Is Discoverer Certification available?

Is there any Certification available for Discoverer like OCP ?

Not at the moment. Oracle will launch a BI OCP track soon (somewhere this year), but I'm not sure if Discoverer will be part of it or only the OBIEE environment.

I do not believe Oracle offers any certifications for Discoverer as it is a sunset product.

Discoverer 4i availability

I just downloaded and installed Oracle 9iAS on NT only so I could test Discoverer 4i. I saw on technet that it is now shipped out only in the 9iAS download and I was wondering if it is still shipped as a separate product also. I already have apache on one machine but dont see the need for the entire 9iAS server software when I only would need Discoverer 4i. If it is available as stand-alone... do I need to order the CD since it appears it is not available for download? Thanks!

i downloaded discoverer 41 a couple of days ago. i went to the oracle download pulldown menu, selected discoverer and was presented with a dialog for downloaded the administrative and viewer versions. i am attempting to evaluate the product. however, i have not been able to install it on a server with and installed database. it does install if no oracle database has been installed.

Is SAP certification available only through Tech Ed?

Can one give SAP certification anytime during the year or is it only available through Tech ed from this year onwards? I had heard that from this year one can only give certification by registering through Tech ed, so just wanted to confirm if its true?

I dont think what you have heard is true.
Nothing of that sort has been mentioned of the offical website.

The advantage at TechEd is that certifications are being offered at a significantly reduced cost to SAP TechEd Full Conference registrants.

i am going to install oracle discoverer on linux 5.8.
OS:
Orale Enterprise Linux 5.8
Kernel:

got following errors.

OBIEE Certification availability

Hi Guys,
Is there any certification of OBIEE is available for non OPN candidates ?
Oracle site is confusing about this as they said
This certification is available to all candidates but is geared toward members of the Oracle Partner Network who are focused on selling and implementing Oracle Business Intelligence technology. OPN Members earning this certification will be recognized as OPN Certified Specialists, which helps their companies qualify for the Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Specialization.
Any help would be appreciated !

Any experience with the Discoverer Desktop on Vista

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone was using the Discoverer Desktop 10.1.2 on Vista.
Are there any specific patches required?
Did you encounter any bugs in the Discoverer Desktop when moving from Win XP to Vista?

So I found the answer to my question: if you want to use the discovere desktop don't migrate to Vista :-(

Discoverer 4.1.37 to Discoverer 10.1.2.2 are not certified with Windows Vista. It is not recommended to install Discoverer Plus, Viewer, Desktop or Administrator 10.1.2.2 or previous versions on Windows Vista because of several internal bugs specific to Windows Vista dynamic link libraries (.dlls) and memory pointers.
Discoverer 10.1.2.2 and previous versions will not be certified with Windows Vista.
Discoverer 10.1.2.3 is currently certified with Windows Vista. But currently, we are not recommending Patchset 10.1.2.3 to customers for two primary reasons:
Due to the code freeze time-line of 10.1.2.3, there is a delta between the code corrections/enhancements in Discoverer 10.1.2.2+CP7 and 10.1.2.3. Discoverer Development is currently working on cumulative patch 1 over 10.1.2.3. This note will be updated once it is available.

Project Management Certifications

Hi All,
After going through Training and certification shop website of SAP what I could understand is there are 4 certifications available related to Project Management whose codes are given below:
1. C_PM_71
2. C_TPLM22_60
3. C_TPLM22_64
4. C_TPLM50_95
(Please correct me if I am wrong.)
My query is related to the above certifications based on the below points:
1. Auidance to do this course?
2. Number of years of experience required for it / Eligibility criteria?
3. What is the market value for each 1 of the above mentioned courses?

Frankly speaking (my opinion), if you are more inclined towards technology, you should not go in for management level certifications (You would prefer an OCM as your manager than a typical project manager who probably would not understand the technicalities of an issue).
Its not that these certifications do not help at all, they do. They will help you manage the activities around you but then you tend to drift away from the technology.
There would definitely be other views, I am sure. :)

Difference between Oracle Discoverer and ReportsBuilder

I have a question concerning the differences between the two reporting solutions offered by Oracle : Oracle Discoverer Desktop and Oracle Reports Developer.
I am wondering if both of them support OLAP data, if they allow reports publishing (through a web server) and if they have an SDK kit.
Should we prefer one solution over another or each one has its own domain of use

discoverer is an end-user based tool for querying data. basically
an administrator prepares an environment that the end-user can
easily select his query without knowing anything about the technologies.
discoverer is available on the web (iAS) as well as on client/server (iDS).
reports is a powerful enterprise reporting tool which provides the
end-user a ready to use reports. basically a reports developer can
base a report on any datasource and you can get the output in any format
you like. report has open api's and powerfurl frameworks to extend the
out of the box functionality. you can design reports for paper based
reporting to produce output or you can design reports for the web.
reports is capable of dealing with mass data and for that fully scalable.
this was just a high level introduction.

Which certification I should go for?

Hi All,
I have been working on SQL, PL/SQL from last 4 years.
I know SQL and PL/SQL very well, but I don't have any Oracle certificate with me.
I went to Oraccle website there I found some 11g certifications like fundamental, administrator I and II.
I know SQL and PL/SQL in depth so I don't wanna go for any fundamental certificate.
Can anyone suggest me any more an advance certificate. After clearing this out I'll go for the next level. I want to know minimum advance level certification I am eligible for.

Based on the certification available on the website, I figured out two paths. Both paths are only related to 11g.
1Z0-051(SQL 11G FUNDAMENTAL I) -> 1Z0-144(PL/SQL 11G) -> 1Z0-146(ADVCD PL/SQL 11G)
1Z0-051(SQL 11G FUNDAMENTAL I) -> 1Z0-052(ADMN I 11G) -> 1Z0-053(ADMN II 11G)
As I am more interesting in programing than administration, I think I should chose 1st path.
And for 1st step 1z0-051, as you mentioned I can do it online also.
Yes I am working with Oracle APEX from last 4 years, if I go for APEX OCE that would be add-on to resume.

There is an Identity Administration and Analytics Certification available. This certification covers Oracle Identity Manager 11g and Oracle Identity Analytics 11g, with more focus on Oracle Identity Analytics.
