Is eCATT a component integrated within SAP Solution Manger?

Is eCATT (extended Computer Aided Test Tool) a component integrated within SAP Solution Manager? or Netweaver Solution Manager?
OR
Is eCATT automatically gets installed if we install Solution Manager?
Further, does Solution Manager gets installed if we install SAP/Netweaver components or is it a stand alone component?
Please let me know.
Thanks & Regards.
Sapster.

Dear Fr,
I think you got confused with solman & eCATT ,this is a testing tool and has got no dependency upon solution manager.
this a free testing tool used for testing SAP applications, it is based upon Web Application Server.
Please follow the link,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/1b/e81c3b84e65e7be10000000a11402f/frameset.htm
You can link ECATT and QTP scripts, combination of both.
In addtion you can execute them from solution manager itself.
Whereas solution manager is used for managing your test plans and can organize all type of test cases which can be automatic like ecatt QTP etc or manual.
follow my; blog to learn testing with solutin manager.

  • EWA for Business Objects (XI 3.1) within SAP Solution Manager

    Hello!
We use Business Objects (XI 3.1) and would like to get weekly a EWA report within our SAP Solution Manager.
Our SAP Solution Manger has only ABAP stack and it has the SPS version 25.
We also do not use Wily Introscope/Diagnostics and E2E tools within SAP Solution Manager.
    Question
Is it possible to set up EWA for Business Objects with our requirements (SOLMAN with ABAP stack and without E2E/Diagnostics tools)?

    Hello,
The short answer is no. You can verify this in SAP Note  1507629  - Preparing a BOE system for Service Sessions in Sol. Manager.
    "...1.) Managed System Setup
Perform the Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as
described in the "End-to-End Root Cause Analysis System Landscape Setup
Guide". This guide can be found in the SAP Service Market Place:
    -> http://service.sap.com/diagnostics
-> Navigate to the "Media Library"
-> Open the document "SAP Solution Manager Landscape Setup Guide"
Please ensure that you perform all steps mentioned in the guide which
are relevant for your product and version. Please read also SAP note
1357901, which is also referred to in the above mentioned setup guide."
So this is a requirement. There are also pdf documetns attached to this note  that describe how to setup the EWA in Solution Manager. EGI_SBOP_EWA_part1.pdf and EGI_SBOP_EWA_part2.pdf.
The fact you have no Java stack and have not installed Diagnostics, just means it has not been done. It can be done and then you can do a managed system setup, and the balance of tasks required to prepare the system and Solution manager to generate EWA reports for the BOE system. Its just more work, not a show stopper.

  • Performance issue within SAP Solution Manager

We use SAP Solution Manager 4.0, SPS 13 for System Monitoring of almost 100 systems.
We configured SOLMAN as CEN system and activated the CCMSPING with –push option.
For almost the 2/3 of the systems we configured SAPCCM4X agents.
Our current problem is a performance issue in tcode DSWP. When we try to enter into one of the solutions there (by pressing on it) we get the following warning:
    Determining warning messages from CCMS
It tooks a while and then it is possible to access  the desired solution.
My important question is of course:
How can this issue be solved?
Is there some techniques to analyse and change the problem
How can I check whether the SOLMAN works in a pull or push mode, when the data from the satellite systems will be collected and how can this be changed?
As I know there are two ways of sending/retrieving the data:
    via RFC (pull)
    via CCMS (push)
    Which method is faster?
Is there some changes in CCMSPING possible? (interval for sending/retrieving the data)?
Is there some other settings, e.g. like profle parameters (e.g. rdisp/...) that could be performed to solve the problem?
Thank you very much for any helpful information
    Regards
    Thom

Push is beter for performance. SAP advice.
Maybe activating Central Data Cache on the CEN and SolMan with parameter alert/cache/size_MB can help.

We are evaluating and have narrowed down to 3 vendors- HP, IBM and Compuware - for above.   We have based our choice from Forrester Wave and Gartner.
    My questions are:
    a.  Are all three vendors certified by SAP.  Where can I see this information?  Any information is appreciated for our business case.
    b. With above vendors,  which ones are the best fit to Solution Manager and why?
    c. What are your good and bad experiences?

