Is Farsi language supported in Acrobat XI SDK?

Is Farsi language supported in Acrobat XI SDK? After the help I received from Irosenth determining that Khmer language was not fully, supported I will need to know the same for Farsi.
Thanks,
Mike

As I asked with Khmer, supported in what way?    There is no shaper for Arabic languages, if that if what you are looking for - you must do that yourself when creating the PDF.

  • Persian (farsi) language support for Ipod nano 5G.

    I could find the Arabic language support but no Persian (Farsi) support. I am wondering why Apple still does not support this language.
    Also I wanted to know if there is any way that we could translate the English to Persian and add into our Ipod nano ourselves.

    Apple tells everyone what languages it supports in the tech specs for its products:
    http://www.apple.com/ipodnano/specs.html
    To tell them you want another one, go here:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipodnano.html
    if there is any way that we could translate the English to Persian and add into our Ipod nano ourselves.
    If you are talking about the user interface, the answer is no.

  • Asian Language support in Acrobat 3D 8/TCS

    I've spent hours and days to solve a problem with PDFs containing Japanese text, which refused to be copied/pasted into other applications. Then someone told me, it works on his PC using my PDFs the same that didn't work here. Well, it turned out that he had installed the Asian language packs for *READER*, which I didn't use. And which should *not* be used with Acrobat Pro or 3D, according to well-informed Acrobat gurus.
    In their KB articles, Adobe gives instructions like these: "To make Asian fonts available for downloading to a printer, be sure you have downloaded the fonts to your computer using the Custom or Complete installation option during installation of Acrobat."
    Well, after searching, reading, trying, re-installing etc., I have to say: THERE IS NO CUSTOM INSTALL OPTION in Acrobat 3D/TCS. I have NO option to install Asian language support within a suite that carries "communication" in its name. Technical communication *is* worldwide communication.
    Interesting enough: after installing the Reader language packs, the required functionality was there (copy/pasting of asian characters), but currently I'm not sure if I damaged my system (or reduced its functionality) by installing Reader fonts for Acrobat 3D.
    So, what do I have to do in order to achieve *full* support for Asian characters in Acrobat 3D/TCS? Any idea?

    Olaf,
    before I wrote this posting there has been a whole lot of testing here. The situation in short words: I've created PDFs containing Japanese characters in Illustrator and in InDesign. Here on my PC I've not been able to copy/paste (e.g. to Word) any characters from the Illustrator PDF, that were created using OTF fonts and converted to "Type 1 CID/Identity H" fonts. A similar file created in InDesign worked without problems.
    There have been a lot of strange things happening I was, for example, able to copy the characters in question (Illustrator PDF, OTF fonts) from Acrobat Pro on my Mac and paste them into Word (Windows) running in a Parallels VM. I could NOT do this within Windows from A3D to Word.
    After sending my test PDFs to the German FrameUser mailing list, I got a response from one person (as noted above). And: after installing the Japanese Reader fonts, I suddenly was able to copy the characters within Windows. There must be something that has changed. Copying the characters over to Mac ceased to work in this moment, but has worked before. So the Reader font installation seems to do more than just install fonts although I don't know what it could be.
    You'll get my test files within the next minutes
    Thanks for caring :-)

  • Czech language support in Acrobat OCR

  • Korean Language Support Package required for Reader but not Acrobat?

    One of our departments on campus has created a form that is causing some users to get a message prompting them to download the Korean Language Support Package in order to fill in the form fields.
    When I originally tested this in Acrobat Pro 9 I didn't get any errors.  Another user also reported the issue recently (two this week).  So we tested it again, but this time used both Reader 9 and Reader X -- both programs were generating this message to download the language pack.  The form appears to be completely in English with no Korean characters.  It uses fairly standard fonts and I didn't see any embedding or encoding issues with the fonts.
    Aside from having end users download a Korean Language Support Pack to view a PDF that doesn't seem to contain any Korean, are there any other options out there without recreating the form from scratch?  Here is a list of the fonts used in the PDF.  The only types of encoding are Ansi and Identity-H (which I expanded in the SS above), with the latter fonts being embedded within the PDF.
    Any ideas?  The form is linked below.  Thanks in advance for your replies.
    Here is a link to the PDF

