the costs into variable and fixed as accurately as possible.
Trust this helps to a large extent,
    Cheers,

  • Gmail app: swipe to delete not archive

In the Gmail app for iOS (not a Gmail account on the native Mail app), is it possible to swipe left to delete not archive? I've trawled through the web but didn't find anything. Nothing under Gmail app or any other settings either.

Thanks to everyone who mentioned swipe to delete!  I did not know that was an option.
I had downloaded some iTunes U content and then decided I didn't want it on my iPhone 4S 16gig, so I unchecked it in iTunes but this did not remove the files.
Swipe to delete did, so thank you!

  • Bidirectional One-To-One relationship without Indirection possible?

Is it possible to create a One-to-One Bi-directional relationship without using Indirection?
When I have tried this, Toplink returns the same related rows from the two tables over and over again until it throws an error.
I need to use this relationship without indirection as I want to be able to query one table and have it return data from the associated table, without having to reference fields in the associated table in my query.
Do you have any suggestions that might help?
    Thank you again,
    Lena

Doug, I'm not sure I follow the reason behind this completely. Say we are only loading data from our database--we "promise" never to change it. What we are seeing is that TopLink seems to get stuck in a loop when it is loading objects with a 1-1 bi-directional relationship.
So, ObjectA loads, and has a reference to ObjectB; ObjectB loads and has a reference to ObjectA; ObjectA loads again and has a reference to ObjectB....you see the problem.
I thought that by specifying "maintain bi-directional relationship" we were basically telling TopLink: ObjectA has an ObjectB, and ObjectB will reference ObjectA, but there's no need to reload it.
I guess I'm just stuck on why it would be required to use indirection in this case, since we always want to load our related objects. Any thoughts?

  • Cube Request Deletion - Other loads possible or LOCK problems

    Hi Folks,
can somebody tell me if there could be a lock situation if I have in one process chain the cube request deletion step running (cleaning out some request) and at the same time another load is running into the cube? We would not drop/re-create the index in load situation so no lock by the index operation.
    Any experience?
From what I have seen there shouldn'T be a problem as the request deletion will be "scheduled" and simply execute if lock is release (if there is any) and the deletion it self places only a quick lock to determine the request ID but doesn't much impact other loads.
Is this all correct? Or any other views?
    Thanks,
    Axel

    Hi,
    While Loading
    It is not possible to:
    ·        Delete data
    ·        Archive data
    ·        Delete indexes and reconstruct them
    ·        Reconstruct statistics

  • Difference between Delta "Change Log" and "Active Table (Without Archive)"?

In BI7.0 environment, we perform our Delta loads (the DTP settings under the Extraction tab, there is a field called Extraction Mode and it's value is selected as "Delta") every day among all our DSOs.
There is a section called "Delta Init. Extraction From..." under the same tab in DTP, there are four radio buttons:
    Active Table (With Archive)
    Active Table (Without Archive)
    Archive (Full Extraction Only)
    Change Log
Then what is the difference between "Change Log" and "Active Table (Without Archive)" if both Extraction Mode is "Delta" for two Delta loads?
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
The new options SP16 has are:(Chk Note 1096771)
    Active Table (with Archive)
The data is read from the active table and from the archive or from a near-line storage if one exists. You can choose this option even if there is no active data archiving process yet for the DataStore object.
    Active Table (Without Archive)
The data is only read from the active table. If there is data in the archive or in a near-line storage at the time of extraction, this data is not extracted.
    Archive (Only Full Extraction)
The data is only read from the archive or from a near-line storage. Data is not extracted from the active table.
    Change Log
The data is read from the change log of the DataStore object.
Delta will always be picked from change log table.Only during intialization you can choose between getting data from change log or active table. If you are doing the load first time and are initializzing delta in subsequent data targets, then pulling data from active table will get lesse volume of data then it would have got from change log table....All subsequent deltas will be picked up from the change log.  And when we need to reload data into the data target (which would be a full load) - we use active table.
From change log : you can take below ones as targets
    1) Cube 2) DSO with Addition as the update for the Keyfigures
From Active table: you can take below ones as targets
    1) Cube ,if and only if, the records are never changes in the source once after creation
    2) DSO with Addition as the update for the Keyfigures ,if and only if, the records are never changes in the source once after creation
    3) DSO with Overwrite as the update for the Keyfigures ( incase deletions is not happening in the source system)

  • Delete and Archive iCal entries

    Hi,
With other agenda/ToDo programs I have used, things get full and sluggish after a certain amount of entries accumulate. Typically, there is an option to delete and archive more distant entries from the past, along with ToDo items that have been checked off. These can be opened and searched separately, and I have typically archived ~ yearly.
Is there any built-in option to do this with iCal? I know there is an option to backup the database, but I thought this was mostly in case of corruption or loss of the file. If there is no built-in option, is this necessary, or will iCal operate without slowing or problems no matter how many entries I have? I prefer to have the deleted entries saved and able to be searched, to help track down distant past appointments and tasks.
As a last resort, are there any separate programs that allow this? I have been unable to find anything thus far.
Thanks in advance for any answers or advice on this matter.
    G4 Mirror Door   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

I just explored the gmail site and found the Archive button but no file. I selected a message and clicked Archive, homing the Archive file would appear. No luck. Nor can I find in the phone's Mail settings that I want to delete rather than archive. One would think Apple would have a document to suggest ways of managing email. One would think.
