Is Flash CS6 64-Bit?
Hi,
I'm currently using Flash CS5.5 but I'm having a lot of operations that won't complete due to running out of memory. I was thinking of upgrading to Flash CS6 for better memory usage (I hate the subscription model of CC so am putting that off as long as possible). Is there a 64-Bit version of Flash CS6?
thanks,
Kevin
Flash CS6 is a 32-bit application and which will work on 32-bit and 64-bit Os of Windows and Mac.
Flash Pro CC is a 64 bit application and works only on 64-bit OS.

Performance Issues with Photoshop CS6 64-Bit
Hello -
Issue at hand: over the course of the last few weeks, I have noticed significant issues with performance since the last update to PS CS6 via the Adobe Application Manager, ranging from unexpected shut downs to bringing my workstation to a crawl (literally, my cursor seems to crawl across my displays). I'm curious as to if anyone else is experiencing these issues, or if there is a solution I have not yet tried. Here is a list of actions that result in these performance issues - there are likely more that I have either not experienced due to my frustration, or have not documented as occuring multiple times:
Opening files - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Pasting from clipboard - results in hanging process, takes 3-10 seconds to resolve
Saving files - takes 3-10 seconds to open the dialog, another 3-10 seconds to return to normal window (saving a compressed PNG)
Eyedropper tool - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempting to navigate any menu - will either crash Photoshop to desktop, or take 5-15 seconds to load
Attempts I've taken to resolve this matter, which have failed:
Uninstalled all fonts that I have added since the last update (this was a pain in the ***, thank you Windows explorer for being glitchy)
Uninstall application and reinstall application
Use 32-bit edition
Changing process priority to Above Normal
Confirm process affinity to all available CPU cores
Change configuration of Photoshop performance options

This issue is costing me time I could be working every day, and I'm about ready to begin searching for alternatives and cancel my membership if I can't get this resolved.Adobe Photoshop Version: 13.1.2 (13.1.2 20130105.r.224 2013/01/05:23:00:00) x64

I need help getting my Intuos5 to work with Flash CS6
Can someone give me some help with this? I can't find a single thing on Google that helps me.
I installed Adobe Flash CS6 recently and I have been using my Intuos5 Large for a long time now with Photoshop CS6. The thing is, with Photoshop, it took forever to get working properly. It turned out that I needed to use the 64-bit version because my 64-bit system and tablet drivers won't work with 32-bit Photoshop.
Concerning Flash, it's the same problems as Photoshop. It refuses to recognize my tablets functions such as pressure and tilt sensitivity. It also has an annoying lag or lack of response if I do small, quick strokes. I would switch Flash to 64-bit mode, but there isn't one. I can't find the little stroke-like icon in Flash to turn on sensitivity either. I'm really confused. I've tried it with Flash CS5.5 and it's the same thing.
That's my issue, and I have tried restarting the software and rebooting many times as well. There doesn't seem to be much for options. This all leads to it probably being a 64-bit and 32-bit compatability issue
I'm running Windows 7 with more than enough power to maintain Flash CS6. It is possible that I may need to update my tablet driver since I did for Photoshop CS6, but it was a pain in the *** getting Photoshop to work until I used 64-bit mode. I may need additional files to mod the software.
I would really appreciate the help so I can begin to learn animation. It's my passion. Thanks, in advance.
Here are my relevant specs:

Flash CS6 not responding every few seconds.
I've been working on a few animation projects for the past few days, and Flash CS6 always tends to show the spinning blue wheel and white screen for like 10 seconds. This is very irritating. I would probably be done with the project by now if it weren't for this bug.
Specs:
Windows 7 64-bit
Nvidia GeForce GT 540m
8gb ram
Intel Core i7
Thanks in advance.I'm also having this problem. Every now and then (probably with a 5-10 min interval) Flash CS6 freezes for 10 or more seconds. The larger the Flash-file, the longer it freezes. I've turned off the auto-recovery mode, I'm not working on a file that's in a network folder (like Dropbox, since I heard somebody had trouble with this), and I've quit all programs. Still freezes. I've also got all the latest updates.
It's very annoying, and I think I would've been able to work a lot more if this weren't happening all the time. Perhaps I'll try to import all of the content into a new file?
Any know solutions?
I'm on a late 2009 iMac:
Mac OSX 10.8.3
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB

