Is Font Folio available at Adobe Education Store?

Hi.
I would like to know if Font Folio is offered via Adobe Education Store and if so are there any limitations of use after my education has completed and I wish to continue using the Font Folio?  I think they're up to version 11 right now.
Sincerely,
-markerline

Hi Markerline,
Thanks for your inquiry. Unfortunately, Font Folio 11 is not available in Adobe's Education Store. However, we have a product for the education market called Font Folio Education Essentials which is available on Adobe's Education Store. This product has 524 fonts and you can purchase a one-seat license for $149. To learn more about the product, please visit https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/index.cfm?&store=OLS-EDU#category=/Applications/Fon tFolioEduEssentials&store=OLS-EDU&loc=en_us&view=ols_prod

  • Why is Helvetica font not available on Adobe Acrobat XI?

My friend has same program and has Helvetica-I am not able to edit the PDF because she has Helvetica and my version (Academic) does not have it.

Helvetica is a standard MAC font. The equivalent on a PC is Arial. I am not sure if you can change the font (compatibility issue), but if you try that you might be able to edit.

  • How can I install my type 1 Adobe Font Folio (circa 2002) onto my Windows 7 PC?

I recently had to move to a PC running windows 7, I'm unable to install any fonts. I'm not using any font management software because I only need to use a handful of typefaces. The individual folders on the disk (old - 2002ish) don't have extensions. They're separated into 2 files; i.e. "AGarBol"  0KB and "._AGarBol" 56KB the PC doesn't recognize either of them. I've tried adding a .pfb / .pfm extension on both, it starts to install the .pfm file but errors out. HELP!

There is no exact 1:1 conversion of the MacOS versions to the Windows Type 1 equivalent fonts. Different font metric information is used in the different formats. Conversion to TrueType would be lossy. You also have the problem that the MacOS Type 1 fonts were stored in the file's “resource fork” for which there is no equivalent on Windows (or any other OS) - you would end up with file of zero bytes in length if you did a simple copy.
Unfortunately, you didn't back up the full CD to an ISO image. Otherwise, you could restore or even mount the image and get the Windows versions of the fonts.
If you purchased the Font Folio directly from Adobe, perhaps you could get some assistance in either replacing the CD or getting a low cost upgrade to a newer version of Font Folio which provides fully cross platform compatible OpenType CFF fonts. You didn't indicate which software you are planning to use under Windows, but the newest Microsoft applications and some other simply don't support Type 1 fonts anymore. But they do support OpenType CFF fonts found on the newer versions of Font Folio.
I recommend contacting Adobe Customer Support (not Technical Support) by phone to see whether they can assist you.

  • Education Store / Proof of Academic IDIf

If you are purchasing from the Adobe Education Store, do NOT fax your Proof of Academic Identification Form to 415-626-2975.  Although the number is on their website, 2 customer service reps told me that they no longer have a fax machine.  They want you to go through a customer service rep over the phone.  They must be paid by commission.  My rep tried to overcharge me by $50.00.  I am still paying more than if I was able to purchase right off the website.  It is poor business.

The reps want you to scan the documents and email them directly to them.  This way they get a commission.  Their fax machine didn't unplug itself!  Otherwise you would be able to place your order without ever contacting a rep.

  • Single Style of Font not Available in Any Adobe Programs

I have been using Nofret for all of my business correspondence for years. All of a sudden within the last couple of weeks, one style, the Light Italic, refuses to show up in any of my Adobe programs. It is available in my Microsoft and Apple programs
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font in FontExplorer Pro, rebooting the applications...no go.
    I am using CS2 on a G4 PowerPC.
Any clues as to why this single style would disappear when all of the other styles of that font are available? Can I get it back?

Ok For some reason or another 2 days ago a font by the name of QuickSand was
not appearing in my font choices through the program illustrator. So
I uninstalled the font through the font manager and then why I tried to
uninstall the font through my system folders (Windows 7)  I receive a dialog
that the font was in use. That made me believe that somehow the system was
stuck on retrieving the front through illustrator (which was the last
program I used)  or through the font manager or somehow the font
became corrupt. Hence, since you have already tried uninstalling the font
through the font manger and that did not work delete the front from you
system folder, but before you  do I hope you have a back up of that font it
not make one first or download the font again from the net. Since you are
using a Mac and I do as well there could be three locations in which you
have chose to store your fonts at /Library/Fonts:
    There's also /System/Library/Fonts.
Fonts are divided up into different folders so that Mac OS X can keep its
own collection of fonts (/System/Library/Fonts), you can install additional
fonts for all users (/Library/Fonts), and any user can have personal fonts
    as well (/Users/username/Library/Fonts).
So long story short uninstall & delete the font through your font manager
and all other locations and then reinstall and of course perform a shut
down. That's what worked for me, Hope that helps

  • How can i download the font folio education essentials?

