Is 'feed per rev' axis to spindle interpolation possible with the 7344?

Just evaluating the NI-7344 motion controller for a machine tool application. Whilst axis to axis interpolation functions are well described, it is unclear if it would be possible to synchronize an axis with a continuously rotating spindle. My application would have a rotary spindle drive (under closed loop control) continuously running at around 3000rpm, with TTL encoder feedback. There would then be a single linear axis programmed to move at say, 0.2mm per rev of this spindle, to create a fine 'spiral' on the part. A change of spindle speed would not affect the pich of the spiral. Searches brought up helical interpolation but I think this would not work with a continuously running rotary axis. Any advice welcome. Thanks, Chris.

Could I clarify, would you want the spindle drive driven by the card as well or is this externally driven? What is your other motor e.g. servo or stepper? How do you plan to drive this?
I forsee two scenarios on here:
1) If they are both from the same card then effectively what you want is a 2 axis linear move e.g. axis 1 = k*axis 2 and we should be able to do this with the 7344.
2) If the spindle is driven elsewhere and we are driving a stepper motor we could use a counter card to generate x number of pulses to control the stepper per pulses seen from the encoder. This would be a less intelligent motion system but I believe should work.
3) If the spindle is driven elsewhere and we are driving a servo then this will be trickier. Depending on the drive you have we would have to look at what signals we need to produce for this.

Unable to speak with the HP34401A per my soft, despite it is possible with MAX

I can speak with my HM34401A with MAX (Explorateur Measurement & Automation Explorer , but I can't access it with my soft (error BFFF00A5 in hexadecimal, despite it is the same adress in both case)

Try some simple communication to the instrument, such as query the response to "*IDN?". (It should give a response string identifying the instrument.)
This should be a very simple vi - but it does check the communication path. Can you get this to work?
If you can, the address and GPIB card are good. There may be an error in your other program.
If you can't get the simple vi to work, the address or GPIB card may have problems.
One other quick thing to check, check the front panel menu on the 34401. Make sure it's set to HPIB and not RS232.

The answers would be the following:
1200 cells per custom section (NEW COUNT), and up to 30 custom sections per spec.
Assuming all will be populated, and this would apply to all final material specs in the system which could be ~25% of all material specs.
The cells will be numeric, free text, drop downs, and some calculated numeric.
Are we reaching the limits for UI performance?

Problem with the Z axis...blurred objects...what'd I miss?

Howdy,
I've got some vector objects in Flash that start out real small--like 20-30 pixels square. When I change their position on the Z axis to 'zoom in' on them, the larger they get, the blurrier they get.
When I just tween the x/y size, and not move the z axis they look fine.
For example draw a 20x20 square on the stage.
Convert it to a movie clip so that I can 3D it.
Scale it up to 300 pixels.
Looks fine.
Adjust the Z axis by 1.
Blllluuuurrrrrrrrr.
Did I miss a setting somewhere or is this just a limitation that needs to be worked around?

Problem with the number format in the graph axis with Report Generation Toolkit.

I'm trying to use the Report Generation Toolkit to plot some graphs in Excel.
My first problem is that I don't know how to configure the number format in the Excel Set Graph Font.vi so that my numbers are correctly displayed in the graph's axis. The only given option is general (0,0) but this is not enough for me, my numbers can get really small so I need engineering notation or fraccional format.
Second: I also insert a table with the graph source data, but the numbers are not correctly displayed either: for example:
0,75 is shown as:
0,750000
but 1,25 is shown as:
1!250!000
My guess is I am making to much or wrong string to number conversions or Excel is getting it wrong but I can't find my way...
Can someone help me with this?

MSN's latest update is crashing Firefox many times per day. When I try to send the crash report to Firefox, it says it has trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting that can help?

Firefox is crashing every time I have my MSN email account up. (Since I use it for business, that's many times per day.) It seems to coincide with hotmail's latest update where the email is checked and downloaded to the inbox automatically. Then when it asks me if I want to send the crash report to Firefox, I select yes and it tells me it had trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I can change? I can't seem to keep my email account up for more than 10 minutes.
p.s if you're reading this Microsoft, it's still not bad enough to make me to go back to Internet Explorer!

The limit of five applies only to computers, not to iOS devices, if that's what you're concerned with. But yes, you can have content from up to five different iTunes Store accounts on any given computer or iOS device.

Axis Title does not appear in the transated language after translation

i have some problem with the translation.
I have an application in german and in french , it works propertly but the X,Y Axis Title and the region name does not appears translated in the chart although they appears in the xliff files and i translated it.
can you see please the snapshot of the region in the link below.The X,Y Axis are in german and the tab names and items name are in french.
I'm sure the X,Y Axis appears in the XLIFF file and i translated them.

We need to create a query for blocked Invoices in Quality summarized per materialcode together with the total quantity in Quality Inspection blocked stock.
As starting point I've used the table RBKP_BLOCKED and linked it with RSEG from which I'm checking the quality block.
From which table should I retrieve the qty in QI blocked stock?

since ur report is depending on LIV's on block due to quality inspection is pending, better take the quantity from MKPF passing document number (GR number) and year of the document.
Taking stock from MARD table will result is total mis match since this table holds stock position of plant and storage lcoation.

Can I align the orientation of axis labels in a graph generated with the report generation toolkit (Word)?

I was wondering how to align the axis labels, i.e. 90 degree or such when creating a graph with the report generation toolkit in word.
I can do it after the document is created through Format axis title -> alignment but is there a way out of LabVIEW?
I'd especially like to rotate the y-axis label by 90 degrees.

I think he means he can modify it by hand after the report has been generated... But what I want to do is generate the word graph out of labview already with the rotated axis label...
After I posted this I found out that we can do this with a macro and use it from labview, but unfortunately I don't know VB, or VBA...

Line feeds in a BPEL assign activity as viewed in the BPM worklist

We are catching errors in our BPEL 1.1 process (created in SOA Suite 11.1.1.6) and sending them to the BPM worklist via a human workflow. We followed the basic documentation found here:

Before we invoke the call to human task, we assign some strings to parts of the message. For example:

When we pull up our error in the BPM worklist and view the detail page, we do not see "Detailed message" and "More details go here." separated by 2 line feeds. Instead, we see the actual text "\n\n" printed out.
I have tried a variety of other line feeds, but nothing seems to work (i.e. to break up the text on the screen):
<br> or <br/> - The tags show up in the detailed view. When I view the HTML source, I see it escaped them with &amplt; and &ampgt;
&lt;br&gt; or &lt;br/&gt; - This exact text shows up on the screen (i.e. we see &amplt;, etc.)
&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; or &amp;lt;br/&amp;gt; - Same result (i.e. we see &amplt;, etc.)
&#10; - The line break is visible in the HTML source, but that's just basic HTML whitespace which doesn't translate into a viewable line break
&amp#xA; - Same thing with &#10; Just HTML whitespace
<pre> ... 2 carriage returns here </pre> - I tried to trick it into forcing the HTML whitespace into actual line breaks, but I had the same issue with the <br> where the open/close brackets are always escaped or printed...but never interpreted.
So...the big question is...what is the proper syntax to add line feeds that an HTML browser can interpret (while viewing the BPM worklist app) when I'm building that string in a BPEL <assign><copy><from> expression?
