may you tell me if my head start release is compatible?

Yes, you should be able to use NCo 2.0 with ECC 6.0. However, I would suggest to always use the latest version if possible.
Please see few of the difference between 2.0 and 2.0.1 I posted today in other thread on this forum only.
And regarding your question about SAP support to NCo, well, I guess it will be minimum in future because as per their roadmap they do not seems to be coming out with another version in future compatible with VS2005 etc. Instead their new product is ESS (Enterprise Server Explorer) and I guess thats what one should look towards in furture

Network Header Start Date is not accepted by the system

Hi,
When I try to create a Network and put the start date I get an error message-
Date 01.01.2011 is later than the validity period of the factory calendar
Message no. CO032
Procedure
Enter a date which lies within the validity period of the factory calendar.
And this does not allow me to cfreate the network.
But the same date is accepted by the system for WBS element and activities.So I doubt it has anything to do with the factory calendar.

Hi,
The validity end-period has been maintained as 2011 for the calandar.
One difference I noticed is that for activity and WBS element the calendar maintained is 01.While for network header we do not have any explicit factory calendar concept but I think the system derives the Factory Calendar from the assigned Plant.But even in the Plant the Factory Calendar maintained has the validity end-period as 2011.
In the network header's Basic Start field when I hit F4,then all the 2011 dates show in Italics-like the non-working SAT and SUN days.

Upgrade Head Start to JHead Start

One of the application which I'm supporting currently using Headstart 6.5.4 and Oracle 9i Database. I'm about to upgrade Oracle database to 11g r2. Any idea how to upgrade Headstart 6.5.4 to Jheadstart?
Is there any other way to use Headstart 6.5.4 with Oracle 11g r2?

Kam,
Headstart and JHeadstart are totally unrelated technologies.
JHeadstart is based on Oracle ADF, Headstart is based on Designer/Forms.
There is no upgrade path.
JHeadstart does include a Forms2ADF generator that can help when you want to move your forms application tom ADF. But it is not a magic bullet, and there are many aspects to take into account when moving from forms to adf. Don't underestimate this effort and learning curve.

XML Publisher pdf output need each page wise start and end number

Hi ,
I have xml publisher out put in PDF. Now i need on each page header and detail part.
In header for each page it should repeat and should be print the min and maximam number of the columns.
I mean in the header start and end number of the column value for that particular page.
I did many ways but there is no luck.
Can you please suggest me how to do.

Reading fixed length flatfile & splitting it into header and lineitem data

I am reading a fixed length flat file from application server into an Internal table.
But problem is, data in flat file is in the below format with fixed start and end positions.
1 - 78 - control header
1 - 581 - Invoice header data
1 - 411 - Invoice Line item data
1 - 45 -   trailer record
There will be one control header and one trailer record per file and number of invoice headers and its line items can vary.
There is unique identifiers to identify as below.
Control header - starts with 'CHR'
Invoice Header starts with - '000'
Invoice Lineitem stats with - '001'
trailer record - starts with 'TRL'
So its like
CHR.......control data..(79)000.....header data...(660)001....lineitem1...(1481)001...lineitem2....multiples of 411 and 581 and ends with... TRL...trailer record..

I am first reading the data set and store in internal table with a field of 255char.
by looping on above ITAB i have to split it into Header records and line item records.
Did anyone face this kind of scenario before. If yes appreciate if you can throw some ideas on logic to split this data.
Any help in splitting up the data is highly appreciated.

Not understanding something about margins and header

I'm trying to rap my head around how pages does headers.
I think of a header as a place were stuff goes so that it occurs at the top of each page. I would expect it to be positioned at the bottom of the top margin. For instance, with a top margin of .5 in and a header of 1. in, I would expect my header stuff to start at .5 in and my non header stuff to start at 1.5 in.
This is what I observed. Her are a couple of clarifications to start:
–All measures are vertical measures
–Origin represents the offset were an object placed at zero in the body of the document appears.
Top Margin, set to .5 in. Origin at .5 in as expected.
-Add a 1 in header. origin moves to 1 in. I would expect the origin to move to 1.5 in, .5 in top margin + 1 in for the header.
-Add some 24 pt text to the header and the origin moves down even further, by at least a 1/3 in (24/72). Since 1/3 in is clearly less than one in, i would not expect the origin to change at all since the text would easily fit within 1 in.
This is what i am seeing. Without a header, the origin is the height of the top margin. The header appears to ignore the top margin and makes its start at the header height and grows downward from there. This seems wrong.
Can someone steer me straight?

