Is Firefox 3.0.6 available on arch?

Is there an upgrade for firefox 3.0.6? I know arch uses grandparadiso. Where can I get it?

I got this last night, so far it's working good.
Can someone be kind enough to explain the diff between this package, the "official" one in extra, the firefox-optimized, and firefox-spookyet packages? (i know there's about a dozen other "firefox" packages out there, but these are the main ones i've built over the last few months, and so far i'd say spookyet and pgo were the ones that seemed snappier and more stable).
I've seen the mozconfig's on all of these, and they have a lot of minor (and a couple of major) differences, but both the AUR and PKGBUILDs provide very little useful info on what they actually do different.

After intallation was completed, the automatic startup just placed a small box on the screen "Import wiz". This just sat there with no activity. After I closed this box, none of the Firefox start buttons would open the program -- just the blue rotating icon for about 2 seconds then nothing.

I turned off firefox update but it is getting turned back on and telling me firefox 5.0 is available. I don't want firefox 5.0 until all my plugins work and I don't want to be bothered. I will followup in a few months.

The solution tabs on my email page(i.e.-"delete","check mail","compose",etc.)have disappeared on Firefox. I keep getting a message that a new version of Firefox (32.x) is available for installation, but it won't install. I have 31.0 .

A window pops up that says a new version of Firefox is available (version 32.x). I click on install, and nothing happens. The wheel keeps spinning so I close the window. When I click on About Firefox and then click on Updates available at https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/, a web page opens that says: Congrats! You're using the latest version of Firefox.
If I'm using the latest version, why do I get a window that says a newer version is available and why won't it download?

It is strange however that your updater isn't installing the update for you. Are you using a user account with the right privileges?

Firefox eventually consumes all available hard drive space while running

I have 1-2 GB available on my hard drive. When I leave Firefox running for a while (a few hours to a few days, not sure what triggers this behavior), my available hard drive space goes down and down until it gets down to 0. If I quit Firefox, the hard drive space frees up.
I always have multiple windows and tabs open. I'd rather not quit Firefox ever, but I have to to get my HD space back. Sometimes it doesn't seem to happen for a long time, and then it starts happening. I've been rebooting about weekly recently and it hasn't helped any.

I would also have assumed it was just variations in VM usage & application or system memory usage - except that it may show, say, 300 MB available AFTER rebooting, and then, without my launching any applications or using the computer, just immediately rebooting a second time, show 2 GB available.... so somehow the space available isn't be allocated properly it seems to me...
I was also afraid that I was running with too little available space - but have been doing so for months now without these problems. I've got a lot of large video files on the drive, no other drive available to transfer them to, no $$ right now for purchases... and didn't want to delete the videos. I need to transfer more to CD/DVD's but have done all the 'easy' ones that are less than 700 MB already, and have to either waste DVD's or take the time to convert them to versions that will allow the DVD to play on TV also - something I haven't tried yet and gather takes a bit of time. So I've been running along with the drive pretty full.
I would really like to know how to find any 'junk files' like temp files, any duplicates, etc that can be safely deleted, but also not sure how to do that on a mac? So there's this issue, and also the first paragraph, e.g., that it seems to me that somehow the space available allocation isn't being properly shown - is there some way I can check that, find out what is using up the space?

I would like to have a password required before using Firefox as there is available with Windows Internet Explorer and Chrome.

OK - to answer my own question, Apple recommend 8.2.1, but you can install 9.1.1 and it will run on a G3. Very slowly. Looks like this is the only option. Get it here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1036. You need OSX 10.4.11 or later though....

[SOLVED] locale-gen, nano, sed not available in arch-chroot

Both the Installation Guide and the Beginner's version say to use arch-chroot before configuring. However, when I try to do this, I no longer have access to the commands I need to do the configuration (e.g. sh: nano: command not found). I can use nano from outside of the chroot, but AFAIK locale-gen needs to be run inside, and it relies on sed which is also not present.
I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up before-- have I done something wrong?
EDIT: mkinitcpio is also not available while in arch-chroot

Hmmm no I did not do this, nor did I see any mention of it on the install guide. It just says to arch-chroot then (after editing a few files) run locale-gen and mkinitcpio, neither of which are accessible within the chroot'd shell.

In order to be available to all users Firefox should be installed by somebody with enough privileges to install it in C:/Program Files. If you install Firefox as a limited user, it will be available only for this one limited user.
To solve the problem, uninstall Firefox as this limited user and then install Firefox as an Administrator. Then it will be possible to have Firefox installed for all users.

You message says the Norton toolbar version you have is incompatible with Firefox 30.0, not the other way.
About the only good thing with Norton is that they have had a Live update patch for their toolbar extension ready within a day of a new major Firefox release ever since Fx 5.0
Unlike with most extensions, the extensions that tie in with say a antivirus on Windows needs to be updated for each new major Firefox version .exe.

I have a mac os 10.4.11 and the new version of firefox (4) which is 'not compatable with my operating system' what can I do? I have tried to redownload firefox 3 to no avail.

I was running firefox 3. ? with little difficulty. the new 4.0 upgrade came out and I hit the button to update only to find that I was unable to use it. I had to search my archives, to find firefox 2 which allowed me to find a browser that I could use: Opera. It works well but I can't use netflix watch instantly etc... HOw can this be remedied.