    SOLVED
    While our problems differ, my solution may still be relevant.
    My culprit was a rogue font in an embedded Visio drawing. I identified and located the font using the "List text using non-embedded fonts" Preflight analysis in Acrobat 9.4 Pro. I checked the encoding of each non-embedded font and discovered that Arial Unicode MS used Korean font encoding (specifically, KSCms-UHC-H). See screenshot below. Doubleclicking on one of the font properties highlighted the offending text in the pdf.
    I went to that location in the source file, which happened to be in the first embedded Visio drawing (shown above). I double clicked the drawing, selected all, and selected Arial font. Then I regenerated the pdf and viewed it in Reader X. The Korean language pack error message did not appear and all Visio drawings displayed normally.
    I would recommend using the Acrobat preflight tools to locate text or objects with incorrect font encoding within your PDF or form, then surgically striking (or carpet bombing) the affected location(s) in the source files with embedded/supported fonts.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where is the Simplified Chinese Language Support package for Acrobat?

    Hi, everyone. I am using Adobe Acrobat X Pro in Chinese version of Windows 7. When I try to input in an English PDF, a message showed "An error has occurred that may be fixed by installing the latest version of the Simplified Chinese Language Support package." But I can not find this "package" anywhere? Does anyone has any clue? Thanks in advance.

    Actually the windows is Ultimate version and I installed the English language package to convert it into English version Windows. The symptom was improved a little that I can add and delete characters in PDF but still can not "add or edit text box". In addition, every time I try to click the tool "add or edit text box", a message displays "There was a problem reading this document (14)." What does this mean?

    I'm using Abobe Acrobat 9 standard, when I use typewriting for typing, error message: fixed by installing the latest version of the Korean language support package.  Pls let me know where to download, thanks

  • Plugin created using C++ 6 and Acrobat 6 SDK Not Working in Windows

    I have an Acrobat plugin compiled in Visual C++ 6 using Acrobat 6 SDK. The plugin works flawlessly in Acrobat versions 6 to 9 in Windows XP. While the plugin is able to add a menu iterm and tool bar icon in Windows 7, it causes Acrobat to hang everytime when activated in which event I have to close Acrobat. Since Visual C++ 6 is a 32 bit app, I have to believe that Acrobat 6 SDK is responsible for the behavior described herein in attempting to get the plugin to work in Windows 7. Any comments or suggestions regarding what Visual C++ version to use along with the appropriate Acrobat SDK to get the plugin to work in Windows 7 are appreciated. In doing so, I would also be interested in knowing what backward compatibility one may expect w/regard to previous versions of Acrobat in updating the plugin to work in Windows 7. As for the answer, correct me if I am wrong but I'm thinking Acrobat 9.

    Adobe hasn't supported Acrobat 6, VC6 or the Acrobat 6 SDK for at least 5 years.  You will need to move to the Acrobat 9 SDK if you wish support.
    And Acrobat 9 and its SDK are fine with Windows 7.