  • Integration kit for SAP Solutions

    Hi gurus,
i've encountered a problem with BO XI 3.0 Integration for SAP Solutions.
I've installed in a virtual machine BO XI Edge series for NON-SAP solutions evaluation copy, when I try to run web InfoView everything working fine. The infoview path is http://<servername>:6405/InfoViewApp and it take itself the "logon.jsp" file.
Now my goal was connect BO and my BW server. I've downloaded BO Integration kit for SAP solutions 3.1 but installation locked for a WSDL (I have no idea what WSDL is) than i try with 3.0 version.
I've downloaded JCO jar and dll files (sapjco3-ntamd64-3.0.2) and putted them on the right (i think) path.
I've installed Integration kit and installation goes fine.
Now when i try to catch infoview page 404 not found Internet explorer page is show  but CMS is on,intelligent agent too.
It can be a tomcat problem?
    Can anyone help me?
    thanks in advance!

Guys you were good!!!every installation things was right!!
I've the last question about SAP Authentication: when I try to call the SAP auth page i retrieve the follow error:
    HTTP Status 404 - /SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces
    type Status report
    message /SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces
description The requested resource (/SAP/jsp/auth/sapsec_logsys.faces) is not available.
    Apache Tomcat/5.5.20
I think is a Jco jar error,it's right?
In the (awesome) ingo blog there is: "put sapjco.jar file into the path C:\program files\...\tomcat55\shared\lib\, but i have not shared folder, than before installation i putted sapjco.jar into C:\program files\...\tomcat55\server\lib\ folder..was wrong?
    thanks a lot guys!

  • BOE 3.1 SR3 on Solaris SPARC - how to for Int kit for SAP Solutions ?

    Hi,
this is my first BOE installation and I've just installed the BOE SR3 Enterprise Server on Solaris SPARC with SAP WAS 7.0 and Oracle 11.2.0.2 providing the CMS database location and the Java application server for the BOE applications.
The installation went ok and all BOE Server services are running. I've now got to install the XI 3.1 SR3 BOBJ Integration for SAP Solutions kit and have read the installation and administration guide for this.
The pre-requisites state that the SAP RFC & Java Connector needs to be put in place before deploying. Are these not part of the NW 7 WAS 7.0 Java Server anyway ?
If anyone has any pointers to more detailed instructions for doing Integration for SAP solutions kit other than the guide then please let me know.
    Regards,
    Brian.

    Hello Ingo,
many thanks for your reply, although I'm still confused. My Business Objects 3.1 Enterprise Server runs on the same host as a NW 7 WAS and has it's applications deployed and running on the NW 7 WAS Java instance .According to OSS 549268 you should not use the standalone SAP JCO connector if your applications are running on a SAP WAS - it has it's own integrated SAP Java Connector
"SAP JCo is available for two different environments: there is the standalone version and the version integrated in the SAP J2EE Engine. These two JCo variants have a compatible API but are implemented differently, so you may not mix them together within one environment.
SAP JCo 2.1 is the standalone version and can be used in all Java applications not running in an SAP J2EE Engine environment.
So it seems I don't need to use the standalone Java connector ?
    Regards,
    Brian.

  • Integration with SAP - Comparing SAP XI against other EAI Middlewares

I highly appreciate if you could throw some of your expertise and insights to the following:
    1.  What are all the architectural advantages if we use SAP XI instead of using other integration middlewares such as SeeBeyond, WebMethods etc.
    2.  Most of the EAI middlewares (such as SeeBeyond, WebMethods etc.) provide BAPI and ALE Adapters to integrate with SAP anyway.  So, what is the architectural and business value add if we use SAP XI in this scenario?
    3.  Compare the capabilities of SAP XI any other top EAI middleware that you are familiar with.  (Preferably SeeBeyond)
    Thanks,
    -Sorna

