Is Error Code Monitor, Video Card or something else?

I'm getting the code two short and one long from the monitor power light. The FAQ calls it a backlight error and suggests checking connections. I have done that. I have also reseated the card. Then used sensitive parts cleaner to spray into the slot, the edge of the card and the connection both on the the card and monitor. The monitor grades from dark to lighter top to bottom. I can sometimes solve this by disconnecting the monitor while the computer is running then reconnect. I know that's bad, but it sometimes works. The monitor will look fine as long as the computer runs or does not go to sleep. Either way, when it wakes up or restarts the problem returns. Is this monitor, video card, or do I need a new one?

Hi and thanks for the speedy reply. No chance on coverage. This is an original G5 with the 1.6 processor purchased in 2003. I bought it used about a year ago. I don't mind buying a new monitor if that's what it is. Right now the monitor is working because I just unplugged and replugged it in. That's why I'm thinking video card, but I just don't know enough about Macs.

Upgrade Video Card To Something Else Other Then 8800GTS

I have a 8800GTS in my mac pro right now and when I play games I get some lag from it like bad frame rates and so on. I was wondering can you upgrade the card with a different one I have a 3850 ATI card but it doesn't have a Mac Pro check on it like the 8800 does on the bottom and I have some other 8800GTS cards as well they also don't have the check that applies to the Factory card. They are all from www.newegg.com and I was thinking if you can just put them in the Mac and away things go. I tried and I get a black screen and loud fan speeds. I let it sit for minutes to see if it's looking for drivers or if it takes longer because you are changing the card from Nvidia to ATI.
I'm not sure if its possible to change it.

You need an Apple version card for OS X. They need to have EFI firmware. That would be 8800GT. And Newegg doesn't sell (if they do, it would have to say "Apple" and "Mac Pro."
I have picked up an Apple version on Amazon from J&R.
eVGA cards have worked fine, kindof, flashed, as they have 128k ROM - but 10.5.6 'broke' or made changes, so there are risks.

Dual Monitor video cards for HP Pro 3400

I am looking to add a 2nd monitor to my HP Pro 3400 MT and want to make sure I get a video card that will not have any compatibility issues. I'm not doing any gaming so I don't think I need anything super fancy and I would prefer not to have to upgrade the power supply.
So my questions are:
Is the HP Pro 3400 MT compatible witha PCI Express 3.0 card? 2.1 ?
How much power draw from the video card would require me to upgrade the power supply (my PC is stock, no added peripherals). Is there a way for me to determine how much is being currently (no pun intended) drawn?
Are there any drawbacks to usnig the built-in video card for 1 monitor and a new, single-ouput card for the other (vs a dual-output card) ?
Anything else I need to consider when deciding on a new video card?

Startup error with AGP video cards

I have a WInME machine that gives me errors on windows start-up that ask me
to hit ctrl-enter to clear and states that the client did not remain
resident. These only occur when I have an AGP video card installed. I do
have a PCI video card but would like to use it in a different machine. Has
anyone run across anything like this?

I had tried that to no avail. I had also tried uninstalling the video
drivers earlier using the always reliable add/remove programs and got a
message that they had already been uninstalled. Just for grins, I tried it
again a few minutes ago (since it showed back up in the list of programs)
and it uninstalled for real that time. So I restarted, got no novell client
error msgs, re-installed video drivers, and got no error messages on
re-start! So I guess there was some sort of corruption in the video driver
that was causing this whole mess. Anyway, all's well now..thanks for your

Error Code EF01, Video and Digital Audio Dropping out

To whom it concerns,
A customer of mine is having problems with his Fios DVR. He will be watching TV through his Integra DTR 40.3 receiver, connected via HDMI cable and his picture and audio will just stop. This is always accompanied by a code that displays on the front panel of the DVR which reads EF01. The customer is usually able to restore picture and audio by performing a power cycle on both the AV receiver and the Fios Box.
There have been numerous occasions of this problem occurring. Sometimes it happens quite frequently, (once every 10 min) other times much more infrequently. Also the problems vary in their severety. Sometimes just the digital audio will drop out but the pitcure will remain. Other times the picture and audio will go out and they will damage the HDMi input that the Fios box is connected to, rendering it unusable. We have since repaired the Integra recevier twice. This last repair we haven't had an incident for 3 months, now we are back to losine Audio and Video.
The customer initially had the Fios DVR replaced, but as the incidents kept happening, we tried repairing and replacing the AV receiver. I keep coming back to that error code because I don't know what it means and nobody can explain to me if it has any significance or bearing on the problems we are having.
Does anybody know what the EF01 error code indicates on the Fios DVR? Has anyone had problems similar to the one I am describing, regarding HDMI video/audio loss?