  • WxWidgets, Mac and Acrobat 9 SDK

    We are having a lot of problems in the Mac using wxWidgets whch have now started using as a cross platform replacement to ADM.
    On MacOS 10.4 (Tiger):
    Having the sample 'wxPlugin' from the Acrobat 9 SDK samples-folder installed in either Acrobat 9 Pro or Acrobat 9 Reader leads to malfunction in some circumstances.
    The two issues we experienced are:
    1. You cannot open a PDF from the Finder - it just happens nothing (if Acrobat hasn't been running before, it will start though).
    2. You cannot shut down MacOS (or restart it) while Acrobat is running (it doesn't matter if there is any document open) - you have to quit Acrobat manually or "Force Quit".
    This is due to the wxInitialize call during the plug-in initialization (a reduced plug-in which does nothing works, but adding the single call to wxInitialize() (nothing more) would lead to the issues described above). The following information should help to reproduce the problem:
    1. The 'wxPlugin' sample hasn't been touched apart from adjusting the path to the wxWidgets headers and libraries.
    2. For wxWidgets, version 2.8.7 and 2.8.8 has been used, both without success.
    3. Both wxWidgets libraries have been build with the following configuration: ../configure --disable-unicode --disable-shared --disable-monolithic --enable-universal_binary
    There are several other issues with the wxWidgets sample that may or may not be related to the above problems:
    1. The wxWidgets message loop is never called (would be part wxEntry function normally):
    2. This has more effects (but only for modeless dialogs, since modal dialogs have their own event queue while active):
    a) Messages about entering the window aren't processed -> that would result in e.g. the mouse pointer being not changed, not showing up tooltips etc.
    b) Idle events are never called
    c) Windows are never deleted - so basically all (including the window controls) remain as memory leaks
    The last two (b & c) can be solved by registering an AVIdleProc and calling there wxTheApp->ProcessIdle() ,but some messages still aren't properly processed - so modeless dialogs won't work properly.
    This can be easily verified by the Acrobat 9 SDK wxPlugin sample - the mouse cursor doesn't change if you have a document open and you see e.g. the Hand, and you move over the Modeless dialog of the sample. The same is true for tooltips (but they aren't applied in the sample code) - only in certain circumstances, when the window has been active - they will work.
    In order to get those events working, a call to wxTheApp->MacDoOneEvent() in the idle procedure would help, but that would make other parts of Acrobat irresponsible, so that is no solution - but might be a hint.

    Michael Peters

    I have a plug-in for Reader 10 written using wxWidgets 3.0 under Mac OS X 10.7 and I have all problems
    described in OP post. Issue with sockets is added. (when releasing socket object it has deleted twice sometimes)
    In this thread Adobe says that a new wxWidges sample will be coming shortly.
    The wxPlugin from SDK 11 samples looks like this:
    ACCB1 ASBool ACCB2 PluginInit(void)
    #ifndef MAC_PLATFORM
    /* The following code is not supported on Mac. */
              wxInitialize();
              mainFrame = new AcrobatFrame;
              wxTheApp->SetTopWindow(mainFrame);
              return MyPluginSetmenu();
    #else
    return true;
    #endif
    Is that true that wxWidgets officialy not supported in Acrobat SDK?
    Is there some approved and tested technique for proper using of wxWidgets with Acrobat SDK for Mac?

  • Multiple language support

    A few questions:
    1) Does the report viewer control have multiple language support? I could not find a way to resource the status bar, toolbar tooltips, or subsequent dialogs.
    2) Is there a way to support multiple languages in the reports? I'm thinking of inspecting all ReportObjects in the ReportDefinition, but I'm wondering if there's a less invasive way of handling this.
    3) Is there a way to determine the last page number of a report? I understand that not all pages are loaded initially and I'm ok with that limitation, but I can find no way to determine if the user's reached the last page other than looking at the enabled state of the "Last Page" button in the toolbar.
    Any assistance is appreciated.

    1. Yes we support multiple languages. Go here http://devlibrary.businessobjects.com/BusinessObjectsXIR2SP2/en/devsuite.htm then check out Crystal Reports .NET SDK > Tutorials and Sample Code > Other Tutorials > Configuring Multilingual Client Support.
    2. This depends on what you mean by supporting multiple languages? Do you mean you want the entire report, including data to be in another language? If so then this is up to you. We don't translate the data. We only translate the tooltips, toolbar, and regionalize the data formats. You can either switch to a different data table for the correct language, create a formula to translate for you, or create a custom UFL and subscribe to a translation service to translate the data for you.
    3. Yes. Check out note 1216240 here https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-notes.

  • Second-party software problem? Firefox language support?