I'm in the work of making user manual with different autonumber paragraph headings.(eg.1.xyz,2.abc,......).I have applied a running head header and has to apply a footer with page number in the format paragraph heading autonumber. pagenumber.ie - 1.1,1.2,........and when second paragraph heading starts it should be 2.1,2.2,.......i tried inserting variables like <chapnum>,<section num> but its not giving the desired o/p.How i can resolve this problem?

If your goal is to restart the page numbering inside a single file, you are out of luck.
Restarting page numbering with the beginning of a new section seems only useful if the heading of that section start at a new page; therefore you could just split the document for every new section and then control page numbering as you like.
If I have misunderstood your requirement, please share more detail.

Contract start and end date in BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATEFROMDATA

I am using BAPI_CONTRACT_CREATEFROMDATA to create a contract from within a custom ABAP program. However I cannot figure out how to get the contract start and end dates into the contract header. I know that you can enter them into the ONTRACT_DATA_IN table parameter but these dates only appear on the line items and not the header.
Does anyone know which parameters on the function map to the contract header start and end dates.

Hi,
there are also fields QT_VALID_F and QT_VALID_T for quotation or inquiry. So it looks like for different contract types you need to use different fields. This BAPI calls FM SD_SALESDOCUMENT_CREATE which has subroutine ms_move_header_in which maps from BAPI fields to internal fields. Here is a small part of this routine.
MOVE order_header_in-qt_valid_f       TO e_vbakkom-angdt.
MOVE order_header_in-qt_valid_t       TO e_vbakkom-bnddt.
MOVE order_header_in-ct_valid_f       TO e_vbakkom-guebg.
MOVE order_header_in-ct_valid_t       TO e_vbakkom-gueen.
When I check technical fields for the screen fields "Valid from" and "Valid to" in VA43 I get names GUEBG and GUEEN. So it still looks like you should use CT_VALID_F and CT_VALID_T.
I forgot to mention you can still debug BAPI to figure out where the problem is.

Dynamic scrolling heading muse

How would i create a dynamic scrolling heading similar to that off www.cnet.com where the header starts with a full sized logo but changes to a simple block format and stays locked at the top. I was considering using two different nag bars, the scrolling one under the main one but completely transparent and have them both set to scroll opacity so that the main one would disappear as you scroll and the smaller one would appear to replace it but I'm not too sure how to use that feature or even if it would work. I know it likely involves jQuery but I'm new to coding and web development so if anyone has an answer it would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

I want to autostart the weblogic server everytime after the server
is rebooted. Since the weblogic server is installed and run as user
"peter". How can I do it in the solaris??

make a copy of startWebLogic.sh in init.d.
make a link of startWebLogic.sh as S99WebLogic in rc3.d
make a link of startWebLogic.sh as K99WebLogic in rc0.d
Are there any problems in the above actions??
Does the initialization script run by root?? I think so.
So is there any problems if the startWebLogic.sh is own by
other user (not root) for the above actions??

This is really more of a Solaris administration question than a WebLogic
question. I will give you a head start, but I really recommend that if
you're going to develop or deploy on a Solaris system that you consider
hiring a Solaris administrator or taking admin classes and certifications
on your own if you're gonna be the admin. Solaris can be powerful, but you
have enough rope to hang yourself and your corporation in 8 easy
characters, "rm -Rf /".
Solaris uses what's called SysVInit (Linux does, BSD does not). The init
scripts are based on the system's runlevel (a number 0-7). Usually 6 is
reserved for reboot, 0 for shutdown, 1 for single-user and 2-5 for various
run states. One of my systems, for example, defaults to level 3. You can
check this in /etc/inittab. Look for initdefault and the number next to
it. Depending on the runlevel, init (the Unix initialization program) runs
an rc script. For 3 this is rc3. This can be found at /etc/rc3. It will
run various checks and variable settings then run the scripts found in
/etc/rc3.d (d for directory, get it?). There is a README (or should be)
that describes how the scripts are run, should be made, etc. In Linux,
these scripts are soft links to another group of scripts. In Solaris,
that's not always the case.
Anyway, to shorten this up, you're gonna want a weblogic start script
(S99Weblogic) for rc3.d and a kill script (K99Weblogic) for the rc0.d
directory. Check the file names. Sblahblah means start, Kblahblah means
kill. Do a man on "init" and read the README in rc3.d.

My head goes spinning??

I'm slowly learning flash anamation. It seems everytime I think I'm making a bit of progress I hit a wall. My latest issue came when I tried to animate a full body. Everything seemed ok until I classic tweened a bit more of the time line. What happend with the head really caught me by suprise. I make a head turn and then the head starts to spin in the air. I started over and still get the same problem. You can see it fifteen seconds in. Also some how my projects hand seemed to stop working right and i'm not sure what I did or how to get it back on track. There seems to be some part of classic tweens and shape that I keep running into issues with. SO any advice would really help.