Hi torben123,
This issue has been resolved in Flash CC, please take a look at it and let us know if you still face any issues.
Thanks!
Mohan
Mohanaraj CS, I'm still using Flash Pro CS6 on my MacBook Pro and the shortcuts don't all work correctly because Flash (German version with German language keyboard setting in OSX) seems to use an US keyboard setting only for the shortcuts internally (if I type into fields, I've got my German layout, but if I want to set up a shortcut like cmd + + for zoom in oder cmd + - for zoom out, it shows cmd + ] and cmd + / instead).
And the "fix" to an obvious bug (as you said by yourself) now is TO BUY CC??
Come on, Adobe Staff, is that how you treat your customers?
A little -known- bug but you have to get (and buy) the cloud thing, if you want it fixed... did you get the bug into the code THEREFORE in the last update?
I really love the Adobe software but this is the baddest joke since a looong time, Mohanaraj CS. -
Difficulty with Licensing Android apps developed with Flash CS6
Hi, I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one. I have developed an Android app using Flash CS6 and it is ready to be published on Google Play. However, as it is a paid app, it is strongly advised to license it to protect it.
There is a bit of documentation on how to do this with Flash Builder, but I need to be able to do it with Flash. The following link provides some info, though it is far too confusing for me to follow.
http://www.rybram.com/index.php/blog/61-air-30-android-licensing-tutorial-project
The Android developer page has info about it here, but it keeps refering to the Manifest file.
http://developer.android.com/google/play/licensing/adding-licensing.html
I've seen a few other threads on here touching on this subject, but I have not had any luck with them. There's lots of references to Air Native Extensions that handle licensing but I don't understand them.
I'm quite surprised that there is no support from Adobe on such a fundamental stage of the app production. Basically, anyone developing Android apps using the otherwise fantastic Flash CS6 will have trouble protecting their apps with licenses once published, meaning that anyone can just grab the .apk file and redistribute it anywhere.I think what I need is the idiot's guide
As long as you don`t make this attudude a habit
It might be best that you hire someone to look into the matter, pushing out sth. on the market with no real plan
I'm heading down many a blind alley with this one
could get you into serious trouble with customers that buy your product, experiencing trouble with some kind of DRM you are blindfoldedly implementing and having no clue how to fix it.
Just saying.
You wouldn`t surely feel comfortably buying from a developer who is admitting to have no clue what he/she is doing, would you? -
Flash CS6 crashes when compiling iOS app
Hi there,
I'm stumped. I built an app in Flash CS6. The app has 70 swfs in its asset folder. When I test on the desktop, all is good. Unfortunately, Flash crashes when I try to publish via Ad hoc deployment with AIR 3.2 (also 3.4). The weird thing I noticed was the app publishes fine if I only have 45 swfs in the folder. As soon as I go to 46 swfs...crash. I tested to see if it mattered which 46, but the results were the same...crash. None of the swfs have code – just images and some movieclips. I even tried to increase my disk space...still crashed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If it will help, here is my crash report:

Flash seems to work best when all art has been created within the program. If you've converted it to vector via the Trace Bitmap or Illustrator's Live Trace it doesn't like that either. It also tends to bog down with high resolution bitmaps, especially with many layers (which greatly add to the file size) so you might try to flatten some of the art to make it more managable. In general, maybe see if you can reduce whatever file sizes you can in your project before you import them. Where are the Flash CS6 features for animators?
It looks to me that Flash CS6 is quite a letdown to me. Almost none of what I wanted went through.
No 64-bit support (Seriously? Yeah, even 32-bit programs run better in 64-bit OS*, but native 64-bit support is still desirable), no Photoshop application frame (Why, Adobe? Why Photoshop and Illustrator and no one else?), and I don't see any new drawing features featured in the website. The only thing I (remotely) liked would be the maximum canvas sixe finally going up to 8192 pixels.
Just saying that this release is quite a letdown to me. It's basically CS5.5 with extra export options that I'm never going to need.
I'll see how much 3D support this version will have. Maybe that part will change my opinion.
* The idea of using a 32-bit OS in a modern multimedia workstation is a joke. You can't use more than about 3.5 GB of physical RAM across the entire OS. If you're using multiple 32-bit applications, 64-bit OS is more desirable. And I'm talking about Windows here; I don't know how Mac memory management works.I would like to see all these features:
•Ability to sync MovieClips to the timeline (through some checkbox option)
•Authortime Pixel Bender filters (imported to Library and available in Filters Panel)
•ToonBoom's brush tool
•Independent X, Y, Z keyframes (behaving like every other property curve)
•Ability to parent one MovieClip to another (instance-based, author-time, like parenting in After Effects)
•3D depth sorting
•Abilty to toggle “Layer” blending independent of blending mode or filter
•Moar blend modes! (Including AND and XOR)
•Motion Tweens and Classic Tweens on the same layer
•Polystar Tool options inside Properties Panel
•Polystar Primitive (with Corner Radius, Inner Radius, etc.)
•Ability to change Graphic symbols’ Play/Loop/Frame settings mid-tween (maybe even keyframed in Motion Editor)
•Mutiple eases per property per tween span
•Easier quadratic curves in Motion Editor
•Ability to exceed 100% in the “Advanced” Color Effect (left column)
•Custom easing for Shape Tweens
•Ability to toggle between constraining proportions and constraining values themselves in the Transform Panel’s “scale” property (the latter was the behavior pre-CS4)
•Make selecting Tween Spans the same as selecting other frames by default (frame-based)
•Ability to import WMA and WMV files
•Access of Shape properties in ActionScript (an inverse to the Drawing API)
•Muting of individual sounds and/or layers with sound
•“Angle” setting for blur (to make it bi-directional)
•For loops in Pixel Bender
•Special blurs for different properties (rotation, skew, scale, etc.) to simulate motion blur
•Illustrator's symbolism tools (shifter, scruncher, sizer, spinner, stainer, and screener)
•Diffusion curves (Orzan et. al. 2008)
•MIDI support (including MIDI events in ActionScript)
•Embedded video (works like bitmap sequence)
•Distort transformation for symbols/vector-y 3D
•Weighted strokes -

