Is Grid Control to ever be certified on OEL 6?

The title said it all really.
I would like a response from Oracle - I even opened an SR on this and they instructed me to put the question here.

you mean I only login to the OMS server ? and delete it there? How about the setup at the client target?
what will happened to the programs there? I mean to say login to Grid console :

And then delete the targets from there. You can un-register all targets from Grid through console.
Once you have un-registered , then you can stop and uninstall agent software from target server .
The targets will remain on the server , they will be only removed from Grid console i.e. they will not be monitored.
can I still run emctl agent start?Yes , you can .. thats why I asked you to stop agent and remove the software as the server will no longer be required.

Is grid control 12c certified from Oracle?

From oracle reading, Grid Control 11g will be upgraded to Cloud Control 12c. But is Cloud Control 12c Oracle certified?
On metalink, certification tab, I can find Grid control 11g certification, but cannot find 12c certification, there are misc messages on that Enterprise Manager group.
Can someone shed some lights? I will really appreciate it.

For 12c forget Grid Control and use the term Cloud Control. How do you know Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS is Cloud Control? Good question... it just is.
If you enter Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS, Release:12.1.0.2.0, Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux
And follow the link:Certification Details for Notes and Support information you will see "Enterprise Manager Base Platform - OMS 12.1.0.2.0 is certified on Linux x86-64 Oracle Linux 6"

Is 10.2.0.x Grid Control Management Agent Certified on 64-bit OEL5?

Certify on MetaLink does not yet list this as a supported configuration and agent deploy leaves me with "Application Error" during the prerequisite check so, it would appear that the answer is no.
Any estimate when it will be available?

Installing Grid Control 11gR1 - certified component combinations

I'm reading through the various requirements and certifications and am a bit confused. I am working to install EM Grid Control 11.1.0.1.0 (can't use 12c as I need to monitor a PeopleTools version not yet certified with 12c). I also should say that I am looking to run all of this on Windows-based machines.
As I read through the various certifications for Grid Control 11, I find that EM itself needs to be on a Windows 32 bit machine but it seems that its corresponding infrastructure apps (Weblogic and Oracle DB Repository) require x64.
So it would seem I could run the backend pieces (web and db) on a Windows 2008 x64 box and just put Grid Control on a Windows 2008 32 bit box? Is that correct?
My goal is to monitor FMS v9.0 on PeopleTools 8.52 and HCM v9.1 on PeopleTools 8.50. Backend databases for both apps are MSSQL and all layers are running on Windows 2008 x64 boxes.

Grid Control on Windows 64bit

Hi all,
I very new on Grid Control because actual I only have one database to administrate so the Enterprise Manger is very fine.
But in the future this will be expanded to 4 or 5 databases on different machines so I think the Grid Control will "help" me... Or I'm wrong?
Now the thing is, that my company is using Windows 2003 R2 64bit as OS and the Databases will be 10.2.0.4 64bit.
So now I'm on the Oracle Grid Control page and see, that Grid Control is not available for Windows in 64bit.
So I think now, that I have to have an additional Windows 32bit Server for running Grid Control and the Agent’s as 64bit for Windows for the Databases.
Or does someone have a different idea??

I have checked it on MetaLink and as you can see on the screenshot Windows x64 is not certified.
So I think I have to run an additional Windows 2003 32bit.

Installing Grid Control on uncertified CentOS system

I'm trying to install Grid Control 10g on a CentOS machine. I realize that centos is not supported, but isn't there a way to get around the dependency checks?
I already tried the hack of adding "redhat-5" to the [Certified Versions] section of the oraparam.ini file (as outlined here: Re: Oracle 10g won't isntall on Enterprise Lunix OS ) and that gets me past the initial check, but eventually the install fails with the following:

Did you ever get Oracle Grid Control installed on your CentOS machine? I am trying to install using the -ignoreSysPrereqs flag, but run into issues during the OMS and AGENT configurations.

Oracle 9i Database -- Performance window in Grid Control not data available

I have Grid Control 10.2.0.4 on Red Hat and i monitoring some Oracle 9i Instances. When i go to any of these instances to the Performance section, at begininig , ever, not data available in all the graphics.
When i select manual refresh the graphic begin to build information. But if i close the explorer and reopen , all graphics not have any information.
Is the situation normal for all Oracle 9i databases?
The explanation is that Oracle 9i not have AWR ?

