Is firefox 11.0 compatible with the gmail notifier?

i want gmail to be my default mail handler in windows xp pro, but it won't allow me do so. one suggested solution is to begin with g-mail notifier, and then proceed to several other steps. is firefox 11.0 compatible with gmail notifier? any other suggestions appreciated.

This is a little confusing.
Google has a program named Gmail Notifier that works at the Windows OS level. Since it isn't installed as a Firefox add-on, version compatibility shouldn't be an issue.

There is an add-on named Gmail Notifier that was last updated for Firefox 3.6. That will not work in Firefox 11, but I don't think this one is what you're looking for.
Does that help?

  • I have Webroot Security and Firefox is not compatible with the malicious URLs part of the program? How do I protect myself?

When I downloaded Firefox and was checking my extensions, I was advised that Firefox is not compatible with the malware prevention part of my Webroot security package. I use it successfully with Windows and just renewed for another year. What do you suggest I do to protect myself? I am not a computer expert so if you could reply in plain language it would be appreciated. Also, we stream videos a lot and I noticed that DivX is also not compatible. What do I do about that? Thank you.

I was having this issue for Firefox version 7 and had to spend one hour trying to find a solution. Here is the solution. Go to webroot.com, tab to support and than 2011 product support. Type in Firefox Toolbar it will than say are you unable to use firefox toolbar hit yes. It will say under 1. click hear to download patch. Save the file and after the download run it. After installed close firefox and you should have the webroot toolbar running again.
ff7fix.exe is the file you need.

  • The newest version of Firefox is not compatible with the website I need to use for my online classes. Is it possible to download an older version so that I do not have to switch to Explorer? Thank you.

I am unable to upload documents.

Currently the only supported Firefox versions are 7.0.1 and 3.6.23
Other versions including 6.0.2 have security vulnerabilities and are not recommended.
You can install the portable Firefox 3.6.x version to access websites that do not work with Firefox 7.

  • Firefox 5.0.1 would cause my Free Download Manager to be disabled because it is not compatibl with the new version. What ones are compatible and free?

I have received a pop-up advisory from Firefox several times, saying that my Free Download Manager is not compatible with the recommended 5.0.1 upgrade and wold have to be disabled until the compatibility problem was corrected.
(I think that I did download it, and that was when I got the first warning. I visited my download m manager shortly afterward, and all my download history had disappeared. I think that I then reversed the upgrade.)
Since then, my emails will load only in Basic HTML, which I have several problems with. I don't know if that is a Google or a Firefox problem.
So, my initial problem is that I need a reliable and easy to use free downloader before I can upgrade and get my Standard HTML back.
What free Download Managers are compatible with Firefox 5.0.1?
While we're at it, is 5.0.1 Beta? And what is Beta?

    Solution: (Free Download Manager)
Go here: http://codecpack.co/download/Free_Download_Manager.html and download Free Download Manager 3.8.1067 Beta 3, it works perfectly with Firefox 5.0.1
Solution: (to Google mail aka Gmail)
I have had this problem for a while since I did a previous Firefox update, where I had to force Gmail to load in Basic HTML else it's next to impossible to use it. The solution is this: simply update your Java, and Gmail will work without a problem using Standard HTML. To update your Java go here: http://www.java.com/en/ and select "Free Java Download".
And beta normally, universally, means "the not quite there yet version of the version we're aiming for" NORMALLY used during production and testing of a type of software.

  • I have Norton 360 and it's not compatible with the upgrade to Firefox 4? How do I get Norton activated now for the internet?

I received a notice that I should upgrade to the Firefox 4. After I did the upgrade I then got a notice that Norton wasn't compatible with the the upgrade. How do I go about getting my Norton Security to work with this upgrade. So right now I have nothing in which is protecting my computer while surfing. Nothing against your product BUT I want what I already had/have to be the one protecting my computer. So what needs to be done so I can have my existing computer security to work with this upgrade. Otherwise I'll go back to the previous version which did work with Norton.