    Hi,
I do not want to comment on other middlewared outright. But, I will surely share the value proposition of SAP NetWeaver in general, and XI specifically as an Integration Platform.
SAP NetWeaver offers a set of solutions for Integration at 3 levels
    1. People Integration - Enterprise Portals, Multichannel Access, Mobile Infrastructure
    2. Information Integration - BW, MDM, KM
    3. Process Integration - XI
All these solutions work on the same Technology Platform - SAP WebAS and can talk to each other seamlessly. They are also very well integrated to SAP Solutions, hence if the back-end applications are from SAP, it gives a strong reason for the customer to choose from SAP NetWeaver stack. It will definitely have performance advantes also when talking to SAP solutions.
The second most important point is, all SAP Solutions are shipping, or will ship their Integration Content (what SAP calls Business Content) for all the various products of the SAP NetWeaver Stack, including SAP XI. This reduces the integration effort required at customer site, since the integration content is already available (atleast from one side, even if the other application is Non-SAP).
Hence, although other middlewares offers capabilities to integrate with SAP solutions, NetWeaver will reduce the TCO in this case by providing better integration, Business Content from SAP, and also support for integration content from SAP.
    Warm regards,
    Venki.

  • Integration Kit SAP 3.1 - installation error

    Hello all,
I am in the process of installation  of the BO integration kit for SAP (3.1) on the machine(win 2003 server) having BOE 3.1(Tomcat server) & Crystal reports2008V1. I have followed the steps given by
Ingo Hilgefort and in the middle of installation steps - after the web server input info screen (tomcat), when I enter Next following error is displayed shutting down the process.
"installation ended prematurely because of an error"
    Log file has following error.
    Note: 1: 1708
    MSI (c) (60:BC) : Transforming table Error.
    MSI (c) (60:BC) : Transforming table Error.
MSI (c) (60:BC) : Product: BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions -- Installation operation failed.
And also I tried to install with integration kit for SAP 3.O, following is the error I got.
    "\win32_x86\CrystalExtension.dll failed to register. HRESULT - 2147024769"
When I ignore this error, then I don't see SAP in CMC authentication.
I appreciate if anyone can help me to resolve this issue.
Note: SAP BI7 AND ECC  are on different servers.

    Hi
make sure that you are using the 32bit version of SAP Jco (even if you have a 64bit system).
please make sure your Set the CLASSPATH variable to point to your sapjco.jar. If the error persists please try to install the int.Kit for SAP silently (Follow the steps below, for Windows ONLY):
    1) Extract the installation files for the int.Kit in a separate folder (you need WINRAR for this)
    2) Open a command line prompt and change to the folder you extracted the installation files into.
    3) Start the following command: setup.exe -w installationIntKit.ini
    4) Provide the required input and continue until the installation crashes. Make sure that you select the automatic deployment option.
    5) Make sure that the file installationIntKit.ini is created in the folder you started the command into.
    6) Start the following command: setup.exe -r installationIntKit.ini
    7) The installation runs now in background and check with the Task Manager until the setup.exe is no longer visible.
    8) Verify that the int.Kit is installed by looking the list of the installed programs.

  • BW toolbar add for BOBJ Integration for SAP..silent add

I have searched and searched but cannot find the command-line syntax for adding/enabling the BW toolbar in the BOBJ Integration for SAP installation.  I need to do this to a few remote PC's.  I know how to do this from the GUI..but would like to do it from a command line.  Can someone please help?
    Thank you!!
BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions 12.1.0.890 SP2 Patch 2.9

Due to the patch level you have the easiest way is to first uninstall all BO components and then install them again.
You can use the -w command line parameter of setup.exe in order to record an installation script
eg. setup.exe -w myInstallScript.ini) in which you choose the BW toolbar option
You can use then the recorded script to do the silent installation on the workstation you want
    eg. setup.exe -r myInstallScript.ini.
Do not forget to copy the recorded script.
The -w and -r flags work for the BI XI 3.1 and CR 2008 installers (setup.exe) incl. Service Packs and Fix Packs.