You have too few RAM on your machine, even you could successfully create an instance, it's going to slow as hell.
When you run DBCA to create database, instead of actually creating the database you could choose to dump the SQL scripts and files used for database creation to a directory. This way will give you a chance to modify pfile and reduce the SGA parameter. I believe the default SGA of instance created by DBCA is already beyond your RAM limit.

Has anyone got a stable Grid Control operation going?

Has anyone managed to get their Grid Control system running smoothly that hardly ever needs a restart?
If so please state your versions and operating systems involved and how stable it is.
My team has been trying to get GC 10.2.0.4 (with a 10.2.0.3 repository database) on AIX 5L stable over a year now. It wasnt even stable with GC 10.2.0.3. Its never been stable. OMS crashes every weekend and sometimes during the week.
I have GC + Agent + Repository database all on one AIX 5L LPAR with 4GB RAM and 2 cpus and around 250 targets.
I have to cron a script that I wrote to restart the agent and OMS every night but it dies at the weekends anyway and Monday mornings are GC restart time.
The Agents on the target hosts are either 10.2.0.4 or 10.2.0.5. The Agents are usually fine apart from the annoying COLL_DISABLED bug which is really annoying and the patch 6780904 or Agent 10.2.0.5 didnt get rid of.
I'm thinking about installing OMS 10.2.0.5 on a separate box either AIX 5L or Windows 2003 Server then migrating the Agents over to this new OMS gradually. Oracle Support have been pretty unhelpful in the past and that is why I'm posting here, hoping that some kind soul will give me some good advice.

maybe try using same version for the agent...
installing 10.2.0.4 agent is not a big issue as upgrade 10.2.0.5

Solution:
1. Upgrade OMS to 10.2.0.5 so that the table 'mgmt_ha_dg_target_summary' gets created.

Monitoring a 9.2.0.3 database instance in Grid Control 11gR1

Hi,
we configured EM Grid Control 11gR1 for monitoring some database instances. The monitoring works fine for the versions 9.2.0.1, 10.2.0.4 and 11gR2 , but we cannot configure it for version 9.2.0.3 and version 9.2.0.6.
The main page of 9.2.0.3 and 9.2.0.6 instances reports "Metric Collection Error" and every configuration (with Statspack or without, enable metrics or disable them) gives the same message.
I know that EM 11R1 is certified only for 9.2.0.8 but it seems strange that it works for version 9.2.0.1 (even if most features are disabled) and it don't works for the others 9.2 versions.
Someone has the same issue? Any suggestion ?

Tns listener with 10g grid control

i have a primary database on site A and a standby database on site B. yesterday the relationship between the 2 was alright with logs being shipped and applied. now my standby is down(probably due to a power failure) and each time i try to start it up i get the following:
Error: ORA-12505: TNS:listener does not currently know of SID given in connect descriptor
This is oracle database 10g rel2 and grid control 10g rel2 sitting on windows xp. I have checked all the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora and do not seem to find anything amiss.
what i need to know is:
1 - are there any issues relating to installing rel2 on win xp?
2 - when enterprise manager looks at the listener, is it the listener on the server with the primary or standby database?
3 - has anybody ever had this issue, if so, what was the resolution?

1 There are no more issues compared to other platforms
2 It looks at the listener on the host you specify in tnsnames.ora
3 Look: it is quite simple: too many people post here about common errors they can't seem to resolve themselves, because they don't use already available resources. If you would have simply searched this forum for ora-12505 you would already have read the solution.
Typically, there is no need to ask around whether someone already ran into this. You are not unique, you are not the only one with this problem, and there are FAQs.
ORA-12505 simply means in your tnsnames.ora you are using a SID which doesn't occur in listener.ora
And you would have known this if you would have simply looked up the error in the online documentation. But alas: most people around here never use the documentation, though the Forums Etiquette post (also no one reads) recommends otherwise.

Grid control 11g falling over on oms on OMS Configuration step

I've attempted to install grid control 11g on Solaris 10 (SPARC 64 bit), everything is fine until the installer gets to the OMS Configuration step, this bombs out with:-

The JVM being used is the 32 bit one that comes with WebLogic server 10.3.2 for Solaris 32 bit, as there is no 64 bit version available. The 64 bit run time comes in SUNWj6rtx which is not present, this can be obtained with version 1.6_21 of the JDK, however by doing this, the installation is no longer that of a pure 1.6_18 JDK.

I've seen a few posts with similar errors. I've also tried using WebLogic 10.3.2 as some of the posts have suggested, yet I'm getting the same errors.
I know during the GC install it states SLES11 is not "certified". Could this be the reason?
Should I try GC10g, or use RHEL to get this product to work?