Flash CS6 crashes when publishing fla`s with big libraries
Hi guys,
I am currently working with Flash CS6 and i noted that the bigger the libraries in my fla`s get the more likely flash will crash when i try to publish these fla`s. It already has gotten to a point where all the crashes, and then trying again to publish, has taken up a considerable amount of my time. But the thing is the publishing does not alway result in a crash, its more like 80% of the time it crashes. Also what i do once a file has crashed, i open it again and then just open and close some folders in the library, then safe and then try to publish again. After doing this 4 - 5 times publishing suddenly works again, but also just 4 - 5 times until it crashes again and i have to do it all over again.
So again, this only seems to happen with fla`s with big libraries. Is ther something i can do about this? It's been my experience that Flash doesn't much like a few things in particular. One is large vector files with a lot of points; in other words stuff brought in from Illustrator or trace bitmapped from within the program so you might try reducing the amount of points in your art if you'r working with imported art. Flash CS6 Quitting on closing all windows??
Why does Flash CS6 (and muse) quit as soon as you close all windows in that program - unlike other CS software which remain open when not in use? I'm on a Macbook pro (running 10.6.8). I have loads of memory left. The trial version also did this (but I assumed it was just because it was a trial). Now downlaoded through Cloud membership. Its really time wasting (and a bit irritating) - can someone help?
Other programs run fine. People on here have mentioned closing tabs - not the window - but I don't want the window constantly open.
Any help much appreciatedHi lozin!
Here are utilities to manipulate the volume of the Startup Chime.
Psst
Startup Chime Stopper
StartupSound.prefPane 1.0.4
But, it should also be mentioned, that several troubleshooting procedures, instruct one to press certain key combinations, before or after the Startup Chime has sounded.
Just a couple are, resetting the PRAM or Firmware.
The Startup Chime is an alert, that on startup, some internal tests have been performed, and the Mac has passed them.
If you haven't silenced it, and you start up your Mac, and don't hear it, it may be a signal that something may be amiss.

My Flash CS6 won't launch anymore. I've used it before but am not able to anymore.
When I start Flash CS6 the loading screen pops up and disappears after a few seconds without starting the program.
Solutions I've tried without results;
- Opening a Flash file directly to start Flash
- Reinstall Flash
Im running Flash on Windows 7 64-bit.
If anyone can help me to get it running it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Flash CS6: Objects always go to back
I'm having an annoying problem in Abode Flash CS6. When I draw something with the brush tool, whether it's an object or a drawing, it automatically goes to the back of the stage, and no matter what layer it's on, or where on the stage I draw it, I can't bring it to the front with Ctrl+Shift+Up Arrow, unless I convert it to a symbol, but since I'm a frame by frame animator, I don't want to have to do this every time I want to solve this problem.
Okay, so now the problem seems to have gone away, but it does come back every so often. Is it just a setting I inadvertently turn on? Can someone explain to me what's going on?
Thanks in advance.
-BenWindows 7 64-Bit.
I held Ctrl+Alt+Shift and it deleted the preferences, but I could reset them from the Menu.
Maybe there are some parts in my animation where there are lots of shapes on one layer, but I work on multiple layers, and the problem seems to occur randomly, even when there's only around 5 shapes on the screen, and they're usually not all on the same layer. The .fla file is pretty large though - about 100mb.
Okay, it seems I can avoid this problem by clicking on the object I want the shape to be in front of when I draw it. I'll keep this in mind in case this is the solution. -
