Mail can not quit every time when i try to turn off the computer

It appears a week ago i guess after i upgrade the system.
when i try to turn off the computer, it always says, Mail can not quit.
so i have to force it exit everytime before i shut down the computer!
and it is pretty slow for Mail to quit, i only have 3 accounts there with one i never use.
i never met this problem before.
looking forward to get an idea here.

The sound on my macbook pro does not work if I plug headphones in I can still hear but it will not project volume out loud and when I try to turn up the volume it is just greyed out what do I do ?

The sound on my macbook pro will not project anything if I plug in headphones I can hear but when I take them out and try and turn up the volue the speaker is grey and the bars under it are white with a no volume sign ( circle with a line through it) how do I fix this ?

Hopefully one of these steps should solve the problem.

    Highlight Internal Speakers
    Make sure that Mute is not enabled.

    If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone

My Palm TX resets when I try to turn on the WiFi radio

Any time that I try to turn on the WiFi radio on my Palm TX, it always turns off, then comes on like the reset button was pushed. I have tried doing hard resets, factory resets, even finding the backup folder on the computer and renaming it, but nothing is working. I do not know if there is something else I can do to allow me to use the WiFi feature without it always resetting. Any help will be appreciated.

I have both i hoto and apeture on sidebar. When I try to open apeture the dot appears it bounces but won't open. Only if I transfer a photo from i-photo or my card reader? Any suggestions.

It's possible you may need to replace the shortcut to Aperture that is on your Dock. I would suggest first closing both applications. Then open Finder, and in the Applications folder, double click on the Aperture application. If the Aperture launches, then you can delete the shortcut from the dock, and create a new one by dragging the Aperture icon from the Applications folder to the dock. Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home button down at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
You won't lose any data as a result of a reset.

Have you checked the volume button? It might be physically stuck. To determine whether a hardware repair is needed, you need to follow these steps:
1. Try doing a hard reset:
Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
After that: test the device to see whether the issue is solved.
2. If the issue is not solved, you should backup the device and restore it as new.
In that case, use: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup.
If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.