Symantec need to update their Firefox add-ons so that they are compatible with Firefox 4. They have indicated that for Norton 360 they plan to release an update to Norton 360 to support Firefox 4 in early May - http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20100720113635EN&ln=en_US
I do not know about the time scale for updates for other Norton products. Pending the update by Symantec, if you want to use the Norton add-ons you will need to downgrade to Firefox 3.6.
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data.
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.

  • What is the most recent version of Firefox which is compatible with a PowerMac G5 (PPC) running OS X 10.5.8?

Running Firefox 3.6.3 on my aging machine, I got a dialog telling me that I should upgrade. I did. When the update was complete, and the application restarted, I was running Firefox 3.6.24, and shown a page saying:
“Thanks for downloading Firefox, but this version is out of date. Unfortunately your computer's operating system isn't compatible with the most current Firefox learn more, but you are encouraged to download the most recent version that is compatible instead.”
Clicking the link to the “most recent version” took me to a page which said:
“Firefox 3.6.x will be maintained with security and stability updates for a short amount of time. All users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of Firefox.”
There was no other suggested version linked to that page, and the latest version of Firefox is, of course, NOT compatible with my machine.
Mozilla is confusing me here. Why did Firefox drop back within v. 3.6.x from the version I was already running? Why does the site suggest upgrading to an apparently non-existent “latest compatible version” without providing a link to its suggestion?

  • How can I download an older version of Firefox that got deleted but was compatible with the PC Mac Version 10.4.11

I have the 1.5 Ghz PowerPC G4 Mac OS X version 10.4.11 and I inadvertently deleted the old Firefox browser when I download Firefox 4. The original download did not recognize the limitations of the system's inability to support Firefox 4.

Firefox 4 requires at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

  • Is Firefox 5 compatible with the new upgrade to OS 10.6.8? I'm having problems

Since I upgraded to Firefox 5.0, and upgraded to 10.6.8 (Mac) my computer is not responding as it previously did. I keep getting "box messages" when I scroll and when I move to the tool bar in Firefox, it switches without my direction.
I contacted Apple, no problems with the upgrade. Is Firefox compatible with the new upgrade??? Even my printer didn't respond.

  • When are you going to make GOOGLE TOOLBAR compatible with the latest version of firefox, i will not update to version 8 until its compatible

    Question
When are you going to make GOOGLE TOOLBAR compatible with the latest version of firefox, i will not update to version 8 until its compatible

It's not going to happen. Google announced withdrawal of their Google Toolbar.
Using Google Toolbar features without toolbars - MozillaZine Knowledge Base
    :http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Google_Toolbar_features_without_toolbars
The Google Toolbar will not be updated for Firefox 5 or later Firefox versions. ([http://googletoolbarhelp.blogspot.com/2011/07/update-on-google-toolbar-for-firefox.html reference]) Google finally decided that their [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions problematic extension] is beyond repair for the little benefit added for Firefox users. Google as with other browsers is eliminating or making toolbars less accessible.
Consider the features that you are using and see if you can match up features from the list created by Google and by Firefox users.

  • Is there a Firefox compatible with the Kindle HDX?

I have a Kindle HDX 7" and have encountered problems using the browser installed by the manufacturer, also need a flash player because Adobe doesn't make one compatible with the Kindle HD or HDX.

Hello, you will need to change some settings on your Kindle to install Firefox:
    1. Go to the Settings screen on the Kindle Fire
    2. Select the “Device” option.
    3. Select “On” for the “Allow Installation of Applications” option.
You can then download the .apk install file for Firefox directly from https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
For devices without access to the Play Store, generally the Firefox Aurora version is recommended because it auto-updates...
I'm not sure about the availability of the Flash player, since Adobe has announced years ago that it was going to stop further development of Flash on mobile platforms: http://blogs.adobe.com/conversations/2011/11/flash-focus.html