    Please reply if you can help: CJ Hinke <[email protected]>
    Installed Leopard and only reinstalled the latest versions of second-party software. Did away with MS Office and Adobe CS3. First primary problem logged: suddenly Firefox can't read Thai language (all Thai characters replaced with question marks)--has anyone else had language support disappear?
    SMARTreporter gives a green light to the hardware.
    Applications both native Apple and second party keep crashing on launch. Appended below is a partial copy of the Bug Report. All appl crashes seem to hinge on the following problem:
    Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGBUS)
    Exception Codes: KERNPROTECTIONFAILURE at 0x0000000000000007
    Crashed Thread: 0
    Often I can keep relaunching until the appl 'takes'. I'm getting royally tired of this and of deleting my caches over & over (which doesn't work nearly every time). TextEdit, Safari, Quicktime, Terminal, System Preferences, Disk Utility have crashed (and one or two others), not every time but sometimes; so have non-Apple appls: Wired Client, VLC. Even 'Reset' Safari to no apparent improvement. Don't use Dashboard & all my widgets still seem to be there.
    On the Apple side, I have installed iLife and iWork '08 which I use as alternatives to MS.
    Non-Apple, I use:
    Acrobat 8
    StuffIt 12
    Toast 8.0.1
    VLC
    EPSON Scan (haven't tried it yet)
    SMARTreporter 2.3.2
    MenuMeters (menubar item to display network connection, IP, etc.)
    Growl
    GrowlDict
    GrowlTunes
    HardwareGrowler
    Set to open on Start-up:
    DragThing 5.6.4 (layered dock alternative I really like)
    Time Palette 5.7.7 (selected cities time display I really like)
    Meteorologist (displays weather for several cities)
    Desktility (saves & restores icon positions on Desktop for my many disks)
    Internet stuff I use regularly:
    Transmission (BT P2P client)
    Speed Download (d/l manager)
    Wired Client (connects to a remote server)
    Fetch (FTP client, haven't tried it yet)
    Unison (Usenet, haven't tried it yet)
    All are latest versions with only a few exceptions and all were mostly trouble-free in Tiger. This seems like a pretty light list.
    In Tiger, occasionally my browser wouldn't connect to a common site, say, Google or The New York Times. Continuing to do this in Leopard. And now it's harder to get things running just by deleting the caches (over & over). Couldn't even send numerous bug reports to Apple!
    (A little background about my 'net connection might be in order here. In my neighbourhood, I can't buy more than 512kbps--more than four kms from the switch, I'm told. Often my actual speed is more like 56k dial-up. Could the slow speeds be part of the problem?)
    Really wish I hadn't 'upgraded'! I'm beginning to think Apple is using us as beta testers for a system that wasn't a stable release yet. I'm seriously considering reinstalling Tiger--don't see any other solution. Or perhaps Leopard just wasn't intended for PPCs. I'm having as much difficulty as with the anteDeluvian OS 9!
    My intuition as a non-geek but Mac user since 1984 that conflicts with Safari are at the root of these problems. I have now uninstalled almost all second-party software and will reinstall one-by-one as I need to use it to find out if there's one culprit among them.

    Hi,
    You need to install the language from SMLT transaction and then you need to set language parameter in RZ10 in instance profile and then give a system restart. By this way, you can install the language.
    Thanks

  • Multi Language support PDF Forms?

    I am trying to understand if I create form fields in Acrobat Pro (which we do often) will international users with differnet character set keyboards.(ie: asia, pac rim) be able to fill in the forms. When I create form fields now (English, Pro 9.2) I can choose the default font and size and other type attributes but no indication of what would be available if the chosen font or only dblbyte fonts are present on the clients computer.
    I have been searching web and beyond(aplication manuals!) and have found nothing to help me understand mulitlinqual support for Acrobat Form Fields.
    Any new knowledge appreciated
    -regards

    you have two solutions either to:
    1. make the forms again with new labels with the required language (but this way i don't prefer)
    2. make 2 tables in your database one contains the languages and the other contains all the labels with unique id
    and these two tables have relationship
    make dialog canvas at the start of your application to let the user choose the language required.
    according to his chosen call or load the labels infront of every item in the canvas.