My company provided me with a license serial number for the Font Folio Education Essnetials but I don't have the product. My company has an Adobe Software Assurance subscription for several products but they can't seem to provide me guidance on getting the product and they told me they don't have media. • Which fonts are in the Adobe 'Font Folio Select' and can be embedded in software and apps for distri

    Hi,
I need to select a few fonts for our client to choose from that can be legally embedded into their software for distribution.
    After reading this article:
    http://blogs.adobe.com/jlockman/2011/06/06/fonts-and-where-can-i-use-them/
it sounds like there is an Adobe 'Font Folio Select' that contains fonts we can use but I can't find any information about where to get hold of it.
I have spent hours hunting for fonts we can legally use and read lots of EULAs and still have no idea what fonts are available to developers!
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

Thanks for reaching out to the Adobe Type Team.
While the James Lockman blog you referred to is correct that our product, Font Folio Select, contains only fonts that we control and for which we can offer the broadest rights, it is mistaken in its description of how it is offered.  Font Folio Select is actually a collection of fonts which we offer for server usage - for customers who need fonts for automated printing services, or for web based services which offer a font selection.  I'm very sorry for the misinformation.
Font licensing for applications is something for which we can provide you a direct quote.  If you would like to email me directly at the address listed below, I can get you in touch with a sales associate who can help you.  Additionally, if you provide me with a list of fonts you are interested in licensing, if there are fonts which are not ours, I can also provide you with foundry contact information so you can reach out to them directly.

Complete OpenType Solution for Any Medium Now Available
    Business Editors/Technology Writers
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 5, 2007--Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced Adobe(R) Font Folio(R) 11 software, the industry's most comprehensive type solution for print, the Web, digital video and electronic documents. With more than 2,300 fonts from the Adobe Type Library in OpenType(R) format Font Folio 11 provides enhanced linguistic support, advanced typographic features, and true cross-platform compatibility, providing access to thousands of font options for designers, printers and advertisers in search of original and classic typefaces.
Natively supported across Mac OS X, Microsoft(R) Windows Vista(R), and Windows XP and based on the recent revision and update of the Adobe Type Library, Font Folio 11 includes 176 new fonts from world-renowned foundries and cutting-edge designers. The package also includes award-winning Adobe Originals typefaces -- one-of-a-kind designs and classic revivals created by expert type designers at Adobe.
"With Font Folio 11, we have taken our world-class standard library of OpenType fonts and added exciting new typefaces, including Arno Pro and Garamond Premier Pro," said Don Walker, senior director, Print and Classic Publishing Solutions at Adobe. "We've also further refined our implementation of OpenType, continuing our 25-year tradition of making the world's highest-quality digital fonts."
    Design with Superior Typefaces
Adobe fonts offer reliable quality whether output to inkjet printers, laser printers, imagesetters, or platesetters. Advertisers can enhance marketing materials by creating animated GIFs and other typographically rich elements for Web pages or by adding high-impact title effects to digital video and multimedia projects.
Font Folio 11 offers special Opticals packages that provide four or more separate designs for each font, each optimized for a different range of point sizes, from tiny text for footnotes to large type for headlines. Many of the OpenType fonts in Adobe Font Folio 11 contain an expanded glyph set and advanced typographic features, providing designers with the ability to enhance their compositions with typographic extras such as swashes, small caps, and old-style figures.
    Create with OpenType Flexibility
The OpenType format displays and prints fonts seamlessly on Macs and PCs and can be used alongside existing font formats in all documents. The OpenType features of Adobe InDesign(R) CS3 also take advantage of extended features of many of the fonts in Font Folio 11. In addition, printers can easily publish multilingual documents with Font Folio 11 Unicode support, including Central and Eastern European languages, as well as Japanese, Greek, and Cyrillic.

  • Adobe Font Folio - no single user version?

As my business has grown, I had decided it was time to purchase a full Adobe
font library. I just looked at Adobe.com and see that their Adobe Font Folio
only comes in 5,10 or 20 user versions. As I am a one-person office, any of
those is overkill (and over priced). Is there truly no single user version
available? I would even consider an older version than the present (11) if
it is OT (I am unfamiliar with when Adobe switched over to all OT in font
    folio).
    Any ideas?

Your comment about Adobe going out of their way to hide the licensing agreement is blatantly untrue and inflammatory. Unlike many other software companies, Adobe makes it EULAs (End User License Agreements)
    freely and
readily available for end-user download and/or inspection
at any time via its web site. At the bottom of the home page
    is a link to
Product license agreements bringing you to
. On that page you will find every Adobe product listed including all the
Type products, each with a pointer to web pages with the respective EULAs.
In terms of the number of users permitted to use a particular license and restrictions (such as not sharing one license amongst a group of five independent designers, for example), this is spelled out specifically fairly early in the EULA for Type products.
Adobe hides no aspects of its EULAs and does not claim rights to change those EULAs after you agree to them.

XP Pro Windowsw/Fonts has a font.  It is listed as available in MS Word.  It is not listed as available in Adobe Illustrator CS6.  How do I fix this?  Thanks.

BobbyH5280.  Very helpful answer!  I am XP for the next week on CS6.  I did find 3 items that helped.  The fonts are in AI, but are listed on the bottom of the list.  Also in Edit/Preferences/Type, checking "Show Font Names in English" makes the font list easier to read (doesn't appear to change the sort order though), and (with your suggestion) checking "Sow Asian Options" might do something positive.  Thanks to all of you who sent in tips.

  • Using Font Folio in InDesign to export in PDF to app store

Our customer is creating applications using In Design.    These applications are exported into PDF format for viewing on mobile devices.    Is there any additional licensing needed from Adobe in this scenario?
Also, in the future (not now) if the customer would like to look into perhaps fonts to be embedded in a app the customer is creating, what licensing would be needed?
    Thanks in advance!

For export of PDF from InDesign (or saving PDF from Illustrator or Photoshop), no additional license is required for embedding fonts sourced from Adobe (including all the fonts in the Font Folio and any bundled with Adobe applications).
This is not true for use in applications where text is being generated on-the-fly and/or can be entered by the user. Others will comment on those licensing requirements.