Hey, Jared here.
The EF01 error code means that either the CableCard inside the box isn't getting any signal, or the CableCard isn't sending out any signal. A really efficiant way to see exactly what they problem is, is to take the box to a another location where Fios tv works fine.
There are two possible outcomes:
Either the box doesn't work, and is still displaying the EF01 error code. Than the issue is with that box, and I must be replaced.
The other possibility is that the box works fine. The error code goes away, and the box works perfect. If this is the case, we know it is the coax wires coming from ONT (Optical Network Terminal). And a Service Technician is required to come out and address the issue.

Error Code c00d36c4: Video playback problem on Lum...

I am having a lot of a difficulty playing videos which i have recorded using the phones camera.
i can see the thumbnail for the video in the camera roll.. But they don't appear in the videos.. Under music+videos tile.
if i try to play the video by using the thumbnail..i get an error saying "Sorry, we cant play this file on your phone" followed by error code c00d36c4.
Now, I understand that this problem is due to codec and format issues.. However how is possible for have an unsupported format when the video has been **bleep** with the phones camera!!???
Any advice or solutions?

Same problem. Recording short videos on my 820 and whilst the thumbnail is showing, when I go to playback I get an error but no code. It just says ", we cant play this file on your phone". How can I fix this???

Blu-ray Fatal Error Code 6: Video Bitrate too High?

So I get this error every time I try to encode my Blu-ray disc. I am assuming that the bit rate I used to encode from Premiere was too high. Am I correct? If so, does this mean that I need to re-encode all of my assets at a lower bit rate before bringing them into Encore? Or is it some other issue? I did read all previous posts on this topic and couldn't really find an answer.

I don't fully understand either of your questions, but I am sure I can provide an answer that you will understand so here goes.
My audio files in Encore are actually wav files, but in my the root project folder they are ac3. Is ac3 an audio codec or something? I don't understand this. I guess they are session files, whatever that is... And why does this matter?
And what do you mean that Premiere and Adobe Media Encoder should not allow any peaks. Do you mean bit rate peaks?
And my only worry with making a modest drop in the bit rate is the fact that I have to render out almost 20 files before I can test out my Bluray burn again. This obviously takes some time to do and if it ends up not working it can be quite frustrating.

TS3297 error code 42110, video will not play

video download will not play and the error that pots up is 42110, and cannot get reason for such. Need solution to solve issue.

I´ve tried to back up from iPhoto to DVD. I followed:
Create a CD or DVD by exporting
In iPhoto, select the photos, albums, or video clips you want to burn to a disc.
Choose File > Export.
In the Export Photos window, click File Export, and then select your options.For best results, choose JPEG, Maximum, and Full Size. For more information, see Export a photo.
When you’re ready, click Export, and export the photos to a folder on your computer.
When the export is finished, quit iPhoto.
Click the Finder icon in the Dock, and then insert a CD-RW disc or a blank CD-R or DVD-R disc into your drive.
Drag the folder that contains your exported photos to the disc’s icon.
When the files have been copied, choose File > Burn Disc, and then click Burn.
The disc can´t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E)

When burning a DVD, I also had the error 0x8002006E. I found a SOLUTION that is not discussed in this forum. I tried the three different things that are listed in this forum (delete the finder file, reset PRAM, and try different blank DVDs), but those methods did not work.
I had to repair my internal hard drive. I had to start my computer from my installation disc (version 10.5.4) (I turned on the computer while holding down "C" key with install disc in the drive). Then, you have to go to Disc Utility (at top menu bar) and click on your hard drive then click repair disc. After my computer repaired multiple problems, I restarted my computer from my main hard drive and then I could burn DVDs again. Please let me know if you have questions.

I can't put anything in Trash, error code -36

Everytime I try to move anything into Trash this message appears:
The Finder can’t complete the operation because some data in “xyz” can’t be read or written.
(Error code -36)
I cannot move anything to trash or delete anything, doesn't matter if its a word document, .jpg image or a pdf preview nothing will go. I tried to look up error code -36 but it said something about a Windows server and to check the Console screen for a certain message but theres no record of the error on there.

Mount_webdav: Error Code -8060 occur, if i want to open the share in my finder window

since the update from 10.6 to 10.7.1 i cant use some webdav shares anymore.
Every time when i mount our webdav share and open it afterwards in a Finder window the error
The operation can't be completed:
An unexpected error occurred (error code -8060)
does anyone know something about this or a similar problem?

Last night I upgraded my NAS firmware (Netgear Stora) and now I have exactly the same problem.
The Admin account Finder locks when trying to mount the AFP share. If I force unmount (sudo umount -f ...) then I see the same Finder error message code 8060. Any other account (and any other Mac) mounts the same share OK.
Strangely, manually mounting the share via Terminal works perfectly. So does SMB mounting via the Finder.
I've tried deleting all Finder and AppleShareClient preferences, with no effect.
For some reason the Finder in the admin account can't complete the mount (permissions maybe?).
